This is untrue. The saloon and the buildings along the street are insanely strong, there's several god pallets, two almost free gens (at minimum, there can easily be more), and the survivors can always crouch in a bush and waste even more of the killers time.
-
That seems like the problem was the fact that everyone was stealthing around, which is actually kind of completely ridiculous on DbD. Honestly, it's not unlike getting tunneled. Not saying you were doing anything wrong, but pointing out that that killer had a miserable experience and was taking it out in chat.

Silent slugs, breathing sounds, footsteps. Should I go on?
You are confusing "bugs" with "ridiculous design features".

Is this still the case for some people? Because for me, this was fixed months ago. The only soundbug I had recently was Elodie either being way too loud in screams or not screaming at all.
I just had that in a trial an hour ago. Got a lot of salt in the endgame chat, too, because the Dwight that bled out thought I was BMing (he was 3 feet away in some bushes when I alt tabbed out).
I felt bad, but what the hell can you do? Advantages can backfire.
-
I don't like opponents being rewarded for failure. It always just feels unfair - they didn't pressure gens or have good chases, but here - have some NOED, Bloodwarden, Remember Me and Infectious Fright.
Because IF is also a really good endgame perk, it just rarely gets the acknowledgement because it's also good at every other part of the game.
-
The info is back in one spot and unlike most people I'm not allergic to change.
Although I would like better character icons, the basic pics are a little... Unfantastic?
-
A relatively balanced killer. A lot stronger than people give him credit for because people like easy power (a similar problem facing Plague), and also he's getting a bit of a buff soon.
Just don't forget that STBFL is actually not that great on him, since any good team will force you to shred (which you totally can do, which is why he's actually pretty strong).

And sound has been broken for how long?
With the exception of survivors being silent on the ground, sound isn't broken. Not that I think making footsteps almost impossible to hear was a good decision, but neither was making half the pallets in the reworks almsot worthless.
-
Didn't we literally just have a midchapter that made survivor so unplayable the que times actually swapped?

The fact that people are making videos to explain how good he is now reminds me of early Legion.
When you need to make video explanations of why something doesn’t suck it’s usually a bad sign.
The Doctor changed for example were immediate and apparent and needed no explanation.
Blight, Spirit, Hag, Deathslinger, Pyramid Head, reworked Nurse, reworked Bubba, reworked Doctor...
The community always says new things are bad and creators always make showcase videos of why the community is... There's no polite way to say it, so I just won't.
And yes, Doctor had a solid couple of weeks of people calling him slightly better trash.

Lilly Boomis.
She wears a white shroud with a black mask and has the power to make her TR go all over the map.
-
The problem with Bloodlust is that it's integral to the design of a lot of loops, specifically Haddonfield. And if a killer Bloodlust you anywhere else you won the chase so who cares, be ausw it takes bloody ages to bloodlust someone.
It's not the same with Dead Hard. In a game where killers rely on survivors mistakes, it is literally designed to undo a mistake.
A better comparison might be Bloodlust and Holding W, however once again we enter into the region of it not really being a great comparison thanks to the fact that Hold W is a viable strat and easily the one I encounter the most.
-
Facecamping Bubba/Billy/Huntress/Plague? Any facecamping killer that can just absolutely punish you for even daring to think about saving like they can?
No, that's just a yikes. If you're feeling lucky then go for it I guess, but most teammates will not only totally understand if you leave, but will quietly get annoyed at you for trying, failing and giving the killer another kill and thus rewarding their behaviour.

I like this idea. Question is would the perk only be one time use or multiple uses?
Honestly, I don't know. It's hard to tell how strong an effect that would be, given that it has a downside (mending).
-
The negative effect should be removed. Maybe it should also be changed to 2 protection hits, but make it give the endurance effect for a minute after taking the second hit instead of somewhere down the line taking 3 hits to down someone.

