Sometimes I play shack great and sometimes I play it terribly. I try to get the pallet down ASAP, I will never respect the shack pallet...it needs to go as soon as I can get it down.
Certain killers have different ways of playing shack. Huntress is the master of playing shack. Demogorgon is pretty great as well. Hag and Trapper can just trap it to all hell. Clown can throw his bottles. Spirit and Nurse just don’t care, you’re dead either way. Every other killer basically has to moonwalk and hide their red stain and hope to catch the survivor off guard.

I see quite a bit of threads about Plague having an “OP power” and being “unfun” so my bet is good ol’ Vommy Mommy is the next complaint.

That’s how it used to be and it’s very unfun for the killer lots of times. A rank 9 killer against two rank 1 and two rank 17 survivors will have a tough game. If he sees the 1s he will struggle to catch them, even if he leaves them to find their weaker teammate they will flashlight save, body block, etc. If he somehow catches the 17s multiple times he’ll be accused of tunneling, sound fun?
It’s not fun for either side. Imagine being a newbie at Rank 18 and you are going against a Rank 1 Spirit and your teammates are Rank 3, Rank 17, and Rank 13.
Of course being a newbie killer and getting stomped by an SWF group is not fun but it’s also not fair for the three Rank 17s’ to get paired with a Rank 1 Spirit because their buddy is in red ranks.
They aren’t going to “adapt and overcome” either. They’ll just leave the game and play another game. It’ll dwindle the playerbase and in all honesty...the game needs more people playing survivor than killer.
It should be an average rank killer you get. Not one or the other. A Rank 17 survivor and Rank 1 killer should never face against each other or vice versa.
-
I see him from time to time. I see a good variety of killers but I’m apparently not in the norm because I see Legion quite a bit.
He’s a fun to killer to play as and fun to play against. He’s not stupidly OP or utterly weak. I don’t think his personal perks have anything to do with him not being used because Huntress has terrible perks and I see her all the time.
-
As a killer I instantly get put into lobbies and usually all the survivors are Ranks 1-4. I am currently Rank 4. If it is a SWF group usually there is an odd rank or two. Sometimes Rank 11 and sometimes Rank 16. I’ve matched with all Rank 19 and one red rank. That is some dumb matchmaking to be honest.
As a survivor I wait about 5-8 minutes for a lobby and the killer is usually a lower rank than me. Like Rank 6. I am currently a Rank 2 survivor.
Matchmaking should be the average rank of an SWF group honestly. A Rank 2 and a Rank 18 should be matched with a Ranks 8-12. It would make lobby times so much quicker for both survivor and killers. I’m all for faster lobbies.

Been playing for the last 5 hours or so and I've had one dc mid game so far. I'll usually get around 1dc error every ten games or so. No idea why but I've just kind of gotten used to it and accepted it.
The one that happened today was actually with my buddy. It kicked me about 1 minute into the game and said everyone had escaped like the killer dced. Him and the other two were still in game though and it was only I who was dced.
It is normally only survivor when this happens. Killer is normally pretty good with that.
I started playing around 3 AM EST (I’m a certified night owl) and I got booted to the loading screen mid match from two survivor rounds then all survivors crashed THREE consecutive times in my killer rounds. The game didn’t state I disconnected because I still got my points but all survivors crashed. I restarted my app and PS4 and it still continued.
Honestly it might be a Sony issue so I’ll be trying again later today but I’ve never had this issue five consecutive times.

