Honestly the word “team” makes me cringe. If wanted to play that way I’d swf. We have mutual overlapping objectives and thats it. I’ll help you when and if I can, but I’ll also throw you under the bus without a second’s thought if necessary. I expect no more or less from others, lol.
If the word team makes you "cringe" go play killer or a single player game.

Pretty much this. “Take the aggro!” when the killer is someone who is stupidly oppressive in chase and you just go down immediately and then hey they have NOED and you die on first hook.
DBD is a hide and seek game, I don’t care what anyone says. That is the direction it has been moving every patch and survivors are weaker than ever in solo Q. The time of 1v1ing a competent killer is long gone.
Quit getting caught and being chased so much in the first place IMO.
"Quit getting chased" lol, then when someone is getting chased why dont you go and help them, since getting chased is so bad. Not everyone plays as a blendette.

If I feel confident that my first hook isn’t also going to be my last hook then I’ll take the aggro. If I don’t feel that confidence then it ain’t gonna happen. The only exception I may make is if I have already completed objectives/challenges that have nothing to do with escape, or none of us are likely to escape anyways so sacrificing myself isn’t going to make a bit of difference.
Taking “aggro” only makes sense if you play with the “team” mentality. I’m a solo player, therefore I weigh benefits and almost always choose what is beneficial for myself. If it’s in my best interest to save you then I’ll save you. If not then you just may be ######### out of luck.
I'm also a solo player. doesn't mean I don't try to help my team.

Good luck. Had a match just last night In my hald I felt the momentum swinging to the killer so after I got unhooked I went up to a gen (still injured) and a dwight and feng were already on it. They both hopped off to heal me but I decided to hop on the gen injured to use my resilence and have them heal after. Mind you I'm on death hook at this point they are not. We crank the gen and they start the heal, Wraith start uncloaking next to us and instead of one of them taking a hit for me they both dip out and I'm downed. They were both healthy. I'm a killer main I am not going to act like I am a superstar survivor but I do understand trading hooks, taking hits, understand perks and general knowlegde of being a survivor so I don't annoy my teammates. I am also more than happy to die to save a rando did that last night too was the most thrilling game I had against a plague with corrupt at the end. Nothing leaves a nasty taste in my mouth like plays like these.
This is exactly the type of situation I was referring to, but people just jump to "useless"

There can be multiple reasons one doesn't bother.
1. The person mignit know where you are at the time you're being asked chased.
2. He might know but you are on the opposite side of the map.
3. And this happens to me a lot, the person might be good at looping and the killer just ignores him.
Because why not?
1 is being chased and the other tries to being chased, aka 2 survivors doing nothing.
4. You might have been trying to bully the killer and thinks "screw you, you get what you deserve"
5. Might be almost done with the last gen and is hoping you got adrenaline.
The list can be much bigger but this are the most common reasons.
Accept your loss and move on to the next match
Hm are you in my matches? No, then you shouldn't assume. If you read the thread again, you'd see I mentioned a team mate hiding, when I'm being chased, and they havent been hooked. If I see them hiding, it means they arent on the other side of the map.
Also accusing me of "bullying" the killer when you dont know my play style, is quite rich.

Well, i always work on gens, and if i'm injured i finish the gen first then heal, assuming there's someone around to heal me, if not i keep looking for gens.
I got bond, i know what you guys are up to.
I mean, as a solo who runs kindred i also know what everyone is up to, and a lot of times gens aint it

This is why every time i know the other 3 are SWF I dodge the lobby. ######### that

I'll take the aggro if that survivor has been somewhat useful during the match. If not then they can die, even if that means i must die too.

