I really don't get this idea of uncountable. Maybe I just haven't leveled him up much, but he seems ridiculously easy to dodge.
I was a Slinger main for most of last year. No, he isn't easy to dodge. It's actually mathematically impossible thanks to human reaction time, projectile speed, and physical limitations of in-game movement to dodge a shot from The Redeemer unless you are close to maximum range. Which to be perfectly honest, is the reason that good Deathslingers don't take max-range shots unless they are showing off.

Because I didnt know its dbd lore sherlock. I had no clue what this is
You very clearly knew they were appearing in the game because of tome challenges, as stated by your sarcastic response here
So maybe don't be so arrogant, because the only other reason you could possibly be asking is a lore question. Which you apparently don't care about and insist that no-one else does here

lol its outstanding how much effort they put into lore right? It feels like 10% at most care about it. Im not one of it, DbD Lore is boring af
Which sends extremely mixed messages in the process that leads to the confusion of: Why ask a question you didn't want answered?
-
Something tells me you haven't seen many deathsquads or bully squads.

Then why did you make a thread asking about DbD lore?
-
Deathslinger is ridiculously uncounterable. They need to address that before trying to buff him, or else we're going to end up with another Nurse situation. DbD doesn't need uncounterable killers, that's not fair on the survivors, just like it doesn't need maps like The Game or Haddonfield.
And requiring pinpoint accuracy doesn't remove the "OP" part, not at all. If something is uncounterable, it's uncounterable, simple as that. And he walks around at 110 speed with a fully wound hatchet that travels in a straight line and is small enough to hit you through tiles?
-
If 2 is accurate then it seems like a bug.
-
Just a bully doing their thing. Can't change it, can't stop it, all you can do is keep in mind why they do what they do.
Spoiler alert, it's usually not because they have a pleasant and happy life.
-
Do what's best for you. My own experience learning Nurse was completely addonless, albiet split up across pre-nerf and post-nerf (her spammability had let me miss most my blinks but win by... Well, spamming them, so I know what its like to home your accuracy).
I would suggest simply not using add-ons. It will be harder, but you will also adapt quicker. So I guess the choice facing you is whether or not you want to get the suffering over and done with, or lessen it by spreading it out.
-
No. A perfect team will just slam the gens and open the gates in less than 3 minutes. Throw in 4 DS/UB/DH/IW and not even Nurse with Ruin/Undying/Infectious/I'm All Ears can do a thing. There's a reason most tournaments have rulesets designed to mitigate this. And if we're talking add-ons, well, toolboxes aren't as nerfed as some people want to think.
Also it's boring AF to watch, so that's actually the main reason, but the imbalance is a close second.
-
The Game and Haddonfield, for both. As a survivor I don't like abusing broken loops, and those maps are just... Ugh. Plus The Game now has those ######### dead ends that are somehow supposed to balance out the fact that everything is a god pallet.
-
All they do is bind it to their scroll wheel. Not even a macro.
Not to deny that some are macro users, just that even these macro users are often using in-built macros in their hardware.

Trans people often undergo HRT to change their biological gender. Some intersex individuals also undergo a similar form designed to balance them between male and female.

Spencer Charnas, the front man from Ice Nine Kills.
They are a band all about horror, with their last album having songs directly about Scream, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Nightmare on Elm Street, Saw, Halloween and even Friday the 13th if you count Trapper.
-
You are aware that one of the biggest tropes in slashers is about sex?
Beyond that, representation is important. If all you see is straight people, it makes LGBT+ people seem even more alien, and we get ostracised even more. And besides, we've been asking for years and it still hasn't happened is it really so surprising the forums have exploded this time? After all that pent up frustration that the game tries to include every bit of diversity except for us?
Edit: maybe I should add a little something else: It's not about who we sleep with. It's about identity. About acceptance.
-
I prefer Ruin on killers with good map mobility or snowball potential, Corrupt on killers without a decent bit of both. For example, I'd use Ruin on Oni, Nurse, Plague, Spirit, Legion (sounds wierd but they're a special case thanks to mending), The Twins, and Blight. It goes well with Undying, so it lasts longer, and Infectious Fright, because snowball.
Corrupt I'd use on killers like Pyramid Head, Deathslinger, Huntress, Ghostface, Trapper and Hag. It goes well with Pop for a mix of early/late pressure, or Surge on m1 killers to get automatic gen regression.