Yea the only time that grabs are stolen from killer are when survivors are on gens. It's insanely rare to see a grab through window or pallet being robbed from the killer. In fact of all my hours of viewing and playing the game never have I seen it. If you cant hit a survivor who just got off a gen literally less than a foot from you before they can make anywhere safe, that's your problem not the games.
I'm not entirely sure how much you understand latency, play killer or watch content creators, but suffice it to say that all forms of grabbing get robbed equally.
-
I'm sorry you had to deal with that, but there's nothing that can be done. None of that was against the rules, however that is an example of extreme toxicity.
Some people just want to bully. They WANT to make someone miserable. And there's really nothing that will ever be done about it. The best you can do is remember that these are ######### disgusting people who get their kicks by harassing others - clearly, their lives are messed the ######### up be ausw they have to try and make people feel worse than them. That, or they were raised by bullies, which is almost as bad.

Never mind, you are just one of those people that would abuse it.

Not everyone shares your baggage and deep-rooted social trauma, FYI.
So you think it's perfectly fine that that is how the significant majority of interactions will go?
-
It's a very strong effect that punishes killers for playing nice, so it needs to have an activation condition. However, the current condition is so... Specific.
-
Ultra Toxic Ghostface. Bind his crouch button to a macro and play like nothing is out of the ordinary.
-
So you want to blanket nerf killer?

I was doing a hex totem and he came and boxed me in.
When the killer hits you, you lose collision and can run through them to get away. There are killers whose abilities allow them to down you, namely Plague, Trapper, Billy and Bubba, but that is all.
-
When they had the no-bloodlust weekend a lot of loops, particularly on Haddonfield but also others Vs 110 killers, became actual infinites due to the chase mechanics and window blocking getting reset.
DbD needs bloodlust right now, at least until it's not a bandaid to fix bad maps.
-
Old Ruin was a strong early game perk. New Ruin is such an oppressive late-game perk that it got a seperate perk nerfed just because it enabled Ruin to stay up potentially for the entire length of the trial.
-
@Yamaoka said:
Come back when you lose all 5 gens in 3 minutes.
2 minutes 3 gens seems fairly normal to me.
Didn't the Devs say they balanced the game around the killer losing 2-3 gens in the first couple of minutes?
Either way, I do agree it's pretty normal and in no way indicating how unbeatable the team is.
-
Surely Sole Survivor would go better with Left Behind...?
-
I have to say that I love the inclusion of non-binary characters down the bottom despite practically zero games having non-binary characters.
It shows a nice bit of hope for the future that I appreciate.
-
I'm a Scream fan. Not the same character, but close enough. I'm just waiting on Pridney Sescott to be added as a paragraph survivor.
Not Sidney Prescott.
We don't talk about Sidney Prescott.
-
Snowballing? Great, that's how trials should be won or lost. 3-4 person slugging with IF on Nurse? Third seal and Knockout? Not so much, there needs to be a defence to having most of the team on the ground for extended periods that isn't a perk.
-
@Bardon said:
Because making things easier for Survivors across the board is the balanced change we needed...
Umm... What exactly do smooth skillchecks have to do with game balance?
-
No, that's just bad. DbD has enough grind without adding THAT into the mix. If something is too strong, it should get nerfed, and it should get nerfed in a timely fashion.
-
Most people would not, not. That's why I don't think gen times should be increased: it will just buff miserable killers.
The Devs should focus on chases being more dynamic and certain playstyles being countered by passive in-game bonuses/abilities, not going "have this set of perks to counter this, this set of perks to counter that, this set of perks to..."
Changing gen speeds would just make the game unplayable because suddenly hardcore facecamping and tunneling would be viable.
-
Should we talk about the latest batch of reworked maps, the Undying nerf, the upcoming Freddy nerf, etc.?
No? Not fitting your narrative? Pity.
-
Yeah, it should be a BP or shards reward. Get a thumbs up, get 15k BP. Or get 5k per thumbs up. Something like that, that encourages people to play in a way that is enjoyable for everyone.
-
Let me tell you to replicate it: Go look up a video where someone is berating you and threatening extreme harm and you and your family, then play it whenever you think you're close to the killer/survivor.
You now have an in-game mic.
Edit: And make sure the video is full of racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, general religious xenophobia, and for good measure a few threats of non-consensual intercourse.
-
You may as well ask why bullying exists in general.
-
No-one with any experience cares about kill rates, because they know just how badly it gets inflated.
DbD is still unbalanced and still unfair, and not because killers are OP. It's because survivors don't even have to properly engage with them. Sure, in solo que you won't see this top much, but go play killer at red ranks in the evening and you'll quickly learn just how fast gens can get done, and how much you absolutely despise second chance perks.
-
Honestly? There's an absolute shiteload of good perks, even more than killer. There's Balanced Landing, Head On, Lithe, Botany Knowledge, Inner Strength, Detectives Hunch, We'll Make It, We're Gonna Live Forever, Kindred, Bond, Aftercare, Empathy, Alert, Spine Chill, Deja Vu, Open Handed, Desperate Measures, Built To Last, Fixated, Urban Evasion, Quick and Quiet, Self Care, For The People, Off The Record, Prove Thyself...
None of these perks are that situational, you get between decent and absolutely amazing value out of them in almost every trial, but they aren't perks you get mindless, massively overt value from (except maybe the exhaustion ones) so they get sidelined.
Even builds like Plunderers/Appraisal are ridiculous. It's practically a key every trial. Trust me, I like giving people presents with Ace In The Hope as well. I have had so many trials end in key escapes for either me or my team it's not funny. I think Plunderers/Appraisal with a hatch offerring might be the most underrated build in DbD.

