Am I happy about it? No. Nobody is. But I just move onto the next game. If someone can grab me then great, but otherwise I spend that time looking at what I did wrong and try to improve on it next game. Half the problem is exactly what you mentioned. People get mad at the killer instead of realizing that it was also their mistakes that got them caught. Also, if an experienced killer is camping then how experienced are they really?
People who camp do it because they want to, they dont care about pips/bloodpoints.

So you have self care + botany knowledge! In solo queue I run DS only because I want to be sure there is an obsession perk in the match. It does not do much for me, as a solo player.
On the other hand, as a killer, there were multiple occasions when I hooked Surv1 (in full health at the beginning if case), than chased and hooked Surv2, also in full health at the beginning, in the meantime Surv1 got unhooked and fully healed, I returned back to the gen, chased Surv1 again and got 59th second DS.
Self care is for bad players who'd rather waste 1 minute healing instead of doing a gen. I'm not gonna use 2 perks slots so i can still heal slow on an already 3 perks slot game since kindred is just a must.

Solos did not run OoO. It was just an overpowered tool for the SWF doom squads. Still, it was in need of this nerf.
I actually enjoyed running OoO and I play solo.

I said "if you can help it".
If someone is on the hook. Your injured and the other 2 are healthy. Best case scenario is they make the save. It's why I almost always run Kindred when I solo. If everyone is injured then by all means, go for the save.
I always run kindred and a lot of times I end up having to be the one to go for the save since the other ones are stacked on gen.
-
Solo Player at red ranks.
A lot of people at red ranks aren't very skillful, which leads me to believe they got carried there in a SWF.
Having a SWF in your team when you're solo can be a 50/50, some are really selfish and others are competent.
I run kindred and still get left to die on first hook quite a few times, even when the killer is nowhere near me.
I think solo would be more enjoyable if they made it more difficult to pip in SWF.

It's a new player perk, leave it alone. It might be pretty strong at low ranks due to how people play there but I can promise you at high ranks noed is a pretty big joke and almost never has real impact.
If it's a new players perk disable it to people at red ranks.

If they’re stupid enough to do that, then they’re also just stuffing around not doing anything else either.
I think very few players are going to do nothing just for the sake of holding on to a potential killer stun.
You underestimate how selfish people are in solo q.

I play solo. So should we just let a team mate die on hook if everyone is injured? lol

Maybe they released new info. The last message I saw didn't specify that. If more than 2 people have DS up then the killer is probably performing well and your going to lose anyway.
My issue would be per example: you're injured, you save a team mate from the hook, they have DS. You need to get healed, They wont because theyll lose DS.

They said if you heal someone else DS will deactivate.

If your teammates are that bad you have many more problems to worry about than that.
Are you new to the game? How many good survivors do you see at red ranks that werent carried there by their SWF? not many.
-
No, he's still going to be boring to play as and go against.
-
Honestly as a solo player I'm kinda worried about the fact that people wont want to heal me so they wont lose their DS.

And

So is the fact that all huntresses sweaty.

I don't use DS and play solo and I'm 99% of the time in red ranks

I don't think self care is going to matter because by description it appears that if you self care it's gone too. We don't know yet but I could see that being a thing. It says Healing which would include yourself.
I didn't mean the DS user using self care, I meant people who dont have DS

I haven't played DbD at all in well over a month.

