This is getting beyond frustrating at this point.

NOED totem, sure we won't know till the very endgame.

    But otherwise?

I've seen players who just walk right pass a HEX totem and rather go straight to the gen right next to it.

Isn't it more sensible for people to cleanse first then gen?

Both will signal the killer once done, but gens you can come back to it while HEX totems will affect the game as it stays.

I actually run Hex Haunted Grounds for this exact reason.

Most people don't bother to check for possible hex perks first and just rush cleanse as soon as they see them.

BHVR has enough on their plate, reworking maps, fixing up old perks, reworking bad killers...

Making new mori's is nowhere near the top of their priorities, and if it is, I dearly hope BHVR think through their priorities better.

True but simply because the topic at hand isn't a "top priority" does not mean we cannot talk about it.

Solo in DbD is bad? You should try Apex.

I've actually had better win/kd playing solo than with my friends.

When I play solo I often play far more focused and tend to either follow the aggressive teammates lead or I become the aggressive leader.

When I play with my friends we often goof off or no one seems to follow anyones lead.

lol it looks as intended S/-

tbh the game is on the first picture at LOW settings because i cant take this game on ultra (not because of my pc but because of how terrible and dark the game looks for me) i used to play this game in Ultra then i discovered that looked better at lower settings, wich was lame tbh.

I do personally like the more distinctive colours pallet vs the darker faded from base game. While I think the latter fits the atmosphere better for DBD its still nice to see more of a bold flavor.

Toxic SWF shred builds, fun meme builds, I want it all! Please post your hag builds below to help this baby hag explore some options. I am generally in ranks 6-4 as killer, and have all perks unlocked.

    Any advice appreciated, thank you!

I might run it, just to counter Huntress and 'Slinger at loops, no joke lol. But idk if replacing Resilience is the way to go, Resilience is just SO reliable.

Tell me if Urban Evasion is that good against them, since 'Slinger is a pain to face for me and Urban Evasion would theoretically counter him perfectly when he aims, right?

Build is: Resilience, Spine chill, Sprint Burst and Iron Will. (Mainly to counter Spirit but Urban would make it strong enough to counter 'Slinger, Huntress and Hag).

I don't know about Huntress as the hitbox is pretty wonky at times but crouching in general works against Slinger.

Since his hitbox is so tiny and most slingers aim a little higher, so simply "popin a squat" can often net you an evade. This isn't always the case as it will become a very apparent strategy that they will most likely be predicted, and given how quickly a shot can be fired off you may not be able to react in time.

Urban Evasion is just e gimmick perks I simply love so much.

From what I've seen, he's as bland as they come. Just a generic slasher/"torture porn", nothing that sets him apart from every other slasher ever. Saw had some vague philosophical depth to it and both it and Candyman had some psychological elements (and Candyman touched on racism). Jason is boring. All flash and no substance, as they say.

A common criticism of Candyman is that he's not that famous outside the USA, but neither is Jason. I didn't even know he existed until I dated a girl who was into F13th and A Nightmare On Elm Street. Other than her, though, nobody knew about either of them or cared.

I want you to mori me. It's not a matter of "daddy". Please, if i was you, i would mori myself at the spot. When you play games such as mk 11, you start to realize moris are a fun addition to spice up the game. Unless you're playing wraith, in which case you wasted your bloodpoints for a trash mori and every other survivors time. It's incredible how many people don't enjoy moris as a survivor. Seriously, i encourage survivors to just enjoy getting mutilated or choked or stabbed or your tongue ripped, or your picture taken with Ghostface.

Why wait for it in game?

I know a guy ,who knows a sick guy, who has the most elaborate basement setups!

Just let me know and I'll get one of his "Oinks" to pick you up.

  • I can't hear the survivors calling me OP over my Mori spam!

Imagine survivors having one, unnerfed iridescent left in the game and Killer's cannot handle it, despite it being extremely infrequent in comparison to the number of times you see their multiple iridescents used in matches. 🙄

Also, you saw that person come into the game with a key. An advantage only the killer has. You could have come better prepared to deal with it.

