I don't think you understood what I was saying. I play Spirit the 2nd most out of all killers, yes I'm aware of what they are mad about and I'm not saying it isn't valid per say, you don't have to explain Spirit's nonsense to me, I get it. I just find the hypocrisy baffling was more so the point. Survivors run the most broken add ons, perks (old MoM) survivors abuse plenty of super braindead loops. I'm fully aware Spirit needs more counterplay and how unfair it can be at times, the point I was making is that survivors also use and exploit things that are broken without remorse but when the tables are flipped, there's a big issue.
Survivor runs you in an infinite, uses instaheal, gg you suck. You use Spirit, then you have 10IQ and are bad at the game and get hate mail. Spirit isn't the most skillful killer to use, but neither is a 4 man instaheal or prenerf MoM (which was used nearly every game) or abusing near infinites or having braindead loops on Haddonfield or certain spawns of Autohaven. I just find it funny.
But personally I actually find Spirit fun to verse just because the kit is very different from other killers. But that's subjective.
Anything the survivors run...the killer can run something stronger. If you suspect a squad who might be good and have the meta perks with insta-heals, all you have to do is put on double purple add-on Spirit, Omega Blink Nurse, or Iridescent Head Huntress all with an Ebony Mori and you won’t lose. I never ever complain about what survivors run because I know I can make my game easy and run equal BS on the killer side and the game would be fair. I don’t get the purpose of saying survivors run broken BS when the killer can run BS that is even more broken is their favor.
I won’t deny that insta-heals are stupidly strong, but so are ebony moris. It’s a trade-off.
Nurse and Spirit at BASE can still destroy most survivors. Especially Nurse.
You don’t know exactly what players are running but you have a slight indication of what they are running. 4 toolboxes? 4 med-kits? 4 flashlights? Did they all join together? You can always switch to a stronger killer and an ebony without them knowing who to prepare for while YOU know what to prepare for.
Players tend to forget that if the killer WANTS to win, it’s pretty damn easy to equip the add-ons, perks, or offerings to do so.

Given their track record they are going to nerf her into the ground to make her non-viable at high ranks, you know, like the overwhelming majority of killers.
Track record? What killer have they nerfed to the ground besides Legion? They JUST buffed Freddy. Buffed Ghostface upon release and just made a solid killer (Demogorgon). BHVR hasn’t even mentioned touching Spirit.

I looooove the autumn. I was born a few days before Halloween. I also love the cool fall breeze. Not to mention the spook season is the best time of the year. I get so giddy during October.
Winter is a very close second.

I think you know the answer to that :P
@Boosted_Dwight Hey I’m sorry this is way off topic but do you play on PS4? I’m pretty sure I’ve played killer against you about two or three times if your PSN name is the same as your username.
The one that sticks out in my mind is I was Plague on Lery’s against you guys.
-
#MegHead4Life
-
As somebody who mains Spirit, Hag, AND Plague...I am SUPER excited for these skins. Can’t wait!
-
Stridor is good on Spirit but it can screw up where you phase to if your used to not using it. Survivors will sound MUCH closer and the survivors that do have Iron Will don’t sound nearly as loud as the ones who don’t have Iron Will.
You have to adjust to whether the players is running Iron Will or not.
It’s a good perk but I don’t run it :/
-
@Corrupted I’m a Spirit main myself...I know how unfun she is to play against.
Players aren’t crying and complaining because she’s a top tier killer, she’s just a boring and uninteractive killer to face. It has nothing to do with the fact that you can’t loop her. Most of the chase she is just standing still giving zero feedback and you have zero idea on what she is doing and what you did wrong during a chase but the Spirit knows your every move.
But if you say ONE negative thing about Spirit, all the Spirit mains will just down your throat and tell you to “GiT gUd” because they don’t know how to properly have a conversation on what is wrong with the Spirit gameplay wise. I’m a Spirit main and I can at least point out her flaws.
We WANT top tier killers but Spirit is so damn boring and gives you NO feedback on what she is doing. There is a reason there is more “Nerf Spirit” threads nowadays than there is Nurse. Nurse at least gives you feedback and you know how she got to you and you know her every move. She is a fun and interactive to face despite being very strong and unloopable.
Spirit is basically and unresponsive Nurse with a power cooldown.
This isn’t me saying “I want Spirit nerfed”, I’m just stating why some players aren’t exactly ecstatic to be facing multiple Spirit players a night.
-
As a killer I probably get screwed over by Iron Will more than anything.
As a survivor I tend to hate playing against killers who run the Enduring/Spirit Fury combo.
-
The killers get priority because they are the host. The prompt probably comes up just a tiny bit faster on their screen.
-
I don’t mind either as long as the killer is well designed. I love original content but licensed content can be just as great. Stranger Things is one of my favorite chapters.
-
Damn I forgot about Hag. If she gets you in the basement you are done for. She’s amazing at keeping survivors in the basement.
-
Huntress and Plague have very strong basement games.
-
I’d love Spirit and Plague. If Plague gets one I hope her censor is a Jack O’ Lantern.
I’m pretty sure that Spirit, Plague, and Clown are getting new cosmetics.
I just wonder if the event is gonna be like last years Halloween event where you could only get one cosmetic for free and had to buy the rest or if it’ll be the the New Years event where you could get all the cosmetics for free.