Cause you ask not for reason, but for buff. You have reason already - 800 points, it is pretty good reason. Also how do you outplay attack which moves at 460% speed 10 inch behind your ass?
Same way you outplay a Huntress with a hatchet 10 inches from you or Billy back revving you. Hope they’re bad and they miss.
When I play Demo, Huntress, or Billy I get very disoriented when survivors hug my character model when charging an attack and I lose LOS to them. I’m also a console pleb so it’s not gonna work on PC as opposed to console

"I just hate the argument “WaS iT @ RaNk 1?!”"
If you don't play at rank 1 then of course you will think this. You can't really dispute something that you haven't experienced.
"You find good players at any rank above 10. I’ve had rounds where I had a Rank 2 Claudette go down in 15 seconds and the Rank 9 Kate was able to keep my occupied for two minutes and she escaped."
So have I, but that doesn't mean it is any less true. Just because you can find good or bad players at all ranks doesn't mean that is the norm. You will generally find much better survivors at higher ranks most of the time.
"Once you get to a certain rank then you’ve pretty much reached the survivor skill cap. If they know how to look behind them and run tiles correctly then they are considered a “good survivor”."
Then they would be at red ranks. There is a massive difference between rank 10 and rank 1 survivors in most scenarios.
"There are potatoes at every rank ya know :/"
I agree, but that doesn't make what I'm saying any less true.
"So since I’ve played countless games of Spirit you’d value my opinion of Spirit more than my opinion on Demogorgon?"
Of course. More experience > less experience. I figure that's a given.
"Everybody knows how he works. It’s no mystery. He doesn’t require any sort of muscle memory like Nurse or Huntress. You can go into a game and do just fine. I’ve seen many videos on how he is played. His power isn’t difficult, basically an easier Huntress with map control."
I do think Huntress is much harder as you've said, but I would never presume an understanding of any sort on a killer from little play time and simply watching videos. Watching videos and playing are two very different things.
"Just because somebody doesn’t have thousands of hours of one killer under their belt doesn’t mean they don’t know what they are talking about."
I never said any of that.
Oh trust me...I’m at Rank 1. All. The. Time. I get there like a day after rank reset sadly. I also play on console so good luck to me trying to down survivors through corn. Not my corn blind ass.
I just don’t believe rank matters as much as some people emphasize. There is of course a gap between Rank 16 and Rank 1 but the gap gets significantly smaller as you get to purple ranks. You can die every round and still manage to get to red ranks. I don’t run into these “godly sweaty SWF groups” every round like some players claim.
I’m saying that Demo’s skill cap isn’t as large as Huntress, Nurse, or even Spirit. There are some instances like knowing when to fake a shred attack, when you actually have a clear shot, when to teleport through your portals, etc...but mechanically he’s your basic killer. If you have good perks then you’ll do just fine. You won’t miserably lose your first hundred matches like Nurse.
I also didn’t mean to come off aggressive toward you so I apologize about that.

It only takes 1s to fully charge. It's true that his lunge can be juked, but when you play as much as I do, you realize that back shredding is as easy as hitting a back hatchet, probably more easy, when you become patient with it. (which I do, I love me those damn bloodpoints.)
Back shredding with an instadown would be equivalent to a Huntress hitting back hatchets with Iridescent Head. It would be very powerful and wouldn’t be very smart to implement ESPECIALLY on his base-kit.

"They’ve played a couple hundred games as Demo. Even if they weren’t at Rank 1, why does it matter? Their opinion on Demogorgon is based on their experience playing a bunch of games."
It matters significantly. If I was just playing Demi at rank 10 I would think he's godlike and didn't need any changes because survivors at that rank play dumb and make something look stronger than it is.
"You wanted to make it seem as though my opinion doesn’t matter because I have only played Demo a few times but then when somebody does have an opinion on Demo who has played a lot you wanna throw out “Is this at Rank 1?”"
Yes, because times playing something is pretty important. That should be just common sense.
I simply asked him the rank of those games. You make it sound like, No LiER@!!. That isn't what happened.
"Red ranks isn’t the end all be all by the way."
Red ranks games are significantly different than lower rank games. The only people that wouldn't agree with this are people who in fact don't play at red ranks.
"You can find decent survivors in purple and green ranks."
Just because there can be doesn't mean that is the norm.
My grandma can smoke her whole life and not get cancer. Does that mean smoking doesn't cause cancer? No, obviously not. GENERALLY, they will be much worse.
"The Rank 2 just plays more often."
While time is a large factor, red ranks aren't just because they played more.
"Saying that, I’m pretty sure they’ve made it to red ranks in a couple hundred games."
And they simply may have. All I did was ask a question and you just jumped quite hard at me.
I just hate the argument “WaS iT @ RaNk 1?!” You find good players at any rank above 10. I’ve had rounds where I had a Rank 2 Claudette go down in 15 seconds and the Rank 9 Kate was able to keep my occupied for two minutes and she escaped.

