My Bias is towards a hard, but fair challenge. Surviving with No Mither is a hard, but fair challenge. Surviving, in general, is not, do not pretend that it is. Playing specific killers is not a challenge, some are fair, and most are not. From my experience, making the survivor side take more skill, and then in turn balancing would be far better than allowing casual play to be the most common way the game is played, and as a result, the game being balanced around low stress for the survivor, and the killer only being there for the survivor's enjoyment.
Unicorn, you're trying to put something in its place, without being able to understand your own Biases, you haven't read my posts or are refusing to understand what they want. I want to be challenged while playing survivor without having to place handicaps on myself. Form your post history, you like riding Behaviours cock, don't understand that calling someone a baby killer drives them away (killing the game faster,) and your profile picture tells me you support the dumpster fire that was the Twins.
Freddy was the first, remember when blinds and stuns always counted and didn't need to be timed? That was only changed after big named streamers actively said something and encouraged their communities to complain.
If you played with @Unicorn as frequently as I do then you’d know that she isn’t anything like what you’re claiming her to be so please come up with a better argument instead of coming up with pointless attacks on her character.

I heard a rumor that husk Spirit's glass shards glow when she's phasing, can anyone confirm?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1840376#Comment_1840376
Do you have pics or video to show the difference? Would help a lot.
Yes they do glow. Me and my friend tested this in a KYF a while ago with all of her cosmetics (because I have all of them). This one is one of the more noticeable ones.
It’s not very useful when in a chase though because you won’t be this close to her.
-
Gen regression perks are so boring to use, I hate them. I refuse to use them on Spirit or any other stronger killer.
I will however use one gen regression (usually Pop) on weaker killers with no map pressure like Pig.
-
What is the logic in nerfing a weak perk specifically for the one killer and buffing it for all other killers because it benefits one killer the most out of the 20+ roster of killers? That’s like saying “let’s nerf STBFL because it works too well on Demo and Pig but buff it for Nurse and Huntress”.
Stridor isn’t the problem. Spirit standing still and giving no clear indication on what she is doing is the issue. She gives zero feedback and no reasonable counterplay besides blind guessing. Give Spirit some indication on when she is using her power and SOME general indication on her location while phasing and Stridor is a non-issue.
-
Either Billy or Trapper.
Why would I play Billy when Oni exists? Oni is basically easier Billy who won’t bump into objects, has a flick, and can chain downs easier. Billy just feels outdated and bad to play. His limited steering and bumping into objects feels so bad especially with eight billion trees in the way.
Trapper is so boring. You lose two or three gens just setting up your power and I hate territorial killers. If I was gonna play a trap killer why wouldn’t I just play Hag who is better and can at least teleport around the map and be in multiple places at once causing a more chaotic and fun match.

To be fair, dbd when spirit was released was very different. I remember spirit was actually kinda weak in the meta until they buffed her. Then they kept her the same as DBD got rebalanced. Deathslinger is still considered weak outside of boring chases. Outside of Pyramid head's animation lock Pyramid Head isn't really considered top-tier strong either.
Spirit on release was on really considered weak because of directional audio and people didn’t know how to play her. She had DUMB STRONG add-ons, collision while phasing, no window vault animation, etc...she was really that weak.
Deathslinger and PH are not weak. They don’t have to be Nurse tier in order to be considered strong.
-
Myers does feel a little outdated but Plague? I honestly feel like Plague is a great killer with amazing potential. I don’t think she needs any changes. This is coming from someone who used to main Plague back on her release. I still love Plague but I’m bored of her :/
-
People call EVERY new killer weak on release. Spirit was considered weak, now she is completely hated and one of the strongest killers despite getting nerfs. Deathslinger was considered weak. Pyramid Head was considered weak. Now look at them.
People will jump on the “new killer is weak” bandwagon ASAP.

Just remember, its only a game. Also try not to overuse the power if you really want to win. Build confidence with the knowledge you have of the killer. What do you think people did with blight when he first came out, people said he was terrible, and now he's arguably one of best additions to this game.
People will always say the new killer is weak. They said the same exact thing about Spirit, Deathslinger, and Pyramid Head and now look at them. All very good and all very hated to face.
-
Oh no. I lost my long wall jungle gym connected to shack connected to an L/T wall connected a long short wall connected to another long wall. I actually have to preserve pallets and play smart? What ever will I do?
I like the new Ormond update. You actually have to play with a brain as survivor now and not have the entire map as a connected loop.
-
Spirit
• She has the power role in a chase and doesn’t NEED slowdown perks (which I never run on her)
• She goes “WHOOSH”
• Has some of the best cosmetics and is an extremely unique killer aesthetically. She’s not just another killer with a mask and a knife.
-
I've gotten REKT playing the Twins but I don’t care and neither should you. It’s a brand new killer we all have to get used to and if the survivors are good and you’re still learning the killer then you’ll most likely lose but that’s just the way it is.
Don’t get discouraged, I’ve gotten sweat squads as the new killer but I know I have nothing to prove to anyone and I’m still learning the killer. Let them have their way because they’ll just lose the next match at five gens when they get a double purple add-on Spirit with an ebony XD
-
I like the changes because it actually feels like a junkyard but I dislike how dark the lighting is. I wish it was a just a bit brighter.
Just like the MacMillan maps, it’s gonna take some getting used to because I’ve been turned around on Autohaven and had no idea where I was and what part of the map I was at. I’ve confused the office on Azarov’s for shack multiple times.

