This is an open forum for ALL PLAYERS of DbD!
We value new players as highly as we value players who've played since release and they have as much right to their opinions and to express them here as you do. And I will not stand by and let someone be belittled because they are a new player and told that their opinions don't matter!
-
Or the fact that they're really busy, plus it's mid summer which is when a lot of people take holidays...
-
It's not against the forum rules, but it's something that I am looking at removing because it looks incredibly messy and it's not something we want happening on a regular basis.
-
yes this is know by the team (also happened to me a lot today as well).
-
I suggest giving your suggestion to the mobile team, this forum is for the core game (ps & console) only.

Thank you so much for taking the time to do this, and I am very sorry that you had a match like this.

Hi, you can send the video evidence to Support https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us I hope you made an in game report as well though as those are mandatory to show that the match took place.
FYI it's a lot easier to upload the video to YouTube and then just put the link on the website/form - videos can sometimes be too big to upload there correctly.

We do not advise altering any of your files, this can trigger an EAC ban and we will not be able to unban you.
Therefore anything you alter is done purely at your own risk
-
@xBEATDOWNSx can you try to update your console to see if that fixes the issue.
-
@bm33 are you still having that error now?
-
Can you still let me know if you are still having that error or if there is any other issue please?
Thank you.
-
Claudette has a huge variety of outfits the same as the other characters, same as hairstyles!
The outfits are designed per character model, they are not interchangeable.
-
Is this before or after the patch today? @xBEATDOWNSx
-
There's been no further information given out with regards to cross progression on the various platforms.
-
Hi, please can you make a post in the Bug Report section with all the relevant information - more details and link to sub forum here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/bugs
-
You can gift a brand new game on Steam but you cannot gift a game from your own library - due to Steam TOS and EULA that you have signed!
-
It was removed because it was a bug...I agree though it was funny to do.
-
I had it a couple of times last night, so it's definitely still in rotation
-
As I've said, that information was to give a loose number - as it wasn't used for matchmaking at that point, its not going to be 100% accurate. We said that in all our communication.
-
The same as I've said all the way through, since this was announced. If you care to read my posts on the matter you will find I've said exactly the same thing about it since it was released earlier this week!

Mandy is not the only mod/dev that exists and to be quite frank, she’s the only one that’s actually speaking out. She’s getting a lot of flack for nothing.
No worries Unicorn, that's my job! But thank you, I do appreciate the support <3