It's just wierd to me the amount of "I don't care so NO DON'T ADD REPRESENTATION!!!" that has been going on. Either you don't care, or you're a bit of a closeted homophobe. Not really much middle ground.
It's not like there's any additional work adding an LGBT+ character, either, in fact it's almost easier. The trope of a straight couple being torn apart had lost much of its charm, but a queer couple still has a teensy bit more pop-culture mileage before the pitchforks and torches come out.
-
I DIDN'T KNOW HOW MUCH I WANTED A RAINBOW PLAGUE SKIN PLEASE GODS MAY THIS BE A THING!!!
(PleasePleasePleasePleasePlease I wanna vomit rainbows and sunshine on people please Devs make this a legendary skin we already have Mr Puddles and whatever Legion is please)
-
Because we all know that horror is a cis heterosexual domain that doesn't involve sexuality at all (please ignore the entire slasher genre that DbD is based on)
Wait, if I kiss my girlfriend do I get killed first or survive til the end? I don't even know how it works. See? This is why we need LGBT+ rep, I don't know where I cannonically get stabbed :(
-
Unless the survivors are being unpleasant, I go for 12-hook trials. Getting kills can be so very easily cheesed and it doesn't feel right. That's not to say I overextended trials to the point of babysitting survivors, but nor do I facecamp 2 people in basement.
-
Please no. The red stain is so much stronger than Bloodlust, it is the cornerstone of almost all mindgames. Removing it would be a big nerf to experienced killers.
-
Quickly shoves No Mither / Mettle of Man back in the closet
Hmm, yes, um, all SWF is sweaty SWF, hmm-mmghm, yes, quite. Grrrr.
Seriously though, solo que is not balanced. Even a team of 4 amazing solo players can get absolutely shat on by a Pig, a Clown, a Trapper, a Wraith... It's not pretty. Solo que is extremely underpowered. The balance of the game lies somewhere between solo que and deathsquads.
-
It depends on the specific killer. Infectious Fright on Nurse? Ruin on Oni? Bamboozle on Bubba? Pop on Freddy? Stridor on Spirit?
Or the specific build. Legion with the mangled add-on, Thana and Ruin/Undying? Freddy with Pop, Corrupt, Sloppy and Thrilling Tremors? Spirit or Nurse with Devour Hope/Undying?
Also, pop barely got nerfed, you can still totally cross mother's dwelling and kick a gen. The lower timer just means you can't also chase someone. Plus Ruin is stronger than every it's just not free early game pressure (and the meta has shifted somewhat more towards early gen slamming).
-
Are you seriously bragging about having a long chase on the map with 20+ safe pallets agasint a rank 16 killer?
I, too, can eat a bowl of spaghetti in under 3 hours.
-
It's a nice idea, but it's not the same. It's not so much about people wanting to play as characters that remind them of themselves, but more about people wanting concrete proof that the videogame world they immerse themselves in is as wonderfully diverse as the one we all live in.
-
Yeah, there's a lot of Caucasian dudes, albiet of varying cultural backgrounds. It'd be nice to have some more variety in the boys as well 🙂

