  • I dont think anyone has ever liked going against a legion……ever. THEE most boring killer to go against. 100%

what killer were you guys playing?

    out of curiosity

but yes I have had this too

I was Oni, he was Spirit. It just sucked because he was short on time as is. We had planned this out and he didn’t have enough time to queue for another 15 minutes.

  • Mechwarrior 5, Marvel Rivals, Battlefront 2.

When I am not doing that I am reading dark romances on my kindle or taking a nap 😴🤣

In 2v8 I love it. In 1v4 it leaves a lot to be desired. I really wish we had alternate win conditions.. Generators have caused so many of the people I play with to put the game down, due to the objective that is Gens just being boring and not fun to do. It's like watching a load screen.

To be fair a lot of the people are only doing gens. They hardly ever take chase or get altruistic in anyway so they just sit on a gen which is very boring.

1v4 needs more love for survivors for sure. Soloq needs a buff, survivor perks (certain ones) need to show up, example Jane’s perk solidarity or deliverance.

Survivors need more items to work with and overall perks need to be freshened up.

Spine Chill's current effect is that it lights up if the killer's got line of sight on you within a certain distance, and while it's lit up, you get a small action speed bonus to certain actions including generator repair. It's not great, and while you could buff those effects to make it a "finish specific actions in the killer's face" perk, I'd rather move it to anti-aura.

My proposal from a while back is the following. Scrap the current effects, and instead:

    • When the killer is reading your aura, Spine Chill lights up and plays an audio cue. For the duration of the aura reveal and for 3/4/5 seconds afterwards, your grunts of pain are suppressed.

The idea being, it'd be a tool for tracking what the killer has and when you're being revealed, plus a small extra effect to let it scale with perk tiers. That part wouldn't be that impactful, but it'd be a cute thematic thing- a chill runs up your spine, and you hold your breath…

Crucially, the perk's icon should only be lit up while you're revealed, so the extra effect doesn't hinder the information gain.

So kinda what happens in 2v8 when your aura is being read by the killer with the addition of what you said of it lighting up.

They have to have LOS though for this to work currently with spine chill?

    Thank you for explaining!

Whatever x amount of players that like survivor is far outnumbered by people enjoying killer. I think this is proven by killers queues being almost infinity. So, it's not just this forum.

“Whatever x amount of players that like survivor is far outnumbered by people enjoying killer.”

Respectfully - I am going to disagree on this.

  • @jesterkind said:

I think that's a great idea for a perk - I've championed Spine Chill doing this for months - but it'd be far, far too much for a basekit feature. I'm not usually one for hyperbole, but I think in this specific instance it's fair to say this would kill auras used to surprise or sneak up stone dead, and that's a good chunk of value from a lot of aura perks.

I think it's broadly fair when specific perks give themselves away, either in the one-time popup that shows when you're first affected, or in the fact that they do something else that serves as a warning like the Oblivious on Alien Instinct. Handling aura tells this way allows some aura perks to still be sneaky, which is healthier overall for the game's variety.

It's also not really a solo queue suggestion, this benefits solo queue and SWF pretty much equally. If you want to be really mean you could say it helps SWF more, since they can call out single-target aura perks to their team.

    Fair enough! Great point!

Also spinechill! Tell me about it? Do you still use it? Can it be useful? I have never tried it before and I don’t know what this perk is or how it benefits the survivor.

I think the queues sort of speak to the issue. 2v8 there are just factually too few survivors and too many killers. How ever much specific people enjoy it, most don't.

The devs have stated over and over this wasn’t the case though statistically on their end..They had mentioned we still have the same overall amount of survivors playing it’s just that we have a huge influx of killers rolling in. (Consider that people that don’t play for a while and only come back specifically for 2v8…Literally one of my friends hasn’t played dbd since the last 2v8 just to play killer with me)

  • I want the option to turn map offerings into BP. So many unused offerings I wanna convert.

BP offerings should be universal to every character.

That's good, but it's a bit obvious that most people don't.

If you talk to the minority here than yes. I don’t think you’d have the amount of survivors that we do have including myself, if we didn’t actually like it.