Plunders 3 gives keys out quite regularly.

Basically both Mori and Keys are unhealthy for the game because they skip core mechanics.

While they feel great for the person using them, they are polarizing for the person they are being used against and the effect of both does not mesh with how the "pip" system currently works.

  • Before the posts start flooding in about "They are two different teams" let me toss a few scraps of thought into the mix.

1: How much time/resources are actually being given to the bug team vs the money making cosmetic team.

2: How much training (upgrade) are being given to their staff in the coding/balance/whatever team.

3: If the code really is "spaghetti" as the game was not the creation by a "AAA" team (I'm simply speaking in terms of highly experienced/vet developers) and specific changes may not be possible at all/to the extent the Devs/community would like then why not be transparent.

4: Perhaps WE are in the wrong and eventually the release of Megs third designer sports sneaker cosmetic will actually cause a chain reaction (like a reverse bug infested patch) that will solve all of DBDs current problems!

While some of the recent patches have had a much larger aim for fixes (be it something you agree upon or not in terms of balance) they are the same when it comes to the slew of bugs they bring about/re-introduce. Its obvious things are not being tested to the extent they require. While I get the PTB community is less than helpful at times I feel these patches should be withheld longer for the sake of quality.

As for the release of constant cosmetics, it just leaves a poor taste in your mouth when you see these things crammed into the store every single day yet age old bugs remain for days, weeks, months... The optics of the situation look horrible from a consumer perspective.

PS: I do not work in the gaming industry at all, nor do I posses the skills required to make educated remarks on specific details pertaining to game development. I'm simply a person voicing their thoughts on the matter and as such I may be correct or wrong in many aspects.

I have also taken into consideration that perhaps my daily does of "Git Gud" pills may not be high enough for me to ignore issues I find "game breaking" and as a result I have dedicated more of my time to studying the art of "SWF" and "Killer Main Big Brain". Please give me time.

  • The problem is Tesla's stocks are too damn high!

  • @SlingerKing said:

It's a stupid blind luck mechanic that serves no purpose.

As a killer I nor should anybody else be cheated out of a win due to the game just deciding oh let's give these guys a key so they can randomly Escape after they've been outplayed the entire match.

Feels great when you do find a key in a chest and pull of the escape but its so polarizing when you are the killer.

They need to remove or rework both Keys and Moris altogether.

Also Plunder 3 gets you a key almost every time (at least in my experience)...

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

Can I get BPs when the Killer is using a Mori? And he should not get BPs for using them.

Also, Moris "counter" Keys, but Keys dont "counter" Moris. With a Mori you kill people faster, meaning it is less likely that many Survivors will have a potential escape with a Key.

Both should be changed, but not in such a way.

Maybe it was already answered but if your team is dying faster then your key will offer you an escape quicker. Keys are not "get my whole team out" items but rather personal escape tool that CAN get everyone out.

My opinion is to simply remove both Mori and Keys or do a serious overhaul to the effects of both.

  • @Respectfulnancymain said:

@Entity_Hugs claims people would. So im curious if hes correct and people would use it if the survivors couldn't hit the skill check while running

Overcharge going off (exploding) while running wouldn't give the perk added benefit for long.

In most cases survivors don't try to tap a gen while being chased (especially if they know you have Overcharge).

After hitting that first Overcharge and having it explode (if this change did go live) would quickly cause people to do the check rather than simply tap the gen next time.

So while it would be a small QOL to the perk I do not think it would give the perk a boost in any way, nor would I run the perk any more/less than I do now (aside from the initial testing from the change of course).

  • @Orion said:

I'll go first. TL;DR at the bottom.

I was playing survivor in a 2-man SWF with another 2-man SWF against a Hag. She got one, put him in the basement, traps all around, the usual. There also seems to be an issue with her TR because it's much lower and smaller than it should be (no, she didn't have any TR-reducing add-ons or perks).

Out of nowhere, a fly flies into my room and starts buzzing around me. I wave it away while trying to play the game. Eventually I get tired and try to "chase" it out the door. However, thanks to the aforementioned bugged TR, I didn't hear the Hag until she was right on me and hit me. I was eventually unhooked, but still died because that stupid fly kept flying in my face and distracting me.