Honestly Jane. Most Janes’ I encounter are very passive. If they are good then they don’t continuously teabag and flashlight spam you. Just my personal experience with Jane players.
Why is Kate up here? People who play her are either braindead or overly toxic but still braindead. Kate players are Meg 2.0

You're basing this on 3 games...
Based on personal experience and seeing other people play the Demogorgon. He’s been released for nearly two months. I KNOW how his shred ability works. It’s so similar to Huntress. I wouldn’t have went into detail if I didn’t know how his power worked. Just like I’m terrible at Huntress but I still know how her power works.
An instadown shred will lead to nothing but complains (honestly rightfully so) and cheap wins. Chases would end in a matter of seconds. As I said...basically Iridescent Head 2.0. Explain to me how anybody would think this is a good idea as his base-kit. Even an add-on is too much.
-
@Blueberry said:
I like the idea, blindness as a status effect is pretty worthless right now though. Hindered is a little better.
Personally Demi's biggest issue is that his shred has too high of risk for very little reward. His shred is very easy to dodge and is heavily punishing for a miss. I get something like this with say Billy for example since he has high reward with a 1 shot. However, Demi's isn't a 1 shot and Billy actually has way more control with his saw than Demi's lunge (referring to curving and direction change flicking on release) which in turn makes it much easier to land.
I think his lunge should be a 1 shot if fully charged and his lunge missed recovery should be lessened.
Nooooooo. I’m not even great with Demogorgon as I only have 3 matches played with him but the lunge being a one shot is incredibly OP. It’s basically Iridescent Head 2.0. Just get on the survivors’ ass and down them. It’s about as easy/difficult to dodge as a hatchet. Depends if the Demogorgon is good or not. A one shot lunge should be an add-on at best but even then it’s very powerful. You’re making it seem as though it’s very easy to dodge, it’s not.
Demo is in a good place, he is NOT weak in the slightest. His footsteps shouldn’t be so loud on the killers’ end though. It’s very distracting. He just suffers against a good competent team as most killers do.
-
Demogorgon is just as strong as Huntress, but less map dependent and less situational.
Playing him is like Huntress. You can bait a pallet down with faking his power, cut some loops with his power, and make survivors try and dodge and herd them to where you want them to go.
He is a great and fun killer to play as and against. Only change I’d make is lowering the sound of his footsteps on the killer side. It is WAY to loud, I can’t even hear the survivor footsteps over my own.
I’ve found his portal to be a bit weaker than his shred ability. Portals are basically only useful for map control.
Even saying all of that, he can still get stomped by a decent team.
-
I’ve played Spirit and Plague A LOT and have gotten a little bored. I just tried out Demogorgon for the first time last night and he is a very fun solid killer to play as. Demogorgon and Pig are my two current favorites.
I’ve gotten Nancy to P3 with all perks and just got Jane to P3 during double BP and working on getting all perks on her next.

Makes me struggle to not throw my controller across the room.
Yeah and then people wanna spam your messages calling you a boosted killer because your game lags out and drops FPS.
I swear I’ve had so many instances where I’ve gone through the survivor vaulting and lagged out and hit the wall next to the vault.
If becomes unbearably bad on corn maps especially because I’m corn blind as hell.

I run WGLF as well so a lot of times I just give myself up for my teammate. I get two tokens, they get away, I get progress toward the trophy, the killer gets a hook...everyone is happy.

