If you're not even going to bother to read why I said you should switch, don't bother writing out a whole response.
BHVR are ultimately informed by statistics and you are ultimately informed by experience. As a result, continuing to contribute to survivor play rates, continuing to drop kill rates, and continuing to learn what you think specifically needs to be changed to lessen the survivor experience makes discussions on this easier to use from BHVR's end because the changes are directed and to-the-point, and makes BHVR more willing to actually enact changes because the stats match the statements.
If you wanna keep playing killer, do what you want - I aint a cop. But at least read what I have to say before you write it off.
BHVR has been shown the statistics on the most meta perks in this game and has done nothing about it.
Meta perks on their own are fine and dandy however, every match is the same perks everytime and the survivor using them is completely hopeless once the effects of those perks have worn off.
Trying to fill the statistic of "Less survivors dying, killers aren't strong enough" is nice and all except that you don't even need to understand how to play survivor to survive.
I could run finesse, lithe, windows and resilience and be able to loop a killer with ease simply because those perks give me certain boosts that are so much harder to punish.
If BHVR were to briefly remove say the top 5-7 meta perks, all survivor escapes would drop DRASTICALLY because no one using these perks even know how to play the game.
When your playing killer, yeah you can just be an M1 killer main and never use the power, but it only gets you so far. You actually have to understand how to play killer mechanically in order to get a 4K
My issue is that. The imbalance of the roles. Survivors could literally turn their brains off and win matches by doing nothing while killer actually has to lock in and focus most of the time in order to get the down. That's also ignoring all the times people bodyblock, sabo every hook, hold their flashlight out during chase etc.
Meta perks shouldn't be that powerful for either role. Perks are supposed to give you assistance in completing the objective, NOT give you an easy win because you vaulted the right window or dropped the correct pallet or even jumped into the locker early.
I personally don't run those perks because I find them boring and a bit of a waste. I want to learn the game instead of have the game do everything for me. Escapes feel more rewarding when you actually did something instead of getting everything done for you. It's why I run no mither (even if it has made me hate undetectable killers) because no mither forces me to actually BE GOOD AT THE GAME.
That's my overall issue. Regardless of what role I play, both sides have their own problems. Killer has to sweat super hard for the 4K because of OP perks while survivor can lay back with their feet up because they don't have to actually learn the game

Exactly my point.

I see you are also getting fed bully squad after bully squad tonight. Let them enjoy the over saturation of pallets while they can. Honestly, I felt for survivors getting screwed by the incompetence of the dev team scrapping all the changes. I thought maybe the basekit unbreakable could’ve worked, then 4 flashlights hovering for saves, jumping in lockers for flash bang saves, hovering under pallets all night reminded me why we can’t have nice things.
Exactly my point. They can't implement anti-tunnel/camp/slug mechanics until they deal with toxic bully squads. Otherwise, killer will become unplayable when going against a bully squad.

Us vs them, the dead horse of all time.
Toxicity on both sides plagues this game - and plenty of this game's players have spent years fostering feelings of tribalism that only get in the way of making the game better.
Anyway, if survivor is so easy its free - swap to survivor. Drive the kill rates as low as you can and the player count disparity as high as you can and BHVR will see the need to step in. Plus, you can get some better perspective on what about Survivor needs to change that way.
Always with the switch solution. Every competitive game always ends with "Well if you don't like it, switch". Why should players have to switch TO HAVE FUN. I enjoy KILLER, why should I have to move over to survivor and deal with the toxic killers from bully squad matches instead of playing what I WANT TO PLAY in the game I SPENT MY OWN MONEY ON.
Like with my point on No Mither. Why should anyone have to switch the way THEY WANT TO PLAY just because the game has issues that no one wants to actually acknowledge