TL;DR: A fly flew into my room and distracted me, so I died.

    TLDR at the bottom.

I managed to get stuck in a pallet that another survivor was already stuck in.

Admittedly the killer was very smart as they chased me to the shack where they proceeded to loop me until I jumped the pallet and got stuck with the other survivor. After they had us both trapped they went off to find the third survivor.

This was long before DC penalty and so after a few minutes of being stuck and the killer not breaking the pallet we just DCed. While I find it dumb this bug somehow makes a comeback every couple of patches I still have to give props to the initial shock at how outplayed I was when the killer herded me like a sheep to their trap. Was a good laugh.

    TLDR at the top.

to point 6: BBQ is 5 seconds which is exactly the amount of the bubble of the hook. So run into a direction you dont want to go, then when the bubble disappears (you dont even have to count) run into the other direction. 40m is enough to make the scratch marks vanish before the killer arrives.

EDIT: didnt finish to read, bnasically point 7 yeah. but the bubble hint is still an addition

"A deep bond with The Entity

unlocks potential in one's Aura-reading ability.

let's make a list of counters, shall we

    1. Lockers
    2. being within 40m
    3. Off the Record
    4. distortion
    5. hide behind a generators aura
    6. act AFK, then move to trick the killer
    7. walk (or run) in one direction, then head in the other when BBQ ends to trick the killer
    8. use OoO to see the killers aura while BBQ is active to figure out if he's coming to you, then take proper action
    9. use Kindred for the same purpose as what I just said

    anyone got anymore?

Even if you DON'T use any of the counters you just listed you still have a 1/3 chance to simply not be the target they go for, then a 1/2 and lastly the counters you mentioned.

  • I don't see Leatherface on this list, which is fitting considering I never see Leatherface on PS4 either.

While I still think Nurse is the rarest of all killers on PS4 I'm excluding her from the list simply due to the fact all her bugs coupled with console performance make her an illogical option to attempt to play.

Anyone else getting Vietnam Flashbacks every time they play killer around 13-17 where you get survivors that are yellow but clearly play like a Red, toxic like a Red and have 4 different teachables, or is it just me?

Goes back to the issue. If survivors want to de-rank, gg easy. If killers do, have to waste time playing a game or waste anything from 5 minutes to 30 from being a naughty boy/girl.

I've been around since day 1 release of the game and use to play like crazy. Due to changes I disagree with and the ever increasing toxicity I have cut back to maybe a couple games a month.

For this reason I'm almost always 20-15 on my survivor/killer when I do get back and while I may be a little rusty I'm definitely leagues above the new players who are often matched with me.

While I try to go slower on gens or simply not rush my butt out of the trial I also don't want to feed them too many free points and essentially boost them into higher ranks they are not ready for. It becomes an odd balance but the majority of the players seem to react positively to the offered advice I'll send or the breakdown of some of the things I may have done that confused them.

  • @EmpireWinner said:

Tell him to ignore the comments, easy

Actually the Devs need to start stepping in rather than just waiting for "reports" that may or may not actually do anything. While toxic people will always exist its the Developers and community that need to work to stop it. There is a limit to what you can reasonably expect to be ignored.

So I have played Nurse on Xbox for a few weeks now and gone from horrible to really good. Last two days I get lot's of 4k, but still have some games where I struggle a bit. Just played a game at Lerys and took out all of the survivors, and got a message after that I'm "DEFO using mouse and keyboard somehow cuz controller literally can't pull that **** off"

Seriously Nurse is seen as the best killer in the game, and Lerys is a probably a really good map for her. Is it so hard to accept that you can lose a game to Nurse on console? I don't even play games on PC so if I did have mouse and keyboard, I would play really bad believe me.

I remember on COD MW2 I was reported (supposedly) by a guy who claimed I was using a modded controller because I saw firing a semi-auto too fast.

Yeah people cannot comprehend that a controller doesn't mean you are crap at the game.

