Hi,
I have a small question on the subject as well ! I've run into a couple of players with hateful usernames, but who did not linger in chat. Does this call for a Harassment report (even if they didn't actually say anything in chat) ?
I remember being on the same team as a survivor named like a famous german dictator... my friend and I reported them, but a confirmation that reporting this is allowed and won't just crowd other reports would be nice. =)
Have a nice day !
We do not handle player names I'm afraid - this is something that would need to be reported to the platform that the player was on.

Question.
Let's say someone said a death threat to me in chat. When I report them, does the report log the chat history? Assuming it does and correct me if I'm wrong. Why would a secondary report of a screenshot be required? You wouldn't need to worry about people photo shopping and etc. because the primary in game report has hard proof which can't be modified.
Again, could be a misunderstanding. And I might not know everything that happens behind the scenes.
for chat offences you do not need to send in a support ticket as we can see all chat logs.
My quote is to the user who advised they hadn't reported in game and not necessarily referring purely to chat offences.

it's sad that in-game report is requirement :( I have a screenshoot of a guy death-wishing in chat (he was streaming, some new streamer, i guess?) and yet he won't receive any punishment for it, because i can't report him in-game (VOD is already deleted, so, only screenshot left)
An in-game report is always required as this flags the match so we can see that this match actually took place. Unfortunately with editing screenshots and videos being as popular as it is these days, this is the only secure way that we can ensure we're taking action on the correct player.

Hello! Yes the reward was sent out shortly after the tweet. Anyone who was affected should now have been compensated - the reward is for players who couldn't log in at all during the Event, and were unable to claim the login rewards as a result, this was not just players on Xbox as there were other platforms affected also.
-
Just going to correct some information here...survivors are not confirmed to have a version of Unbreakable as basekit at all, this was something that was only early tested on a PTB with the Finisher Mori, it's not confirmed to go Live, it's also probably not the final rework of the Finisher Mori as the team is addressing a lot of the feedback that came from the test.

Imagine how an actual employees time is wasted on watching videos, delivering punishments, over people who can’t handle ignoring people or pressing mute. Or they could just actually fix these issues in the game. Cheating and harassment are largely due to the game being boring, on top of the mismatched matchmaking, this game is only a shadow of its former self.
To us this is not time wasting - it's about keeping our game as clean as possible away from this type of harassment. Players who spout racist/homophobic comments or death threats definitely should be punished, nobody needs to be on the receiving end of that type of harassment. And this is something we take very seriously, and will continue to do so.

Does your system register such things automatically or is still a report required
in-game report is required yes, as stated in the information we have on this forum here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/139-game-rules

There is a strong and established belief that devs never bother with banning people for says horrible things to others in post game chat.
Often they will outright say that there is no punishment and that this is ignored so they can insult as much as they want.
Is this true ? Are only rare cases responded to like if popular streamers report someone so they act on it ?
I assume insults count in the thousands daily and that devs just gave up on it.
yes we do ban for in-game chat infractions. There's a sliding scale where the ban starts off as temporary and works it's way up to a permanent ban, however one or more parts can be skipped depending on the nature of what is said and a permanent ban can be given instantly if the situation is severe enough to warrant it.
-
To clear this up, the recent PTB where the mori finisher (including the ability for survivors to raise themselves from the dying state), was only a test - it was made very clear that this was testing the mechanics on the PTB and would not be implemented anytime soon. We wanted feedback of an early test from our players and the system will possibly be revised after listening to that feedback.
I do not have any confirmed dates of when/if there will be a further PTB to test any further iterations of the mechanic.

I definitely won’t miss them… but hope to see more bloodweb and bloodweb-content improvements. Some offerings/items/addons feel very outdated and ‚punishing‘ to purchase
though isn’t there an achievement involving these? That should probably not be event-bound. Also why wasn’t this not part of any patch-notes (or was it?)
It should have been in the patch notes - you're correct, we're super sorry for that, it slipped through with the Event going.
They will still be back with Events - or some Events at least.
And someone made a great point about the achievement, thank you for that.
-
This is not a bug...the mystery boxes have been removed from the bloodwebs, it's part of the ongoing process to improve the bloodweb overall.
Will be watching for feedback on this removal very closely, so please feel free to head on over to the Feedback section of the forum to have your say on this.
-
They have been removed - it's part of our bloodweb improvements, so this is not a bug (I will go ahead and respond on the bug report to make it clear there also).
Will definitely be watching for feedback on this - so feel free to let me have it!
-
I'm closing this here, as this is not something that we wish to be discussing on our official platforms.
-
As an aside, it's not that difficult if you're aware of the survivor locations when the box spawns to anticipate where the box will be...same as at a start of a match.