Why learn to play against a new Killer when you can just claim they are OP and demand they be nerfed?
"It's never my fault." - The Survivor Main Motto.
MHM, ok. So have you not been paying attention to the killer? Have you gone against them or……?
Fun fact, he is invisible when he comes out of doors and they aren't very loud so it's very difficult to actually hear him coming through
There is really no reason for a man in an oversized bunny costume to be undetectable. It serves no reasonable function for him like it would for Myers, Ghost face or Wraith
The axe gives basically no cooldown for an M1 so you can pretty much insta down a survivor
And above all that, he is able to literally fly across the map with speed add ons because ofc he can
Yeah. I think that's fair too. You have such a good point. Lemmie go learn how to deal with a killer with insta downs, who can zoom across the map and who will never have a heartbeat because for some reason he is undetectable

I mean, by running No Mither you are exposing yourself to stealth killer’s main strength: the fact that they get first hits off pretty easily.
It seems a touch silly to complain about that when you handicap yourself in the exact way that massively benefits stealth killers. No I get that I am handicapping myself and I'm not complaining because I get hit. It's more that there is nothing I can run that would help me with managing the handicap without being forced to remove the perk itself.
But as I said, what's the point in having a perk like that in the game if you can just be undetectable and get insta downed without warning?
Especially when I can't even run something like Wiretap that would allow me to at least see the aura of a killer if they are nearby to give me a chance to react? What's the need to remove aura readings?
I get it for stuff like how old object of obsession worked where the killer could be seen if you were looking at him. That made sense because then what's the point in undetectable but now all the OP aura perks have been nerfed and you don't get that anymore so why can I not run a perk that allows me to be better prepared for an undetectable killer by seeing the aura?

Have you considered that killer players using perks that make them undetectable do so because they enjoy running them, and spices up their gameplay knowing they gave survivors a good scare?
Or are only you allowed to run perks you want and everyone should bow before your greatness and apologize for not catering to your every need?I've made my point VERY CLEAR in my post. Why does BHVR keep around broken perks if they are just completely denied any value just because a killer that doesn't need to be undetectable is undetectable
Like I'm sorry, why does every killer have access to it? What need do the other killers have to be undetectable when many of them are already hard to notice?
Just because your game has a mechanic for some doesn't mean it need to be a mechanic for all but if your going to make it a mechanic for all, you could at least give ways of dealing with it like aura perks that can help with it

Game sense also helps a lot. Is nobody being chased? Where did you see the killer last? Is there any chance at all they might be coming your way? What are your blind spots, and can you put your back against a wall?
I get that and I do try my best to work around that, however a lot of gen spawn locations don't provide a good enough place to sit without being at risk of getting grabbed or insta downed
Call me a psycho or an idiot, but I'm a person that runs No Mither and I do it to improve my looping skills (And yes, It has actually been working. It adds pressure onto my every move and forces me to analyse better) but that shouldn't then mean that if I want to run a perk that I enjoy running that I'm therefore guaranteed to get hooked all because the killer has no heartbeat when they don't have any reason to be undetectable

Ok and? Most killer stealth perks are also off meta and stealth in general is countered by the simple act of paying attention.
So the dozens of maps that have long walls or small spaces that provide no sightlines or any way of looking to see if the killer is there just doesn't matter then right?
Like Hawkins lab, Generator's in shack, Hospital map. Not to mention maps where the generator is in a jungle gym and there are very big blind spots that block LOS in that direction.
So basically, you need to be able to see through walls in order to counter stealth because ofc, it's not the stealth that the issue, it's the survivor/player

Stealth is a thing. Get used to it.
Yeah stealth is a thing, that's why people complain if you run perks like urban evasion as survivor because it's "Not a good perk". From what I've seen, it's commonly agreed that stealth perks like urban or quick and quiet are C tier at best because ultimately, stealth is a waste
But ofc, it's fine for killer to be undetectable. Ya know, the role that controls the match and ultimately influences the outcome more than survivor does
-
What's the point in them being in the game then? Why keep them there if they can't be used because of another mechanic that renders them useless?
What if I enjoy running invocations because it benefits my team? So basically I just have to get taken out in the first couple of minutes because I chose to use a perk in the game that was intended to be used but ultimately cant because of a mechanic that ultimately doesn't have a place or reasonable function to be on any killers other than wraith, myers or ghost face?
Those killers have powers that ultimately balance out the undetectable because yeah, you can't hear them but a ghost face or myers will still want to build up power off of you and your teammates before charging in to kill you. Wraith also. He still needs to uncloak before he can swing at you so it balances out
There is no reason any other killer should have undetectable unless their power absolutely requires it

