Yes, on Low the game is brighter. Which should be fixed if possible, there should not be a gameplay-advantage via Settings.
However, I play on Medium. I used to play on Ultra, but my GPU died a few months ago and the one I got is a lot worse, so I am stuck on Medium until I either become rich or GPU-prices become more reasonable (which will most likely not happen before the end of 2022 I guess).
a GPU dying in this current market is my absolute nightmare, so you have my sympathies with that.
And I also agree, that I don't believe there should be an advantage in playing on lower settings.
-
I play on Ultra, purely because it looks better.

Whilst this is a DbD Forum to discuss the game, we have a policy with regards to naming & shaming - which in fairness, most forums do.
Shaming individuals is not something we will promote and Content Creators/Influencers (whatever you choose to call them) are covered within that ruling.
The drama that unfolds on other platforms is not something that we wish on our forums, as it will go the same way. As people naturally take sides and then it leads to that spilling into arguments here on this platform.
-
There were some recent improvements made to Blight, especially for controller users - so that might be a good option!
I think it's a tough call between Oni & Blight tbh for me personally at least as I like both characters and enjoy playing against them - although I am awful with Blight, because of the movement...I am definitely more of an M1 killer myself. I tend to play mostly Legion & Wraith, with a bit of Ghostface and Myers thrown in now and again.
I've played Trapper in the past and he's not difficult to learn, knowing where to place traps etc is game experience and not that difficult imo but I wouldn't say he's weak, he can snowball quite well if someone steps in a random trap etc. But he takes set up time, and it can be demoralising when 2 gens pop before you've gotten into a proper chase as you really do rely on late game a lot with him.
I think, go with a character that suits your playstyle and that you enjoy playing - don't worry about what seems weak etc, there are many people that do incredibly well with Trapper for example despite you seeing that killer as weak, EntitysLeftHand, Otz etc both are incredible Trappers. A lot is dependent on your own playstyle and what you feel is enjoyable.

Whilst I appreciate the intentions of this post, I am going to close it.
As is inevitable with these threads they turn into a he said/she said and naming and shaming people involved is not acceptable on our platforms.
-
ouch!
And that would have taken me longer than 15 mins on my phone, I fat finger too much on the phone!
-
Our position on this whole drama is quite clearly covered under our forum rules, which prevent naming and shaming. We've all seen these threads in the past and I am sure we will see them again. This isn't about censorship, it's about not starting witch hunts and arguments on this forum that fall foul of forum rules. You're all aware the reasoning of the naming/shaming rule and it's a rule that is most definitely going to stay in place.
Thank you @Grandpa_Crack_Pipe for making a clear post on the subject and avoiding naming anyone in this matter, that is appreciated.
-
As these posts rapidly devolve into naming & shaming, we're not having this discussion on our platform.
-
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/49385/news-fog-whisperers-program-launch information on the fog whisperer programme can be found here.
-
We're not going to have this discussion on our platform as I've already explained. We have naming & shaming rules here, and these are quickly broken on these types of threads.

This is not the place for this discussion, as it's quickly going to go down the naming & shaming route.

Toxic: Hacking, wishing death, sickness, etc. on a person that you lost against in the endgame chat or messages for console.
Not toxic: Running perks, slugging, camping, tunneling, running the killers and add-ons you want, not giving hatch, hitting on hook, flashlight saving, flashlight clicking, teabagging, gesturing, any techs, looping, SWF, bringing the items you want, using keys, bodyblocking, and unhooking near the killer with BT.
Just wanted to say this
I'd agree with this entirely!

I really enjoy playing Pig. I'm not very good at mindgaming with her yet (I'm fairly decent with em I think), but when I can successfully fake a dash direction and land a hit, its a lot of fun...that and just crouching around and being sneaky.
Also to this day, having had the DLC since week 1 of its release, no one has booped the snoot when I'm playing Pig, and I am very sad about that!
I'd boop your snoot! <3

Can't wait for RE DLC to drop for the Nerf Nemesis/Buff Nemesis threads back to back. 😂
and you know it's going to happen!

@bm33 omg some of those could have turned out really nastily! Glad you've got no major lasting effects from them, especially the burn to the eye!
-
I have absolutely no problem with Corrupt Intervention either as a survivor or as a killer - it's a solid perk especially for killers that need that set up time early in the match (Trapper, I'm looking at you). I've used it on Legion in the past, but swapped out to Discordance now, as that suits my playstyle better.
-
This is something that was already tested internally, there was never a situation where it really worked/felt fair. The EGC is not supposed to be killer sided or survivor sided, it's just a mechanism to end the game to prevent hostage situations such as the old "Hatch Stand-offs"
-
I'm accident prone (ready clumsy!)...so I always have minor accidents, the last one was a couple of months back when I jammed my hand in the car door and broke my fingers, then on the weekend I walked into the handrail on my stairs and cracked a bone in my elbow.
On the glue story (glad the cut is not too bad btw), I forgot that superglue was pretty strong and managed to glue my fingers to my leg - I'm not even sure how it happened. :)

We're like polar opposites, i could never see myself have fun preparing like that.
I like to just throw myself into the event.
This is like me, I never prepare for events...I'm also useless at saving BP cos I like to spend them after each match whilst waiting in lobbies!