Me and you both. My frames drop the most on maps with weather (Red Forest and Ormond) although they drop as well on Hawkins. ESPECIALLY with Hag.
Sometimes it’s so laggy that I can barely move my “cursor” while doing my bloodweb.
A lot of time when I get bloodlust my games pauses for a second and my character turns around in a direction I wasn’t facing. Yeah...console is terrible.
I’ve gotten messages that people call me boosted for missing swings. Well...how about you play Hag on Coldwind with your frames dropping and a possible memory leakage. Not exactly a fun time.
Console players need more love.

To be fair, you were using Swing Chains and Red Paint Brush. People are going to DC from that because it’s “not fun” and “boring to face”. Which I agree with, but I still won’t DC from it.
A majority of the Freddy players I face run those two “fun” add-ons.

It’s so annoying to see people act like Jendenise and say “Dc AgAiNst EvErY SpIrIt” and ”ScReW EvErY SpIrIt MaiN“. It’s just whiny and pathetic (not pointing at you specifically, just the general playerbase).

I knew she was very good then. But she started to fall in the tier lists after that, mainly because of the new maps which all hinder her a lot
Yeah way back on her release she was considered #3 after Nurse and Billy but more killers have been released that took her spot. Myers was also considered top tier at one point but now he is mid tier at best.
I still don’t think Huntress is bad. She’s high mid tier. Her, Demogorgon, Plague, and Freddy all have different strengths that I don’t believe outweigh each other so I wouldn’t disagree with anybody putting any one of them at #5. Personally I just think Huntress can do more, that is if she gets a map that isn’t terrible for her :/
- Nurse
- Spirit
- Hag
- Billy
- Huntress
- Plague
- Demogorgon
- Freddy
Just my personal opinion.

Why should your options all be fool proof? Why shouldn’t you have to guess? This line of thinking is an indictment of our community. Looping killers and leaving them with very few options should NOT be the norm. Survivors should not get to dictate how much time they can waste; there should be mindgames and counterplay on both sides.
I am an experienced Nurse main and can tell you that there is a noticeable difference between people who know how to play against Nurse and those who don’t.
I never said it was 100% foolproof. I said it WASN’T foolproof nor should it be.
”This line of thinking is an indictment to our community”.
We all have varying opinions my dude. No need to chastise others for how they think. I don’t know where you got idea that I believe survivors should dictate how long they can run a killer around because I never said that. You're twisting words into your favor
It should be survivor skill vs killer skill. However with Nurse and Spirit, survivor skill means little to none. It is “How good is the Nurse” or “Can the Spirit hear me”. Your skill as a survivor doesn’t mean much unless you’re running certain perks. You can’t mindgame those two killers.
People who can play against a Nurse will eventually go down either way. Pretty soon as a matter of fact. A good Nurse can just dominate and end chases super quickly.
I can play against a Nurse but a lot of the times she predicts right and I get downed. It’s all apart of her gameplay. If she predicts right then you are dead. Especially against a good Nurse.

Even on the maps where she's at her worst she's still viable if you know what you're doing. Her ceiling is crazy high.
Hag is obviously better. But being worse than Hag isn't the end of the world, she's extremely good. Most underrated killer in the game imo.
I absolutely agree. Huntress is crazy good if the player is good with her. Even if the map is Yamaoka or Ormond or another bad map for her, she’s still a viable killer.
I still do believe Plague is the most underrated though. At least most players know Hag and Huntress are great killers. People really sleep on how good Plague can be.

Y'all know how It ends..
Last night I got a message on PS4 that said “Plague is easy.” As in she is easy to play as and 4K.
Like yoooo...all you gotta do is spread out, rush generators, and loop her. She’s pretty helpless on a big map. She has no map control.
-
Top 3
Spirit- You have no feedback or know what you did wrong in a chase. A majority of the chase is just her standing still.
Ghostface- His mechanics are buggy and cheesy. Just a less fun version of Myers.
Legion- I despise everything about Legion. Their appearance, voice acting, gameplay style, etc...not hard to beat. Just a pure annoyance.

