Shame, thank you for the answer though

Hence why I also talked about GeForce Experience, or a different piece of software with Shadowplay. Also from my experience, if someone hacks once they will several times.
It's not an ideal solution, I'm well aware, and I wish it wasn't the case, but this is the best option you have right now.
I'm aware of the options and how not amazing they are, I'm questioning if they ever even considered adding one that can be activated in game with a hotkey.

So what did the Devs did in this Patch?
Buffing Thana (Good)
Fix The Executioner "Loop mindgame" (Good)
Trail of Torment Extrem buff (good)
The other perk buffs (all good, ok not Technician but still)
Pop Nerf (was maybe needed)
So why do you think the Devs can't belance the game again?
In my Opinion this show us that the devs can and are willing to belance this game for our fun.
Thana wasn't a buff.
Pyramid Head "nerf" wasn't really one, I see no difference there at all. He also didn't need a buff in Trails since he is already imo one of the strongest killers in the game.
Agree with other perks buffs, they're better than nothing.
Pop was fine, (again, imo)

Right now, there is now way for playback, so for certain things it does require a video recording. If you have a Nvidia Graphics card, they offer a recording software with GeForce Experience.
Still report people though as it helps in the long run.
Is this a feature that is planned to be added at some point or ?

If it helps at all, it's free to download and setting up display capture (or game capture too) takes literally 5 seconds. I agree it's not the best but having something like OBS or even GeForce Experience (which also comes with Shadowplay) that's fairly simple to set up can be incredibly beneficial, especially to recording your dbd games in case of a hacker or cheater. And, like mentioned previously, consoles always have the option of Shadowplay too.
I stream so I do have OBS setup to record dbd. But the game is in real time so it wont just stop to let you open it up and start recording, so a lot of things that can be reported ( hacking/cheating/bugs/griefing) are just missed.
I do still report them when I am not streaming, but I shouldn't be expected to have a recording software open to try to catch everything that happens. I'm lucky enough that my pc can handle running DBD and OBS at the same time, but not everyone is as fortunate.

You can always tab out to open up OBS or something. Console players have Shadowplay enabled allowing them to record clips of their gameplay easily afaik
That is just not helpful.
Not everyone has OBS, some people who do don't have it set up to pick up Dead By Daylight so they would have to waste time setting that up.
IMO they should have a recording/playback system in game.
-
So do they just expect people to have a recording software on 24/7 when they're playing?
What about console players? I'm assuming they can't even record gameplay.

I got this claudette that could get up by herself every time she got downed but she wasn't running no mither. She was also hooked and it said she escaped instead of being sacrificed.

Did you purchase auric cells a few days before PTB? It usually sets your progress back a little bit to get the data for PTB so maybe it granted you those since you bought them after the date of the progress that the PTB uses? I went into the store as well but I didn't get any cells.
That was probably it thanks!

Self-Care + Botany might be useful in solo queue, though Inner Strength is still better in a sense of time wasting.
Bond and Empathy are basically permakindred, just with different conditions.
I actually find it very fun to use combo of Ace In The Hole and Plunderer's Instinct.
Spine Chill + Resilience is very useful if you are good at looping.
Also I recommend using Decisive, because if you are solo, then there is usually no one to help or protect you from being tunneled.
Left Behind and Sole Survivor might be okay, if you don't give a single damn about teammates (though I don't recommend it).
I play solo 99% of the time and can say that it usually just comes down to what you feel like you might need in a match. So there is no guarantee that someone here will tell you exact build you'll be always happy with. Just bring those things which will help you in situations, where you are not that good (like aura perks for positioning of teammates and killer, exhaustion perks for more efficient looping, or maybe anti-tunnel / anti-slug perk if you are sure that your teammates are of no use.
Also, don't be afraid to experiment with not-meta perks, which you personally find interesting. It might be fun too.
My build always has kindred, iron will and spine chill. I wouldn't consider any of those (maybe iron will) meta. Also I rarely if ever use DS because I fail the skillcheck more often than not

