Can you give me more information on how this happened, I know I've seen it in the past but I don't think we've ever been able to repro it - so any information you have will be of great help? And also how often it happens? Thank you.
-
I'm going to close this here.
Also, please remember a game ban showing on someone's profile on Steam, doesn't necessarily mean it's a game ban by DbD.

That means your input is getting to the server slower than the killers. The server can only know what it knows about(what the clients send it). If you throw down a pallet (you begin sending that data to the server) and the killer lunges at you, if the killers lunge gets to the server first you are going to be hit. Even if you threw the pallet 10 seconds ago, if it takes 10 seconds for the message to travel from your computer -> across networks -> to the DBD server, you will still get hit.
That's a very good explanation of it.

- Wrong. And here's the direct quote from the patch notes "Stun validation has been added to the hit validator. If a Killer has a pending stun on the server, the server will reject the hit. This will be most noticeably in situations such as a Killer who is attacking at the same time a survivor is throwing a pallet, and it should reduce instances where survivors appear to take damage after stunning a Killer."
- Notice the lack of "if the pallet was dropped 50% of the way". Stop making things up that don't exist.
I can actually confirm right now that a pallet stun will only occur once the pallet is roughly halfway through the drop animation - it does not occur at the start of the animation.

We have communicated about this, and advised that there will be compensation of BP & Rift Fragments to our Switch players once the update is available, the rift will also be extended. Further information on this can be found here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/268407/nintendo-switch-update-5-1-0/p1?new=1 we are sorry that we were unable to release the update on all platforms at the same time.

This happened to me on PS4 as well.
Thank you for letting me know.
-
@Northener1907 I'll send you a message.
-
Is this only happening to players on PC? And can you grab me your Cloud ID's and or logs, so that we can look into this further please?
-
If you have your logs from that match, this would be really helpful, thank you.
You can find your logs here:
1. Press Windows Key + R to bring up "Run".
2. Type this in the "Run" prompt: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\DeadByDaylight\Saved\Logs
3. The file called "DeadByDaylight.log" is your log file. Please attach it in your reply.
-
Sorry but we don't have any further information as of yet, as soon as we know the date of the update I am sure that we will announce this on our social media platforms.
As to the technical specifications of the game, the store page on Steam will give you an idea of if your PC is able to handle playing DbD - it states the minimum & recommended specifications.
-
The bug is a visual bug, can confirm that it's not having an in-game effect.
-
Yes having looked into this further, it does seem like a visual bug, and it doesn't have an in-game effect.

So I've been trying to get the two new charms for Greek Week and it keeps saying "This code cannot be redeemed on your current platform" is this because of the Nintendo Switch delay? Does that mean I have to wait for the update to come to the Switch? The code for the charms aren't time-sensitive are they?
This is due to delay with the update yes, the codes are not going to work without the patch. We will have more news shortly for our Switch players and will resolve this situation.
-
OK, I've double checked on this and I believe that the news has now been updated to reflect the correct information - the in-store prices shown are accurate. 50% of for Auric Cells and 25% off for Shards. I do not know why this is different this time around, but the in-game news now reflects the correct information.
-
Thank you, I'll check on this right now.
-
Do you have a screenshot of the sale on Elodie and/or The Clown showing the prices for Iri Shards?
-
Are these happening around pallets by any chance?

It would be nice to not have the hit animation and sounds play if it's not a hit though. I was playing last night and had this happen. The animation, blood splatter and everything played. So I looked away for a second while breaking the pallet. Come to find lori is half way across the map 😑
I agree, and that's something that I will bring up as that's a really valid point
-
Can you confirm if this had an in-game effect or was it a visual thing?
-
With the way the new "Stun Validation" works, is that the server will prioritise the person with the best connection to it - so there might very well be cases where survivors still get hit through the pallet in their eyes due to them having a higher ping to the Server than the killer, and vice versa.
The thing with a pallet stun is that it applies the stun when the pallet is roughly 50% dropped (it has done that for quite some time, years), and I'm seeing quite a bit of people not realising that and think that if they're starting to drop the pallet then they're safe, which is obviously not the case.

Nothing changed in Billy's animations in todays patch as far as I'm aware.

Please keep this topic respectful and actually on topic please.

It’s not showing up for me yet and it’s past 11 am on July 27th !!!
As we announced yesterday, the update has been delayed until further notice. All information that is currently available is in the link I posted in my previous comment.
-
no problem at all!
-
There is an acknowledged bug report in on this, and the team is aware. Thank you.