Nope. You’re still thinking about it the wrong way. Nurse does not ignore game mechanics, she just uses them differently than other killers. If you are trying to run her around a cow loop or car junk, you are playing incorrectly. You’re supposed to make her guess where you are by breaking LOS and running back or forward depending on the read.
Yeah...and how often does that work against an experienced Nurse? I can lead a Nurse on a pretty long chase but predicting where she is going to go but sometimes she predicts my fake and I’m down. All it takes is one mistake on your end and Nurse will down you.
Breaking LOS and being unpredictable is all you can do. It’s not foolproof though, as it shouldn’t be
A Nurse player who is very good will down you in a matter of seconds.

Any killer can 4k if survivors are not at an adequate skill level to overcome the killer, regardless of what killer they're using.
All you need to do is look at tournaments for this game. Look at which killers are picked any why. The top 3 because they're actually viable, the rest are not. I understand the devs want casual killers but they seem to be lacking on the competitive killers and bringing down one of the best without even slightly making the rest of the garbage tier cast better is a slap in the face to every high-elo killer.
When it gets so bad that there is only Spirit and Billy in red ranks (obviously other killers are played, but they go in knowing they are at a distinct disadvantage) and eventually just one single killer the game will show it's balance problems like never before.
I agree with you. I can 4K as most killers in red ranks. Not that the survivors aren’t good, they just aren’t playing like a tournament style team.
You also should not be killing all survivors every single time either. Survivor skill should matter. Not every survivor is gonna to let you down them in under 30 seconds. With Nurse and Spirit...survivor skill goes out the window. It’s down to “How good is the Nurse?” Or “Does the Spirit have ears?”
This game isn’t exactly meant to be super competitive which is why most survivors aren’t going to play extremely sweaty or rush generators super quickly. I rarely run into those teams. The game shouldn’t be balanced around tournament style SWF teams that you encounter maybe 1 out of every 20 games. People always remember the bad rounds they had and forget the last 8 rounds where they got a 4K.
I don’t believe Nurse needed a base-kit nerf. Nor do I believe Spirit should receive any hardcore nerfs. I want strong killers in the game, but I don’t see them making anymore killers as strong as those two :/

Hag is strong but trust me she does not have the tools to handle SWF. Only Spirit, Nurse, and Billy did. Now only Billy and Spirit do.
I think a lot of players that say she is still top tier, fun, or SWF crushing strong have never played her or learned her and gone against a good team. Even before the changes a good team was never an easy fight, and you had to be on your best game to win. Now even if you're running meta everything you can still get rushed like any other killer.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/802742#Comment_802742
All of this. And on top of it, by adding a cooldown there is objectively less time in the match you're using your power, and it gets bigger the longer a match goes on which WILL happen now that Nurse is much weaker.
I’ve played Nurse and gotten a 4K, but I’m absolutely terrible with her. I play on console so it’s not easy to play her :/
I’ve seen many (even average) Nurse players who destroy a team. What do you mean she doesn’t have the tools to fight a good SWF team? They HAVE no tools against a Nurse. Pallets and loops are useless because she can just blink through them. Any halfway decent Nurse player can hit most of their blinks and end chases quickly.
Billy can get looped to an oblivion. He’s not great with an SWF team. An instadown means nothing when you can’t even use your chainsaw. He is one of the better killers but not at the very top.
Spirit is basically Nurse, but with a longer cooldown. It’s very easy to destroy a team with Spirit.
Hag isn’t great with OoO and flashlight users but I RARELY run into OoO and I won’t play Hag against flashlights so I never really have any issues with Hag.
It honestly doesn’t matter if they are an SWF group or not. Most players do not play sweaty, they’re just having fun with their friends. Most of the time you get laid back SWF group. Not tournament squads where you HAVE to play sweaty.
-
What Spirit needs...
- To move grass and corn.
- Have louder footsteps
- Rework Prayer Beads
- Have a vaulting animation (preferably a unique one, like she’s phasing through the wall)
She doesn’t need a complete overhaul or rework. After seeing what they’ve done with Legion and Nurse (who honestly isn’t as bad a people say) I don’t have high hopes if they do end up “looking into the Spirit”.

