Really so your saying the devs don’t care while that they made spirit top tier Ghostface a good killer and rework a ######### killer into one of the best killers plague is garbage she’s not that good what are you talking about
Since the PTB has introduced a new killer.
Clown- Pretty bad
Spirit- Wasn’t great on the PTB and now is easily the best killer besides Nurse
Legion- Terrible
Plague- Average. She isn’t bad, she is actually underrated. She will get stomped by good survivors though.
Ghostface- Terrible on the PTB, now is mid tier
3/5 killers are at least mid tier but only one is viable against good survivors. Spirit is the only high tier killer. Ghostface and Plague are mid tier. Clown and Legion are just bad.
I have hope for the newest killer though.
-
Probably either Spirit or Hag

Sounds like Shadowborn will be essential. I can’t play Plague without Shadowborn.
What is the difference in the field of view of Shadowborn vs M&A? I usually use M&A on Plague.
-
I think in the Stranger Things series the Demogorgon is like nine feet tall? I’m not sure if they’re gonna make it to scale in the game but he looks really tall.
-
She is a bit harder to blind because she has a unique pallet breaking animation. She can still he blinded, just not as easily and as fast and the typical killers. Same goes for Hag.
-
I was always interested in DBD but I didn’t start playing until in between the Pig and Clown chapters. It was mainly Myers who got me into the game because he is one of my favorite horror movie villains.
-
It’s gets a little stale after a while but usually I get more excited when the new chapter is released. I’m especially excited for the new archives/rifts and ranking changes within the next year.

You make it sound like reworks are all negative.
No they’re not but the Legion rework put a bad taste in a lot of people’s mouth. Original Legion was terribly design but New Legion is borderline pathetic.
-
If Spirit ever got gutted then I’d main Nurse.
-
Committing to a chase when I should be pressuring generators.
Lunging when I shouldn’t have.
Chasing in the very strong main buildings when the generator is already done so I have no purpose to ever go back into that building.
Staying close by the hook too much when I see nobody on BBQ. Especially if I know it is a very altruistic SWF group.
-
Every killer except Nurse and Spirit are damaged by OoO users. Those two killers couldn’t care less if you know their location. They’ll just blink or phase over to you and down you in seconds.
I haven’t gone against very many good OoO users. A majority I go against are baby Laurie players.
-
Slugging is boring to go against. Nobody wants to sit on the ground bleeding for four minutes. However that Nurse purposeful went into that round with the intention of slugging, her build shows that. Just gotta deal with it and move on to the next match.
-
Legion
Mettle of Man is a very close second.

Making her whooshing sound direction can only give you a general idea from where she is coming from. It won't be possible to tell her exact position. The problem currently is that you cannot even tell if she is phasing or not, because the glass shards in her body are obscured by different skins so it's hard to tell if they glow or not and it is even more harder from the distance. It's just one big poorly done guessing game at this point, while Spirit has all the info she needs to get you. Not a very good design if you ask me.
That’s her intended design. You’re not meant to be able to know when she is or isn’t phasing. Don’t vault back into her. It’s that simple. A LOT of times she’ll stand there and when I run away I gain enough distance before she actually starts phasing that I hear her whooshing. She has an audible warning when she is coming your way when outside of terror radius.
I’ve had survivors lead me on chases for a long time while playing Spirit, you know why? Because they knew how to not show scratch marks. They didn’t have the basic ######### survivor build. They had perks like Lightweight, Dance With Me, Iron Will, Quick and Quiet, etc...they didn’t run in a straight line. They did things like run, then walk, then run again, and walk again. They didn’t double back into me. They fast vaulted then slow vaulted the window. You have things at your disposal that you can do to confuse the Spirit player.
You can’t lead her on chases for five generators like other killers unless she is just terrible. She will eventually catch you like most killers will.
You can’t play against her the same way you do other killers, if you do then you lose.
Her phasing was directional in the PTB and it was awful.

It's all good in theory but how then hell survivors are able to tell if she is not right next to them in a chase? There is no indication for them to make that assumption and juke the Spirit properly. That is my biggest problem with this killer.
Surviors have to make lucky 50/50 guesses what to do next. It's not skill based at all.
If that is your issue with Spirit then enhancing her footsteps sounds and possibly breathing would be an easy fix. Maybe similar to Wraith when he is cloaked? I’ve heard her footsteps while I was walking and she was phasing but it is a little difficult to hear and I was walking. It’s one way I have avoid many gen grabs. I heard her footsteps.
I really don’t think you should know exactly where the Spirit is while phasing though

Spirit is suddenly getting complaints because devs said they will look at Nurse, so now every Survivor looking to easy mode the game is moving to Spirit. After her; Billy. Then Bubba. Then probably Trapper. People will want his traps to glow neon so they don't step in them.
I’m doubtful they are messing with base Nurse. Her add-ons are getting changed though.
I can only imagine somebody really complaining about Leatherface. “hE hAs An InStAdOwN pLz NeRf HiM!!!!”
If the trend did continue it would be Billy, Hag, then Huntress.

