Yeah, there is a year-long QoL initiative going on right now, divided into two phases, which aims at improving overall experience and fixing long-standing issues. The bulk bloodpoint spender, the perk widget on the right-hand side of the screen, newly unlocked characters coming pre-equipped with add-ons are all examples of these improvements. Aimed not just at veteran players, but at new players as well which is really important.
However, when it comes to fixing long-standing issues such as bugs new and old, I don't believe they will ever be able to do that. So many times things break because of other unrelated things being changed or added. Some killers, like Twins, seemingly cannot go one patch without something about them not working and it staying like that for many months, rightfully frustrating the people that main them.
Every content release is said to be stable but you can bet that next patch Blight will be able to fly because the duration of Awakened Awareness was changed by 2 seconds. That's how unbelievably broken DBD's code/foundation is, and it would take a game being rebuilt from the ground up to fix that. You could say that DBD is a mid to late-game Jenga tower: stuff gets piled on top of it while the underlying structure erodes until it collapses. -
Lately we have had some charms added to the game through Twitch Drops, that had been in the files for a long time. An example of this is the "Pin The Tail On The Maurice" charm.
But there are still a lot of unreleased things which make me wonder, why were they made if they haven't been added yet? The Silver Wolf charm which you'd expect to be unlocked with the Geralt of Rivia cosmetic. Or the Dark Heart charm, or the Court Jester charm for Valentine's Day and April Fool's Day respectively.Same for cosmetics. I understand that a number of those will never be made available again (such as Legacy). Or the ones that are unique to content creators and only available to them or redeemable through a code provided by them. Other than that, why not release the rest by means of codes, bundles or drops?
-
DBD is not a competitive game.
The fact that some people want to go out of their way to make it one in a sandbox environment with all sorts of made up rules is nice and all, but that should not be the standard whatsoever for the regular, actual game of DBD that 99% are playing..
Sometimes you win, sometimes you don't. That's how it's supposed to work. Yes, the matchmaking generally is atrocious but let's hope the tweaks to that will alleviate some of the frustrations we have with it.
If you go into a match with the intention of "I must win / keep my winstreak" I think you are in for a much worse experience than if your goal is to "do my challenge, get points, level up my favourite character" or something along those lines. Mindset matters. Similarly, if you go into a game with a meme build or something that you know is not the best, and you set low expectations for the outcome, then getting a good result feels much more rewarding. -

It's not a bug, the decision was made to stay with the FNAF lobby.
Disappointing.
-
The lack of an anniversary lobby with the accompanying soundtrack really is a bummer.
Claudette finally got a mask this year, the last of my three mains, and now I can't even take a Masquerade lobby screenshot 😓! -
guess they were contractually obliged to keep the FNAF lobby at all costs
it would've otherwise disappeared after just a week and stay gone until the end of the event that superseded it.
It's a real shame though, this is not how you properly say goodbye to an anniversary theme that has been going on for 4 years. -

My badge changes a lot based on current mood or seasonal event. The banner has pretty much remained the same ever since it dropped. For obvious reasons.

Just an FYI, the Fandom wiki is abandoned and no longer being updated. The effects of Pentimento listed here are different now. It does still block all totems at full stacks, but the debuffs to recovery and gate opening speeds have been removed. The new wiki can be found here:

Well, how about next time you see something you don't understand, you wait around until the match is over so you can read the Killer's perks and add-ons? 99% of the time these explain exactly what you saw and can lift a ton of confusion. -

No, that's a bug too. We're already in week 8 of the Rift Pass quests iirc.

Hey there folks! Just popping in here to confirm that we just pushed a fix to improve how Coconut Scream Pies appear in Level 50 Bloodwebs (specifically relevant for your P100s!). You'll be guaranteed an Event Offering in the Level 50 web, alongside other Event items.
Let the hoarding begin!
-
Technically this is not a bug.
With the rework to rarities in patch 8.7.0. (which, among other things, brought with it the change of icon colours), the special Event rarity was removed. All associated items (such as cosmetics) were then given a tag from Common to Visceral based on their quality.
In the case of items, add-ons and offerings, they received the Common tag (was Visceral before but luckily that was changed). So as far as the game is concerned you are carrying a Common-rarity item and it will upgrade it to Uncommon when using Exultation. The perk works as intended. -
Huntress should actually be positioned before Myers. Characters that come for free with the base game are always displayed first in order of release date, then come all the chapter DLCs who are ordered the same way. This is why you will see Bill Overbeck displayed before Laurie even though he was added later than her.

