Clown is in my opinion the worst killer in the game. He has nothing in his kit to go against survivors. Also he has the lowest killrate out of all killers across all platforms. I hope they will rework him, because I'd love to see more Clowns in the game. I like his design, I love his mori, but he is a chore to play as. His addons are boring, his power is luckluster and not effective. He is just plaim bad. I seriously hope that after Nurse rework, which is work in progress, they will focus on the Clown.

You know Nurse isn’t getting a rework right? A rework means changing the entire power and what it does (Freddy and Legion). Nurse is just getting add-on changes like Trapper, Wraith, and Hag did. Maybe a SLIGHT adjustment to her power like how Hag and Trapper set traps faster than they did before.

People throw around the word rework and don’t know what it actually means.

I don’t see Clown getting a complete rework. Just slight changes.

Nurse blinks range are just 32 meters, so even her can't reach you with BBQ without range add-ons.

She doesn’t have a cooldown though. She blinks, goes into fatigue for a very short time and is right back to blinking. She can cover ground quickly.

Nurse and Spirit are basically the same except Nurse has no cooldown.

I was actually adding hag to the nurse and spirit list.

Hag can honestly be better than Billy if she has her strongest add-ons equipped. Her strongest add-ons are easily better than Billy’s strongest.

I also believe Plague is better than Myers. Myers gets stomped in red ranks against a competent team. He isn’t bad, but he isn’t great either.

  • Surprisingly I see him a decent amount. They never do well, but he isn’t the killer I see the least. That honor goes to Wraith. I never see Bing Bong anymore.

And Hag, she is still loopable but not nearly as loopable.

Hag is loopable if she doesn’t have good trap placement. I don’t believe she is overrated because I rarely see anybody speak about her.

If she isn’t placing traps then of course she’ll just get looped to an oblivion.

  • Billy. He is as loopable as any other killer not named Nurse and Spirit.

  • Yes, only simply for WGLF. It will cut the BP grind. Dead Hard isn’t as good as other exhaustion perks for newer players.

If we are talking survivability, Meg and Feng are easily the two best.

  • Hard question...honestly I feel like Spirit would be the most vengeful and stop at nothing. She is easily the spookiest.

I was terrified of Ghostface and Myers when I was younger

The most painful would probably be Bubba and Billy.

I hate vomiting so Plague would be terrible.

I feel like Nurse would be the most gentle and remorseful.

  • No way he was joking...

Clown can slow down survivors...that’s unfair.

Wraith is invisible if he stands still and is hard to see while cloaked...OP

Legion can stab multiple survivors without a cooldown animation...hacks

Doctor can shock survivors so they can throw down pallets and they also can’t heal or repair gens while in Tier 3 madness...that’s so unfair

Leatherface is the worst offender of all. He has an instadown and can down multiple survivors at once. Pls nerf him. He is too OP. Leatherface puts Nurse to shame.

    *Sarcasm intensifies*

I understand what you’re saying, but Hag can NOT teleport to the other side of the map without adequate addons. Nurse, Spirit and Billy can have constant map pressure EASILY with no perks, addons, or offerings and still secure a 4K with little effort.

Spirit needs add-ons to have effective map pressure AND chase potential. At base I think she can only go 32 meters with her power and has to wait 15 seconds to cooldown. Hag can just keep teleporting to traps if survivors step in them. Hag has high chase potential and map pressure if she herds survivors to her traps. Spirit cannot use her power to traverse the map AND chase at the same time without add-ons, Hag can. Spirit is still arguably better, but Hag has better map control.

Nothing needs to be said about Billy and Nurse’s map pressure. Nurse still suffers a little bit without add-ons if the map is large. She goes faster than Billy but she can only go so far. Omega blink however puts Billy to shame.

  • Pig is entirely RNG based. She’s not good but Doctor is pretty bad as well. All Doc can accomplish is annoying survivors. If Pig has luck on her side she can stall the game and possibly get a RBT kill. Pig isn’t good...but Doctor has nothing going for him.

Not to mention his itty bitty shock radius is pathetic without add-ons. I never play him without the green electrode add-on.

  • @IMhereRUN said:

Fair responses in my book, most will support the order of:

    Nurse/Spirit/Billy/Hag/Huntress.

However, the top 3 are all that really matter to me. IMO, they’re the only

“All can die with no perks or add-ons” in red ranks with not much effort.

