    Yup.

I got reported for using Mad Grit. Apparently I exploited by spamming my attack button because I was memeing with Mad Grit as Plague.

Maybe it’s a matchmaking thing and not a server thing?

It is a possibility because I’ve matched with a lot of people from Asia and their ping a bit more spiky than everybody else. Then again, they could be in a SWF group and their buddies are from the US and they are matching with killers from a completely different continent.

  • I play in the US East and typically when I am killer my survivors range from 40-180 ping. I play on console so that’s pretty typical.

I have had players from all over the place in my lobbies. They could also be SWF though. One of my friends lives in Central America and we match with killers from all over the world.

  • When I was new to killer I dodged if I saw survivors in P3 outfits and flashlights.

Nowadays I won’t ever dodge a lobby. I won’t dodge but I switch to specific killers if they bring in certain killer. There is no way in hell I am playing Hag against flashlights.

If I suspect the players are really good then I switch to Spirit. Other than that I stick with Plague.

  • I dropped Self Care and I don’t regret it. It has no use when you have med-kits, your teammates, Adrenaline, Second Wind, and Inner Strength.

“But med-kits aren’t endless.” Yeah but how often are you going to have to heal yourself? If you have to heal 7 or 8 times over and over again you aren’t playing optimally. Good survivors stay injured because they don’t care. They can loop and have perks to prolong a chase and waste time. Healing with Self Care and the killer has Sloppy Butcher is doing your team NO favors.

You’re being a useless teammate by healing in the corner of the map not doing anything.

Perks like Adrenaline and Inner Strength reward you a free heal that takes FAR less time than Self Care and you actually do something productive in the game, while Self Care you are doing nothing productive.

Plus if the killer has Nurses Calling and you’re healing in a bush you are going to die regardless. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve phased walked on a Claudette healing herself in the far corner of the map. Guess what happened? She died. Or disconnected. Did nothing for her team and they all lost.

Self Care is simply not as good as people say it is. You are wasting time not doing a damn thing which is what the killer wants.

  • @bomb1720 said:

also i got used to not taking self care and then my r2 button stopped working so i couldn't use medi kit. my perks at the time were borrowed time, the one where you can unhook faster with bp, for my team mates. for myself addrenilin and the one for the aura of hatch. completey hated having to take selfcare again. i do think though selfcare is a good perk for majarority until you can get to rank 4-6 and if you dare!

Doesn’t matter if your R2 button broke, you can still change your controls and choose different buttons for every action. My X button became wonky so I had to change my hook struggle to R1 until I got a new controller.

  • I rotate survivors. I usually play Meg, Claudette, Nea, Feng, Kate, Nancy, Dwight, or Steve and that’s nearly half the roster. I don’t get tired of the same survivor because I have others to switch between.

For killer I can get burnt out on Spirit so I have been a Plague main as of late. I do switch between all killers except Nurse and Huntress (I only play them for rituals).

I am actually really surprised to hear this from you. I agree that she is balanced against swf but I don't agree with killers being balanced for swf's since the majority of players play solo.

Spirit is balanced against a GOOD SWF group. I have run into many SWF groups in my time playing and I can tell you that 85% of them are just friends playing to have fun and chill together. It’s not like every SWF is a de-pip squad wanting to bully the killer and even if they do that’s usually not an issue. They bring in flashlights and try to BM you and flashlights are a very weak item.

Overly altruistic SWF will basically give you the kills because they’re overly altruistic

It’s mainly the gen-rushing “I don’t care about my teammates I’m only doing gens” kind of groups you have to worry about.

No regrets since lol. What did you replace it with? I started running Iron Will instead

Well I typically always run Balanced Landing and Adrenaline. It really depends on who I am playing. I use different builds for different survivors.

For Meg I run WGLF and Iron Will (she is extremely loud)

Nea I run Decisive and WGLF

Claudette I run a completely different build. I use Calm Spirit, Iron Will, Dance With Me, and Head On.