Agreed, and anyone who says it's a kids thing have obviously not read the books, even if they're sold in kids/teens sections.
Yeah definitely. A game with possessed animatronics and a man murdering children and stuffing them into suits is for the same demographic as kids who watch Blue’s Clues. For sure. Can’t see any disagreement there.

Yup, Springtrap/William Afton is a far better suggestion then quite a few suggestions. Especially something like Jeepers Creepers, yuck.
Springtrap for DBD or riot. I don’t care what anyone says, Springtrap is a great suggestion in my opinion. And FNAF is NOT a kids games

Unfortunately it is a separate trophy list and you have earn them all over again. PS5 DBD is recognized as a separate game from PS4 DBD for some reason (it is possible to merge them, Ghost of Tsushima did it). If you want them to merge, then we just need to let BHVR know that there's a demand for it.
I do hope they eventually merge it because that’s super annoying. Some of those trophies are a PAIN to earn. I’m somewhat of a trophy hunter and it annoys me when I haven’t gotten all the trophies on a game I frequently play. There is no way I’d be able to get some of those adepts at red ranks at this point.
I don’t plan on getting a PS5 for about a year though.
-
Devotion 14 Level 53
Since I’m a Playstation player I don’t know my exact hours but Sony releases year end stats and I got 650 hours in 2018 and 1174 hours in 2019. If my hours are the same or more than 2019 then I have around 3000 hours in DBD.
-
Random question about DBD on PS5. Is it a completely separate trophy list for PS5 or do all your trophies carry over from PS4?
-

Well, if we are going by leaks then it’s not licensed but, at this point, they probably know people look for that stuff so their probably actively screwing with those people now. For now though, I’m just going to say it’s original.
The new killer is gonna be Shrek. We all know it.

Yeah, because PERIODICAL MOANING is the same as always seeing scratch marks, hearing injured survivors and seeing grass move.
Scott proved that a GOOD Spirit will still wreck everyone and that this bug doesn't make her useless.
And not knowing if she's phasing was always HALF the issue.
What did Scott do to prove this? Because as far as I’ve seen, Scott is like the most average Spirit player. He’s not GREAT but not bad either. I watched him play and lose a few times as Spirit.
I don’t think this bug has really any difference in the way you play Spirit. I played her a couple of times and I played the exact same way but I also don’t do the stand still “MiNdGaMe”. This bug is BARELY a nerf.
I also haven’t seen this bug from the survivors POV, I’ve only heard about it.
-
Do you like getting hit by orcas?
-
- Freddy
- Legion
- Huntress
-
No. It should be balanced around casual play because a majority of the players are casual.
-
No because you never know why people have to disconnect.
Maybe they had a personal issue to attend to?
Maybe they had a game breaking bug?
Maybe it was an Iri Head Huntress and nobody wants to face that?
Maybe they’re bored because they’ve gotten Freddy 7/10 games and they’re done for the night?
Maybe they’re just mad?
There are multiple possibilities on why a survivor DC’s and some of the reasons I just can’t blame them.
-
Half of the killers have a 2 second stun anyways so you gain no distance if you wiggle free.
-
Freddy, basic choice I know but I’ve always hated facing a Freddy.
-
I got it a while ago. I have all of the other trophies from the other chapters besides three.
Skilled Huntress. I’ve farmed hatchet throws with survivors during Huntresses tome and I’ll have to keep farming for that. And it’s 100 on console compared to 20 on PC. So it’s a lot more grindy.
Left for Dead. You basically have to get lucky.
Speed Kills. It’ll happen eventually, just have to play more Blight :/
-
It’s up there. I say Fractured Cowshed is worse though.

I just wasn't the fan of "it's all hallucinations" because as soon as you figure that out everything just loses its scare. Whilst in Little Hope, at least from what I've seen, it looks legitimately supernatural and actually terrifying.
Understandable and I didn’t like that aspect either because nothing was really scary about Man of Medan once you found out that aspect of the game, but most people didn’t know that during their first playthrough.
I had to play the game MANY times because I got the platinum so I kinda had to enjoy it to play it through that many times.
-
I’ve only been dodging lobbies as Bubba so I can specifically get Dwight, Jake, and Meg because I STILL NEED THEIR FACES AND NOBODY PLAYS JAKE LIKE EVER.

Okay as much as I disliked the game, if they managed to combine The Dark Pictures and DBD (like, Little Hope is releasing and holy ######### it looks awesome) I can't tell you how ######### stoked I would be!
Man of Medan was actually a pretty good game, I disliked some of the characters (namely Alex) but it was solid. It just didn’t live up to the hype Until Dawn had.