1: Deactivating a trap is also taking the risk of saying "I'm here".
2 : if the trap is deactivated, you just have to reactivate it... what happening you you will never win the game with the trapper if you are the only survivor !
3 : the executioner's trap doesn't last long... and to avoid it you just have to squat (really scary wow)
4 : with this killer I feel the cucumber (I understand myself) !🤗
You dont have to activate a trap to deactivate it... you just have to press m1 on a trapper's and use a flashlight on hag's.
Also getting caught in any of those 2 doesn't stop you from using perks after being hooked/caged. Trails are way stronger than any of those if actually activated.
-
Because it's not like a hag or trapper where you can actually deactivate their traps/power. Seems pretty fair to me.
-
Any Quentin cosmetic.
-
I'd really like this feature.
Sometimes I just want to play solo without having friends joining my lobby.

Funny you say that, I just went against a console killer and it wasn't a fun experience. All he did was nod and hit me on hook without me teabagging or anything.

Now you have to do something the first time, instead of just pressing m1 and bully the killer. Carry the other ppl if you are so good or get rekt.
the game is 4v1 and not 1v1.

My point is exactly that we know nothing about the game. I say that explicitly in my comment. There are endless posts right now with screenshots showing mismatched ranks and whining about MMR, and I'm tired of them. So, I'm playing Devil's Advocate by throwing out one plausible situation that would have resulted in this screenshot without MMR being broken.
Read my reply to Marigoria above this for why we shouldn't be judging the MMR system yet. It's not necessarily enough for OP to have played a lot if most other people haven't. We have no idea how the algorithm works. All we know is that if they evaluate skill well the games will get better over time. It has been 3 days.
I'm fine with new players getting protection, but any new people who join after the MMR system is stable will have built in protection already. If you think about it that way it's not as critical of a problem to solve.
If you're tired of them close your computer and go outside or something. No one is forcing you to look at them.
Your situation isn't plausible as it has been shown in multiple discussions now.
I am judging the MMR system now because a dev did say they have been gathering data for months and that after a couple matches the system should be working. It is not.
I'm pretty sure a lot of other people have played enough matches, so I should be teaming up with those who did and have a similar score, not players who just started today. That compromises the system results and isn't smart at all.
-
There is no proof, because showing proof would "hurt the feelings of players with a bad score" like you can read on a News post.

"Were you there? No, you were not, so you have no clue how the match went at all."
That is literally my point. The forum is overflowing right now with screenshots just like this that don't say anything about how the match went, how good the players were, etc. We have no clue what the skill ratings of the people in the lobby are.
If you let Doctor 3-gen you and lost after a long struggle, that's not an unbalanced match. That's the survivors losing a winnable match because they messed up their gen spacing. It happens to the best of us, but it is what it is.
MMR needs everyone to have history to be able to effectively match them. Let's take a hypothetical where I'm the only person who has any match history. My skill is 500 and everyone else has 100. When I go to queue up, the game probably isn't going to wait 3 days until a few people at my level join the lobby. It's going to put me into a lobby with other people at rank 100 and it's going to see how they do. If they beat up on me, their skill will go up by a lot and mine will go down by a lot. If I beat up on them no one's rank will change much (since I was expected to win, with my higher skill) and they'll go onto their next game.
This is probably exactly what's happening right now, just less extreme. If many people queuing up have very little match history, it makes sense that the game would sometimes drop them into matches with people who do have history just to see how they'll do rather than letting queue times get out of control for the people who have been playing.
TL;DR Wait until the ranks have time to settle down before complaining on the forums.
My team mates were rank 20, I am rank 3 devotion 20. You can NOT compare us at all.
Everyone who just started the game wont be good at the game because they don't know workarounds.
Also in case you haven't read the title and thread, I have now over 70 matches after the new MMR, and is in fact still not working. It's looking the same it did when I had only 1 match.
TL;DR don't like a thread don't comment on it.
-
Ranks do matter, if they didn't, people wouldn't have complained about matchmaking and we wouldn't have this new MMR.
Also yes, you get to red ranks by playing a lot, it's called practice, and practice makes you better and more skillful.
-
Also for the people saying rank doesn't matter... if it didn't matter, why was everyone complaining about bad matchmaking before? That's why we got MMR in the first place.
And believe it or not, time played does increase your skill.