@MarbleThrone said:
That last sentence kills your entire argument. Get off your high horse please, we can't hear you from down here.
Undetectable adds an element of uncertainty. Pressure. Keeps you on your toes, on the edge of your seat, and forces you to be keenly aware of your surroundings. Especially when you're in danger, like injured or in a position where the killer can show up from all around you. It makes callouts more difficult. You don't know where the killer is and when they may strike.
That, imo, adds value to the scare aspect of the game.
Also, I fail to see what Broken-inducing perks have to do with this.
Clean Break is temporary, For the People is temporary, Moment of Glory is temporary, Second Wind is temporary, No Mither is permanent but when you bring it you always back that up with something to cover you, such as Resilience or anti-tunnel, same with invocations. You can shield yourself from the effects very effectively.
Killers being Undetectable have nothing to do with this. "Comparing apples to pears", as we're wont to say in Dutch. As someone that has seen video's of the BHVR devs trying their game and realising how hard it truly is for specific roles, I can tell you that last sentence is perfectly valid. Why do you think insta blinds were removed? Are we going to pretend it's NOT because one of the devs got absolutely dominated by the SWF he was up against.
Undetectable is a fine concept on paper but in practise, there are more than enough situations in which a survivor has no way to react to a killers behaviour due to it and it's solely the fault of gen placements.
Are you suggesting that, while trying to do what your supposed to as survivor and work on gens, that you should be periodically leaving the gen every few seconds to check around long walls or corners to confirm if the killer is there just to go back to the gen, just to repeat?
There are more than enough situations and places in maps where a killer can literally come at you from around a corner that you couldn't see from the gen and insta pick you off of it. Soo…….. How do you propose someone reacts to that? because you can't use aura perks, undetectable removes any aura readings while active. So what's your solution to that then?
Broken perks have more than enough right to be mentioned. They are a perk within the game that ultimately cant be used in many situations where undetectable is present because it removes the lifeline of taking an initial safety hit before being downed.
The perks that provide temporary broken are fine, I'm more referring to No mither and the invocation perks because they provide a permeant broken status.
Now combine all of that and lets use an example.
Your running no mither/an invocation (And other perks of your chosing) and your broken. Your working on a gen in shack. You can see through the window and the 2 doors obv. Your keeping an eye out when, OOOOPS, oh look there's the killer through the door and UH OH your on the ground now and there wasn't much you could do about it because you had half a second to react.
This is applicable in many different situations because many of the generator spawn locations cause you to be blind in different points, making it impossible to know where the killer is and leading to you getting downed because no one can react to something that quickly
My issue is what if I want to run an invocation or no mither because I enjoy the perk but ofc cant because the killer has no indicator to tell me if they are near so basically I just have to go down? Just because I wanted to/enjoy running a specific perk that ultimately only really falls apart against undetectable?

I mean...the coughing really isn't as useful as you think it is, trust me. Also Doctor has something better, he has you screaming at random intervals PLUS the illusion Doctor's that give away your location, AND he can hide his red stain and stick it on to you, just to further mess with you. As for Nemesis, I ran a little experiment with me and a friend. I played as Plague and puked on them and counted the intervals between the coughs. You end up coughing every 1-1.5 seconds. With Nemesis and his infection, you cough roughly around every 16-18 seconds on average (had it go off closer to 20 seconds some times, and sometimes had it go off closer to 15, but average was in between 16 and 18). So yeah, the cough...not really as good as you think. Especially when with Plague it's more consistent. And you want to talk about how Nemesis destroys loops when Nurse exists? Nemesis doesn't hold a candle to her game breaking ability.
You have a good point. Nurse can also break loops but that's only if she doesn't stupidly blink into the pallet, or if you prematurely drop the pallet so you can trick her into blinking, you can also manipulate the nurse blinking away from you, since most nurses will assume they if they blink past a wall it will get them a hit in but nemesis just has to swing his whip into any action you perform to hit you. With the doctor you only get the red stain attached to you in chase it seems. i have never seen it like that any other time, the screaming can be stopped by snapping out of your insanity and i feel like the fake doctor only really appears, for me at least, when someone is in chase, being me or another survivor.

