Yeah, but I dont play the killer or survivor they're on much, so I have no need to "lose" them.
They're like mementos from when I started lol.
I feel the same way...they’re just cool mementos to have. I have the Halloween petals on my Meg and Claudette. I already prestiged them before the event. It’s just a cool thing to have, even if they can’t be used anymore.

If you wanna summon @thesuicidefox just say that Spirit moves grass and corn and like magic...they appear.

Damn, where's my kiss?
In all seriousness though, a Spirit with great headphones is honestly a nightmare with very little counterplay. I play her a great deal along with Hag at red ranks (rank 1) and I regularly 4K with her with fair ease. If you aren't a strong SWF group then you're #########. I think solo queue should be buffed to be on par with SWF then we see how strong she is. Perhaps they could just add a bit more counterplay and nerf prayer beads.
Hag mains get ALL the kisses! I love Ms. Wood Witch ❤️
Spirit is a nightmare to face if they have good headphones. I have Turtle Beach headphones and I can clearly hear which direction they are running. Even with Iron Will it isn’t hard because I can hear the footsteps.
More counterplay is all people want. They don’t wanna feel like they lost the dice roll. Outplaying your opponent is one of the most rewarding parts of the game. The Spirit never really outplays anyone and survivors never have a chance to against a Spirit.
Prayer Beads are another league of stupidity. I dunno if I hate PB or Iridescent Head more.
-
@Rin_is_my_waifu Damn...didn’t know that discussing counterplay to a killer who all round has little to none is crying.
I MAIN Spirit. My games are super easy. There is no challenge. You can’t do anything to a competent Spirit but lose.
Having counterplay is healthy for the game and not exactly nerfing the killer.

Isn't there 6?
There's Nurse, Spirit, Hag, Billy, Myers, Demogorgon, Ghostface and Huntress.
I mean only Nurse and Spirit are overpowered too. Hag and Billy are just very strong but not OP. Myers, Demogorgon, Ghostface and Huntress are strong.
Myers and GF can get stomped pretty easily by a competent group.
Huntress has like five good maps for her.
Demogorgon is actually pretty good, I think he is still able to get bullied.
Plague is also great but if survivors don’t cleanse then she’s just a basic M1 killer that is able to be looped.

Do you have suggestions to nerf her without making her as bad as she used to be?
I don’t want any hardcore nerfs. Just more ways to counter her without being totally reliant on her good she is.
1.) Grass and corn should move while she is phasing
2.) Her lunge should be capped at the Saya (even that is pretty strong)...the Saya and Suba should not stack.
3.) Prayer Beads needs to be reworked or at least have it so you can hear her breathing while phasing with PB.
4.) Footsteps should be louder like Wraith’s
5.) I’m not totally down with this but some people have suggested that she should have no collision while phasing.
I’m not even concerned about the “pallet mindgame” where she stands still. If the survivor is stupid enough to stand there or vault back into her that is their fault. I just feel as though you should have more of a clue where she is while phasing not particularly if she is phasing or faking it.
-
@HatCreature The difference between Pig and Prayer Beads Spirit is that you have a warning with Pig if you pay attention. She has to uncrouch and you hear her blade. I’ve only been gen grabbed by a Pig once and that is because I wasn’t paying attention.
Spirit you have no warning besides very low sounding footsteps and rustling grass which you won’t hear if you’re working on a generator since it is super loud. You’re only hope is Spine Chill.
Other stealth killers you have a warning. Myers has LOUD breathing. You can hear Ghostface’s cape. You can hear Wraith’s bell and even if he has silent bell he has an audible notification that he decloaked.
Who really thinks Prayer Beads is balanced or okay?
-
@Swiftblade131 Are you really trying to say you’re gonna beat a good Omega Blink Nurse? You have a VERY slight chance against a good Spirit. Long range blink Nurse? No way. That is EZ mode. Doesn’t matter if you’re the best survivor in the world...if the Nurse is good, you lose.
-
@Poweas. She’s unfun because she has VERY little counterplay unless you bring in the right perks. She has no interaction because for a majority of the chase she’s just standing still.
Honestly the only add-ons I have an issue with are her purple add-ons. The Saya and Amulet are SUPER strong. Everytime I use it, no gens get done and my match is super easy. The lunge is insane ESPECIALLY paired with the Katana Suba. The lunge is about 2X to 3X the length of Wraith’s windstorm lunge.
Prayer Beads as we all know are stupid.
She doesn’t move grass or corn either while phasing.
If the Spirit is good she isn’t gonna have any punishment. Her power goes into a cooldown but she is still faster than survivors AND she is usually right on their tail if she screws up her phase-walk. Nurse at least has a fatigue.
Spirit is Nurse...just with a cooldown.
I don’t wanna butcher her but I just wish there was a little more you could do to counter her besides cross your fingers she can’t hear and hope you brought in Iron Will (which is countered by Stridor so if she has that you are screwed either way)
-
Nurse
Spirit
SWF
Other killers
Solo survivor
-
Solid list! 1% movement speed might be a little bit powerful though. 0.5% sounds better.
I also believe that if the Demogorgon is traveling to a portal while the survivor is cleansing it he should get trapped and instantly die.