Why /s? We know literally nothing about this game other than the screenshot. Rank =/= skill, and everyone agrees on that. The killer was rank 7, but they were also a Doctor using only Overcharge I, so it was probably their first game as Doctor under the new MMR. After this match the rank 20's skill should drop, the killer's should go up, etc. and the matches should get better going forward.
Plus, the killer ended up with 32k points and three survivors got up to 19-26k. That's a sign that the survivors probably made good progress on generators and they had a nice long match. In other words, it probably wasn't that unbalanced, even with the rank 20 and the killer probably having very little history for the system to work with.
Could there be more protection for rank 20s? Sure, but this system will protect them over time as all of the experienced players have a MMR to reflect their experience.
Let's wait more than 3 days before whining.
No it wasn't balanced. Were you there? No, you were not, so you have no clue how the match went at all.
Doctor is one of the easiest killers to get bloodpoints with, also the match was lengthy because he slugged a lot in a 3 gen situation.
MMR is supposed to get better after matches, not after "a few days".
It's clearly not working, at all.
-
Adding another gem from today..
-
Playing killer gives me way more spooks than playing survivor.
-
My last match btw.
-
I'm rank 3 right now, and devotion 14. I also play solo.
I'm still getting rank 20 team mates with 1 perk who can't hit skill checks, after 50+ games.
After how many matches are we supposed to have a working MMR?
-
@Zeus said:
I dont know about that. As days pass, it's getting better and better.
As for the reason of hidden MMR, it's there just so you can't complain about unfair matchmaking. Previously you would see ranks and complain to Devs about your opponents. Now it's not possible
You can still complaing by looking at perks/play time.
If I see a rank 20 meg with adrenaline tier 1 when I'm devotion 14 I'm pretty sure there is a huge problem.
-
Same.
And the excuse of everyone starts the same and that if you have good matches you'll be separated doesn't work in this case since you can't have a good match when you only have rank 20 team mates.

From the news section of this very website:
- "Why are we keeping the skill rating hidden?
For every player who gets really excited at the prospect of seeing their skill rating, there is another player who dreads it. For now, to encourage everyone to play the game the best they can, we are keeping the skill rating hidden. We have plans to expose it somewhat in the future, but nothing to announce at this time.
So they are hiding it to prevent hurt feelings... about being bad... at a video game that should be 16+.... ok.

Here you go
Updated Auras: Patch 4.1.0 introduced a brand new aura system with new aura visuals. While we received positive feedback regarding their style, the consensus seems to be that they were not sufficiently visible, especially for small objects, at long range or in bright environments. In light of this, we have temporarily replaced the new aura visuals with a different type that should be much easier to see. Expect further aura improvements in future releases.
Ty, on my first read that sure didn't load under the image

Anyone who thinks solo surv is playable probably crouches until everyone dies and hops in hatch. Solo players are selfish. Players that dont want to work as a team or cant because they dont know how are boring and unfun to be in matches with. This is why swf is fun. Voice coms have little to do with it. Playing without voice can be really fun if you have good team mates. I can depend on my friends. They know how to run, juke, stealth, save, not waste time healing every time they are injured....
Idk why its controversial to say I want to play with team mates that are at my skill level. No more no less. It's not fun knowing in solo if I want to escape I basically have to play selfishly bc ik the moment I'm on the hook I'm at the mercy of bad players. Ik lots of killers like playing against selfish, clueless randos so they can tunnel them to death and then come for me when they've wasted all the pallets... but uh, it ain't for me.
Solo players are selfish just because they don't play in swf? hot take, a dumb one at that.

I've seen constructive criticism.
You also see a lot of positive criticism when it comes to things who are being worked on nicely. Unfortunately, matchmaking isn't the best right now, and people have been showing proof of it.
-
I wonder this as well.
What will happen with rank reset now? Does it reset MMR separately ?

If people don't give feedback (be it positive or negative), things don't improve.
Negative feedback it's still feedback.

So is everybody else. So ultimately it will even out for solo. It shouldn't be a surprise that queuing solo for a team game is a negative.
Not swf or killers.
Killers depend only on their own skill.
SWF they can be paired with similar/same ranks as their friends.
