Bumping this since I'm curious to see how to deal with this issue and my thread just disappeared earlier.
-
If it's early game and they let me hit second stage knowing the killer isnt there and they aren't being chased either (I use kindred), I do suicide.
-
I've played more than 25 matches now and I'm still getting paired with potato team mates when I'm a rank 4.

You must be very bad as survivor then KEKW
just kidding ;)
I was just telling my friend this... either I'm hot garbage, or the rank 20 is a god. Shame he dced and I couldn't see his real potential... can't blame him.
-
I'm rank 4 and just went against a rank 20 trapper with no perks...
-
This is exactly why there should always be an obsession even without someone using an obsession perk.
Games as survivor without an obsession are just garbage.
-
Survivor:
Iron Will, because I don't mind being injured if I'm silent.
Spine Chill, gives me enough time to walk away instead of running and leaving scratch marks everywhere.
Kindred, I play 99% solo and even in SWF it's still a really good information perk (saves me time from going for saves if someone is already going/don't let people reach second stage or die because I incorrectly think someone else will go instead). Also great for when the killer has bbq and you can see him going in your direction or not.
Pebble, it's really good to trick the killer specially when you're the last one left and need to open a gate.

The simplest example - over altruistic survivors. Why play default chase-hook-chase-hook etc and have chances to lose, when you can use their altruism to your advantage? Yeah, it's risky, but it can work, as most survivors just can't let go of a hooked comrade.
Fair point, but it's still ruining the game for the person being farmed. Wouldn't that make it toxic?
-
You say hillbilly is your favorite because he is super easy, and then you say you can't get a kill if you don't camp.
Maybe billy is not that easy for you then. If he was easy you could get at least a kill per game without camping since he's one of the top killers (before nerf).

How do you determine whether it's late or early game? How do you determine the state of generators independant of late/earlyness of the game? Do you deserve a safety pip if its only 2 minutes in, theres 2 gens done but the other 3 are basically 99'd? What if the game has been going for 15 minutes but your team was too pepega to do any gens and you're still at 5 gens with ruin up?
The only way I'd be okay with this is if it also counted as a full-on sacrifice for the killer.
Why are pips so important to you? They literally don't matter. Devs own words. They are a participation trophy.
Also, DC penalties not being a thing is temporary.
Why do you care what's important to me or not? Seems like you're missing the whole point, of having an unfair match when it's 5 gens left and a 3v1 because someone decided to dc when they first got downed.
Why do you care about winning? It means nothing. /s

I guess you didn't specify this, but I suppose you are talking about tunnel visioning (and facecamping) a certain survivor and killing (or trying to kill him) even at the cost of losing the game.
Facecamping and tunneling can sometimes be a beneficial strategies to win the game - basement bubba, pyramid head tunneling and etc. Yeah, these are certainly annoying, but these are sometimes the only (or simply different in case of bubba) ways to win the game and have fun.
How is facecamping/tunneling the only way to win a game? That just means you're really bad.
-
@SloppyKnockout said:
That would have to depend on how early/late the game is.
If someone DC's when there's 1 gen left, do you honestly think you should get a safety pip?
This is obviously for early game dcs.

During EGC where that's the only possible way a killer can try and secure a kill
You mentioned before EGC in your post tho. Any examples of that?
-
@DragonMasterDarren said:
i define toxicity as "disrespectful behaviour intended on annoying or otherwise provoking the other side"
this includes, Teabagging, Flashlight clicking, Facecamping (before EGC) and tunneling (also before EGC)
Can you give me an example of when tunneling and camping was done with the intention to not be toxic?
Also I guess if the killer is farming, teabagging and flashlight clicking can be seen as friendly, otherwise it's just annoying.
-
I sure hope so. I'd pay big coin for it.

Mori idea is good but the key idea wouldnt solve anything.
I think not being able to find them in chests would make a big difference, since the killer in the lobby can choose what they want to do about a key they see on it accordingly.

i dont think deleting something is the right way of doing it.
for the ebony mori it would even be impossible, as there is an achievement bound to killing everyone with it.
instead, how about this:
the Cypress Memento Mori stays unchanged. The Ivory and Ebony Memento Mori however stay deactivated until every Survivor has been hooked once.
That would still leave them with some power to them, though it would stall out their usage in game, allow for some actual counterplay on the survivors part AND would get rid of the annoying insta tunnel and mori off a hook scenario.
for keys, the Broken Key should stay unchanged, i agree (maybe the time on it could be buffed a little). Dull Keys now only allow the Key holder to escape through hatch and the only way to have everyone escape is with a Skeleton Key.
also, Ultra Rare Items should not be obtainable from chests, unless the perk Plunderers Instinct is used. The Keys now also feature a lengthy hatch opening animation, which the killer can interrupt. And to top it off, Keys should not remain in the trial once a Survivor dies - we could change the Add On the key has that allows the user to take it with them uppon Death to instead allow it to spawn underneath a hook / on their dead body uppon death.
Isn't that achievement the tombstone one? It isn't with ebony

I have 3k+ hours and I havent received 30+ messages, it seems like you might be the problem.