  • @Xyphus said:

Oh, well, pardon me then, I guess.

I don't think of it as nessecary. I rather guess it wouldn't really benefit the gameplay as much as you'd imagine it. New Survivors would hide way more cause they're afraid to get found - which results in free slowdown for the killer. And good Survivors would benefit cause they immediately know whick perks the Killer runs and would find a way to use this to their advantage as well as not being afraif of engaging in chase anyway.

All in all - I'm against this for now or just don't care about it - choose one ^^

If you make it a perk on the other hand I wouldn't mind, cause you actually have to bring something to get the info of your aura being red - with a side effect on top of it, to make it worth running.

I honestly don't even understand why it exists in 2v8. In that mode it gets you absolutely nothing, imho. Your aura is read like 50%+ of the whole match.

”I honestly don't even understand why it exists in 2v8. In that mode it gets you absolutely nothing, imho. Your aura is read like 50%+ of the whole match.”

    This 💯! Exactly my thoughts.

Thank you also for engaging with me. I appreciate it.

Your perk idea is pretty neat for it. 🤔

  • @mecca said:

It is wild to imagine that the answer is forcing killers to play survivor rather you know, making survivor fun and interesting to play. The devs are way too scared of offending killers it seems. It's an odd approach that deserves looking into why is fun factor such a low priority for survivor role.

    I enjoy playing survivor :/

You're using nobodys thinking but you're own.. That person was talking about free info and you compare it to perks and killer powers..

    Edit: And Add-Ons

The feature in 2v8 lets you know if your aura has been revealed. It’s not “free info” other than “Oh! You’ve been spotted. Be careful”

There’s more than one mechanic in this game that offers “free info” and it shouldn’t OR should it?

The point of the OG post is, should we have this feature or should we not in 1v4?

You wrote on this thread but gave no feedback which doesn’t help provide anything.

Doesn't that destroy the whole not wanting bots in matches if it just yanks you outta the match?

I guess but I am not sure how else they will do it? Who is gonna take my spot if it’s my turn to play killer and I am in a match as survivor while I wait?

Still hard to believe it happened to me twice, with the same character.

Being a Freddy main in particular was genuinely not a good choice. But I truly love the character, so what could I do?

It’s so good to see you again generalV 💯❤️ I have missed you!

  • It’ll be a nice fix. It’ll help queue times for killer, and also give them something to do while they wait. I would mind making some BP while I wait haha.

More than likely if you are playing Survivor and it’s now your turn to be killer. If you’re in the middle of a match, you will get yanked, a bot probably will take your place.

  • @Shinkiro said:

Not in regular 4v1 at least. Giving away parts of the killers loadout for free is lame and it stunts survivors ability to learn and intuit what perks the killer might have because they are being fed information for nothing. Chases would just become even worse and less fun because people will pre-run to a safe place before you can even capitalise on the aura reading, extending chase time and reducing killer pressure for free.

I dont think throwing around free information is good for the game in general.

Then let me pitch this at you if we are using your thinking perhaps? (Genuinely with respect)

Sadakos are TV auras need to be removed then. That should never have been given to survivors. It throws my chase of when they know exactly where I am coming from OR her DIRECTIONAL lullaby should be removed/reduced. Survivors pre run in the exact opppsite direction because they know where I am coming from.

Perks like Dissolution provide an icon for survivors. The survivors not in chase get the liberty of seeing the killer is using it. This should be removed too. Pigs Iri addon where she can see your aura via walls while crouched should also lose its warning. ⚠️

Not saying I agree with you or don’t agree. Just pitching stuff at you.

False. Killer Queues have always taken a long time in 2v8. Every time.

Scourge Hook: Monstrous Shrine is one of the very few perks in the game that promotes a healthy gameplay loop cycle. Because it requires being x meters away from the hook to gain its effect, it encourages less camping or tunneling. It also encourages survivors to be altruistic for their teammates and punishes survivors for ignoring their teammates and gen rushing.