A lot of players new to using Plague struggle because they used to the way they would mind game using other killers.
Plague has to ignore time wasting loops.
Another mistake I see is staying in a chase to long in order to puke someone’s into the broken state. She’s best played like old Freddy: find and make everyone sick ASAP, let them become broken over time.
Survivors tend to cleanse when I play Plague as well. Sometimes I bring in double apple add-ons to insure that I get to use. Corrupt Purge to threaten survivors to cleanse. Usually there is at least one weak link that will always cleanse though.
Even in red ranks I tend to AT LEAST kill 2 to 3 survivors on average as Plague.
I do tend to puke a little too much when I should just leave them to get broken. You definitely don’t wanna commit to a long chase, unless you have double effectiveness add-ons and can give them the broken status effect very quickly. If they cleanse? Perfect. Best thing that can happen. Just gotta hope you don’t have to travel all the way to Antartica to get your fountain XD
You play on PS4 right? I may have seen you around a couple of times in my games assuming your PSN name is “DudeDelicious”. I run into a lot of the same survivors and killers in red ranks. Just last night I was killer and then switch to survivor and had the same exact teammates as the last round I was playing Hag :/

I play just fine (most of the time).
I get my 4k with Freddy most games.
But i’m a long time console player so I’m very used to the PS controller design as it’s changed so little since PS1.
Same...I am a long time console player as well. I’ve been playing console since the original Xbox.
I play perfectly fine with my controller. I can’t deny that Nurse and Huntress are MUCH more viable on PC but every other killer works just as well.
By the way I love that your profile picture is Plague. She doesn’t get enough love.

But c’mon you and I would have to agree that any Freddy player looping an infinite for 90 seconds JUST so the chased survivor can finally be affected by snares would have to be a total idiot
True...but I’ve found it super easy to bait a killer into chasing me through the Asylum. That building is stupid strong for survivor.
Survivors know how to waste a killers time.
-
Immediately once I get enough I buy bloodpoints from the shrine. I should save them but it’s too tempting to just spend them.

I agree and disagree.
If you’re up against a good team then it doesn’t matter which killer you’re using, those survivors are gonna make you work hard.
However all Freddy needs to end chases quickly is his snares, appearing in front of a chased survivor (Teleport) or make them double back with a fake teleport (because they’re close to the gen and see the Projection), and knowing how to take advantage of the visibility ranges.
I’ve gone perk-less and add-on-less, and even where i’ve occasionally “lost”, I’ve still managed to make the survivors work damn hard for their escape.
Every killer has to work for a 4K perkless except Nurse and Spirit. If you’re good at Nurse, it doesn’t matter what you run...you win. If you can track with Spirit...you win.
Don’t get me wrong I think Freddy is a great killer, he is just gonna struggle a little more than the top tier killers are going to.
Snares are also only useable while the survivor is in the dreamworld. If you’re on a very loop heavy map like Haddonfield or Asylum and the survivor just woke themselves up, that minute and half of not being able to use snares can be hell if you can’t manage to get a hit because that loop is super strong.
I’m just glad that Freddy isn’t so bad that he is a meme.

He’s quite capable of doing perfectly fine without perks or add-ons once you feel proficient with snares and get confident with mind gaming the teleport and getting good teleporting mid chase.
Freddy without perks is still gonna struggle a bit against a competent team. He might do okay but he can’t easily end chases.

Thanks. Doubted he was anyway XD.
I personally hate going against Freddy because I don’t like the guessing game with the dream pallets and the snares can be annoying but he is still bearable. Noting overly strong :/
Freddy can still get stomped by a good team. Hag can easily demolish a good team and be everyone at once. I’ve 4K more times with Hag than any other killer at red ranks. Yeah...she is really THAT good if you have good trap placements.