I do agree with the list, but the strength of the top 3, are so much stronger than the other 2 in the top 5 that Hag and Huntress barely deserve to be mentioned in the same category.

Hag is not far behind Billy as she can have insane map pressure and be multiple places at once. She can teleport to the opposite side of the map and down a survivor with Make Your Choice/Mint Rag.

Huntress however isn’t as great as she once was due to every map being terrible for her.

  • @LordGlint I don’t see why vaulting animations matter. Why are you by the window when she is standing still in the first place? She’s a ghostly figure. Her not having a vaulting animation isn’t game breaking and it fits her lore. I don’t see an issue with it.

I just want more counterplay to her. Going down to her feels cheap, really cheap. Like your actions don’t matter. You’re at the mercy of how good she is, not yourself.

What animation would she even have to her power though? Her hair sticks straight up when starting her power and usually the player flinches a little and moves into direction of where they started the phase walk. You have signs to tell when she is phase walking.

Directional phasing was terrible on her PTB. Whooshing while in the terror radius would make her terrible. She’s very touchy on what would gut her entirely.

Of course I don’t want her to be visible while phasing, but survivors need some kinda clue to know where she is during phasing. All they have are faint footsteps while Spirit has all she needs to track you. Survivors have nothing.

To be fair killers run perks hold gens because at base they cant keep a gen down because regression sucks..and it's not like her counters only work on her..they are all fantastic strong perks vs every killer in game

Iron Will is good against any killer. Spine Chill? Meh. For stealth killers sure but you can run other perks that are way better.

There are two perks to “counter” Spirit. All she has to do is run Stridor to counter your counter and you’re dead no matter what. It’s not like it is impossible to track with Iron Will either. Scratch marks and footsteps are still visibly heard.

I like Spirit but I just feels as though your action don’t matter against her. It’s all up to how good she is and not you as a survivor. Feels a little cheap.

  • @Chop said:

Spirit is my favorite killer in this game, I love playing her and love playing against her because people complain she doesn't have counter. She obviously very strong reliable killer, but her counterplay isn't from her power, survivors should learn to be unpredictable and read how she plays, most spirits rely solely on sounds, but doesn't mean sound is gonna guranteee her victory. The best to do against spirits is to just see how long you can last because her screwing up mistakes heavily punish her. When in a chase to her don't predictable where you're heading, avoid grass to now allow her to pinpoint you, use windows but don't fast vault them, slow vault so it cause no sounds from which side your coming from because when you fast vault it leaves a dust from the side you vaulted. Double back against a spirit also works but don't just run straight because she's following the scratch marks which will potientally cause you have collision her, if you don't have iron will this is really not recommended, but if you do you're more safer against taking the risk. Keep in mind if this mistakes doesn't work out he first chases chances it won't work again in the second chase with her, because she's reading your playstyle from your first chase. It's similar to nurse how in order to catch survivors you have to analyze them in a chase. Obviously she's a threat and can still down you quickly but the best you can do to beat her is do your best to stall her much as you can, because she still a M1 killer and it can be very difficult for her to apply pressure. Anyways Spirit is bae forever and don't give a damn for the people complaining about her to be nerf heavily.

1.) Doubling back does not work because you will both collide into each other and she’ll turn back and down you. It never works against a competent Spirit.

2.) All you can do is run to a loop and pray she messes up.

3.) She is not punished for mistakes. At all. She is usually right on the survivor’s ass and her power doesn’t take long to come back. Her messes up just means she doesn’t get the “Grudge” points. She can still easily catch the survivor. She isn’t complete reliant on her power like Nurse.

4.) I have played Spirit ever since she was released. I can confidently say I have 4K about 85% of my games as her. She isn’t hard to play...at all.

5.) All I want is more counterplay. Once you’re in a chase without Iron Will, you’re pretty much at the mercy of how good the Spirit is at tracking :/

  • Most used killers in red ranks on PS4 are Spirit, Legion (why? I don’t know), Billy, and Ghostface. I rarely see Nurse but the three times I saw her it was a slugging Nurse with Infectious Fright, A three blink ebony mori Nurse who DC’ed, and an OmegaBlink Nurse....so, that’s how it normally goes.

I don’t really complain about any killer. Just that Spirit has little to no actual counterplay. Nurse is fine how she is (except add-ons) and Billy is balanced. I don’t like going against him and I think he is boring but my opinion on Billy has softened.

There is a reason Spirit is complained about. She doesn’t need a nerf, she needs actual counterplay outside of only perks.