I love WGLF because the bloodpoint increase is always nice. After rank reset I ALWAYS run DS because lower rank killers will usually tunnel harder. Iron Will is my favorite though.

    Using self care

Dropping Self Care was one of the best things I’ve ever done as a survivor.

  • As far as I know they only released achievements/trophies for when a new killer or a survivor was released.

The only time they’ve released achievements/trophies in mid chapter patch was when it was a paragraph with a killer/survivor like Bubba or Ash.

It is something brand new though so it would be nice to have achievements/trophies along with it.

  • Plague, Spirit, and Hag are the three I play the most.

I will play any killer though besides Nurse and Huntress (I only play them for rituals)

Need I remind you that you're seem to be always assuming that the injured survivor is there and you can phase through him, but without collision how are you so certain that the survivor is there? To go with your hypothesis, ill be also assuming that people could be body blocking with their collision, which is also typically not the case plus you won't tell if they are or not since your only option is footprints and screaming (iron will) you're also not taking into consideration that they can preventively drop the pallet, giving collision either way.

Even with collision I have phased around a survivor and ended up in front of them and downed them before they reached a pallet or before they reached the exit gate. Predicting where a survivor will go is not hard if you can hear their footsteps, grass and corn moving, breathing, and injured moans.

Having no collision only makes this easier because you can phase right through the survivor.

Think of it like Nurse when she blinks. You can’t body block an injured survivor because Nurse can blink right through you. Same holds true if Spirit had no collision while phasing.

I mean we got Steve. Does he count, or is my gay-ass too obsessed with him?

Same...my gay ass LOVES Joe Keery. Ever since I watched Stranger Things, Steve was always my favorite character.

  • I thought I could run faster as Meg because her bio said “able to outrun most killers”.

Even as a noob I was never immersed. I played dumb though. I threw down pallets when the killer was 20 feet behind me.

I also didn’t know scratch marks were a thing so I was shocked when the killer knew exactly where I was *shocked Pikachu face intensifies*

  • I have a very hard time against Ghostface. I dunno why, I just play terribly against him.

Killer I own? Spirit easily. Plague is also one I play really well.

  • @Rin_is_my_waifu said:

Believe it or not, the only answer to gen rush is spirit. Just learn how to play her and you'll be destroying every SWF team. Trust me I'm a spirit main.

Spirit isn’t the only viable killer to compete with gen rushing.

I do fine with Plague. Billy is good. Hag is GREAT. Nurse is STILL and will probably always be the strongest killer. She is able to deal with all of survivors defenses.

I’m just tired of spirits that tunnel everyone to death. As soon as the unhook occurs “WHOOOSH”, down again.

It’s more on the player than the actual killer.

Hag- Spams all 10 traps at the hook.

Wraith- Cloaks and stands behind a wall behind the hook and waits.

Hillbilly- Same as Spirit, comes flying back as soon as unhooking starts.

Trapper- King patroller of the hook. They will walk in circles 20 meters away from the hook.

Leatherface- ....let’s be honest, we all know.

Not denying your point, but have you ever heard how over-dramatic Huntress is?

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5z9D-vivtmA&t=22s

Huntress is EXTREMELY overdramatic. She isn’t intended to be a creepy killer though, Spirit is.

I’ve gotten used to the sounds she makes and I’m glad that at least you don’t have to hear a majority of the sounds while playing Spirit. She still sounds like Walugi though. The stun sounds Spirit makes is overdramatic just like Huntress...except Huntress is more exaggerated and longer than Spirit is.

  • @Steve0333 I just don’t see how Billy is highly regarded. I guess because I’ve seen so many bad ones but he’s just too loopable to be the 3rd best killer (after Nurse and Spirit). Sure he has an instadown and map pressure but if he gets a loop heavy map then it can be hell for the Billy.

Hag just has more potential to me. She has map pressure and chase potential.