What do you mean by this? Genuinely curious. Where in the game were skillchecks removed?
I mean that the thing I miss the most are skillchecks. On gens and heals alike.
-
Honestly?
Skillchecks. -
Yes, one of the more recent features introduced is that newly unlocked characters come pre-equipped with one perk and a handful of add-ons. This is to make it clear to especially new players what perks are, where to find them, and that they can bring additional items into the match.
This is also the reason why you will see a widget on the right-hand side of your screen, which shows the currently equipped perks on your character.
The devs did a lot of testing and concluded that new players often don't use any perks or add-ons and that it can be unclear what to do. Hence why they've made this QoL change. -

Not far enough:
Anti-camp - rarely ever works, killers still hard camp all day long
Example: killer proxy camps, spends time zoning survivors, then returns to the hook to face camp. The anti-camp feature won't activate when it really should. The fact the devs don't account for this by making the anti-camp more aggressive when a killer returns to the hook shows they aren't serious.
Ant-tunnel - basekit borrowed time doesn't dissuade hard tunneling at all. and perks that survivors bring de-activate in the end game. based on the current kill rates there is no reason OTR and DS shouldn't be active the entire game.
Example: Killer just breaks the endurance charge immediately upon being unhooked then uses their speed ability to chase a survivor down. The basekit borrowed time should also have baby sitter's features to at least give survivors a chance of escaping and hiding from these killers. Further, survivors being forced to bring anti-tunnel perks isn't good for the game, and then punishing survivors by not allowing them to activate in the end-game is insult to injury.
Abandon - need more situations when the abandon feature activates
Example: Once multiple survivors are downed or in the dying state (not accounting for every survivor) you should have the option to abandon.
Too far:
AFK crows - why is so much effort made to ensure features don't interfere with a killer's normal gameplay (see above) yet ZERO effort here is made to ensure these stupid crows don't interfere with survivor's normal gameplay. the bias here is insane
Example: Crows are activating when survivors are running across the map to do a generator, running around the map to look for Hex totems, waiting to perform saves, waiting when a killer is zoning an area, and of course activating in the end game either when survivors are looking for hatch or waiting out killer end-game perks
"Go next prevention" - some games are OVER long before everyone is dead and the system does not account for that at all.
Example: Multiple survivors down or hooked at 5 gens with no progress made on generators yet you're forced to sit there and exist in a game that you have no chance of winning or escaping from.
It's not anti-camp. It's anti-facecamp. The feature is there to specifically combat this:
Not to eliminate (proxy) camping entirely.

Honestly, if all else fails you can just befriend the survivors and farm it with them. It wouldn't be the first time I got achievements that way :).
-
I would imagine that it can give you event-specific add-ons when the associated event is live. But not outside of them.
So this looks like a bug. -
Please turn off the light, please 😭.

This is good news 😁!
Now we're truly ready for the last masquerade. -

I think you get it after purchasing 6 items total. A Springtrap cosmetic counts as 3 because you buy a head, body and weapon.
According to Paulie Esther, that seems to be the case. Six pieces of FNAF cosmetics, whereby head, torso and legs count for one each. So that's either 2 Springtrap cosmetics, 6 shirts, or a combination of both.