Unfortunately, the % at which Monstrous Shrine moves people to the next stage is too low to have any significant change in gameplay. I think perks like Monstrous Shrine and Hex: Devour Hope are some of the best perk designs since they promote healthy gameplay, and perks like Monstrous Shrine deserve to be stronger to promote healthier gameplay. Please consider buffing perks like monstrous shrine and making more perks that promote healthy gameplay!

Thank you all for your time, and I hope you all have an amazing day and week!

I would totally be down for that. I think Grim Embrace is the same way. Promotes healthy gameplay. Not sure why they nerfed it a while back. It really didn't need it.

  • My duo and I have been having a blast! We played 8 games last night only lost 1.

It’s been a breeze. Gens are so fast and easy to do. Legion sucks though. Tired of seeing him. Hate that killer.

This bug is still happening in the current iteration of 2v8. I understand if there’s no ETA on a fix currently but is the team aware of this issue?

He did say he was passing it along to the team. I am sure they will fix it soon. They have fixed other bugs during 2v8, like map issues just as one example. Also I think the question should be. "This bug was a problem in the last version of 2v8 and it was reported. Why weren't we able to fix it? Do we need more data?"

  • You don't have any gen slow down other than Corrupt and I don't really count that exactly.

  • Its working for me perfectly. No issues here. I am also on Ps5.

  • @SoGo Since the hotfix is it any better for you?

  • An idea - could be a bad idea not sure. What if when survivors were actively repelling the birds away they suffered from a 3% hindered status effect? The birds are literally biting them but the survivors just "walks it off" Lol.

Well I report it here, guess it's kinda counts. I'm not sure if it's a bug but there was nothing about that in a patch note and if it's intentional change it's kinda f up.

I think you should report it as a bug just incase. Its likely not in the logs yet. Nemmy just got brought back today after all. I doubt it was something they MEANT to put in the game.

  • Uh Oh. One game breaking bug fixed to another xD

I disagree. The game was fairly balanced previously for the regular public match, resulting in a healthier game mode. Even with it being a healthier mode, there were still long queue times for killers. You want a game that hands you victories because you don't care about balance or actual PvP gameplay, is all I'm seeing. You want the Dead by Daylight experience where they balance entirely around a survivor premade on voice, while the regular match is an easy stomp because randoms stand no chance.

Just got out of a match where a streaming Oni complained about their 35-minute wait times.

My wait time is 10 minutes to play killer on 2v8.

" You want a game that hands you victories because you don't care about balance or actual PvP gameplay, is all I'm seeing."

This is false. Just prejudgment/assumption of me. I never said any of that.

But you seem to have both sides of the story all figured out so I will just lay it here.

  • @Shirtless_Myers said:

This should surprise nobody. The devs cater to killers and genuinely treat the survivor role like straight garbage. There's never a reason to touch the game unless you enjoy playing Killer. Every patch has made it clearer how poorly balanced this game is and why I only bother with half of it unless I'm forced to touch Survivor for challenges.

If this weren't the case, they wouldn't offer a +400% bloodpoint bonus to survivors. Nobody wants to play a punching bag, and that's exactly how they're designed.

Most versions of 2v8 have been survivor sided. 8 Instead of 10 gens. Herbs that instantly heal and remove entire hook states, serious amounts of aura readings on the killer, notifications when your aura has been read even by stealth killers, gen speeds faster than lightning, survivors recreating pallets and god pallets. Both sides have to deal with their fair share of BS. 2v8 isnt meant to be perfect. They can fine tune the rest.

Sure but the problem is I have no control over my 7 other team mates, who of course choose to bunch up, repeatedly heal then all get free hit with frenzy again.

Oh and of course, it is no surprise that the combo I see is…. Legion and Oni.

Again, I cant believe they thought this was a good idea.

You think that's bad wait till Plague gets here. This game mode is meant to be 100% perfectly balanced. That's the fun in it. Its PURE CHAOS! Just roll with it. If you don't like it, than by all means of course 1v4 is an option.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3927901#Comment_3927901

I am getting up to 7k hours in this game, I know how to verse Legion.