I said this ages ago as well; nerf a combo that promotes healthy play and you'll male killers resort to camping/tunnelling. Then that'll be moaned about again. Take away the killers tools and they'll resort to desperate measures

Survivors playing in duos or higher will likely just fuss to each other and move on. Killers are solo, so they come here to fuss.
That's it. It really is. It's why many Survivor who dare venture into the unfriendly and unwelcoming forums are solo players as well as the forums could be their place to fuss as well... but they get savagely attacked by the usual Legion of salty killer mains. I play both sides, but the forums at times makes me disgusted with the Killer player base. Actually playing the game usually leaves me grossed out by both sides though...
100% this. I'm mostly play solo survivor, so here is the only place I can "complain" about issues with my experience, since I don't have a team to vent to.
A lot of times I talk about a solo survivor problem, killer mains dont add anything of value to the conversation and just add some comment like "survivor ez git gud".
They only care about themselves since they have this victim complex, like all they go against is 4men swf with meta perks.

Pyramid Head's nerf barely affected him, you can still fake his power and get a hit.
I also saw no different between his before nerf and now tbh.

That's funny because just a couple hours ago I ran a p3 pyramid on azarov. Learn how to play against different killers instead of hoping you get wraith every game so you can just loop god pallets and killer shack
Funny because earlier I got a 4k against a team with 4 dead hards.
Learn how to play against different perks instead of hoping you get a pebble every game so you can just loop pallets and killer shack.

It's more frustrating right now because the only counterplay that dead hard has, does not apply to Nurse.
Everyone is playing nurse right now, so everyone is running dead hard to hard counter her, and it is incredibly frustrating. Dead hard basically means you have to "hit" every survivor 3 times as nurse.
It's not really all that bad against other killers, it's a strong, fine perk generally outside of a few unfair uses (being able to dead hard over trapper traps is dumb imo as well for example)
Finally someone with common sense.
Why does a perk need nerfing because it can counter the strongest killer in the game? Does calm spirit also need a nerf because it counters doctor? I feel like people will only be happy when there's no more perks to nerf and everything is Wake Up tier.

I have seen you on multiple threads saying the same thing but refusing to offer any evidence.
Can you back up your claim of it not being OP? Dead Hard allows Survivors to completely dodge hits and gains them massive distance for little to no risk.
I can literally send you hundreds of clips of DH being used NOT to dodge hits but to make extra distance, which resulted in the Killer losing the game.
Dead Hard is a 50/50. When it works, it gives you an advantage (which is what all perks are for) and when it doesn't you're exhausted on the floor.
Should we also be nerfing lithe and sprint burst if killers lose matches against people who use those perks?
-

It is not fine, I used to run this perk a while ago and it would let me run the killer for another 30 seconds. 4 survivors running this perk and dead hard for distance is brutal, there's no counterplay.
I'm going to guess you main pyramid head, so should we really be talking about "no counterplay" here?
-
Dead Hard is fine. Can we stop nerfing crap that is fine and start buffing useless perks?

My survivor Q times were already instant most of the day. I'd rather have them still instant and not depip because of broken emblems + bs hits

The problem is that they didn't fix any part of the problem that the video showed. People aren't using DS to do objectives, there using it to force a hit and waste the killers time. Pair that with unbreakable, like 80% of the player base, and you're insanely safe.
Why does it matter if they're safe if they cant do gens? you people will cry at everything. Survivors in the same map? Problematic

Which means the people who are managing to stay in red ranks in spite of all that are really good.
Or just have good luck, since the depip is a hit or miss. You sometimes pip without escaping, and sometimes depip when you escape. You will also depip on the loading if someone dcs.

Then the logic is sound right? If your red rank and playing right now then you probably belong in red ranks. If you happen to not have been playing than started playing you probably won't be in red ranks for long, unless you belong there.
No, because you can depip even if you escape, because the unbroken emblem is broken.

It is not hard to progress as solo survivor.
It is hard to HAVE FUN
This.
I play only solo, and I'm between rank 1 and 2 every month, doesn't make it less frustrating when the game a lot of times is lost, not because you're bad, but because of your team.
I also want to try different perk loadouts, but feel forced to run always the same things to help me in solo Q, which gets really boring.