Stridor counters Iron Will and having a killer in the game who has counterplay based purely on lucky guesses not skill is not fun and leaves bad aftertaste.
So I guess let’s nerf Stridor now huh?
A lot of killers aren’t very fun to play against sadly :/
Admittedly so she isn’t very fun to go against but there isn’t very much to do that wouldn’t completely butcher her. As @thesuicidefox said, if you remove collision while phasing, Spirit players will just adapt and find mew methods.
She predicted where you were going and followed you scratches and injured moans, wouldn’t exactly call that lucky.
The game isn’t meant to be skillful nor are a majority of the killers “skillfull”. Tell me how Leatherface’s power or Myers’ power are in the SLIGHTEST bit skillful?
-
The only reason people complain about “no counterplay” is they can’t loop her. How do you counterplay a Leatherface? Loop him. Ghostface? Loop him. Myers? Loop him. Doctor? Loop him. Billy? Loop him. Plague? Don’t cleanse and loop her.
Nurse, Spirit, and to an extent Hag aren’t able to be looped which is why you get so many complaints. Spirit and Nurse have the power role in a chase like no other killers do.
By the way, Iron Will isn’t ONLY a counter to Spirit. It is effective against every killer, try it and you’ll never wanna get rid of it.
Also how come all of a sudden Spirit gets complaints? Last year she didn’t get NEARLY as many complaints. It’s almost like people have realized how good is so now I guess we need nerfs.

Precision is not the only kind of Skill.
What in this game takes skill though? It’s not meant to be skillful nor will it ever.
I guess since I can hide my red light and moonwalk I’m all of a sudden full of skill.
I can 360 a killer or blend in a bush with Claudette so I guess I have more skill than all my other teammates.
Damn...it’s just a video game, people think everything has to take skill. What a bunch of gamers XD

I can't tell if you are being sarcastic or not. The desire to improve and get better is one of the reasons why people keep coming back to play the game more. It is one of the reasons why the game is still alive after 3 years. You can't improve at doing something if does not need skill.
Yeah you can get better but all killers have a skill cap and it doesn’t particularly take an insane amount of skill to do well.
How skillful can you really be with Leatherface and Wraith? It’s just basic map awareness and knowing the map you’re on. You get better at the game but a majority of the killers don’t take a lot of skill to be good with.
Only ones who take a lot of skill are Huntress and Nurse.
Spirit is just tracking.
Plague vomits...wow, that takes so much skill.
Billy revs the back of the survivors and insta-downs.
Wraith dings a bell.
Their powers are not very skillful. Moonwalking only really works on lower rank survivors.
Again, the game is meant to be fun...not skillful.

Billy
Trapper
Legion lmao
I’ve never liked playing as Legion...they are the most boring to play as IMO. Their power is basically giving survivors a Borrowed Time effect and a sprint burst.
This where Legion belongs XD

In order...
Spirit
Plague
Hag
Nurse
Pig
Myers
Doctor
Huntress
Wraith
Ghostface
Freddy
Leatherface
Clown
Billy

Spirit doesn't take skill lmao
Nothing in this game takes skill except Huntress and Nurse (although it is more muscle memory).
Nothing on the survivor side takes skill.
Nothing on the killer side takes skill.
Doesn’t take skill to rev a chainsaw, or vomit, or stalk, or moonwalk, etc...
Point is that barely anything takes skill. This game requires little if any.
-
I still gotta get Legion and Ghostface. Legion is so terrible that I gotta wait until rank reset. Ghostface is pretty simple I suppose, just gotta hope I get potato survivors.
The only reason I got Plague’s is because I got Rank 17 survivors that farmed each other and continuously cleansed.
-
I’d rather not lose every single perk I have on Meg, Claudette, Spirit, and Hag and grind MILLIONS of bloodpoints into them.
-