Hoarder would only work if someone picked up the box though

I understand. Thank you, Mandy. Have a great weekend!
you too, and sorry I do not have more news. As soon as I do get some (and this is something that I check in with the team about regularly), I will share it.
-
I'm sorry but there is no further update from our end, it's still something we're planning on doing but we do not have a timeline that I can share at this stage.
-
Thank you @hastarkis for explaining this so clearly <3
-
We don't discuss bans on the forum even temporary ones. I suggest checking the game rules so you can avoid breaking any further game rules as these do have an escalation system and can lead to a permanent ban.

Hi @Mandy , are the amount of up votes important for your considerations? Because I think the most people read and write in general discussions.
It's a mix of things - comments, upvotes, what we see on our other platforms as well for example.

Are the comments made in general discussion also taken into consideration? or only the ones in Feedback?
I do not always have the time to read the full forum discussions, which is why the moderators do a fantastic job in moving posts to the feedback section.
-
Will just pop in here quickly to say yes, quite a bit of feedback from the forums has been used to make changes in the game - as well as feedback from other platforms.
It's not just feedback on people's ideas of which way to change something, but recognising that something is an issue as well. For example people request that such and such perk be changed - it's then for us to address why that's becoming an issue to see where the actual problem lies...as well as players ideas to address it, so whilst the final result might be different to what has been suggested, the feedback around it being an issue is definitely invaluable.
-
Unfortunately it's not been a simple issue to resolve, which is why the merge feature is still disabled. It's planned to be introduced prior to Stadia Closing in January 2023...but I do not have an exact date at this time.
-
Something like that would not be possible.

Damn, can't you get auric cells? Or killers? I want to unlock Ghostface for the quest line, but I don't want to spend money on the character. It seems like a ######### thing to do, IMO. Plus, unlocking these skins that I can't equip.. Is there any way to unlock the other characters?
Killers can be purchased via Auric Cells, full DLC's or by using Iridescent Shards which you earn with game time (note: licenced characters can not be purchased using in-game currency). Cosmetic items for your characters can be purchased with Iri Shards or Auric Cells - the prices of which are shown in the shop.
There are also skins that can be unlocked through the Rift...both on the free track and the premium track.
-
I can understand the sentiment, there are always going to be a lot of changes over time. This is a Live game and updates can happen regularly as well as us introducing new content. We do have a new player post on this forum which might help provide some information and clarification on some things for you.

The mystery boxes are always found in the bloodweb - you've probably had a few already without really realising it.

I was having issues where I couldnt play the game due to the game closing/crashing, but it was not as bad as everyone else since I was able to play for a decent bit of the event since I ended up re-installing the game multiple times to get my game to work.
I havent received anything despite this, do you know if I will receive compensation for this?
This compensation is for players who couldn't log in at all and missed the login rewards particularly. All those who were being compensated for this issue have, and have received their compensation.
-
@zanesuxx said:
How do we access these rewards? I’m one of the players that never made it past the opening cut scene the entire event. I missed the entire experience.
the rewards are automatically added to our players account, so those that were affected should have automatically received them.

A big smooch to all Dev team for hard work!
well thank you for the smooch! :)

Out of pure curiosity is it possible to get a popup for the Rift Fragments pretty please?
It's something that has been requested a few times yes, I've passed the request along.
-
It's an ongoing process...the fight against cheating is possibly something that will never be fully resolved but it's something we will always continue to work on.
-
There is a possible bug where in some instances the glyph does not spawn - it seems to happen rarely, but I do have a bug listed for this.