No, they are not. I feel like on every pallet you drop, instead of stunning the killer, they just teleport to your side and hit you. That was not happening before.

You’re full of assumptions. You’ve no idea who I watch and they’re indeed some of the best players in the game. Judging from our little interaction together I’d hazard a guess that I’m more familiar with the mechanics and balance than you are lol.
This going round in circles with you is becoming quite boring now. You’ve nothing productive to add to the discussion. I’ve already made my argument and you’ve not refuted it, presumably because you can’t.
For someone who cares so little for my opinion you sure seem to be quoting me a lot rather than dropping it and telling someone else they’re talking out of their ass instead. I’m sure they’ll appreciate your highly productive contribution.
This random guy you’ve never spoken to before disagrees with you on something. The horror!!!
Your argument is that spirit is fine because you watch the "best players in the world" on twitch.
I'm quoting you because no one else who is new to the game says spirit is fine. If you really watch so many streamers, you'd also know what their opinion on spirit is.
I doubt someone who is new to the game and asks people if tunneling is a bannable offense knows more about me, someone who has been playing for years and is pass 4k hours.
If you add something constructive to the discussion, which "killer hard survivor ez" is not, sure, I'll happily keep on talking about it.

I prefer faster lobbies. I dont care about pips and i can still loop killer. I get weird hits, but its not unplayable.
I'd rather go against killers my own skill, which is red ranks, than go against new killers just because the game made me depip there.

I'd rather have my instant survivor lobbies, like they always are during the day for me and have normal hits and not depip, but i guess that's asking too much these days

Actually watching the best players in the world for 2 years, observing their gameplay and taking in their insights, irrefutably lends a great understanding to not only the mechanics of the game, but the balance, development process, and general ecosystem, regardless of how long you’ve been playing. It’s a computer game. It’s really not that complex.
If you’re going to act like a salty little dog simply because we disagree on a relatively trivial issue, stop quoting me and move on lol.
You saying "best players" just in itself shows the lack of understanding. Just because someone streams and is good at the game doesnt mean they are the "best players"
Also calling someone a "salty dog" wont make me think you're any more informed about the game.
-
it's not great when the reason you're finding fast lobbies is because you'll get hit from 10 meters away and the emblems are broken and will make you depip just because

Aha way to totally misrepresent what I asked as a cheap way out of the discussion.
I responded directly to a mod who said along the lines of “targeting another player multiple times is a bannable offence” and I asked for clarification on a very specific scenario whereby I’m defending a hook from multiple survivors who are trying to unhook directly in my face without borrowed time. Had absolutely nothing to do with camping.
Also just because I’m a new player doesn’t mean I don’t understand the game mechanics or haven’t been watching the very best players in the world for over 2 years.
It’s a discussion and there’s no reason to take a disagreement personally lol. But by all means be salty.
I’ll be the bigger man and say we agree to disagree. You think killers have the advantage. I think survivors have the advantage. You’ve given no real argument to support your position other than “at low ranks killers win more” and I’ve already answered that with a rebuttal which you’ve ignored.
Moving on.
Watching the "best players in the world" doesn't mean you understand the game or are good at it.
You're the one talking out of your arse, doesn't mean I'm salty for not falling into it.

Because even at red ranks most survivors are sort of bad at the game. If the game didn’t compensate, survivors would have no chance and the community would be even more inflammatory then it already is lol. The game needs to take into account that just one bad survivor can screw over their team, so it needs to alleviate this somewhat via various mechanics, thus when there’s actually a team where everyone is skilled, these compensations turn into advantages.
Last time I looked most killers were in the low to mid 50% but maybe that’s changed, it was a while ago, but it was only even that high because matchmaking is borked + most survivors even at red rank make many mistakes IMHO.
You just asked in another thread if tunneling is bannable because you're a new player... why should I listen to your opinion about a game you are new at?
edit: typo

I'm only playing killer until they fix this BS

@[Deleted User] said:
They are probably not leatherface mains if they are tunneling and camping.
Most leatherface mains actually are like, some of the most wholesome killers in DBD. They will actively throw matches in fact to avoid camping someone even after all the gens are done.
However what you are talking about are the NON main leatherface's, the people who play him not because they want to have good matches but because they just want to tilt people or do a challenge or whatever else, and will camp the daylights out of people and such. These are usually streamers, or people who have a profile that intentionally invites and tries to wear -rep comments like some badge of honor.
Big difference. The latter probably out numbers the former is all.
Completely agree. It's really easy to see someone who mains Bubba and who doesn't. From personal experience, LF mains are quite chill and meme a lot.