He never loses his tiers, that's why I say he gets stronger as the game goes on.
Not sure either if you can avoid a tentacle strike by crouching on low walls, but it is a better solution to go further of this wall than crouching IMO because it may give you the opportunity to run away if Nemesis decides to stop the loop and changing direction, so you have more escape routes (when he tries to mindgame you by turning back then walking reverse, etc)
When you say ziggzaging can cause nemesis to stop charging tentacle then hit you, yes of course it will happen, zigzagging when he is close to you enough is your last resort, other wise don't zigzag and try to keep your distance.
According to other survs using vaccines, wasting them and get contaminated right away... unfortunately this is the sad truth: there will always be bad survs who don't think with their brains :( That's why I say: try to not get contaminated too early. Easier said than done I agree, but like I said, as long as you are not contaminated, you are safe from the 1st tentacle strike.
Keep going my friend I'm sure you will get enough skilled to think the same way soon :)
Also, I don't know your looping skills. If you think you are not decent, have you tried to equip flashlight and actually try to improve by not hiding but RUNNING from the killer even if he haven't see you before? :) Because hiding can be very good yes, but if killer finds you while you crouch in a corner, it is a free hit, but if you already started running you will have kept your distance right away and you will have earned lot more time than if he finds you and hit you in less time.
My looping skills are trash. I can never really predict what the best path round is because i will run one way while the killer follows on the other side closing the gap between us, and without the pallet or window for some safety i get hit without chance of escape. also since i play on PlayStation its much harder to blind the killer because the controls are not the easiest to aim with. Of course that doesn't mean i wont try to use your advice, just gonna be harder to get into a good system with it because each map comes with its own problems.

I was gonna say, you think Nemesis is bad? Oh man wait until you hear about this one killer called "The Doctor" and see what he can do for not just pallets, but vaulting too.
I mean yeah i would still say nemesis is broken because he destroys loops. With the doctor although you get shocked if you can predict his movement you can use the pallet or window before his shock comes into effect. with that though doctor has to use his abilities to expose your location. nemesis just needs you to be contaminated for you to begin violently coughing every few seconds. So if your hiding when he appears you get caught. Doctor needs to predict where you are to reveal your location

It's three hits per survivor the first time, all with a speed boost on each hit, and assuming each survivor vaccinates it's another three the second time. And the tentacle definitely can be dodged unless you're in animation lock as with huntress and PH. Slinger and plague are the ranged ones where there's not much you can do when out in the open but the tentacle is pretty short range, thin (although you can flick it somewhat) and kinda janky to use.
Actually i take back my comments. Thinking about it, nemesis only feels unfair because all other killer so far have been very good at close range, where as nemesis only has a short ranges punch that isn't hard to dodge. Thinking about it i may just be tilted because I'm so used to short range killers where as nemesis is long range, yeah you have Deathslinger who is also mostly range but he is all about accuracy and you don't really see many of them in the game anyways. I just feel like the ability to remove escapes from survivors with his tentacle is a little BS because common solutions for other killers cant be used as much but i mean i guess that's the case for every new killer that comes out, requiring a new strat to deal with