My examples are killers who you can counter if good and are typically found fun myers is fun also it wasnt just flat out these are fun also i wasnt using Scott jund but ok.
Every killer has some form of a counter, no killer is completely uncounterable. There’s just different types of counters. You can’t loop a Deathslinger the same way you would a Wraith.
DS and PH have a strong 1V1 chase. Of course you’re going down quicker than you would a Wraith.
Also didn’t know Huntress was “typically found fun”. I didn’t know a majority of the playerbase liked facing her. Didn’t know people like getting hit by her flying orcas.

Good does not equal boring (huntress, Billy, nurse, oni, demo).
But I don’t find Huntress or Billy fun to face.
A MAJORITY of Nurse players are not good. Good ones exists but it’s not a common sight.
You can’t use the Scott Jund excuse of “boring to face” because not the entire playbase is going to agree on what killers are fun and what killers are not. I love facing Myers but I know people who hate him. We all have different opinions on who we like and dislike :/
-
I feel like the fact that she has no cooldown is a bug because she has add-ons that decrease her cooldown. However if it was intended then that would be very nice.
-
Probably Candyman *sigh*

You didn’t disprove my statement though. You’re saying DS rewards bad plays, but if I get smacked through a pallet or from across the map, how is that a “bad play”? I can show you a clip of me getting smacked from about 4 ft away and around a corner. It’s such a broad statement to say.
edit: typo
If you’re talking about the clip I think you’re talking about then you just need to git gud.
That Leatherface clearly transformed into a Nurse, learned how to blink, and got gud, now it’s your turn 😉
-
Why does it matter?
-
She’s not OP because...
1.) Her power is on a cooldown, she can’t spam it. If she messes up or you confuse her then she is a 110% killer.
2.) She can still be beaten. If she was OP then she would be unbeatable.
3.) Windows are your friend. God windows destroy Spirit.
4.) She has no map pressure. If she uses her power for map pressure then she has no chase potential. Big maps like Mother’s Dwelling are hell for her.
5.) Sounds are bugged and sometimes you can’t even hear survivors.
She has a very good 1V1 chase potential but her 4V1 isn’t the best.
Spirit isn’t OP nor has she ever been.
-
Don’t people get tired of the same discussions over and over again and using the same “Scott Jund said this” argument?

If its any consolation I hate when people parrot the exact words I've used too. I just make thought videos because I like talking about game design.
It’s not that I have an issue with you personally. It’s just that I feel like a lot of players will inevitably piggy back on the opinions of people with a bigger audience rather than thinking “how do I really feel about this killer?” Instead will make posts and use the argument “This streamer said so and so”.
But I can only imagine that it’s not fun to have people parrot your words :/
Yes I disagree with some opinions you have but it’s just that...an opinion. We all have one and what killers people find “boring” or “fun” is completely subjective.
I still enjoy watching your videos and streams. It helped me A LOT when learning killer and still helps me to this day.

I disagree with Scott very often, hes 100% correct on this though. They made a bad to ok perk basically useless. For me anyway. This was 100% a nerf
I wasn’t talking about his specific idea change on Knock Out but how people agree on a majority of his viewpoints simply because he’s a popular streamer in the community.
An example is that his viewpoint is that killers like Pyramid Head and Deathslinger are “boring” killers. Fine. He can believe that. It’s his opinion but seeing multiple threads by different people gets tiresome and annoying. All they do it reiterate and state the same thing over and over again basically piggy backing off of his belief rather than forming their own opinion.
-

Okay no hate to Scott since its not his fault but whats with the recent rise of praising him like he's a god? This man says one thing and suddenly its on the forums like "SCOTT JUND SAID SOMETHING GUYS EVERYONE NEEDS TO KNOW AND THIS NEEDS TO BE IMPLEMENTED!!!!" Like who even is he-
Because if Scott Jund says it then it must be true. At least that’s what everyone thinks. Kind of annoying how people use the argument of “Well...Scott Jund said this” instead of formulating their own opinion. A lot of people would rather piggy back off of what a popular streamers opinion is because it’s easier.

All you have to do is play solo survivor these days and see how many cant last more than 10-20 seconds in a chase to realise that looping takes skill. Theres definitely something that seperates the pros from the beginners.
Granted some loops are ultra safe no matter what but other times you need to understand the killer and predict their next move or when they’re going to try and mindgame.
Also as survivor you need to know when to drop the pallet, or when you can save the pallet and link a nearby loop together to extend the chase. This is one that a lot of survivors seem to struggle with or dont want to risk leaving the safety of their pallet.
You can’t really use the argument that “A survivor lasts longer in a chase than B survivor therefore A survivor is the more skillful one” because you have the Rank 20 survivor that wastes all the pallets but lasts three minutes due to using all the resources. Then the Rank 1 survivor gets in a chase a downed in 20 seconds because they had no resources to work with since the Rank 20 used all the pallets early in the game.
Skill equals a variety of things like how well you can read the killers movements, preserving pallets (as you said), intertwining strong loops together (as you said), evading the killer, breaking chase, knowing the killers perks, etc...I agree that basic looping takes some skill but sometimes you can’t do anything in a chase because all the pallets were wasted by a random :/
And sometimes we just potato and go down in 20 seconds. Happens to everyone. Doesn’t mean the survivor is bad though.