M1 and M2 is how mechanics are used but that doesn't correlate with the number of mechanics that come into play.
A spirit player -whilst phasing- has to deal with mechanics such as:
- literal blindness in terms of characters
- footsteps
- scratch marks
- breathing / grunts of pain
- moving grass if there's any
- and risks going into the cooldown-mechanic when messing up the phasewalk.
The survivor meanwhile literally only moves around and possibly uses a pallet or window to avoid the phasewalk with no other mechanics involved.
Sure a good Spirit won't miss but that's not the point. The bottom line is the killer has to deal with more overall mechanics making it more demanding.
Let a complete newbie play survivor and then Spirit. I bet you most people will pick up survivor gameplay more quickly than Spirit (especially since it's mostly sitting on gens if no one is hiding).
Only thing you mentioned above that works against her power is the blindness, everything else works in her favor.
And that is incorrect. Like I said to something else, at high ranks like 15-20, new killers have an easier time than new survivors.

Nah I play solo and view SWF as literally cheating as they use third party applications (discord) to bypass the intended mechanics of the game. Just being on voice comms gives everyone like 20 something perks for free lol. Imho of all things are equal skill-wise, survivors have an advantage even as solo queue. This is mainly because the game is designed to compensate for bad survivors, so if there are no bad survivors, it equals out to an advantage.
If solo Q has an advantage is why killer kill rates 70%?
The game is actually designed to punish bad survivors, why do you think killers dominate at rank 15-20?
-
@Terro said:
I think it's more like a lot of survivors that were in red rank fell out of red rank due to emblem bugs and the hits. This leaves the good survivors in red ranks, while those that used to be in red ranks fell to where they probably should be in terms of overall skill. However, they're still better at doing gens than the survivors at those ranks (that's how they got into red ranks).
"good survivors at red ranks", you say the ones who aren't playing so they stayed at reds? You can escape and still double depip. It has nothing to do with skill right now, but with luck in a broken system.
-

I marked the word "mechanically" for a reason.
Solo Q may be a pain very often but that's not because of any "super demanding survivor mechanics". It's because of terrible decision making and lack of coordination.
Mechanically, all everyone does is press M1 and M2. I'd say when it comes to looping, against spirit, the killer has the advantage if they are indeed using stridor, which is 90% of spirits I encounter at reds.
-
Hm I wonder if it is because survivors are being hit from 10 meters away and the emblems are broken so you 99% of the time will just depip, and the only thing worth doing right now as survivor is getting the extra bloodpoints.... I wonder.
-
@El_Gingero said:
I mostly play survivor but I’m starting to consider mailing killer tbh. Survivors strike me as excessively coddled. Killers already have to deal with all of these absurd “unspoken” (lol) rules, whilst facing premades who’re literally using third party programs to bypass the intended mechanics of the game (cheating.) Adding to that experience unnecessary nerfs of every little thing that hurts a survivors fee-fees, it’s shaping up to be quite the underdog situation. I always support the underdog and look down on the spoilt brat lol.
Sounds like you only play SWF. If you played solo Q, your opinion would be way different. Only underdog in this game is solo Q and low tier killers that have been forgotten almost since they were added. Not spirit.
-
@Yamaoka said:
Quote: "When I'm not wrong spirit is not a hard killer to learn right?"

Yes, that's an accurate number.
Playing Spirit is way easier than playing solo Q.