How's he better than Hag if his skill is irrelevant? If you're better than the team as Hag then THEY won't have a chance regardless of THEIR skill. Hags also a lot better than Billy if played correctly, I've argued it before my break from the forums and I will again. It's obvious that Hag is better.
Spoiler...he ain’t better than Hag. He isn’t even better than Huntress. I say the Demogorgon is a little bit better than Freddy.
I think Freddy is MILES better than he was but he’s still not that hard to face. My only issue is that his attack range seems super large compared to other killers. Freddy is a Stretch Armstrong.
-
Only prestige the ones you want to. I’m in the process of getting all the perks on survivors/killers I’ve gotten to P3 LV 50. It’s not a fun grind. You should just cap most of the characters at Level 50. Like...I’ll never prestige Clown, I can’t stand Clown. Why would I prestige him?
Unless it is a licensed killer/survivor and that’s the only cosmetic they’ll get like Laurie/Myers.
-
He’s like right after Huntress. I’d say Freddy, Myers, Ghostface, and Plague are all interchangeable for sixth best killer.
-
@BlueFang said:
It would be nice if playing certain killers had a reduced chance of getting maps that were bad for them
Maps such as Bloodlodge should never even appear if your Ghostface or Michael
I honestly like getting Blood Lodge as Myers. There is very little line of sight breakers and Myers can stalk easily. He doesn’t care if survivors know where he is. It’s not great if you want to play a stealthy Myers but I typically go for a more aggressive style with Myers.
Ghostface however I understand not wanting Blood Lodge. It is very hard to hide on that map and he needs to be more stealthy unlike Myers.
-
Very cool music. Just wish it was a little louder.
-
I know damn well when I see a Claudette they are gonna be running Self Care and heal in the corner of the map and do nothing for their team.
-
@Masantonio No? Even if the killer is good at tracking they all have counters that are capable without the use of perks. Who thinks Wraith and Leatherface aren’t counterable if the player is good?
The exceptions are Nurse and Spirit who you pretty much need perks to even slightly counter.
-
There is no say in how good you are as a survivor. If the Spirit can hear, you will die. If she is good, you will die. If you’re good, doesn’t matter...you’re going to die. There is no “unpredictability” the chase is determined by the question “Is the Spirit good at tracking?”
Like @Mew has said, I feel like I have no say in what happens. The chases are short and boring. Also like @Sairek has stated....nobody hates on Spirit because she is strong. We WANT strong killers. Spirit however offers nothing but easy chases for the Spirit and boring matches for everyone except the Spirit herself.
Yes, my killer main is Spirit. I love her design and she is fun to play. I do however want to move my main to Hag. She’s just so boring and unfun to face because the round is so predictable if you’re good at Spirit.
-
Meg because her backstory is the saddest to me. Kate would be a close second.

And you forgot that "The Game" is the map with like the best totem spawns in DbD. Additionally it's the smallest map in the game. Safe Pallets? Go with Brutal Strength or a viable killer and you 4k nearly every time on that map.
Actually Springwood has taken the crown of “best totem placement”. Lery’s is also good. Also why does it matter about totem placement when good survivors are gonna not care about Ruin and mow through the gens and spread out? Totem placement doesn’t mean jack when the map is total garbage.
A “viable killer”. Who? Nurse? Spirit? Those are the only two killers that can deal with those pallets and even Spirit HAS to break a majority of them. They are “safe pallets” for a reason. There is literally four extremely safe pallets in one area. The room above the bathroom and the hallway beside the bathroom. The map is not killer friendly when you bore yourself by breaking 18 pallets all round.
Yeah...I guess I’ll bring in Brutal Strength for the off chance I get The Game map. Not a very smart idea.
-
@FriendlyGuy said:
There are also heavily killer favored maps like "The Game". They just need to rework some maps.
The Game? Killer sided? That’s funny. There is like 15 safe pallets that are not able to be mindgamed. That map is TERRIBLE for killer. If you have Spirit Fury/Enduring combo it is okay but the map is so boring. All you do is kick pallets all game then the round is over.
“Woo! Yay! We love The Game map!”
-
@Taiga said:
The map should just always be the realm of the killer unless an offering is being used
I’d rather not have killers permanently stuck on their maps. It would get boring and repetitive especially if you main that killer.
Some killers just have terrible maps. Pig would always be stuck on The Game and Myers on Haddonfield. The random chance of what map you get is fine how it is.
-
Killers shouldn’t hold the power to pick whatever map they want. I really don’t wanna bore myself playing on Lery’s 50 times over and over again because killers seem to love that map.
I agree that some killers are too map dependent like Huntress. She has like five good maps.
It still gives an advantage for killers because they can choose Blood Lodge as Huntress or Lery’s with Myers every single time.
-
@ScoopsAhoy said:
You don't need add-ons if you're super amazing at the killer, if you play poorly then sure, but add-ons do in fact boost the characters capabilities to perform actions, which can and have made the Spirit substantially better, "Prayer Beads" makes her "S+ Tier".
Ehhh...I’d never put Spirit on Nurse tier because Nurse has no cooldown. Spirit still has to wait for her power to recharge. Spirit is the second best killer hands down but Nurse is in her own league.