Billy is better if you hit every of your chainsaws. But the question is if billy can hit every chainsaw.
How is Billy better? Nurse by far is still best. She’s just not STUPIDLY above the rest anymore. She can’t be looped. She denies all survivor defenses. If the Nurse player can hit their blinks then chases still end in a matter of seconds.
Let’s not even get into the Billy vs Spirit debate because Spirit is just behind Nurse in the tier list.
Billy is like #4 to me behind Nurse, Spirit, and Hag
-
I don’t like playing against Wraith because I hate going against stealth killers but Wraith is probably the WEAKEST stealth killer. I’d say even Pig is better. Wraith had nothing going for him in a chase. He’s not a good killer at all :/
-
I have spawned directly in line of sight to the killer before. I have never spawned right beside the killer though. It’s happened to people before though.

I struggle with Ghostface and Trapper the most. I hate Trapper because my traps always get disarmed and I hate the set up time. He takes longer to set up than Hag and has a much lower reward compared to her.
I will do and complete Huntress and Nurse but I’m gonna want to die by the time I’m done. I’m awful with those two.

Also can’t forget I got reported for using Spirit. She’s “a broken killer with no skill”. They told me to enjoy my last game. Darn guess I’m getting banned.

I use a lot of survivors but as of now I’m using Scoop Ahoy the most.
I’m still a MegHead at heart and I use the long red hair, the athletic crop top with the boots on the back, and the red and white striped pants. I WOULD use a Hallowed Blight skin but BHVR is playing games and not giving Meg one.
I also would use Plagues’ new Blight skin but as @DudeDelicious pointed out, she has a cosmetic clipping. I kept using it and it finally happened to me where it covered my entire screen and I had to DC :/
As for Spirit I use all her skins.

Only killer I hate is Ghostface
I used to despise Billy but I’ve grown to find him very tolerable. He’s not a huge threat against good survivor.
I don’t like Spirit but she’s not boring to face. At least I like her character.
Ghostface is just not fun to me. Ghostfaces’ power is so cheesy and buggy. His stalking mechanic is just to cheese an instadown and be a buggy hot mess. You either can’t reveal him in plain sight or he gets revealed behind a wall. He is so inconsistent.

Look at his perks, he isn’t a noob.
He didn’t look like a noob due to perks. But he was a lower rank than all the survivors and didn’t use optimal perks for the build. He could’ve been a decent killer but the build would’ve been better if he swapped NOED and STBFL.

He isn’t unbeatable by any means. It’s just incredibly boring and tedious to sit on generators for an incredibly long time.
I personally just don’t like Freddy in general. Going against him makes me wanna sleep IRL. I snooze. Him and Ghostface are the only two killers I find boring to face.

Survivor is more chill and relaxing because you’re not always actively in a chase with the killer. You have much more down time. Getting chased isn’t even a threat most of the time.
Killers are always on a time crunch and have to chase all four survivors. Some killers can be relaxing if you’re good with them because you easily win chases. Sometimes I’m very relaxed playing Spirit and Plague because I’m so used to it.

Best: Hag. Spirit is good as well I just don’t care for the head piece. I wish she had a different hair style.
Worst: Plague. Plague is one my mains but her is kinda underwhelming. It’s good but not up to par with the other ones.

Always a Blendette. They lick the wall and self care in the corner and die within ten seconds of a chase beginning. Then they blow up generators and crouch away and I get spotted and get hooked. Then I get farmed by Blendette.
Blendettes get me killed all the time.