And if u read what I said there are moments when doing a gen is better for the team then just healing some1 on death hook but since you stuck with hypotheticals I wrote my own.
As someone who majored in game design, I do care about hypothetical situations, because at the end of the day, they also exist and are part of the game.
If you don't care about them or don't want to add anything related to the situation that I'm mentioned, sure, but I don't see how that adds anything of value to anything that I've said.
-
So what you're saying is that it's easy to rank as killer so you need to go afk to derank to face weaker players?
-
@Terro said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1922712#Comment_1922712
But what if they were only trying to survive to get those sweet points? How is that selfish?
Because, if you read what i said, it says they were not on death hook, and they could also be healed....????????
-
@Terro said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1922706#Comment_1922706
So if u want to argue around hypotheticals we can keep talking around each other. You not finishing the gen and standing there t-bagging for a heal is completely selfish. Refusing to do anything until healed in gear of death is selfish. It's on the same level of some1 not doing anything to preserve their DS to survive.
You're basically saying that someone's DS, that might have only been hooked once, is more valuable than a team mate being alive.
Now, who's really selfish?
-
@Terro said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1922697#Comment_1922697
Yes. Certain situations call for finishing the gen over healing some1. More ppl are likely to survive in those situations.
Me dying because someone didn't heal me because they wanted to keep their DS isn't me being selfish.
A solo survivor isn't selfish for wanting to survive by wanting someone to heal them. Most backwards mentality.
-
@Kebek said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1922681#Comment_1922681
I don't care if people use selfcare, find teammates ot heal them, bring medkits or just stay injured the whole match. I want survivors to do clever decistions based on the circumstances they are in.
Playing smart is the strongest thing survivors can do, no perk will help solo survivors if they act like headless chicken, doing things that would normally kill them and getting used to not beiing punished for that. If there was actual good match making we would see that solo survivor experince isn't that bad when your teammtes know that they're doing.
No brain will help a solo survivor if the team isn't actually playing as a team. Like it doesn't matter me being in red ranks if my team mates are rank 15-20. You cant do great ona 1v1, the game wasn't balanced that way. You're underestimating the stupidity of a lot of red ranks who got carried there because they only played SWF.
-
@Terro said:

I am selfish for wanting to survive and get points? Lmao
-
@Terro said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1922669#Comment_1922669
Depends on the situation. In certain situations, it's better for the team to just finish the gen in front of us, even if the other person is on death hook. You might call it selfish but your sacrifice was not in vain. Other times, yeah you don't lose much for healing the other person.
The new DS requires ppl to heal each other cuz it doesn't deactivate on being healed by others. Being a true selfish jerk is going to bite them back anyway. It might actually lead to ppl forming non-selfish habits.
My sacrifice is in vain because I don't get points for my team escaping.
-
Stake Out is only good to do those hit great skill checks tome challenges, otherwise, I don't think even with that buff would make it worth it, at all

@Sandwich_Jesus said:

@Kebek said:

You can always find some other way to heal or someone else to heal you other then the person you just uhooked, at that stage, you should be healing them as they have DS and won't be able to heal you. Overall making saves when injured is a bad call in solo unless desperate or you know it's safe.
Besides that, beiing injured is not the end of the world. If you're good you'll heal about 2 times per match as long as you don't get potatoes in your team, then it's a lost game no matter what you do.
Being healed when you're on last hook is indeed the end if you get caught.
So you're saying more people should use self care?
-
Remember a few months ago when the devs said they were going to buff Vigil? Still waiting.

I can, people didn't use pop as it was intended, to kick a gen after hooknig and were chasing and dowing survivors to stack pop uses. With less duration, that's far far less likely to happen as you don't have time and you'll lose your pop if you commit to a chase.
Same with DS, people kept using it to cheese objective insted of using it to get away from beiing tunneled so it's getting conditions that prevent that from happening.
But POP didn't stack....
-
@Kebek said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1922659#Comment_1922659
Why would you want to keep your DS and not heal if killer isn't nearby ? Will you get tunneled after killer catches someone else, hooks them and comes back some 30-40s later.
You hypnotizing that people will just do nothnig for 60s for the sake of their keeping their anti-tunneling perk active when they aren't beiing tunneled at all. If they do that, they deserve to lose since they wasted too much time.
As I said, you and your teammates both will have to evaluate the situation if it's save to heal, if it is, you can both heal as killer is far way. If it isn't and he's around ready to tunnel you, don't heal and try to get away / use locker.
Don't ask me that, I'm not the one trying to keep my DS, i'm the one trying to get healed. Even at red ranks, I've gotten times when a team mate refuses to heal me, even though I'm on death hook. New DS will just make that happen more often. I've had enough 3men SWF in my team while I play solo in 4k hours to know how selfish those get.