As a survivor I’ve had several times where I’ve vaulted out a window, been almost to the ground the killer reached and grabbed me and pulled me back up and through the window.
latency issues on the killer side benefits them greatly.
some of that is not latency - the killer is able to grab through a window and hit through a window if the survivor is not far enough away.
-
The queue bonus I believe is a visual issue, the bonus is being given but not shown.
This isn't something we're compensating right now, we are focusing on the players who were unable to play at all and couldn't gain anything out of the Event. And we have no reports of some login rewards not proccing for players - we can see that they actually did occur every day they were supposed to...however the rift fragments do not give a pop-up which is why a lot of players felt they weren't getting anything.
-
@Laluzi said:
Wait, there were iridescent shards in the halloween rewards? I never got any of those. It was only bloodpoints and rift fragments.
There wasn't any Iri Shards in the login rewards...the 2k shards that are being given out to players is what roughly they would have earnt had they been able to log in and play during this time.
The reward is being given out as some players were unable to login at all to receive their rewards due to an issue that prevented them from our side, hence this reward being done now for those players. It's automatic and those that were affected have already received the compensation.
-
I love this idea, and please let me know if we can support from a forum standpoint - any discussion around our characters is okay by me!

If main Wraith could answer this question:
why are almost all of you using NOED on this killer? ... 🤔
I don't. Not that I think anything is wrong with the perk but I prefer perks that assist me through the match and not just at the end.
-
@Gwinty said:
I have no problems with that. Just another reason to play Lightborn and laugh at survivors when they try to blind me or to use Starstruck and enjoy the salt when you chain your downs because somebody wanted to flashy safe...Killers will adapt and with locker blinds removed I have no issue. You have to be aware of your surroundings.
I think Locker Blinds being removed was an excellent choice as there was nothing the killer could do in those situations as they were heavily locked in animation and with many lockers being doubles together this was something that was clearly problematic.
I'm happy to trade locker blinds for giving survivors a small buffer to the blind timing - as the save is something I can do something about whereas locker blinds I couldn't.

I thought that was exactly how server validation worked, and that we were told server validation was fair?
Can this latency buffer also be applied to killer grabs, because timing is key for that too? Grabs are currently very survivor sided, because making a grab attempt is killer client validated, but the grab itself is server validated, which means the window for a successful killer grab is smaller than the window a survivor is doing a grabbable action.
There isn't server validation on flashlights at this present time - I do not have information if that will be a thing in future either.
And I understand your frustration on grabs, pretty sure survivors have the same frustration on window vaults as well!
-
I think Wraith will always be fairly popular, for a start he's a free character, has a power that's easy to understand and use and he's also kind of fun to play - I love surprising people as Wraith. Wraith was the 2nd killer I started playing as and I often still play as him.
-
With regards to the recent PTB, the timing on there was bugged as it definitely allowed the blinds to happen too early.
Part of the reasoning for adding the buffer is to allow for latency, as we all know when latency is present what the survivor sees is not necessarily the position the killer is in, and as timing is key for the flashlight blind to go through and get the save, which is why we often see reports of bugs where on the survivor side the timing is pretty much perfect however latency has said otherwise - by having the buffer in place, that should resolve that issue as well as helping out some newer players.
-
Once the killer has 5 totems under the effect of Hex Pentimento they are blocked permanently by the entity - which is shown in your screenshots. With Plaything in effect it's highly likely that survivors were cleansing totems and the killer rekindling them with Pentimento to get the full effect of the perk.
-
It should already be finished. PTB's always finish on a Monday.
-
A reminder here, that DC'ing is Unsportsmanlike and not to be promoted in any way on this platform.
-
I wouldn't be against this, when the gens are done the most fun part of his power for me is gone as I enjoy the sneaky teleporting and it does help for pressure.
-
The things you are mentioning are not "toxic" - they're actual things in the game! And definitely not griefing!
Survivors body blocking hooks to prevent hooking for a team mate - is survivors not working on gens, and free hits for the killer. At the very least you're going to have 2 survivors injured and if you drop the carried survivor in time, you're going to have 1 slugged at least one injured and others having to be off generators to heal the slugged survivor. It's free pressure for the killer. And no, certainly not something that should be allowed to skip the DC penalty.