If you are able to avoid every frenzy hit and the Legions you face fall for FOV techs (do any fall for this other than completely new players?) then you are facing really stupid or really baby Legions, or you are the best player I have ever encountered in this game.

I am not sure you're understanding the problem to be honest.

I understand exactly how he works. Congrats on the 7k hours….I guess?

If you know how to verse legion than you would know this isnt an issue. I find legion boring to play as and against. I get it, hes miserable to go up against. Doesn't matter if its 2v8 or not. He sucks in a 1v4 as well. My point is..he is counterable.

  • @MaTtRoSiTy said:

I don't follow announcements very much.

I just assumed because they added Oni and for how much Legion breaks this mode, they would have realised that perhaps adding a killer that gets cheap free hits back to back and combining them with Oni is a really bad idea?

You can stun him out of his power if you’re patient at a pallet. If that is something you struggle with you can really mess with his FOV making him whiff.

I wouldn’t say he breaks 2v8. He’s just a boring killer to face.

  • I want to launch at least 10 crows at once, thank you. 🤪

  • Sure, I can once I get home from work.

  • @MaTtRoSiTy said:

Why wouldn’t he be in it? They added him to the roster.

That would be funny! I love it! If I may, I’d like to add to it, to your idea. Where, while he is eating and chewing the wires, he stays on the generator continuing to do making the generator regress slightly grabs him and throws him into the ground. 🤣

That is legit what I'm talking about, he has no fatigue after bound and the movement speed to basically instant down you it makes no sense.

I agree. This is my biggest frustration with him. I hate going against.

  • He should not be able to use his power and while mid power also cancel his power? I couldn’t even make it to the pallet right in front of me because of that. How is that fair?

Let's get it out of the way and put it this way. Is the go next prevention system going to be necessary? 100%. Will the devs mess it up big time? Yes they will. What they proved with the abandon system is they'll have an idea of what they want to count and do the cop out way of doing it. Oh we want survivors to be able to abandon if they get slugged? Let's have survivors being carried and hooked count as being slugged and make it so that it still activates if they're the only one left at which point they're just being mori'd anyways. We want killers to be able to abandon if a generator isn't worked on for 10 minutes? Oh let's just make it so the timer is only effected by if the generator is completed.

How will that work on the go next system? Let's give an example based on what little we know on it. "Oh we want it to work on survivors who run to the killer to get out of a match? Let's just make it so it's based on if they're the next chased and downed." In other words, "Let's have survivors being hard tunneled punished with this system." I'm hoping since they're planning on making the punishment a dc penalty and losing an entire grade that the system is a little more strict than how they did the abandon system, but then again if they cared about these systems working accurately, they would have started with the abandon system.

Also with the abandon system, you have somebody on the hook and you happen to have two people on the ground, it shouldn’t give everyone the option to just abandon the match.

At least give the killer a chance to put everyone on a hook. Survivor shouldn’t just be able to up and leave because they want to.

I was playing the plague earlier and this exact scenario happened. I had someone on the hook. Everybody was infected. I was checking on a nearby. Jen, a survivor went for the hook, save poorly. I might add and ultimately they went down next to that person. Which left one person remaining to . Once everyone just disconnected. I was literally actively hooking. Everybody, I never slug.

  • @Straywoods said:

It would be great if The Twins got a buff because Charlotte is really difficult to use, and poor Victor keeps getting stomped on like mashed potatoes. My idea to make Victor a scarier ankle-biter is that when he lunges at an injured survivor, he drags them back to Charlotte. I’m not sure how Victor would physically manage to pull a downed survivor, but it would be awesome.

It would have to be a slow drag lol.

Yeah but I've lost tons of games that were very winnable because some idiot decided that wanted to not play the game after readying up and sitting through the queue rather than before.

There's plenty of variety, there's over 40 killers and hundreds of different perks. Going against players that are consistently better than you is not a "lack of variety." If I had to choose between not being able to occasionally skip out on a super sweaty game, or have anyone be able to go next whenever they want to avoid the DC penalty, I'd take the former. Things happen, but as a general rule of them, don't press the ready up button if you're not willing or ready to play.