  • @MegsAreEvil said:

Where is the challenge for Spirit? Having a functioning headset and bumping into survivors is enough of "skill" needed to play her. As survivor there is nothing you can do cause its just hoping that you do the right thing. Guessing games are stupidly pure luck based.

Spirit is next after nurse to get "reworked".

Agreed...there is literally nothing to do but cross your fingers and hope she is bad at tracking and hope you brought in Iron Will.

Nurse isn’t getting a “rework” they aren’t changing her power significantly and I don’t know why people are calling it a “rework” when the only two killers to get one are Freddy and Legion. They are ONLY changing her add-ons.

Spirit doesn’t need a “rework”. She needs more counterplay but not a drastic change to her power. It would just make her terrible.

I don’t think they’ll change her though. How she is now is probably how she will permanently stay.

  • Great killer to play as. Amazing look and interesting lore. All round one of the best aesthetics in the game.

Annoying and unfun to face against gameplay wise. There is not much you can do against a Spirit if she knows how to track.

But clown has received more cosmetic sets through the months compared to Legion. Legion has only received one set, whereas clown has received 3.

Legion was initially released with more outfits than Clown due to having Joe and Suzie outfits. The neon Legion outfit is really cool to be honest. I wouldn’t be opposed to having more Legion cosmetics. I guess since I see a lot of Legion cosplayers I think Legion has a lot more cosmetics than they actually do.

  • In order...

    1. Nurse
    2. Spirit
    3. Hillbilly
    4. Hag
    5. Huntress

Legion has the fewest cosmetics of the non licensed killers... I wouldn't be surprised if that trend continues...

No he doesn’t it’s actually Clown. Legion has 30 cosmetic pieces in the store while Clown only has 25.

I'd be interested in Blighted Legion or Spirit. : P

Blighted Plague also might be an interesting matchup... to see what happens with two things like that.

If they do five more Hallowed Blights outfits like last year my picks would be Nurse, Spirit, Hag, Plague, and Clown.

  • I’ve see it on Meg, Jane, Nea, and Kate.

Self care in general is eh at red ranks, waste of a slot tbh especially if you SWF. Yeah, IW is good in general especially vs Spirit and Nurse. Stealth is probably the best option vs them.

Yeah, tons of spirits in red rank but I don't blame them tbh. It's boring but that's how every game is at the top tier. She just requires good headphones and to train your listening a bit. I main Hag at red ranks though and I play on PS4. What platform you on?

    Ayyyee...fellow PS4 player. Yep, I’m a console pleb.

I’m terrible at Nurse, I feel bad playing Spirit, and my frames drop A LOT while playing Hag. I’ve been playing survivor more often as of late so I’m not really focusing on killer. I usually transition between Hag, Spirit, and Plague. I’m at Rank 4 killer though so I can’t really play Plague against good survivors, I’ll get stomped.

When I get in the mood to play killer I’ll most likely be playing Hag and hope my frames don’t drop. She is highly underrated honestly.

  • @Corrupted said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/657662#Comment_657662

I agree with most of this, I play a ton of Spirit as well and she doesn't have many weaknesses. Vaults are a decent option if you quickly vault then stealth back through it (unless you're hurt.) Your best bet is to run iron will and walk. That new Nancy perk will also help vs spirit.

I’ve dropped Self Care for Iron Will. It is so much better. It honestly should be more meta than it currently is. It isn’t only a counter to Spirit but it can throw off any killers tracking.

Don’t get me wrong...I like Spirit’s aesthetic and her lore but she is hell to go against. She’s not an interactive killer, she’s a bore to face. Red ranks are full of them too. I went against like 20 yesterday when I played.

  • Usually in the yellow. I average from 100-250. Sometimes I get really good connection that is around 50-90.

I refuse to play rounds where the ping is stationary above 300.

  • Gideon Meat Plant is an extremely good survivor map. Most of the pallets are safe and it is great with Balanced Landing. It’s a very annoying map for killer due to all the pallets.

If anything it should he changed to favor killer more than survivor because it is already HEAVILY survivor sided.

  • Clown’s is really cool. I really like Plague’s though.

  • Same. I hate Spirit so much and wish she died in an eternal pit of fire because she’s boring and annoying to go against.

I still play her though (not as much). Can’t bring myself to make people’s games boring like mine are when going against Spirit.

  • @Awakey said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/657083#Comment_657083

I specifically said jungle gym because windows are her hard counter.