This may just be ignorance on my part, but how do you know they never used their ability? It could be a bug around revealing them.
You can easily tell if Ghostface is in Night Shroud. He has no red light. If the OP saw a red light the entire time and Ghostface STILL had no terror radius then it would definitely be questionable on why he had no terror radius.

Good headphones make it easier to play any killer honestly. If you are injured and on or near the same tile as me I will hear you and find you. Doesn't matter who I am. And I'll hear you breathing in close range, or grass moving, or footsteps, or whatever other sounds survivors make.
Absolutely. I’ve played many killers and heard a survivor breathing next to me and I started a chase. Usually it’s a female. Meg and Feng tend to have the loudest breathing. I also love when I hear an immersed Blendette breathing.

Because if they're not invisible? She becomes the same problem she is now. Overpowered.
You're asking her to have a tell, but still have all the power she currently has. If she's visible to survivors it really changes nothing. Because a good Spirit is still going to track based on the sound of the survivor and the scratches.
She's still getting easy free hits with your suggestion. That's her current problem. She has no tell to her ability. She gets free hits.
If she's visible and can see survivors now too when using her ability? She's still gonna be getting the hit. Even more likely now to get that hit than she ever was.
You're just asking for her to be unbalanced in a different way than what she is right now.
The survivors don’t need to know the Spirit’s EXACT location while she is phasing.
There needs to be more signs that she is using her ability. Such as maybe a slight glow when she is using her ability. She should also have louder footsteps.
She’s not even overpowered at her base kit, once you start using certain add-ons is when it gets a little bit ridiculous.

I actually like facing her, only killer I hate facing is new Freddy and clown because I hate being slowed down.
I dunno my dude, she can be annoying as hell to face. Personally I see why people dislike going against her especially because she’s extremely popular among red ranks. An extreme nerf to her though? Nah.
I dislike going against Trapper and Billy. I also never strongly dislike the Legion’s entire character.

She's onryo. Japanese ghost lore doesn't follow the ''I'm invisible" and all the famous horror onryo were NEVER invisible. They were always in your face with creepy ass twitching and movements they made towards you.
So her being an invisible ghost? Doesn't even make sense with her ''Died in the grip of a powerful rage." Japanese horror ghost lore in the first place.
Let’s say hypothetically she wasn’t invisible while phasing...why should survivors be invisible to her then? That’s not particularly a fair trade off. That would be like Huntress blindly throwing a hatchets but the survivor knew exactly where to dodge and she didn’t know their location.

@MegMain98 My 3rd time trying her and I can see why people find annoying to play against.
She is very easy to learn. You dont need to see survivors or their scratch marks, because their grunts give away their position.
Oh she is incredibly annoying to play against, people hate going against her. Nobody is denying that.
Yeah but what are the survivors like? Do they seem decent? You can stomp potatoes with any killer.
Once you get a good group on a terrible map with brown add-ons it becomes a struggle to keep pressure.
-
@alienschmalien said:
Agree to disagree. The fundamental problem with Spirit is even the most baseline beginner Spirit is gonna have a good time and get a pretty easy 4k against even good survivors.
She's very low skill gap, very high reward.
The complete opposite of Huntress and Nurse. A pretty high skill gap for a significant reward.
I’ll agree with the low risk/high reward part. I just don’t think she’s incredibly easy to play.
Some of the “easy/intermediate/hard” ratings don’t make sense. Why are Doctor, Myers, and Ghostface “hard” and Huntress is “intermediate”? They don’t all make sense.