so i played a round of bubba there was a felix that got farmed and i was bubba so i took advantage over that i downed the felix and picked him up because he's dead on hook so before i kill him he dc's and complained in end game chat because "i play to win"
It's not wrong, it's probably not the most fun thing for the Felix as they had no control over being unhooked or not...but it happens and you just move on from it.
I don't tend to rehook someone who's been farmed off the hook like that - I go for the unhooker after slugging the person who was hooked, it also creates more pressure that way, as there's one survivor slugged, one being chased and one that will go and get the slugged survivor up.
-
Anything like this is "use at your own risk" - if you do get banned, we will not unban you.
I've also removed the links that were in this thread as we do not promote these things on our forum.
-
Rank Rewards won't be implemented until the whole ranking system is changed and MMR is implemented, there's currently no date been announced as to when this will happen and no MMR is not on, it is not matchmaking currently - it is active, in that it collects data, but it has no affect on matchmaking whatsoever.
When MMR is ready to be turned on or tested this is something we will communicate about, as well as the Rank Rewards.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
today being monday could explain it
Mondays are to be blamed for lots of things!
-
I will keep saying it, but no MMR is not active at the moment in the matchmaking sense, it's collecting data only. It's not matchmaking at all, we will communicate prior to (when/if) MMR is turned on, as we have done in the past.
-
I'm just going to put my eyes in here, just to remind people not to name content creators on this thread...you've all been great about this, but I want to make sure that we're staying within the forums naming & shaming rules.
-
Speeds are exactly the same on all platforms, this is not something that's platform specific.
And crossplay is probably very useful for Switch as it's a smaller playerbase in some countries - people there would have a lot of trouble finding matches I guess without crossplay.
-
If you're on PC, please take a look at this thread: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/223855/myers-the-evil-within-bug#latest
(it applies to both Myers & Ghostface)
-
If anyone who had the skin and didn't receive their full BP points, please contact Support.
-
Anything done to the game files is done at your own risk, as this is not supported by us. So we do not allow information on how to do these things on our platform.
-
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/139-game-rules I'm linking this again. Camping/slugging/tunneling are not toxic, they're not unsportsmanlike behaviours - they're actually part of the game.
-
MMR is not actively matchmaking at the moment, it was used briefly for a test but is not currently active in that regard. Right now, it's a background programme that's collecting data only.
-
We will delete threads that mention how to do the glitch as naturally it's not something that we wish to promote on our forums, and it can lead to a warning for the user who does it as well.
-
This is not something that needs to be reported as we do not ban for "glitching" cosmetics.
-
Naming and shaming rules cover it!
People are free to discuss the points that were brought up but not the individuals involved in the situation - or allude to them.
For that reason, it's probably best not to discuss that here.
-
This is nothing to do with matchmaking...purely RNG although things like Tome challenges do affect it.
I find I can not go against a specific killer for ages, then get 3 in a row for example.

You state these are not bannable offenses Camping, tunneling, and slugging. Yet state "Grief" offences then describe the offences that are not bannable??? If these cause grief during game play. If survivors disconnect due to camping, slugging, and tunneling: you contradict yourself. Obviously this caused the player grief and poor gaming experience. If not would they not have to stayed on. Then furthermore the game penalizes them for having a grief issue. Now tell me how grief is defined if not all right there as described???
Camping - causes grief due to poor gaming experience and us targeted by killer.
Tunneling : causes grief due to poor gaming experience due to being being targeted and repeatedly downed/hooked.
Slugging : causes poor gaming experience due to unsportsmanlike conduct. Refusing to hook the player and move on. Targeted for being upright in a moveable position and not on ground.
Yet these offences are bannable buy we at dbd choose to ignore them for whatever reasons.
no, I will tell you again that camping, tunelling & slugging are not bannable, or reportable or griefing. They are actually mechanics that can be used in the game.
^ from the game rules, for examples of griefing. Which is targetting a specific user over several matches (as it says repeatedly, this is not repeatedly in the same match!), or working with the opposing team in order to grief team mates. Those are what is considered griefing in game, camping/tunelling/slugging is not!

It's what makes him not fun. Only other thing would be maybe up his movement speed in frenzy. When compared to a hit and run wraith now he just has so many drawbacks in comparision
mhm I could go for that as well.

Mods swinging away with INSANE IDEAS!
lol but no I second this. I've had to stop playing legion because his power feels so bad to use.
I'm a player of the game as well as bhvr employee, so I do have my opinions on certain things. But yeah this is what frustrates me the most whilst playing him.
-
BT doesn't work when you unhook yourself, it's only if the rescuer has Borrowed Time will it work.
If you as a survivor have the perk equipped and you kobe or someone (who doesn't have BT equipped) unhooks you, the perk will not proc.
-
Did the rebind solve the issue?
-
Are you sure that you've not purchased these perks in the Shrine of Secrets?

Think they've got plans to provide more insight near the chapter release or during the anniversary event?
I can't give a timeframe of when the information on this will be given out I'm afraid.
-
I think without knowing exactly what "Boon Totems" do or how they work, it's pretty hard to make a discussion around which perk should be used as a totem perk.

I have used it on several occasions. It's added awareness is nice, not crazy or anything.
Also, pretty much what @MandyTalk said. I pretty much only stick to Cold Dirt and Joey's Mix Tape. I absolutely despise that 4 second fatigue.
I think we're in agreement quite a bit over Legion, however you are far more skilled with them than I <3

Having a Mori is still better than not having a Mori. You might not get to tunnel someone out of the game after their first Hook to secure an easy win, but you can avoid:
- Saves in any way (Pallet, Flashlight, Sabotage, Bodyblock)
- DS after the second Unhook
- potentially waste of time (because carrying to the Hook might take longer than the Mori OR because you have to wait out DS, if you want to avoid it that way)
They are obviously not as useful as before, but this is totally fine. They were busted and everyone with a few hours in the game should realize it.
100% this tbh.
-
This is not a bug.
The cross hair is there to prevent motion sickness.
-
I just want Feral Frenzy fatigue to be reduced, even 1s down to 3s I'd be happy with.