Odd I usually do well without ruin and without addons on her at any rank I play at. I guess it might have to do with the fact I have been playing her since release. I can goof off till last second and still pull out a 4k.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/669924#Comment_669924
Watching people using NoeD on Spirit makes me die a little inside.
I can also play without Ruin and do well. I played her since her release as well, I’m just not playing het as frequently anymore due to two things. I’m burned out on killer and I feel bad for the survivors having to face Spirit because I know the pain.
Even if you’re the best Spirit player, it’s possible to get gen rushed. Plus not all survivors will be potatoes so you might commit to a chase longer than intended. She isn’t that great on larger maps without add-ons because she can’t cover enough ground AND have chase potential.
Spirit with NOED is like Nurse with NOED. Complete overkill.
-
@GrootDude said:

False because I’ve never called Spirit trash tier.
He does that all the time. If he thinks Spirit is trash tier then he obviously doesn’t play often in red ranks. I’ve died, been camped, tunneled, and moried by so many garbage Spirit players with Prayer Beads and NOED. You can totally suck as killer, but if you have ears you’re gonna do well as Spirit.
In no way is she anything below second best killer.
-
@Liruliniel said:
Spirits really good. She doesn't need ruin. When a Spirit is using ruin it's like a Billy using ruin securing the 4k or a bad Spirit. You can do well without addons at any rank as well. I started to stockpile them recently because I no longer use them.
Spirit doesn’t NEED Ruin but gens can still easily get done without Ruin. Her map pressure isn’t great without add-ons. Her power is on a cooldown and she can only go 35 meters. It had a 15 second recharge time and she wastes her power to get to another side of the map. Even if she finds a survivor, she has to wait for her power to recharge to be viable in a chase. She can’t juggle map pressure and chase potential like Nurse and Hag without add-ons. This is just base kit.
Against good survivors you’ll need Ruin without add-ons. Spirit gets pretty fast downs but she can’t cover the map with no add-ons, ESPECIALLY a map like Rotten Fields or Red Forest.
This changes however if she has double purple add-ons or Mother-Daughter Ring. She doesn’t need Ruin then.
-
I get jumpscared by Hag and Myers every now and then but I’m not genuinely terrified of the killer.
I have anxiety over stupid things so sometimes I’m a little anxious to play survivor and when I’m in a long chase my heart will start pounding harder.
I get more anxiety than actual fright.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
In the last week I've converted to Freddy. He's the most fun and interactive killer to me. I think he's the 3rd or 4th best killer in the game. Even arguably Spirit level (I'm a former Spirit main).
Freddy is nowhere near Spirit’s level. Spirit can end chases super quickly without a hassle. Freddy is still as loopable as any other M1 killer. You’re not in any more danger in a chase with Freddy as you are with Leatherface, both are extremely loopable. Spirit holds the power in a chase, Freddy can’t.
-
@Liruliniel They aren’t official polls by DBD. It’s just polls I come across on Instagram and Twitter. A majority of them have Feng, Dwight, and Nea toward the top. Surprisingly I see Laurie up there too.
Not to mention A LOT of people have a fetish for Asian women.
-
@pemberley My list goes...
- Nea
- Claudette
- Ash
- Meg (they try and most of the time fail)
- Feng
- Quentin (I see a lot of P3 toxic ones)
- David
- Dwight (Bald Dwight with P1 shirt)
- Laurie
- Tapp
- Ace
- Jake
- Bill (A lot act like they are Rank 18)
- Adam
- Kate
- Jane
- Jeff (He is a SWEETHEART)
I rarely see Kate’s who are outwardly rude...and if they try they suck at it.