Slugging, while it can be boring at times (especially if the Killer’s slugging everyone before hooking them), is part of the game. There’s multiple perks and even a power that incentivize slugging. Bring perks like Unbreakable, Tenacity, and Flip-Flop (maybe even No Mither if you have enough confidence in yourself) to counter it.

Unacceptable you find a way to pressure gens without actually pressures...uh, gens...

Oh no....are WE the bad guys!?

  • @nicknack said:

Actually imo both roles have alot of pressure. Not every surrvivor is a swf so when doing solo q you have to worry about alot. "Will my teammates save me? Will they not be potatos? Will the killer actually be in my rank?" Theres so many variables to account for. So in the end solo q and killers have an equally hard time.

As a solo survivor I just do gens and when someones hooked say "welp the other 2 better make themselves useful".

Most matches end up with me never being chased while completing 3-4 gens or me getting chased once and no gens getting done.

Although I finished this Tome Challenge in 2 games, I’m curious as to why the devs thought this would be a good addition.

No, it’s not hard but it doesn’t contribute to your goal as a survivor or killer like the rest of the challenges do.

Why do you guys think the devs made this a challenge? Variety? To make people upset?

Spies from the Shadows would like to know your location.

Honestly it was probably just a "filler" idea tossed in or perhaps they figured people would start running Spies to shake things up? No idea.

  • @VentingSylar said:

To compliment my other thread about it not being an exhaustion perk, why is there seriously no score event for resetting a pallet? If anything it should give boldness points in the same amount as saboing a hook does. Just seems like a really big developer oversight. Would love to hear a dev's opinion on this.

Why not survival points since pallets are a device used to survive a chase. There are also so few ways to gain survival points.

    ok

Actually sounds like OP is getting frustrated by the toxic behavior of the DBD community in game. I can agree, whats the point of playing a game or trying to stick it out if you simply aren't enjoying it. That is the main reason I stopped playing DBD as I use to. I now hop in a few days every month just to see how things are and to have a couple casual matches.

I also stopped playing the COD series after Black Ops 2 because people were just too toxic/salty all the time and I didn't get any actual enjoyment from the games anymore. Its a shame that people feel the need to be such a way and ultimately ruin these games for people but its a reality that cannot be fixed unless both Devs and the community work together, and that rarely happens.

Ah the rift. Now I always expect my most dreaded challenge to return.

Stun the killer. I'm so horrible at this and the killer always seems to know Im doing the challenge and avoided my attempts. Lol

In fact , the only time I've evergotten past these challenges is when I've been faced with a killer who wants to farm...its my secret shame..

What is everyone else's most dreaded rift challenge?

Don't be shammed by "farm" rift completions.

If I need a challenge I've been stuck on for ages I'll ask the killer/survivors if they mind helping out in exchange for BP farm. If they are cool with it then we all walk away happy, if not then its business as usual.

I also get messages from time to time asking for help getting challenges and (I at least) never have a problem helping out. It could simply be that I have good luck with players but I've yet to have anyone get upset or annoyed with me asking.

  • Agree that on console a good Nurse player makes a match very enjoyable, but with how riddled with bugs she has is (along with inherent console Nurse issues) they are beyond a rarity.

I'd also like to see more Hag players. The only time I see a Hag on PS4 is during rank reset and sadly its a new player who just camps with all 10 traps around a single hook. When you get the strategic Hags who put traps in places you don't expect you get such a thrill as jumpscares happen during a chase.

Killers I'd like to see less....I guess Legion. Its not because I see too many but the gameplay is simply stale. I know once I get hit with feral frenzy I just instantly mend and continue on my way like nothing happend. If they commit to a chase then its just your typical M1 "loops fest" until they give up or you get hit. I just find it boring as the power ultimately feels useless.

On average I'd say killer challenges.

I'm the one who dictates what I'm focusing for my gameplay as a killer. If I am doing a survivor challenge I have the potential of having 3 other people "fighting me" for their challenge. If we all need 3 unhooks in a match then it becomes a battle between us. For this reason I often hold off on survivor challenges until a little into the rift.