I get that and I do try my best to work around that, however a lot of gen spawn locations don't provide a good enough place to sit without being at risk of getting grabbed or insta downed
Call me a psycho or an idiot, but I'm a person that runs No Mither and I do it to improve my looping skills (And yes, It has actually been working. It adds pressure onto my every move and forces me to analyse better) but that shouldn't then mean that if I want to run a perk that I enjoy running that I'm therefore guaranteed to get hooked all because the killer has no heartbeat when they don't have any reason to be undetectable
Have you considered that killer players using perks that make them undetectable do so because they enjoy running them, and spices up their gameplay knowing they gave survivors a good scare?
Or are only you allowed to run perks you want and everyone should bow before your greatness and apologize for not catering to your every need? -
It's a visual bug, you probably already completed the quest as it originally was 60/60 seconds (I believe).
If you add up all your completed quests, including the ones under "Rift Pass Completion Quests" as these count as well, and then check the tracker displayed at "Complete 48 Rift Pass Quests", you can check if there is a difference of 1. Mine said 32/48 and that is because I indeed completed 32 quests (6 x 5 for every week + 2 Rift Pass Completion Quests") even though this quest from Week 6 suddenly unlocked again. It's still completed, but doesn't visually show as such. -
That last sentence kills your entire argument. Get off your high horse please, we can't hear you from down here.
Undetectable adds an element of uncertainty. Pressure. Keeps you on your toes, on the edge of your seat, and forces you to be keenly aware of your surroundings. Especially when you're in danger, like injured or in a position where the killer can show up from all around you. It makes callouts more difficult. You don't know where the killer is and when they may strike.
That, imo, adds value to the scare aspect of the game.
Also, I fail to see what Broken-inducing perks have to do with this.
Clean Break is temporary, For the People is temporary, Moment of Glory is temporary, Second Wind is temporary, No Mither is permanent but when you bring it you always back that up with something to cover you, such as Resilience or anti-tunnel, same with invocations. You can shield yourself from the effects very effectively.
Killers being Undetectable have nothing to do with this. "Comparing apples to pears", as we're wont to say in Dutch. -
My stats have 1860,2 hours of playtime unaccounted for. Now, I know that it doesn't track event/modifier queues and the like, but that is still a major portion of my playtime. And it's also not because I played before 2020, quite the contrary: I started late 2021.
Surely I didn't spend all that time in lobbies, the store section and Custom games? -
It might very well be just a visual glitch. While I don't remember whether I ever got this particular quest, it would seem that I did.
Here's what I found:According to this tracker, I have completed 32 out of 36 Rift Pass Quests. Note that the Completion Quests count in this as well.
Every week has 5 quests. With 5 completed weeks, that adds up to 25 completed quests.
Week Six adding 4 and the Completion Quests adding 2, that total should be 31/36, but it says 32. Which leads me to believe I actually did complete the full Week 6, thus adding 5 quests to the counter instead of 4.
Therefore I think it's just showing that it's not completed even though it is. -
Can confirm.
Funnily enough, mine is stuck at 60 seconds as well. That's the progress I had before playing my first match today. -

So people aren't allowed to be frustrated? They're just not supposed to question it?
Of course they are, but OP literally put in the title "not to be taken serious" so that's why I said what I said :).
-
A Nemesis must tunnel, just like a Bubba must facecamp and a Nurse must bleed everyone out. It's their thing. It's who they are, it's what they do. Don't question it.
-
Ah, that makes things more clear. Thanks!
What I think happened here, is that Mettle of Man 'protected' you from Plot Twist the first time. Since its entire purpose is to ignore any incoming damage that would put you into the Dying State while injured. So the Plot Twist animation is cancelled, you glow white because of Mettle of Man, then when you Plot Twist again it happens like normal, and Mettle deactivates because you went into the Dying State.
So basically you wasted your use of Mettle by Plot Twisting. -

I’m pretty sure mettle of man does not activate when you get instadowned. It should not activate here either
De-activate. Not activate.
You lose Mettle of Man by going into the Dying State.
What I don't get from your screenshots, is what happened in between the first and second. You are crouching, but in the second screenshot you're suddenly glowing white. Did the Killer hit you there? Do you have a video? -
It looks to be intentional, as the description of Mettle of Man states: "Mettle of Man deactivates after entering the Dying State by any means." And you entered the Dying State by using Plot Twist.

Then maybe this party game shouldn't have DC penalties as if pub lobbies have bets placed on them. There is no logical reason for a DC penalty in this game to ever exceed 5 minutes and that's being generous. This game literally cultivates spite and has one of the most toxic communities in gaming, but I'd bet the community would start self regulating if people could more often leave unpleasant matches with a bot replacing them.
If toxic people with toxic gameplay styles want to grief, they would be more likely than not, be forced to play with bots. I bet they'd get bored of that quickly and then alter their gameplay style to something pleasant that facilitates fun. Instead we have BHVR forcing others to play with them.
The "going next" change with unhooks is at the core awful because it's further removing player agency and creating more of what people don't want which is the complete removal of at least minimal gameplay. The afk changes though, are going to cause people to literally just stop playing altogether.
If the go next and AFK changes irritate people to the point of dropping this game, then it works. As those people should not be queueing up in the first place.
You play DBD because you intend to actually play. If you rq at the first inconvenience, this is not the game for you. -

Yeah no that was someone using an unlocker tool. Always report on sight.
Also, what does it matter the "Dev" didn't survive that game. Are you saying dev must win at all times? -