It shouldn't matter. If I said I was banned for 3 or 12 minutes of said reason, no one would blink an eye.
Imagine DCing twice because of bad matches. Then DCing twice again because of game crashes. You'll end up with a hour ban. Is that fair? Is that justified?
Yes. The 4 "short" bans are there precisely for crashes or bugged trials, not so you can rage quit. If you're getting more than 4 drops within a 24 hour period, then perhaps consider taking a break until your connection is more stable.
-
There kind of isn't any, not in general.
For example, Dead Dawg Saloon. Super killer sided, right? God-tier map. Unless the killer has no anti-stealth and/or the survivors know how to play the loops. Then it's GG EZ.
Hawkins. Crap pallets, crap windows. No potential, right? Except many survivors have figured out how to chain tiles that are individually weak but quietly become infinites, plus there's just some good hidden tiles that get buffed by open doorways, or closed doorways. And come in as Huntress or Blight and it's just a big ol' nope.
Azarovs Resting Place. Okay, this one is just killer-sided no matter who you are or what you have. This is a map killers lose on because they played nice, not because they got outplayed.
Shelter Woods, or as I like to call it, Hold W Central. Shite loops, but it's just so BIG! Bring in any killer with bad mobility and it's another GG EZ.
Let's go a little more controversial. Grim Pantry. Most people consider this the more survivor-sided of the two swamp maps. But as Trapper, I drool all over myself when I see this name on my screen. I get Grim Pantry and I'm in heaven. I would honestly choose this map over almost any other map in the game to play Trapper on, even despite the trap spawns.
My point isnt that these maps are survivor-sided. I'm not claiming that. I am trying to point out that the uniformity of survivors makes it easy to make a blanket statement about survivor-sided maps, but killers have too much diversity, and what one character or build may love, another will despise.
-
Sloppy Butcher for killer and Kindred for survivor.
-
No, he's a 115ms killer. It's probably just his animation making you feel slower than you are, kind of like how his basic attack looks way shorter than it is

They probably won't, but we can always hope.

Ostracized for what? Its a cat-and-mouse video game dude, not something to be taken serious.
I'm not just talking about DbD here. But to specifically talk about DbD, it's been four years and no LGBT+ inclusion in any of the roster. You may not think it important, but that's the kind of mentality that leads to LGBT+ people being marginalized irl. Because humans are kind of dumb and we take our ques from things like film, TV and yes, videogames.
When a marginalized group gets included in fiction, they start to get normalised in a way that they really aren't in reality. This doesn't just apply to LGBT+ people, but every non-majority group. Why do you think there's such a big outcry about including non-cis-straight-caucasian people?
-
You do realise that if we never asked, we wouldn't receive? And if we don't get normalised, we will keep being ostracised?
-
I much prefer original content. They have more creative freedom, they can actually add cosmetics, and they have much more interesting lore.

Equality happens by disregarding race, gender, religion, views, etc of a person, and judging them solely on their actions and words. When you take away physical characteristics and simply accept a person based on how they act, then you are being equal.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1975033#Comment_1975033
This is 100% about politics considering the current political climate.
There is no reason to include any character simply because they are some special section of people. That is simply virtue signalling and should never happen. If the character's background and story is an outgrowth of whatever gender, race, etc they are, then that is just fine imo. It should never be the focus though, it should simply be a part of their lore as a whole.
I don't care if a character is black, white, pink, multi-sexual, lives in a box, or has twelve sets of genitals. All I care about is a good background, good power, and that they give a horror vibe. As soon as you say "We need more of this minority", it's hate speech because you are discounting all the other people who aren't that minority. Bigotry comes in many forms, but the worst is bigotry in the form of Inclusion and this fake Equality that people try to shove into everything.
That's a nice fantasy, but it isn't reality, because in order to reach that point you have to normalise, and things don't get normalised without being thrown around a lot til no-one cares any more.
-
Actually, the game used to sort of have that. There were pink offerrings called "splinters" that allowed people to play as a perkless, addonless version of a DLC killer when burned, isnread of whatever killer had the offerring in their inventory. They were removed for a bunch of reasons, mostly lisence issues I think.
-
The only saving grace is that it's free. If they ever sell that outfit in the store, it's gonna be a riot.
-
I absolutely hate Haddonfield. It is the only map in the game that makes me glad that Bloodlust 3 exists, because there's loops when you genuinely need it (house of pain with both open god windows, anyone?).