I mean, Hag is incredibly strong tho.
She's not as easy to play as Hillbilly or Spirit, but IMO she's second only to Nurse if you play her well.
At one point Huntress was better than Hag but with Hag’s buff and every single newer map being terrible for Huntress, it pushed her below Hag.
Billy only takes a little mechanical skill to use the chainsaw and Spirit requires good headphones and a bit of prediction. Neither one are really hard to play though.
Huntress is easily the hardest killer to play alongside Nurse.
Huntress can never be as good as Spirit or Nurse though. They’re just too powerful and Huntress lacks map control/pressure. I don’t even think she can he better than Billy or Hag. Huntress is the fifth best killer don’t get me wrong...it’s just that the top 4 are super powerful, there is no way for Huntress to compete with them.
-
@Marcus said:
Huntress would'nt be OP with 115% speed.
In the past I’d agree with that since she has gotten cucked by a lot of the newer maps...but now her lullaby in non-directional. That’s a pretty big change. She doesn’t really NEED 115% movement speed to be honest. It wouldn’t make her OP though. Still don’t think she’d be better than Hag even with that.

I'm biased when it comes to Spirit because I don't mind facing any killer apart from her.
I'd rather Old Legion with Cold Dirt and Frank's mix tape than just a base Spirit
Also, of course I used MoM, not an Ash main and I already knew it was gonna get nerfed but I used it because it was part of the game.
I have my SLIGHT bias as well. I hate Billy and Legion. They’re just annoying. Ghostface can also be annoying to face. It’s not like I’m screaming for nerfs just because I don’t like going against them.
So you’d rather get tunneled and stabbed over and over again by a Legion that face a Spirit? Whatever floats your boat but that’s one extreme to another.
Of course people are gonna use Spirit because she is part of the game. It’s not like she is gonna be removed. There is nothing more that I can say other than suck it up the few times you face Spirit or just DC. I rarely go against Spirit players. Most I go against lack the ability to track so I never really go down. Some rarely even phase and she turns into “woman with katana”.
-
@Raven014 I dunno what it is about Ormond but I HATE it as killer. It’s really good for survivor.
Grim Pantry can be a real pain in the ass if you’re a slow killer like Huntress. I rarely have issues with it because the map is relatively weak outside of the pantry and I avoid the pantry most of the time. I also seem to not get swamp maps as much. I usually get stuck with farm maps and Springwood :/
-
@Raven014 I have no issue with any survivor or killer perks. While Adrenaline and NOED are annoying, I don’t really care.
My main issue is map designs. Haddonfield is the worst offender, it can spawn literal infinities. Ormond and Crotus Prenn have INSANELY safe middle structures. The Game has over 15 safe pallets. Rotten Fields and BOTH Red Forest maps are WAY too large and gives killers with little map pressure almost no chance.
I also hate Treatment Theater simply because I find it boring...nothing is game breaking though.
If a lot of the maps were looked at then I would have no issue with the game other than bugs and glitches.

I took someone on a four gen chase recently and then got camped, that’s why I’m a killer main now.
It’s happened to everyone. It is why I hate rank reset. This Huntress was Rank 14 and she chased me for four gens. She ran out of hatchets and STILL continued to chase without hatchets. This was on Blood Lodge, one of the only good maps for Huntress. When she finally downed me, she camped and smacked me on the hook and nodded her head. It’s just poor sportsmanship. They’re mad because they weren’t able to catch you.
Oh well...all you can do is move on to the next game and let the newbies face somebody even better at looping than I am and see how much they DC.

Survivors can counter her with the following:
Looking at her hair when she starts phasing (only works efficiently on default and bloody head piece)
Walking (yet she can still hear you piss easy)
Running from the loop (but if she was standing still she can just phase to you and still get a hit)
Hoping that her collision in phase (which in my personal opinion should definitely not be a thing) doesn't collide with you.
These "counterplays" can be countered very easily by the Spirit player and it doesn't take that much effort from the killer to do it.
Spirit is the biggest problem in this game (even more than Insta heals, mori's, keys, Adrenaline and NOED)
You’re extremely biased when it comes to Spirit.
If we’re talking about profile pictures I could judge you by saying you were probably a MOM user when it was THE biggest problem in the game since you have Ash as a profile picture. Your profile picture means nothing.
If you think Spirit is a bigger problem than glitches, bugs, insta heals, moris, etc...then something is wrong with your logic
She is hard to counter...yes, but it’s not an instant death every single time. I have escaped Spirit multiple times. It’s not impossible.
She can hear footsteps...and? I can track people with Bubba. If you have good headphones you’ll be able to track anyone.
Just DC every time you go against a Spirit 4Head and you’ll have nothing to complain about.