  • Oooooh I see we adding now. I had somebody come for me because my PSN name is something to do with SpongeBob

Legion!? You see lots of Legions in red ranks? That's odd lol. Maybe you play in EU, I hear Spirit is everywhere on EU servers but I do see a fair bit of Ghostface yeah. Plague and Freddy? Absolutely, I see them by far the most in red rank. I'd say I see a spirit once out of 5 games in red ranks? And they usually aren't good.. During last rank reset I saw a massive amount of Spirits in purple ranks and they were also bad and yeah I'm on PS4. I'm not so sure I've seen you, maybe. I haven't been playing much this reset though.

I’m on the east coast of the US so I’m doubtful I get EU servers. Today I played quite a bit and here is what I can recall

    • 2 Plagues

    • A Red Paint Brush/Swing Chains Freddy

    • A Clown with the Pinky Finger add-on

    • A Spirit who had connection from Mars

    • A Hag who DC’ed when her totems were broken,

    • A boosted Billy with NOED

    • Wraith

    • Demogorgon

    • Legion

    • Myers

    • A basement Bubba who camped with Insidious

So yeah that’s pretty much the norm for rank reset. I see a variety of killers until I get to red ranks then I see TONS of Spirit players. Oddly enough I do see Legion and Ghostface a lot. Plague on the other hand I’ve been seeing more frequently after the Dying Light change.

I also haven’t played much since rank reset. This was my first day playing since rank reset.

    Hooks

It is how many hooks you get or sacrifices?

Let’s say I hook Claudette 3 times, do I get credit for all 3 of the times I hooked her or do I have to physically sacrifice 25 Claudettes to get the face?

  • @Corrupted said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/772467#Comment_772467

Here's the thing with Nurse though, it's kinda the opposite or atleast for me. I rarely see Nurses in red rank and from what I've gathered, many people on console would agree in which is why people think she's bad(myth) but she isn't. I rarely see Nurse in red rank but when I do, she's good. I agree Nurse is the best killer. But by comparison, I see Spirit more often than Nurse however, almost all of them are mediocre or bad and can't get more than 1 kill. In my own experience on PS4, I see Plagues and Freddy waayyy more than Spirit and Nurse. I think Plague and Freddy are easier to pick up but Spirit has the best ROI or risk to reward ratio. Every other game It's either a Plague or Freddy I swear.

I rarely if ever see a Nurse on console. People stray away from her because she’s not easy to play on console. I personally embarrass myself every time I play Nurse. I do see good Nurse players if I see her in red ranks because a majority of those players are comfortable playing her.

Spirit I see A LOT. I mean...A LOT. I see three killers about 90% of the time. Those are Spirit, Ghostface, and Legion. I am so bored of facing those three killers over and over again.

I see boosted Spirits but I do see Spirit players who know how to track though. They aren’t uncommon. Almost every boosted Spirit I see has Haunted Ground, Spirit Fury (without Enduring), Ruin, and NOED.

Where are you seeing these Plague players at? I hardly ever see Vommy Mommy. I don’t mind facing her. It might be because of the new Dying Light change and she benefits from it more than any other killer besides Freddy.

You could’ve also gone against me at times because I play Plague quite a bit. I think you told me you played on PS4.

  • @Corrupted Yes that is true...but you also mentioned how Nurse is extremely powerful but she is WAY harder to be good with than Spirit is. Nurse is easily the best, but only in the right hands. Most players who play Nurse aren’t great with her, similar to what you say about Spirit.

Spirit isn’t hard to learn...at all. If you know how to track then Spirit is great. I don’t play her as much though because I don’t wanna exert the energy in playing her, I typically stick with Plague throughout all ranks.

Spirit is not hard to play but requires basic tracking and a little bit of energy and focus which I understand can turn people away from her. Freddy is much more simplistic in his playstyle but a great Freddy can still get demolished by a good team. A great Spirit will objectively do much better. If she can track you, you will die. Freddy can’t end chases as quickly.

I do get what you mean though about seeing more decent Freddy players over decent Spirit players. Freddy is just a basic M1 killer, doesn’t require much thought to play. A bunch of Spirits I run into are BOOSTED. They can’t follow sounds.