@Mringasa said:
The only place sexuality or gender belong is in the bedroom between consenting adults.
Trying to throw it in everyone's face is a trash move designed to virtue signal or proclaim "I am cool so you should listen to me."
This is a horror game, not a representation game. I have 0 issues with the background of a character being gay, straight, bi, or apache helicopter. That is their story, and should be treated as such. Not as some massive victory for some ridiculous political agenda. The only people who give a damn about representation are a bunch of weirdos on Twitter and some politicians who use it purely for political and monetary gain.
If people would stop caring about inclusion, and simply accept the fact that everyone is different and equal, things would be a lot better in the world. Instead we get Cancel Culture, hate mobs, and hypocritical mouthpieces spouting hate speech and calling it equality.
Keep your damn politics out of the game and accept each character for who they are. Someone reasonably unique and interesting who might have a neat story that you can relate to, or maybe a story that just piques your interest.
Equality doesn't happen by telling people to shut up. It happens by throwing things that are different in their bigoted faces until it becomes normal and no-one can be bothered throwing it around any more.
Don't believe me? Look at the womans rights movements. Look at racial and religious equality. And yes, look at LGBT equality and inclusion. And... Wow, would you believe it, all of those are still going on, and still being fought for, because not including diversity reinforces the current "norm".
Personally, I'd like a few LGBT+ characters. So would much of the community. There's not really a reason not to include any, after all, and yet plenty of reasons for. So what's the problem with inclusion?

Actually, I go against sweaty SWF's as my norm in over half my trials. So either this build summons potatoes, or...

Is make your choice that good?
It works as the opposit of PGTW. Instead of buying you time to chase, it cuts down the chase itself and forces someone else, somewhere else, off a gen. And after the first down it lets you quickly build up 3 stacks of Devour, which is a hard game stall, and if/when they get rid of Devour you can default back to MYC.
Honestly, MYC kind of ties the build together, especially on either a stealth killer or a high-mobility killer like Blight, Spirit, Nurse or Billy.
-
@RepostRiposte said:
Gotta be honest...
Ruin/Undying is still way better than Devour/Undying even after the nerf
At least in my book consistency/gen regression will always trump some instadowns.
Also I don't see why MYC is necessary considering you're already investing half of your build into Devour. If that doesn't work out I'd rather have something like Pop so the build doesn't completely collapse under me.
MYC lets you quickly build up the first stacks and acts as a contingency for if/when they break both totems.

Visually it's amazing. Gameplay-wise it's... Let's just say I dislike both the safety of the pallets and the strength of the breakable walls.
But visually it really is a beautiful map.

Cool it's the same 2 chums from the other day backing each other up again, the ones always ranting about survivor being unfair.
Perhaps the player in question just had a bad connection. I haven't seen it miss direct attacks 3 times in a row like that before, though you do get a fair few misses that should of hit when you play PH. If you don't then good for you.
Can you provide some evidence? At all? You are the only one that's been having all of these robbed POTD's, I'm fairly certain the burden is on you. Even those of us who have also experienced robs are... Suspicious.

@[Deleted User] said:

No he definitely handed over a good chunk of control to the survivor in certain situations. Also the "good PH will hit most of their POTD" is bs. I hit 3 dead on yesterday and none of them counted, latency I guess but it's sad to see that the biggest frustration with POTD hasn't been addressed. The hitbox is so thin and any bit of latency throws it off completely. I felt completely cheated when I saw the survivor clearly inside the zone.
I've got somewhere in the relam of 15-20 hours on PH, not much I know, but I think I've been robbed a grand total of once. I also do not have the best connection thanks to the servers not being near me (yay AU).
So I guess my point is that either you are playing with much higher than 70 ping, you are so unlucky if you bought a winning lottery ticket you would somehow end up owing that amount, or you're misjudging your POTD quite heavily.

Ah there we go the usual toxic "i dont agree therefore git gud" line.
You're so disingenuous, you're acting like latency has never affected a killers power before.....even though everyone has experienced Plague's vomit not infecting, myers stalk being deducted, doctors shocks not stopping survivors. Why are you pretending PH is the only killer whose power is NOT affected by latency?
Damn I'm trying to hold back my language but you really are a toxic little person. I saw the beam actually connect with them. It actually connected. You didn't see anything yet here you are dictating to me exactly what happened. Seriously take a hike if you're going to be one of those people. EVERYONE has seen PH's power affected by latency at some point so shut up with your blatant lies.
And based on this tirade I think it may be the latter.

But there was chases and enough, it was a small map and it was spirit, if i can get out of a chase and hide especially injured i will.
I dont want to extend my chase with them any longer then it needs to be.
Were there? If the killer was mad enough to complain about stealth, and you went out of your way to justify stealth, then it seems like maybe there weren't a lot of chases to be had.