I know. It's a nice change than just hooking again. It also puts those who use BBQ at a disadvantage since they won't get the BBQ proc.
The only reason I'd disagree with you about limiting to two hooks is because of SWFs. If I know I'm going against that kind of toxic group (OoO + Instaheals, key, and Instaflashlight), I will not hesitate to break my biggest rule against them.
Hey, if they buffed Remember me to six stacks, then that would also make it an anti-tunneling perk as well. I have no idea why they changed it to four, since that encourages tunneling the obsession.
I absolutely will not hesitate to play Spirit with double purple add-ons and an Ebony mori if I run into the same annoying SWF group over and over again. Honestly they don’t annoy me too much. If I see multiple flashlights I’ll swap Discordance for Lightborn, I will NEVER get blinded and it’s funny to see them try over and over again to blind me through pallets and save their friend. It’s comical.
I like moris because they are very cool kill animations but it ruins the enjoyment of every player except the killer when they can get killed within two minutes.
I feel dirty ever using a mori except when it is a SWF group who want to try a bully the killer.
As you stated...it’s mainly the players using the mori that people have issues with.
-
@Raven014 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/630220#Comment_630220
Moris aren't BS, it's the people who use them. Inherently, they aren't a bad thing, I just don't like going against people who just 1 hook then mori.
When I use moris I use it instead of a last hook. They were already dead anyway...
And that is an admirable way of playing. Giving a player a cool way of going out. That’s great that you play that way. I wish other players would.
A LOT of players hook somebody and then go right back to the hook tunnel the injured guy and mori them. Yeah you won but did you really earn it? Did anybody else have fun? I’m pretty sure that Feng that got grabbed by Prayer Beads in the beginning and downed as soon as she got off the hook isn’t happy with her 1000 bloodpoints.
If moris couldn’t be used until death hook, it would create a little less tunneling and more all round fun for everyone involved.

I don't talk about Hag and Trapper, I talk about killers in general. Not every killer can counter these buildings/loops. Even Trapper can't, because his traps are #########.
No...not every killer can counter loops. Nurse, Spirit, Hag, and Trapper (sometimes Huntress) can counter loops. Trapper isn’t an issue to most survivors because he has zero map control. Hag is countered by flashlights. Huntress has zero map control.
I see A LOT of bitching about Nurse and Spirit because they counter loops, have a lot of map control, and have have high chase potential.
It’s a lose-lose scenario because players complain about Spirit and Nurse being uncounterable because they have so much going for them. Then you have players complaining about some killers being far too weak.
I feel you because I know the feeling being looped to an oblivion playing Leatherface and Wraith. Some structures (Ormond, Crotus Prenn, ANY building on Haddonfield) need to be reworked.
As of now, if you HATE being looped to hell...all I can say is to play the higher tier killers because there isn’t much else you can do except hope you don’t get an awful map :/
-
Everything in the game has SOME sort of counter, but it doesn’t mean it’s healthy for the game.
To be completely honest, people don’t like Spirit and Nurse because they’re very strong, not as easy to lose in a chase, near impossible to loop if the killer is good, and both have the strongest add-ons in the game.
Last night I was playing Nurse a little bit because I’m getting a bit better with her and I decided to use omega blink for a game since I have never played it before and wanted to try it before the nerf. I suck at Nurse and I still managed to 4K on The Game map with decent survivors. I flew across the entire map in one blink. It is very strong. Fun as hell the play as but it’s not fun to go against at all.
Prayer Beads don’t need to be in the game period. Neither does Iridescent Head. Whenever I go against a Huntress with a mori, 80% of the time the are running Iridescent Head as well.
Everything has some form of a counter but it’s not very healthy for the game. I do believe people complain WAY too much though.
Things I would remove from the game are...
Ebony moris (Ivory and Cypress are fine)
The syringe (Styptic Agent is fine)
Maybe keys
Five blink and omega blink
Iridescent Head
Prayer Beads
Insta-Saw
That is about it
-
@ElusivePukka I love the vaulting speed increase in EW III. It’s amazing when paired with Bamboozle.
When I first got the game I mainly played Myers, that’s what got me into the game. I’ll always love Mikey Boi but I also usually only play him at rank reset. I get demolished with Myers in red ranks.