  • 8B2C2137-0B76-428A-ABB4-41198E12564F.jpeg

They’re all the same. I do think this is funny though.

  • @djsponge10 said:

Freddy's lunge is the EXACT SAME AS EVERY OTHER KILLERS BASE LUNGE how tf does everyone not know this? oh... console. (coming from a console player )

It only seems longer because he has to throw his whole body because his weapon is his hand.

Now compare that with Doctor’s big stick or Spirit’s long katana. It just SEEMS like Freddy has a longer lunge but we all know he doesn’t.

  • @Corrupted said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/769386#Comment_769386

I mostly agree but most people won't understand and will argue you down that Freddy is better because he has more versatility and is easier to play than Spirit. There aren't many good Spirits believe it or not, and as Spirit you HAVE to be good and consistent at downing survivors with your phasing. If not then it's a waste, not to be confused though. I believe Spirit is 100% better than Freddy but there are just a lot of bad spirits and Freddy is easier to play (he also gen slowing add ons which is fap lol.)

Spirit is similar to Nurse in the regard that she doesn’t have to respect pallets and can easily down a survivor in under 20 seconds. She has so many things working for her. There’s no denying that she’s better than Freddy. She can do everything Freddy better than him.

It all boils down to the fact that Spirit can play more “MiNdGaMeS” (faking her power) and can end a chase way quicker than Freddy can. Freddy will still have to play pallets like a normal killer while Spirit will be able to just phase around the pallet or predict a survivors movement.

Spirit is still the only killer who can down a survivor by literally doing nothing. Just stand still and wait for they’ll run into you.

  • @GrootDude said:

Nurse is still #1 on console and spirit is much better, billy is definitely worse than Freddy imo though.

I always think people overrated Billy. He’s extremely loopable. He is still #4 in my opinion and the best male killer in the game. Nurse, Spirit, and Hag are #1-3 respectively.

Freddy is strong but I don’t find him nearly ad challenging as people say he is. I’m just bored to death because almost every Freddy wants to run Swing Chains and Red Paint Brush with Thantophobia and Dying Light. He’s very annoying and BORING to face. Not the kost challenging killer for me to face personally though. That honor belongs to Spirit.

  • @NinoV1 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/769247#Comment_769247

Honestly his ability to basically just show up out of no where is part of the reason he’s so strong.

You still have somewhat of a warning due to the lullaby. If Spirit is running Prayer Beads you basically have zero warning.

I can’t buy Freddy being better than Spirit. She ends chases too quickly and has map pressure as well.

  • No. Even a no add-on Spirit 100% beats ANYTHING Freddy can do. Freddy still has to chase normally and eat pallets, Spirit does not.

Hag is also better than Freddy. As is Billy.

It’s not as easy to play Nurse on console but she’s still the best killer if you play her very well. Spirit is just easier to play hence when she is so popular.

  • If I had fun I won. It’s the only reason to play the game. If I BARELY killed all survivors after I was looped and was frustrated all game then I don’t feel like I won. I could have a round where I destroy potatoes and I don’t feel like I won. Even if one or two escaped...if I was enjoying playing the killer and had a nice round then I feel more accomplished.

  • Hag easily. Billy is next. Then Huntress and Plague.

  • Can’t go against Spirit if you play killer...8000 IQ strategy

  • I find myself getting chased A LOT so I guess getting chased is what I’m meant to do.

  • Her movement speed should increase by 1% depending on how many hatchets she has left.

    5 hatchets- 110%

    4 hatchets- 111%

    3 hatchets- 112%

    2 hatchets- 113%

    1 hatchet- 114%

    0 hatchets- 115%

  • She’s very frustrating to go against, but I’m gutting her isn’t the answer.

    • She should move grass and corn

    • Her footsteps should be as loud as Wraiths’

    • Prayer Beads needs a rework or a downside.