We do have an acknowledged bug report in on this and the team is aware, thank you.

The bloodhunt will still happen on Switch, the platform is not being excluded from the bloodhunt.

The update will be delayed on Switch, there's more information on that here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/268407/nintendo-switch-update-5-1-0/p1?new=1

I think this explains it better than I would!

So, after a few matches, this is what I've found:
Survivor:
Some lag when loading into a game, and a few random lag spikes per game, so no big deal.
Dead Hard: it works, i used it about 10 times and it only lagged a tiny bit on 1 of them.
Killer:
Some lag when survivor unhooks or Dead Hard's.
Nemesis: no lag at all
Deathslinger: no lag at all
For the most part I would say its a 90% improvement.
Glad that there's been some improvement for you.
-
There is no refund on virtual goods - this includes skins. Please refer to the EULA where this is explained, as this is a Live game you accept that changes can be made.

My concerns were unfounded. Game is beatiful once more!
Thank you for fixing this!
whew I was worried for a second there, glad it's resolved for you!
-
Watching that slowed down, yes the killer got the hit prior to the pallet reaching the halfway point....it was a pretty slow pallet drop, sorry.
-
There is a bug report in on this already, and the team is aware.
-
Most likely due to the way the files are packaged on each platform.
-
I was going to say, I'm still downloading so might be too soon for people to tell yet.

To compensate switch players.
This isn't in relation to Switch compensation. Some people received a login reward a little early - but more information on what this is for, will be explained very shortly.

Unless it's our Official Merchandise from the DbD Store, I'm sorry but we cannot allow advertising on this platform - especially from things that are expressly in contradiction to our rules around merchandise.
For anyone who's interested, the information can be found here but what can/can't be done with fan made items: https://www.bhvr.com/fan-created-content/

Whenever I play SWF we seem to have a competition as who can troll the others the hardest - normally by giving false information. Or a friend saying "I'll Head On save you - save fails to happen, ohhhh I'm not running Head On". We definitely play to have fun, and most of the conversation isn't even game related as we're discussing other stuff that's happening in our lives.

Get in your last few hours of crossplay, you probably won't be seeing it again for a while. I remember the last time the developers weren't able to get an update out on switch (also surrounding an upcoming event that we never got to play but this one we do because it's just a bloodhunt), it took them about 2 weeks to push out that update.
Don't worry though, we'll all get 10k bloodpoints and 5 rift fragments for our patience. (That one was sarcastic)
Hey devs - have you ever considered NOT breaking news like that the day before an update? Just wondering because it feels like, after reading your tweet again, that you're keeping the midchapter away from switch just for the fun of it. We all know you're not ACTUALLY going to fix these performance issues.
The reason we released the information is to advise Switch players not to expect an update today - so that they have advanced warning of it, which is in the interest of fairness.
I find it very difficult to believe that anyone would think we'd delay an update for "fun"
-
Whilst feedback is always appreciated, I do not think saying that DbD is sexist is in anyway constructive or at all helpful.
There's better way of expressing your feedback with regards to somethign without bring sexism into it.
-
I'm afraid not. We have never announced cross progression between those two platforms, we are only aware of Cross progression coming for Switch - which will join the existing two.
We are aware that our players want cross progression from other platforms and it's something we will continue to work towards, but we cannot guarantee if/when it will happen.

Yeah I don't understand why they haven't removed the offerings from the blood web considering that they're still deactivated. Those are blood points I'll never get back. 😕
The offerings weren't removed from the bloodwebs so that people could still collect them for when they were re-enabled. Once the offerings have been enabled, the ones you have already collected will be able to be used.

To anything related to creating your own content from DbD, the answers are all on the website here: https://www.bhvr.com/fan-created-content/

Once the gens are done? Yes of course. Camp to your hearts desire, it only makes sense. But surely it wouldnt be too hard to implement a system where a killer within a certain radius from the hook for over a set amount of seconds starts losing BP?
There's been a few things tried and suggested over the years, but unfortunately it's not that simple. There are many times when a killer can be near a hook, chasing another survivor, Endgame, checking on a nearby virtually completed gen etc. You can't really punish the killer for camping, at the end of the day, if the survivors play to complete gens in that time then the camping killer is going to be punished with not much bloodpoints anyway. And you also have perks to encourage leaving the hook, BBQ, Make Your Choice etc. As well as perks to help with safe rescues - ie Borrowed Time.
Also, whether it's liked or not, camping is a legitimate strategy in this game.