You can't compare POP going from 60 seconds to 45 seconds to the DS nerf though.
You could have used the undying example, the "haggling" was the same.
-
@Kebek said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1922648#Comment_1922648
So, you're saving injured while killer is close or what ? You won't get tunneled if killer is across the map and you can heal each other,no needing DS active but if killer is nearby, don't heal right there. Go find a pallet or something and heal each other out of danger.
This is exactly the bad behaviour old DS supported, I have DS so I can heal under hook risk-free not wasting any time because if killer comes here, he's tunneling me and I get a free stun/stall. Dumb teammates won't heal you anyway, DS or not. That's a matchmaking issue, not a DS issue.
You missed my point entirely. Solo survivors wont have people to heal them if they want to keep their DS. I never mentioned it was under the hook or not. No one stays under the hook for 1 full minute.
-
@Volfawott said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1922610#Comment_1922610
It's sad but that's the problem with solo survivor
You can never control just how bad your teammates are going to be. This is why I've always considered actually buffing solo survivor to be next to impossible even with something like base kindred there no guarantee that people are actually going to come and save you.
Yea but I feel like this change is just going to screw solos who dont use DS actually myself.
Going to be denied a heal when you're on last hook because your team mate who is going to be useless for 1 minute doesn't want to lose DS isn't going to be fun, at all
-
@Kebek said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1922608#Comment_1922608
Them not dying to tunneling killer is what makes them not useless. They can get away, heal and then do gens, when they're no longer in danger of beiing tunneled.
If people just used their brains and evaded a killer insted of healing under a hook and then go pikatchu face when killer gets back and downs them they wouldn't be tunneled as often as they are.
And how is people refusing to heal me because they have DS going to help me in solo Q? Should everyone just start bringing self care?
-
Yea, as a solo survivor I'm also worried about them being useless for a full minute and them not wanting to heal me.
Seems like we'll be seeing a lot more self care in games, just what we really needed....
-
@Kebek said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1922596#Comment_1922596
And they would use unbreakable and continue doing gens etc. Meaning I still can't punish them for doing dumb stuff in my face unless I'll babysit them and lose the match because of that.
So, what is your plan to make them not useless for the solo survivors who are in the same match trying to complete gens?
-
@Kebek said:
Grabs don't work since dedicated servers were added. Survivors need to literally blindfold themself to be grabbed by the killer.
So you would down them instead, stopping them from doing anything since they would be on the ground, not working on a gen or getting the unhook.
-
Quentin only C tier? What gives?
-
@Blueberry said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1922580#Comment_1922580
With your change they would just bait the grab for a hit and then you either eat the DS or they unbreakable/get picked up.
Not everyone will have DS+ UNB.
You still can make the decision of leaving them slugged or pick them up, like you have now, like you'll have with the new reworked DS.
-
@Blueberry said:
You're nearly never grabbing a survivor off a hook or gen if they're even remotely competent. Deactivating on grabs only would be almost irrelevant.
From the games I see, like I mentioned, it didn't matter if you were competent or not, people would still play aggressively and commit to things because they knew if they were grabbed they had DS.
-
@Bond4ever said:
I didn't know only survivors had meta perks...
This. I see people saying how survival rates would drop without "meta perks" but so would a lot of kills if "meta perks" were removed on the killer side.

Jane: A decent players but usually makes a bad mistake that ruins the match. Unorthodox perk builds and always has self care
Quentin: Complete wild card. Once one is in your match they will either carry you or get destroyed in 2 minutes. Usually run meta perks or his teachables.
P3 Quentin: These guys are #########. I don’t know why they are so different to our regular Quins but the always run meta, are probably in a 4 stack and will teabag the exit gate.
p3 Quentin main here. Never BM anyone and my perks consist of iron will, spine chill, kindred and dead hard. Also only play solo