Because they don't know what's necessarily reducing or increasing their MMR...that's the whole thing behind keeping the conditions hidden.
It makes it much harder to "cheese the mmr" if you don't know exactly what the conditions are.
-
Survivors can only leave the trial via the Exit Gates with a RBT on their heads, if the RBT was put on after the last Generator has been completed - the trap will not activate (as there's no generator to activate it) and they are free to leave.
If you carry a survivor towards the exit line (past the cut off point within the exit gates) and the RBT is active, then the trap will not activate, because you, the killer has carried them to that point.
Finally a survivor may escape through the hatch at any time (providing the hatch is available of course) regardless of whether the RBT is active or not.
-
As I said the problem was only found today - it was communicated as quickly as possible. We expected matchmaking to be a little bit messy initially, a totally new system like this was always going to have teething troubles imo, regardless of date previously having been connected. And as soon as a possible issue was noticed - it was communicated to the community on this forum.
With regards to who the system will decide you play against, that will be the killer with the closest MMR to yours - regardless of what character that is. So if there's 3 killers with around the same MMR for example, it will most likely prioritise that killer who's been in the queue the longest (as I said, irrespective of what character that is). And fwiw I just played 17 matches, all were full red ranked matches and I played a wide variety of killers - so I don't think the argument of one type of killer is valid at all because MMR is a number not a character.
And we have said, we might reveal individual MMR's in the future - there's no set date for this to be shown though.
I'm sorry that you are being placed against players who are a higher MMR than you right now, I appreciate how frustrating that must be - but there's nothing further I can answer on that, the system is being looked at, an issue has been identified and hopefully will be soon adjusted.
There's not really much more I can say.
-
As I've said previously on this forum, the MMR has been running in the background for a little while (I don't know how long), it's not been used for matchmaking at this time though - so it was working on the previous matchmaking which as we all know, was not indicative of skill but of time spent in the game. So it was always expected to take some matches to even out - we expected around 10 matches or so to start to accurately predict people's rank (that's 10 matches for every player, and 10 matches on each individual killer) - that's a lot of matches.
That's an awful lot of data that has to be gone through before any error can be found and sadly this has taken a few days. But nobody has lied about this - this is the information that we've been given and I've done my best to communicate this effectively as possible as we did with the news post we made about MMR. It's something we will continue to monitor and adjust as we move forward if need be.
-
@90bubbel When Almo answers questions or responds to any thread on this forum, he's doing it on his own time, and he answers the question that he's able to. He's not able to discuss what's being worked on and what is being added/changed etc.
Nobody lied about matchmaking in the slightest, we've communicated everything that we have had to communicate. We even put a thread answering questions with regards to the new Matchmaking.
I addressed the 111 error earlier and said it's something that's being looked at internally, as yet there is no fix available. It's obviously only happening to a portion of the Community and that is always going to be more difficult to establish the cause and then fix.
Also want to remind you, that all this is being done during a Pandemic where everyone is working from their homes.
-
I understand why you feel the way you do @Freki but the information only became available today with the analysis - that's why I communicated it when I did. So it was communicated as soon as possible, I actually communicated on here whilst I was still in a meeting about it - that's how quickly we communicated as soon as we were aware.
I can answer your question about SWF - it will try to match the average MMR of the SWF's to a killer in that MMR range.
As to how the MMR itself is worked out, I don't know if it will be revealed how this is done - we said in the recent Q&A about the MMR that we would possibly show a players MMR in the future but as to showing how it's worked out, I would think that's unlikely.
With regards to point 2 - I don't believe this is the case, that the Survivors will have an MMR with regards to the killers that they face - so the matchmaking will take place purely to try to put the players with the closest MMR together and within the same server location area, independent of what character the killer is playing, only that the MMR is within matchmaking range.
-
Whilst more information might come out in due course (no guarantees of that), that's not something that can be answered at the present time.
-
Good luck with it @Wamps will be watching it for sure! Glad it finally happened for you.
-
@Halun apologies if we're having a misunderstanding. It's not my way to copy/paste replies, hence I merged a lot of threads so that the answer was done once...I only update when I have more information or if I can explain something further. I try to communicate as much information as I possibly can, for the sake of clarity...it is difficult sometimes though if we just don't have the information available. For example like in this MMR issue - we just had the information on this today, it did only come out this week so data has to get analyzed etc, the first thing I did was communicate it here...all of us would do the same.
And don't worry, I didn't take your comment personally. We're all on the same page with this - we all play the same game after all.
-
We're aware that things are not working as well as we would want them to be right now, and this is being investigated internally. As soon as we have more information we will communicate this to the Community.
-
@ProfoundEnding I don't have an answer as to why they are made that way I'm afraid. I like them though - there's no issues of hair clipping etc which makes me happy at least.
-
Must admit these are some of my favourite skins so far.
-
Can we not argue please? Lets try to keep this thread from spilling into another argument.
-
Unfortunately some issues do take longer than others to fix - finding the cause and then being able to fix it, can sadly take time. It's also probably more difficult when it affects only some people and not all (I am presuming that, because that's obviously not my area).
-
First of all, I'm not a Community Manger.
Secondly, I said nothing about "better things to do" - I said, other things to do. When we have already responded with all the information that we have.
There's 100k people on this forum and many other threads that I have to respond to - they're all members of the Community!
-
This is something that's been worked on internally - I don't have the information of when a fix will be available for it, but it is being given a high priority.
-
^^^^ exactly what @GoodBoyKaru said (thank you btw)

Regarding the MMR this is the first time anyone has fessed up that it's not working correctly. That's all anyone was asking for, or at least a lot of us.
I do appreciate that, it's something that I was just made aware of - I try to pass on information as quickly as possible. We have made some changes to our system on the backend, I believe there's further changes to come, but I don't have full information on that at this time...I like to wait until I have all the information available before saying anything about something, in case things do change.
-
I'm guessing the file was too large for the system.
What does work and is probably quicker, upload the file to YouTube (you can keep it private/unlisted) and put the link to it in the report form, that works just as well.
-
We're aware that the system is not working as fully as we had anticipated, this is something that the team is investigating.
I'm very sorry that it's ruining people's matches right now, I truly am - sadly there's no more that I can say other than that.

But isn't that exactly how you handled auras before they were fixed? Just copypasted a "soonTM" message?
Not even trying to imply anything here, but that seems kinda contradictory.
Nope, I think you'll find I didn't. I think you'll also find quite a few posts where I was saying how much I struggled with the aura's due to the fact I'm colour blind and as soon as I had information that we were making a change, I posted that here.
With regards to MMR, I know it's being looked at to see where it's not working perfectly on our side and that's all the information I have right now.
-
You can try, but without an in game report it might not get actioned I'm afraid
-
Looking forward to seeing this!
-
If you ever need to report another player, please make sure to do so on the in game tally screen first of all, then send any additional evidence to Support - https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us

Yeah, copy and paste is just too intensive for a forum moderator, not like it's part of the role or anything
It's not actually part of my job, no.
Plus, people wouldn't be satisfied with a copy/paste answer (quite rightly!). So it would change nothing.
-
This isn't a bug. Technically the survivors objective is to escape which is why it's in the objective category. Survival category is things that you do in match to stay alive - escaping a trapper trap, healing, mending etc.
-
I'm closing this, reminding EVERYONE this game has an age rating of 18 plus.
-
Gag order?
Nope, it's just that we'd be repeating the same thing over and over at this point and all of us have other things to do other than repeat ourselves!