She'd be exchanging HER sight for increased speed. It would be similar to going against a killer that can activate bloodlust 12 on command. That would still be very strong, lol.
If she’s a ghost then why she survivors be able to see her while she is phasing though? You can’t see Nurse when she’s blinking...you only see a white stripe.
-

I mean she's kind already easy to play. That's the problem. Lol. Just have ears.
Bam. You're a good Spirit.
She’s easy to play if you’ve played her for a while So is Huntress and Nurse if you have played them for a while. I didn’t automatically pick up how to play Spirit when I first used her when she was released.
You’re not gonna pick up Spirit one day and be a good Spirit.
Although good headphones make it A LOT easier to play her for sure.
-
@Johnny_XMan said:
Change her difficulty to Easy.
OR
Keep the difficulty, and nerf Prayer Beads + Collision.
To be fair she’s not easy to play for newer players. Her ability isn’t as friendly to new players like Wraith’s is. It takes a little time to be good with Spirit. Just seems easy when players have played her for a while, like Nurse
-
@alienschmalien said:
She's visible at all times.
She now requires skill to get hits with her power and is basically the ghost version of Billy. Take away her woosh sound in general to make up for the fact she's now not an invisible guessing game that only takes a good set of headphones and ears to use.
If she’s visible than survivors should ALSO be visible to her. That’s only fair.
That would then turn her into the easiest killer in the game to play and we don’t want that now do we?
Do you really think that’s the smartest idea?
-
Maybe she gives off a VERY slight glow to indicate when she is phasing.
Please. Rework Prayer Beads. That along with Iridescent Head are the only two add-ons I actually despise. I’d never complain about another add-on in DBD ever again if they were reworked.
Also when you say “lose collision” do you mean collision specifically with the survivor or collision without obstacles as well? Because I wouldn’t be opposed to either honestly.

where are all these people going off saying it's Shred can cutt loops, have you ever been looped before? lol I don't see the magic counter
It can’t cut off loops as well as a killer like Nurse or Spirit (who both practically ignore them).
It can at least do SOMETHING about certain loops unlike a killer who can do NOTHING about loops like Wraith.
-

Demo is top tier imo. Shuts down loops like a god
Top tier is kinda crowded with Nurse, Spirit, Hag, and Billy.
Demo is REALLY good...just don’t think he is as great as those four. If somebody puts him over Billy I wouldn’t argue it but Hag is a REACH.

If you're any good survivor, it's easy to loop shack, it takes time to charge the lunge
It’s easy to loop shack against most killers.
Demo is just as good at playing shack as Huntress is. His charge time for his lunge isn’t long at all. You’d play shack in the same way you would when playing Huntress.
-
@Blueberry I’d argue his isn’t a “bad Billy”.
His lunge is able to cut off loops a little more effectively than Billy since it charges faster than Billy’s even with the tuning guide. Billy won’t be able to charge his chainsaw fast enough for most jungle gyms while Demo just has to round the corner and lunge. Billy still has the threat of an instadown but if he can’t cut off any loops he is just an M1 killer.
Demo and Billy both still can’t cut off all loops with their power though.
Demo’s lunge goes faster than Billy’s chainsaw. Demo arguably has just as great map control due to the portals and can protect generators just as well.
I don’t see how he is a “bad Billy”. I’d say he is arguably on Billy’s level, but if I had to pick between the two I’d still say Billy is the stronger of the two.
Demogorgon is probably fifth best killer after Nurse, Spirit, Hag, and Billy that order (yes I put Hag over Billy).
-
12 Spirit games in a row? That’s rough. I see quite a bit of Spirit in red ranks on PS4. I dread facing multiple Spirit a night.

I mean...I am a Spirit main if you remember any of our discussions from a while ago.
I love playing her but I understand why players are frustrated and annoyed going against her. All she does is stand still and you have to cross your fingers she can’t hear or track. Then you beat yourself up for not bringing in Iron Will. I hate facing a Spirit.

The only change The Game map needs is pallets. There are waaaay too many safe pallets. The whole round is just pallet kicking simulator.
-
Favorite: Honestly there are so many. I love Demogorgon and Nurse.
Least Favorite: Spirit. I love her creepy sounds and breathing but the Walugi sounds have gotta GO.

I mainly get salt when I play a killer I suck with and lose, whenever I play a killer I’m good with and win (I slug a lot) I don’t get hate-mail much.
I get about one hate mail message a day. I do get people saying “GG” and that I was a good killer sometimes though. I just wanna bathe in people’s salt so I let anyone message me.
Yooo...I was playing PLAGUE on THE GAME map and I got a message that I was gonna get banned for camping. They were mad because I camped their friend because they wouldn’t leave the hooked area. What was I supposed to do? Leave and let them save? This dude literally said that was the last game I’d ever play and that I messed with the wrong group.
How can somebody get salty over facing a Plague on The Game map? Red ranks by the way.
That’s how my bloodhunt is going XD