If you played Spirit, you'd understand why I say these things, but obviously not so I'm just not going to waste my time on someone who won't open their mind.

Girl please...you must have short term memory because my profile picture was Spirit for the longest time. I AM a Spirit main (or used to be). I have mainly played her ever since she was released a year ago. I know everything there is to know about her. I don’t have to open my mind to anything I already know.

What are the downsides to using her power? None. Most of the time you’re still on the survivors tail and you get a hit regardless.

Nurse? Misses a blink and gets fatigue.

Billy and Leatherface have a cooldown when bumping into ideas.

    Legion has fatigue.

    Plague has a cooldown.

Spirit? Gets out of phase and still manages to hit a survivor with her 10 yard lunge. I have so many clips on lunges that are way longer than they should’ve been. Equip the Katana Tsuba and Wakizashi Saya and your skill on tracking is irrelevant because you’ll get a hit everytime with the lunge.

Windows aren’t a hard counter. Tf? She doesn’t even have a vaulting animation and you can phase around jungle gyms and catch survivors off guard. Simply moonwalking as any killer will mindgame a survivor. It’s not hard. Jungle gyms aren’t hard to play around especially as a Spirit.

I stopped playing her because I don’t wanna torture people by playing Spirit. She’s boring to face. She’s annoying to go against especially since red ranks are FULL of Spirit and Nurse.

  • @Dr_Psycho Spirit is annoying as hell to face. Red ranks on PS4 are FULL of Spirit and Ghostface. One killer is a coin flip whether you go down or not. Annoying as hell. One killer is broken to the point where you can’t even snap him out of his power when directly looking at him.

Do yourself a favor and stay out of red ranks my friend. It’s nothing but annoyance and sweat.

  • @Awakey said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/656739#Comment_656739

Same still applies. Missing a phase can mean the difference between that Survivor going down and them reaching a jungle gym.

It's got a considerable amount of risk to it.

There is no risk in missing a phase attack. None. They get to a jungle gym...so what? You’re still faster than the survivor and your power doesn’t take too long to charge especially if you are using add-ons or didn’t use it all in the initial phase.

Spirit is low risk/high reward. All you have to do is have the basic tracking down and have good headphones. Boom. You’re good at Spirit. Not that hard.

  • It would only Jane that gets a sweater unless they are able to make a sweater for the licensed characters (Ash, Steve, Nancy).

Not gonna complain though because I wanna see new sweaters.

Instead of nerfing Spirit and making her drop some tiers, let's buff other killers, so they can go up in the tier lists, so we can finally see more than just Nurse, Billy and Spirit in red ranks.

I agree, except not all killers are able to get on that tier level. Their powers simple don’t give them enough chase potential or map pressure to compete with Nurse, Spirit, Billy, and Hag. You can buff Leatherface so he doesn’t get slowed by revving his chainsaw or Trapper by making it so he starts with ALL of his traps but even then they can’t pressure multiple places like Hag and Billy or end a chase as quickly as Nurse and Spirit.

  • @Puas_sapnU69 said:

    Whats so “fun” about spirit

she is sooooo boring to play as and the reason for that is because she is too powerful

even if thats a baby spirit you will literally gonna get killed

so far the most op killer who needs a little bit of a nerf

First of all....she isn’t OP. At base she is fine, she just has boring mechanics to go against. Depends on the add-ons you run and what killer you are. You’re just asking for an easy game if you run multi blinks, Prayer Beads, insta-saw, Iridescent Head, etc...

Baby Spirit don’t win. They bring NOED and camp with the frosty eyes cosmetic.

Being boring to play as is an opinion. I personally think Myers and Ghostface are boring. Same with Billy. Any insta-down killer, it feels cheap. Plus it is pretty boring to just stalk survivors and stand there. I like to chase, not stare.

Nurse is easily more powerful than Spirit so I don’t see how Spirit is OP.

  • @Thaznar Who wouldn’t want to DC against Prayer Beads? I’ve seen TONS of streamers DC or let go on the hook against 3-5 blinks Nurses, Prayer Beads, Iridescent Head, etc...it’s not uncommon. They don’t wanna go against it. Who can blame them?

  • @TKTK You forgot just about every single pallet on The Game map that can’t be mindgamed. They are all safe.

  • Is she fun to play? Hell yeah. One of the few killers that you won’t get tired of playing.

