Very bad news.... MMR still not working.

It's been a whole month since i check that MMR works or not, but i have still vety bad news for the devs... MMR IS NOT WORKING. The game constantly match me with 3-4k hour rank 1 survivor as a rank 9-10 killer, and it reduces the fun of the game significantly.... i hope that i don't have to write this same post 1 month ago, and MMR will work as a charm!

  • MMR is not active.

  • uhhh, mate, MMR isn't active yet, that's just the DBD matchmaking we have right now that devs are scrapping entirely for what will inevitably be a even more broken system instead of improving it

  • MMR is not actively matchmaking at the moment, it was used briefly for a test but is not currently active in that regard. Right now, it's a background programme that's collecting data only.

  • MMR is not active and even if it were.. you want to judge it by how accurate rank based matchmaking works? Which MMR is specifically not designed to do?

OP: "Bad news! MMR doesn't work!"

Aven_Fallen: "I'm gonna ruin this person's whole career."

  • They should probably just be honest with us; it is never going to work. About a year now of gathering data and every field test a bust. It won't work, can't work, because of SWF. No formula works because of the way a SWF interacts and can be built. Think about the different variations.

    1. Do they average the rating of all the Survivors combined and that is matched with a Killer rating within a certain margin?
    2. Or should all Survivors match the Killer's rating within a certain margin?
    3. When people build a SWF with radically different Ratings, #2 above won't work.
    4. Can the entire MMR be undone simply by someone creating a new account and joining a SWF?
    5. How would a complex formula possibly work with the Queues. Currently matchmaking takes 2nd to Queues.
    6. And about that Rating, how the heck is it calculated. Why won't they tell us?
    7. I mean if it is rated on Kills or Escapes, those numbers are wildly erratic based on farming, disconnects, Rifts, etc.
    8. Does it take hours into account? If so, wouldn't one member of the team having new hours toss the whole thing in the bin?
    9. The MMR rating is supposed to be different for different Killers so that implies the only think they can measure is Kills.
    10. What data, exactly is it gathering. Why won't they tells us? I'm pretty sure after a certain point gathering more data doesn't affect the bell curve much. What could they possibly know about me in two weeks that they didn't know about me six months ago? The collecting data thing is just kind of moot because clearly the data they use doesn't work.

I'm not trying to sound like a Debbie Downer. At this point I'm more of a Pragmatic Pete. It doesn't work. It isn't going to work. You might as well come clean and tell us it isn't going to work so expectations are properly set.

Thanking freaking God someone else understands how SWF breaks Matchmaking, of any kind, it's not just MMR. All they have to do is treat SWF as KYF, a side mode and join those two pools, effectively any killer or SWF can play together without screwing the MatchMaking and ranks. You can all go Solo and be on Discord anyway. You're only using SWF to break the MatchMaking to screw Killers.

They won´t tell us how the system gathers it data. What it considers good skill. Simply because people would then abuse that knowledge to trick the system into getting easier matches.

The last 24h test worked fine for me. I had fair matches on both sides. The only people that complained were streamers. Which logically have a huge skill difference to everyone else and therefore are getting much harder matches than everyone else.

SWF is breaking the mmr, so i guess they already accounted for it and the game tracks who gets regularly matched with whom. Adapting the mmr accordingly.

I hope you are right but right now the MMR System is like Bigfoot or a Unicorn, oft reported but nobody much believes anymore.

  • hey,

this is your third discussion on exactly this topic within just a few month (and checking your profile you made at least 5 of them since August 2020)

we get it, you dont get matched fairly.

we all know and agree that this sucks aswell.

but PLEASE stop making the exact same discussion every other month, it is getting annoying and you just end up getting the exact same responses every time aswell.

MMR is not active for matchmaking and it will stay that way until the Devs openly announce for it to do so.

YOU REALLY DONT NEED TO COME BACK AGAIN AND AGAIN TO REPEATEDLY TELL US MMR ISNT WORKING, BECAUSE IT CANT WORK IF IT ISNT EVEN ACTIVE YET.

    Thank you.