Interesting.. I usually hate Feng as every one i've encountered as killer have been really rude in-game. Usually flashlight bm and tbagging.
She is well liked in the DBD community. She usually places very high on voting lists of most liked survivors (male or female).
I tend to run into very rude Nea players.
-
Some characters are more well liked than others. Killers tend to dislike Meg, Claudette, and Nea. They tend to like Feng, Jane, and Kate a lot though. At least in my experience.
If I give a survivor the hatch it’ll probably either be a Nea who is memeing or Jane.

Tbh I get hit by DS all the time, I'm not salty. I'll tunnel all I want. If they DS me, I earned it. It's not hard to catch them as Spirit anyway. As other killers, I'm still OK with it because you do earn it.
Imagine actually playing against a Spirit. Does anyone actually play seriously against her? All that happens is that survivors don’t try and let her down them while they suicide on the hook.
It’s not fun to play against Spirit nor is it fun to play as her, it’s never a real game. It’s two DC’s and 2V1.
-
Fun to play as or fun to play against?
I pretty much agree on fun to play against if that is the case.
Fun to play as? Not so much. Legion and Clown are boring as hell and Spirit and Doctor are really fun to play as.
Your opinion though. We are have different ones :)
-
Why? They didn’t leave and got whatever bloodpoints they were gonna get. Some players really don’t wanna face three blinks Nurses and Prayer Beads Spirits with moris and boosted teammates who do nothing. If all my teammates are dead on hook, crouching in the corner of maps, and not coming to help me...of course I’m just gonna let go and find a new game. It’s not worth the hassle of staying in the game.
Also sometimes when I get to second stage my controller lags or the game has a lag spike and I die. It’s no fault of anyone. The game isn’t gonna be able to distinguish between these instances and it would only cause more problems and unnecessary bans.

I do not care about console stats since DBD has been promarily a PC game and discussing balance issues on console where players struggle to get 30 FPS should never be a priority, Optimisation should be the topic discussed here. Also as I mentioned Clown has the lowest kill rate across ALL platforms - PC and consoles - so that already makes your attempts invalid. We are discussing Clown here, not other killers and he is so bad he struggles everywhere. Period.
As for the Hag I never said she is stronger than the Nurse, but sometimes she is better - like on Lerry's. She can also end chases as fast as the Nurse, so she has spikes in power and these spikes correspond well with what good Nurse can do. Difference here being as I said - Nurse power is not affected by survivors' actions.
You do know that a bunch of players are on console right? It’s not only a PC game. You have to take console into account because they have a large say in the community. I’m tired of PC players having a “holier than thou” complex.
Clown struggles. So does Leatherface. And Doctor. And Wraith. And Trapper.
I’m not saying Clown doesn’t need changes, he does. I just don’t think he is the worst. He is better in a chase than killers like Doc and Leatherface.
Also don’t say that Clown has the lowest killrate across all platforms as an argument when you said you don’t care about console. It’s hypocritical. Trapper has a large killrate across all platforms but he is still trash. Spirit wasn’t even on the list but she is the second best killer in the game. Even the devs said take it with a grain of salt.
-
@[Deleted User] said:

Clown has the lowest killrate on all platforms out of all the killers. He IS the WORST killer in the game. Let that sink in for a while.
Yeah...and Nurse has the one of the lowest kill rates on console due to bad frame rates but since Trapper has a higher kill rate on console does that make him more optimal? He has an even high kill rate than Spirit and Myers but that doesn’t make him better.
Hag is not better than Nurse. Ever. Period. I like Hag but a great Nurse is unbeatable, you can always beat a Hag. Hag is top tier, but not Nurse tier.
Clown needs attention and QoL buffs no doubt, but he still isn’t as trash as Doctor or Leatherface. At least Clown can do something about loops. Even if it is minuscule.

In my opinion he is so weak he needs a complete overhaul. His power should have some fun effects - he is a Clown after all. Maybe give some hallucinations to those affected with the gas. His addons should change the color of his gas and also apply various effects. Right now he is not only the weakest killer of the bunch bot also the most boring one. They need to rework him to inject FUN in this killer.
Weakest killer? Ehh...Leatherface, Wraith, Legion, Doctor, and Trapper are pretty bad. Clown is bad don’t get me wrong but not as bad as those five.
Clown is boring though, I’ll give you that.

Well, devs said Legion didn't get a rework, he got an "update".
All I know is that they butchered Legion. It’s where they belong though. Legion is the most mistake in this game.