However, when you play against only Spirit, Nurse, Billy, and Iridescent Head Huntress at red ranks...it begins to get tiresome. Today I have gone against maybe 10 Spirit players. It was like a 50/50 escape to death ratio. Only due to the fact that one was memeing and let me escape and another one farmed when there was an AFK Meg.

Not complaining, but she is just VERY boring to play against. She is not an interactive killer. She’s soooooo boring to face. I’ve played Spirit enough to do good against her and I usually run Iron Will. You can hear her footsteps while she is phasing and use that to your advantage. I’m just bored to death playing against her.

I agree that she doesn’t need nerfs but on the survivor side of things, you won’t find many people happy to face a Spirit due to lack of counterplay, lack of interaction, and being very bored going against her.

I like playing her but I try to only play her if I know I have a really good group of survivors.

  • @thekiller490490 Not every killer suffers harshly from SWF groups. Nurse and Spirit just don’t care regardless if you’re in a SWF group or not.

    1. She’s 110...so what? Spirit is 110. Does that make her weak?
    2. If she traps a pallet and instantly teleports she will slap you in the face and you will be down.
    3. Not everybody brings in a flashlight nor will you encounter it every single game
    4. She can easily make an area dead with her traps and has one of the best map pressures in the game.
    5. Mint Rag/Rusty Shackles/MYC trio is one of the best builds in the game.

She isn’t weak. She is easily the #4 killer.

  • @FriendlyGuy said:

They gonna nerf Nurse. They gonna change Moris. Yes that idea is definitly worth a look.

I started with Feng Min. Didnt realize till later on how good she was as a starting character.

She’s a really good starting character. I think think Meg is the best for new players. You can easily gain distance from the killer with Sprint Burst, can be stealthy with Quick and Quiet, and have an insta-heal at the end of the game with Adrenaline. When I first picked Meg when I was new, I had no idea what Adrenaline did but I still equipped it because it was all I had...saved me many times.

Only thing I don’t like about Feng and Meg is that they are two of the loudest survivors. They breathe very loud and have loud injured moans.

    Run adrenaline and do gens.

    Self care incentivises BAD play.

    Adrenaline incentivises GOOD play.

Depends on the killer though. Staying injured against a Plague or Legion you’re gonna be fine.

If a Spirit hears you injured, you’re gonna die. Wraith gets a easy first hit. Nurse will always easily down you.

  • Self Care isn’t garbage. Your med-kit will run out, Self Care won’t.

Going into a corner to heal with Sloppy Butcher against a Legion isn’t doing anything beneficial. People don’t know when they should and shouldn’t heal themselves.

It’s not ideal to stay injured against a killer like Spirit or Wraith, while staying injured against Plague and Legion is the best strategy.

I’m getting into a habit of running Iron Will instead of Self Care.

I like Quentin a bit more than Steve because I've been with Quentin since I've started back in December.

But when the Stranger Things chapter comes out I'm definitely maining both Steve and Quentin equally.

Haven’t seen too many Quentin players in my time playing. I started playing in March 2018 and I’ve always been a MegHead.

I’ve also played Kate, Nea, Claudette. and Feng a lot but The Scoops Ahoy cosmetic has sold me on Steve.

  • Some killers really don’t need NOED. It’s laughable when I see Billy, Myers, and Ghostface with it. You have a one shot in your base kit. Leatherface is different. He sucks. Unless you’re in an open field, he ain’t getting a chainsaw.

Nurse and Spirit having NOED is laughable. Using the two strongest killers in the game and then having NOED on top of it isn’t necessary. I’ve seen so many BAD Spirit’s with NOED.

Huntress and Hag having NOED is also overkill.

Plague having NOED is a little idiotic. Most survivors stay injured all round so NOED is a wasting perk slot.

Trapper, Wraith, Doctor, Leatherface, maybe Freddy, Pig, Clown, and Legion having NOED is to be expected

I don’t understand why is clown terrible I get he has no mobility like Billy or spirit but why does he suck he can shut down so many loops

Why play Clown when you can play Freddy? Clown’s gas effect last for two seconds while Freddy’s snares last for three seconds. Freddy has much more map pressure and is able to confuse survivors more with his lullaby.

Freddy is better at shutting down loops than Clown is on top of having better map pressure.

  • Depends...if the match is going too quickly then I’ll take out the weakest link. I try not to go after them but if I can get somebody out as quickly as possible then it becomes less stressful on me. Especially if I get a garbage map like Haddonfield or Yamaoka

1 … 31 32 33 34 35 … 55