You want proof, look at the perk stats. The one thing they are actually good for us showing how commonly certain perks are run.

Survivor don't Spam secound chances, the only thing witch should be baiskit anyway is the Nerfed Ds.
Oh no? Then why are half the perks in all my trials, survivor ESPECIALLY, DS/UB/DH/BT/Adrenaline?
-
Killers will stop spamming slowdown when survivors stop spamming second chances.
In other words, not til both are needed to oblivion.
-
1) watch any unruled tournament and tell me that survivors are underpowered. Solo que, maybe, but not survivors.
2) they aren't getting nerfed at the same time.
3) the Devs worship their stats to the point of insanity whilst not taking into account the data behind the data.
-
You can't unrelease a game back into beta after its official release.
Edit: also they can't stop working on DLC or cosmetics because money is fantastic and the big bosses want it.
-
It wouldn't be thematic, so right there explains why it's never going to happen (the Devs care a lot about staying on-theme), but also a big part of his counterplay is knowing how to run and not get stalked/making his stalk take as long as possible. Take that away and he becomes a lot less fun to go against and becomes one of the unfair killers.
Personally I'd rather see a buff to T1 and T3 that justifies stalking more/justifies not stalking at all.
-
It activates if the killer literally goes AFK, and the whole "JuSt Do BoNeS" nonsense is literally stronger than the effect of the perk itself, which is even less fair. That is in no way okay.
I will never be in love with endgame perks, but it needs to be changed to an earnable powerspike instead of a powerspike that only hardcore SWF teams or extremely lucky solo's can prevent.
-
One random tip for playing killer: You will end up chasing people that you literally cannot track. Their scratchmarks will be insane and misleading, their blood will be either covered by foliage (because when I bleed on grass it all sinks to the dirt :) ), or hidden on dark soil, their Iron Will will remove all moans of pain or even breathing, and they will have tonnes of LoS blockers. And to top it all off, the Devs reworked chase music so that it covers footsteps in all but the most loud-feet maps.
You cannot do anything about this. Get used to it. It is pain and it is not fair, but it happens. You will get used to guessing their pathing with time, but trust me when I say it never fully goes away.
-
A lot of survivors will stop running DS because they can no longer abuse it. Some will continue trying to abuse it only to realise they are now playing into the killers hands. The rest will continue to run it because they were running it to punish tunneling, not to get free game progress and map pressure.
-
The DS changes should be coming with the upcoming chapter, so we will be (hopefully) seeing them in a PTB in a few weeks, then in the live game in a month and a half or so.
-
Because AU servers have literally gotten so anti-killer that I'm escaping more than I die. Nearly every team I get, as survivor or killer, is the crème de la crème of solo's.
Seriously, my ques are instant and my teammates are fantastic, what more reason do I need? I almost don't want the desync issues fixed because it will return to normal.
Almost.