Male.
I main Quentin, and will sometimes play Steve or Jeff
-
Imagine thinking BBQ is a try hard perk lol, I would give them no attention

as it was blocked, some languages have similar lettering etc. there are issues.
I am portuguese and the other n word you were mentioned isn't even the default word for black. There are literally nothing stopping them from blocking slurs.

@Booper_Of_Snoot said:
Peanits went over this in his stream a while ago.
Reports are easier to mandate and ban for otherwise the filter may catch things that dont belong.
Theres a difference between "#########!!!11!!!111" and "Bro why did you ######### on hook?"
For spanish players they could try to say black, or "#########" in spanish and get banned, as that happens often on other games with similar features.
Too many open ends that would be hard to dictate.
N word and F word have no other meanings though.
I'm talking about filtering actual slurs
-
Those do stack afaik
-
It just gives you a ridiculous advantage.
I just hope they rework moris soon.

I know what you mean... I have no idea why they removed the profile viewing when their reporting to support requires their steam ID.
The only issue I have with it tbh. It's impossible when they have a common name to find their ID

Obviously not, it's run by humans. But it's still better than not sending a report and expecting those people to go away anyway.
No one is expecting that.

That's only if you wanna send in additional information, which is not required for the vast majority of offenses.
I've actually used the report system, so I know how it works.
I also know how it works, and it isn't flawless.

Yeah, the mods don't act on reports that are never filed in the first place. Kinda hard to have a good report system when people don't report.
The report system isn't good even if reported.
Like I said, they ask for a user ID. You need to get to the person's steam link to get that ID, which isn't even available in post-game chat anymore, Good luck trying to find a common name on steam.
-
@Orion said:
Reports are read and acted upon depending on the internal parameters that the mods use. I'm guessing that "don't always work" means "the mods don't ban everyone I report", which is normal. Also, a bug is no reason to develop and implement an entirely new feature. It's far easier to just fix the bug.
With that said, I wouldn't mind seeing a filter for common slurs.
I would especially love it if the filter were troll-y in nature and replaced common slurs with sentences showing support for the people whom those slurs are supposed to denigrate. So for the N word, for example, you could have it be replaced with "black people are awesome", or something to that effect. Of course, I understand if I'm alone in finding stuff like that hilarious.
I'm talking as someone who hasn't filed a single report in 3k hours, but I do see a lot of slurs being used in both lobby and post game chat.
I actually like that idea, I would change the slurs for compliments though, n word could translate to something like "awesome" or "beautiful", a random complimentary word could be used, or even just change it to a "gg"
-
Pc, we have chat in game.
-
I see more toxic survivors, even when I play survivor I get attacked more post game chat by "team mates" than the killer.

I assume the bloodhunt will come in when the event has officially started. The licensed surv and killers do not get crowns unfortunately. In 1.5 mil from level 1 to 48 I managed to get 31 event cakes on Zarina so I am more than chuffed. The event shaping up to be good
Source on that?

bro just quit whining and enjoy you get a gateu on almost every single level in the blloodweb
"Bro" I'm just sharing my opinion, accept it or don't, idc.
-
I'd rather have a bloodhunt than cakes tbh.
Also, do licensed survivors get the crown too? Some people are saying they don't.
Why launch the event without any information? Lame.
-
Apparently people are saying the cakes are bugged....
Also weird how there wasn't an announcement about the start on twitter at least.
-
Had this earlier, went against a nurse and her perks were invisible. I'm 100% sure she was at least using infectious. Everyone was dead too.

Sleep deprivation ages anyone drastically.
Being sleep deprived doesn't make you look like a 100 year old crackhead.
-
Unfortunately on the last Q&A someone asked about this and Mcote said it's a difficult process that has a lot of parties involved so no news on it.
As someone who mains Quentin I can't wait for a rework asap.
-
Only time I don't like slugging is when there's 4/5 gens left and the killer slugs everyone and refuses to hook. Otherwise I think it's a legit strategy.
I'd also rather get slugged if I get farmed than being put on hook again.
-
My shortest games are the ones I see someone being 1 hit by a huntress (iri head). Fastest DC in the west.