If an idiot makes it pretty clear I'm gonna be able to mindgame god pallet, I'm gonna get that hit. As for the one saying Myers shouldn't use EW3 from 30 feet away, I prefer the speed boost to the exposed status - but I get that my playstyle's a bit wonky.
Two for Pig that hurt me to see as a Pig main: let me crouch everywhere rather than alternating for silent full speed, and let me never double back on ambushes so survivors can predict loops.
You don’t have a speed boost...you are still 115% MS. You only have a slightly longer lunge.
-
With newer player who pick Plague they puke TOO much and don’t know when to stop puking and don’t M1 survivors.
For Myers it would be “Let me stalk and pop EW III from 30 feet away”

I have no idea why this post is in reply to me.
And I have no idea why there has to be 50 threads complaining about Nurse but here we are again...
Let’s be honest with ourselves, what is REALLY going to change with Nurse in the upcoming patch? Her add-ons. I’m doubtful they will touch her base-kit, as they shouldn’t.
-
@ArecBalrin said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/619042#Comment_619042
There's no grounds at all for claiming 'basekit Nurse is fine, it's the addons'. Nothing about the game has changed that would make the addons the issue. I started this thread to examine how people came to think this was the case, but so far people believe it because 'lots of people believe it' and it's a self-reinforcing cycle.
Trying to follow the chain back to it's source seems fruitless; no one can come up with a self-sustaining argument for why Nurse's addons are the issue. They have not been changed since Nurse was released, nor have they been affected by the rest of the game changing, nor did people just simply learn ways of using them that didn't exist in 2016 and 2017.
The closest there is to a change with a knock-on effect is patch 1.9, which is more an issue of survivors failing to adapt to changes to blink that were intended mainly to help them dodge blinks, which they apparently paid no attention to.
Nurse is not, has not ever been, nor will she ever be a normal killer. Her power will stay the same. She will always have blinks and be able to go through walls and pallets. You will never be able to loop a Nurse like a Leatherface.
Sorry about it but there isn’t anything to really do about the Nurse to make her like every other killer, her power doesn’t work that way. Unless they remove Nurse, which will never happen.
Base-kit Nurse is in no way overpowered by the way. Her add-ons make her stupidly strong, but baseline Nurse? No.
-
People are still making Nurse threads? There is like 50 of them.
It’s this simple...
Nurse at base is fine, don’t change ANYTHING about her base-kit.
Nurse’s strong add-ons like five blinks and omega blink need a rework. At MOST, Nurse should have an ultra-rare that gives ONE additional blink but that is all.
People also bring up “skill” and “competitive” when this game requires very little skill on either side and it is NOT meant to be competitive at all. The ONLY killer that requires skill is Huntress and somewhat Nurse.
What more is there to discuss?
-
Imma just name all my favorite for each killer.
Trapper- The new Waterfront skin is amazing.
Wraith- Candle Wraith
Billy- Raccoon skin hat with the shovel
Nurse- Black Bride
Hag- Mud Medusa
Doctor- Wild Asylum
Huntress- Grizzly Bear head with prestige body and axe
Pig- The Amanda outfit she wore from the movies although Leather Mommy is really good as well
Clown- Children Party outfit
Spirit- Burial Kimono
Legion- Neon Legion mask and knife with Susie skin
Plague- Defender of the Faith
Ghostface- Red Devil
-
Legion is very tedious and annoying to go against, I personally find them unfun to go against. I also main Spirit though and people HATE her, but I don’t care...it is my preference. If I wanna play her imma play her and nobody is gonna tell me otherwise.
You shouldn’t care what people think about what killer you play. If YOU like Legion and want to play them then you should do whatever you damn well desire to do.

Of course everybody is gonna say Nurse, Spirit, Billy, and Hag. I would even recommend one of them. I probably misunderstood the context of what was said...sorry about that.

Nurse isn’t the only viable option ya know.

Someone who has mastered Nurse will do better than those who have mastered Plague or Freddy, Plague and Freddy are good but they can’t compare to Nurse since she can become OP by equipping add ons that you’ll commonly find in your bloodweb and even without add ons she still has a strength Plague and Freddy lack, someone who has mastered Nurse cannot be looped, they will be ending chases faster than plague or Freddy will and her map pressure is much better.
It isn’t a “biased” answer since she has way way way more strengths than any other killer.
Nurse will do better because she can’t be looped, has map pressure, and can end chases in seconds.
Still doesn’t mean people can’t do good with Plague and Freddy. Nurse is undoubtedly better but you don’t ONLY have to play Nurse to win. It’s nice to switch up your roster of killers.
-
@DudeDelicious Plague is really underrated to be honest. I do well with her at any rank I’m currently at. I don’t understand why people think she’s bad, she is high mid tier.
-
As a survivor, I hate going against Ruin with bad teammates who can’t do gens. It’s easy to understand why most killers bring Ruin though. Honestly any totem perks at low ranks because I have to go around and destroy all the totems myself to prevent NOED and destroy Ruin/Devour Hope.
As a killer, Balanced Landing on a map like Asylum and Haddonfield is brutal. I really dislike perks like Quick and Quiet and Dance with Me because I can be pretty bad at tracking sometimes.