" I'm not exactly new to the game but i wouldn't say I'm experienced and yet while trying to learn how to play survivor"
There is the main issue. As a 4 years player and a lot of hours in this game as much as survivor AND killer, A lot of people say he is a very low tier killer which I disagree on some points because yes he can be very strong. His true strenght is in anti looping potential. So yes a good nemesis will be able to destroy walls and pallets quickly in chase withtout losing a survivor from sight. Also, zombies can be good traps for loopers (still are very situational because there are only two of them and are rarely where you want them to be).
Remember these tips as I played as him and against him:
- As his tentacle may be a good anti looping weapon, as long as you are not contaminated, you are safe.
- That said, avoiding to get contaminated so he won't abuse you late game when all vaccines will be consumed can make you win a lot of time against his tentacle attacks, because yes, at the moment you are contaminated, a good nemesis can be very strong in chase against looping if he uses his tentacle, so if you manage to be a good looper you will avoid him to get stronger and stronger as the game goes on.
- Learn to know when and how to avoid his tentacle strike: you always hear when he is preparing a tentacle strike by this wetty sound. So, if you hear it when you are passing a pallet, try to anticipate the strike, dont drop the pallet so you wont be caught in the drop animation.
- Remember that preparing his tentacle strike decreases his movement speed a bit, so you can keep running and turning a corner mid-loop and try to win some chase time
- His tentacle strike is straight forward of the killer, you can try to run in zigzags to avoid it.
- Finally, when you are looping him with low obstacles/walls where he could strike you from the other side, forget what you learned about looping and stay far away from the angles and obstacles. You may think it is counter-productive because sticking to walls is essential to keep a distance from the killer in looping, but rememebr that while charging his tentacle, his movement speed is reduced, you won't let him catch up to you, so easily.
Hope this could help! Because in higher ranks, IMO Nemesis is not bad at all like a lot say, but I don't think he is OP at all.
Thanks for the amazing advice. I guess the real problem is that I'm so used to the other killers being better at short range rather than long range. Apart from Deathslinger every other killer focuses mostly around hitting your primary attack where as Nemesis is focused on hitting targets a little further away. I will mention that, Just like with the damn plague, there are greedy survivors that take all the vaccines for themselves, whereas i am used to plague and choose not to use them right away because its only going to help momentarily. I still don't agree that nemesis should be able to hit through windows and pallets, even with tier 2, where i believe he should prioritise the pallet over the survivor on the other side. Just a side point, i haven't seen the broken zombies ever. I play on PlayStation where they work fine, a little too well in fact, to the point i nearly died to one because i thought the range was smaller
-
@Aneurysm said:

I think it's balanced out by a limited range even in tier 3 as well as needing three hits with the tentacle.
But he doesn't really need 3 hits. that's only when there are vaccines and yet there is only 4 that can be used through the entire trial. His tier 3 may be limited but hits instantly so as long as your close enough to a survivor you just swing and they cant dodge, like with pyramid head or huntress. as well as that although the zombies get stuck everywhere, they are the only extra support ever given to a killer that is external to any of the killers ability's. The zombies can attack but they are also used for increasing contamination level, which is pointless since the level never runs out. you just get tier 3 and your done, never having to worry about hitting zombies or contaminating survivors again. Nemesis is one of the most powerful killers mainly because once your found, unless the killer literally has no clue on how to play and somehow loses you, you are dead.
-
@Aneurysm said:
Nemesis really isn't that bad, he's pretty average. People were freaking out over pyramid head last year as the most oppressive, gamebreaking killer ever and he's fine (and stronger than nem). They added a killer who can teleport through walls and ignore all windows and pallets in their first year and that didn't kill the game off either.
Other killers may have the same concept to ignore pallets or go through windows, but with nemesis you cant escape. He can hit through pallets windows making it impossible to escape because even if he misses, he doesn't take that long to be back to normal and his tier 2 can break pallets making any loops useless
-
You know what, forget i even said anything. I mean yeah you have a good point but like I'm really not planning on letting the game i spent a fair amount of money on just sit on my laptop. Yeah i find it just as annoying when someone disconnects but i deal with it and try to work harder. I'm not a technician or a computer geek, idk what is wrong with my WIFI. all i know is it's possibly got something to do with the heat of my laptop which i cant change because as I said I'm not a computer geek or technician, the laptop has a built-in fan that is always on max when I'm playing games. I get your frustration but I came here looking for some form of help or assistance on the matter, or to at least bring light upon an issue that others may be having. I really wasn't expecting a bunch of strangers on the internet to snap back at me because they don't agree since they don't share the same problem. People who have this issue shouldn't just have to stop playing the game they really enjoy playing because of issues they have no control over. Unfortunately people cant just pull money out of nowhere to fix problems like these.