Really helpful comment
Don’t pay them any mind. They’re not helpful in the slightest. All they do is bash people who have anything negative to say about the Spirit and throw around “survivor main” like it is an insult.
I could say “Spirit sounds like Walugi” and they’d send a meme of Doctor holding the “Git Gud” sign.
-
I’ve gotten most of the adepts a year ago. The only ones that I’m missing are Legion, Ghostface, and Demogorgon.
It is pretty difficult to double pip in red ranks if you don’t have certain perks. I’ll be going for adepts next rank reset.
Getting a merciless is pretty stupid because some killers just don’t double pip easily. Plague and Billy come to mind. If you kill them all you should get the trophy honestly.
-
I honestly see a good mix of all killers but the two least common I see on PS4 are Nurse and Hag :/
I would say Clown but for some STRANGE reason, I’ve seen him a little more frequently as of late.
-
@DudeDelicious Survivors all starting separately isn’t what you want though. They can pop gens super quickly especially without Ruin. You WANT them to start together, it’s not the optimal play.
-
Hag is super fun to play and not a complete bore to go against. I always get jumpscared by Hag.
We can agree to disagree on who the second best killer is. I personally think it’s Spirit. Come on, it’s Spirit. What can’t she do? Hag isn’t far behind though.
I also think it’s funny people still think Billy is better than Hag and Spirit though.
@Liruliniel Hag is waaay better than Huntress...Huntress is too map dependent.

I would definitely call Spirit top tier. What I would have a hard time arguing is whether Billy is better or Spirit.
There’s really no question. Spirit is infinitely better than Billy. She is basically the Nurse with collision and a cooldown. Her power is insanely strong in a chase and as long as she can hear she won’t lose you. Spirit has decent map pressure as well. She is just insanely strong in a chase. Chases can last less than 20 seconds if she’s good
You can’t really argue that Billy is better. I’d even argue Hag is better than Billy.
Billy can be looped Spirit cannot.

The same can be said about you. If you can't deal with the new matchmaking perhaps you just aren't good enough to face high rank killers on your high rank survivor.
It comes down to someone can't be rank 1 and group up with a rank 20 to farm BP against rank 20 killers while still keeping their rank 1 status.
Sorry, not sorry.
People who reside in objective reality and intellectual honesty have no leg to stand on crying about the change. SWF breaks perks and the core uncertainty the game is based on. To even suggest somehow the disadvantaged who have to play against the intel hack known as VOIP are not rising to the challenge while the intel hack users are the victim is DAMN funny.
To further suggest these paying players at rank 20 should be forced to indulge you and your friends (3xR1, 1xR20, exploit group) for whatever reason du jour is even more amusing.
Sweet, sweet, entitlement.
Your group, your unfair group composition, your queue times, your problem.
I say this with no malice towards you but an overt frankness in apathy to the plight SWF lovers/abusers appear to now suffer from.
You’re not a good reader I see...
I have no issues facing killers my own rank. Bring it on. I don’t care. If I die, oh well...it’s happened countless times what is another time gonna do? Not a damn thing. I can deal with any killer. Any rank. Anybody. That’s never what I said and if you would get your head out of your ass then you would be able to comprehend what I said first off.
I. Do. Not. Care. What. Rank. Killer. I. Get.
My issue is sitting in queues for ten years and playing lobby simulator while staring at the campfire. Queues are TERRIBLE for SWF groups. I don’t wanna see queues be terrible for either side. Sure they fixed queue times for killer but it’s super long for survivor. You can’t fix one and then break the other.
YOUR own personal bias toward SWF groups makes you think they’re all up to no good. I have a chill friend group I play with and if you wanna judge me for playing with friends go right ahead. If playing with friends means I’ll be judged by somebody I don’t personally know then whatever.
I guess people should be punished for playing with friends on a MULTIPLAYER game. Sounds like perfect sense.

2 in 10 you might be speaking on behalf of. The other 8 in 10 I point towards. I'd wager 1/2 of the 2 in 10 you represent are simply groups incapable of bullying anyone because they lack the talent.
Ugh...this makes my head pound.
I play killer in red ranks. I RARELY run into SWF groups who go into a match with the intention of making my game miserable. You act like it is every single game. And if they do? So what? I’m a competent enough killer to kill them all WITHOUT using moris and strong add-ons.
If I wanted to I could go into every match with Prayer Beads and an ebony and wreck everybody without thinking that they are also human. They aren’t bots.
If you’re concerned with SWF groups trying to bully you then obviously you’re not confident enough in your ability as a killer. If it’s THAT bad then I’d recommend playing Nurse or Spirit when you suspect an SWF group or just play survivor.