That’s really all I can think of. She doesn’t need hardcore nerfs. She’s always going to be an annoying killer to face not much you can do about it though. Guess you gotta bring out your Iron Will and make it a main perk.

  • I’m a terrible Nurse. I play on console so it’s not easy. I’ve had a few matches where I got a 4K but those are few and far between.

I’m also pretty awful with Huntress and Billy but those killers are a little more forgiving than Nurse is. If you don’t have the blinks down then you will lose.

  • Probably won’t be changed because it’s still possible to do so. They changed one of Legion’s achievements because it would’ve been impossible post-rework. So we know it’s not impossible to change achievements.

I got my achievement because I asked a SWF group if they’d help me with it and we just brought in BPS and farmed the entire round.

  • Red Paint Brush and Swing Chains when paired with Thantatophobia and Dying Light is the most boring build on the planet. Sitting on generators for two minutes is not exactly very thrilling. I’m never really excited to go against a Freddy. He is easily one of my most disliked killers to face.

That being said...he doesn’t need a change though

  • @StarMoral said:

She's still top tier, she just has more gameplay possibility. (Almost like the main focus of the rework was her add-ons)

She's still competing for the best, but I think Spirit might overtake her.

I love Spirit, I main her...but she still has to abide by the physics of the game. Nurse doesn’t have to abide by anything.

Spirit has less map pressure than Nurse.

Her power has an even longer cooldown.

Nurse can end a chase way quicker.

I don’t understand why players think Spirit (let alone Billy) is better than Nurse now just because Nurses’ power is now on a SHORT cooldown.

  • @CrowFoxy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/757891#Comment_757891

If she ends a chase in 15 seconds as new Nurse, the survivor is a baby survivor who's extremely bad or made a horrible mistake.

    You get a sprint burst.

    She is in fatigue.

She can blink once, or wait 3.5 sec for a recharge. You just run in a straight line, wasting her time. As she tries to catch up she will fatigue again, and must recharge her blinks. This can add up to around 30 ish seconds or MORE if you break LOS.

Experienced Nurse players can easily predict survivors because they know their movements and have played Nurse for ages.

Many people who play Nurse can catch a survivor on one blink. Not to mention that there are add-ons to decrease the cooldown. Experienced Nurse players don’t need the range add-ons because they have trained themselves with her base-kit. Once they find a survivor it’s a pretty quick down.

The same thing is still true...your skill is irrelevant against Nurse players, same with Spirit. It’s down to how good the Nurse is. If she’s good, you die.

A three second cooldown isn’t going to drop Nurse from the top spot.

  • Let’s be honest...the best pallet is OBVIOUSLY the one on Temple of Purgation beside the generator. Hasn’t failed me yet 😎

*somebody fails to see the meme*

  • OMG IT IS TERRIBLE! It has always been bad as Hag on PS4. It’s like a damn slide show.

When you get Ormond or Red Forest it’s even worse.

  • She’s still S tier. She is still easily the best killer.

✅ Still avoid all survivor defenses

✅ Still can blink through walls

✅ Still can end a chase in 15 seconds

All the Nurse mains are still going to destroy everyone. She’s just not STUPIDLY overpowered, now she is just regular overpowered. She’s still Nurse.

  • @ScottJund said:

The only reliable thing I could possibly say is to listen for her footsteps to tell if she's phasing. The glass shard thing is dependent on cosmetic and depending on lighting in the map, is extremely hard to notice mid-chase.

I’m pretty sure her hair also stands straight up when she starts to phase but she has shorter hair cosmetics that counter that.

Listening for footsteps has helped me when she has Prayer Beads because I heard her footsteps slap the ground but in a chase if the Spirit is that close to you she’s probably already going to know where you are.

Like you said, it’s a guessing game. That’s why people hate facing her.

There isn’t any reliable counter to Spirit but hope you brought in Iron Will and cross your fingers that she can’t track. I still love to play her though, I just feel bad for the survivors for having to face her :/

1 … 26 27 28 29 30 … 55
