Surely the worst part about the game design is the fact that you can't hear the chainsaw through a wooden floor?
-
Back when the greenhouse in The Asylum was bugged I got reported for walking through it.

Assuming survivors are near unsafe loops.
Not every killer needs to make jungle gyms into free hit zones.
-
Yeah, what's wrong with being an arsehole? All I'm trying to do is insult them in the only way I can, what's wrong with that?
-
Wraiths power is his amazing mobility and stealth potential. Also, he has a chase power, his decloaking lunge wrecks unsafe loops.
-
Okay. Go ruin people's trials, then.
We all have killers we don't like to play agasint. That's no reason to screw over your teammates, not unless you have an amazing reason, like genuine mental health concerns stemming from irl association.

I really don't see anyway to abuse Borrowed Time, unless you're talking about survivors making unsafe saves with Borrowed Time because they have Borrowed Time.
Deliberately making unsafe saves then the unhooked survivor bodyblocks with 3-4 layers of protection because they know they can get away with it despite the killer trying to go for the unhooker.

Abused? DS and BT, with a little dose of Soul Guard. The rest just get used, which makes it even worse.

They are not calling people who disagree with them homophobes but those that are explicitly making homophobic statements. Saying LGBTQ+ doesn’t fit while being perfectly fine with anything heterosexual is in fact something homophobic (or LGBTQ+phobic, not sure about the actual namings of those)
Neither am I, and I feel like that's something I should know...
Edit: eh, point gets across either way.

I mean, go play Doctor I guess. He's strong, but he isn't OP. Add-ons might be, though

Please stop calling people who don't agree with you a homophobes
What reasons are there for disagreeing when the genre is heavily influenced by sexuality and several characters lore makes direct references to heterosexual relationships?
-
A reward calender would be nice.
For once, I don't really have much else to say. What do people do when the make short comments? Do they just post them?
Am I rambling?
Okay, I'll shut up.
-
No, nothing in either of the new character's lore suggests they are LGBT+.

Imagine suffering through life with the constant desire to be validated by everything and everyone around you.
I don't even care if a character is gay or anything else but, the constant demand for representation is sad and pathetic.
You dont need a video game character or a movie star to be confident in yourself, grow up.
Yet another who doesn't understand why people want representation.

Honestly I've given up on trying to come up with balance ideas. I just hope that, whatever they do, they don't get rid of our only phasewalker.

Kindred. It's just so good.

Instadowns perks have activation requirements, and can be avoided by playing well. Dead Hard requires you to put in all of the effort of pushing a button to recover from a mistake that should have spelled the end of the chase.
On top of that, it is far, far more valuable for a survivor to extend a chase than it is for a killer to end one quickly.

Gen rushing does occur against decent survivors. I don't think anyone disagrees that gen speeds are a problem when the logic follows that tunneling is then less likely to occur and slugging aswell.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1993676#Comment_1993676
You my good friend don't understand what people are talking about when people say "tunneling gens". You don't leave a gen at 33% and leave it, why should a killer leave you at 33% and go for others. Since gens are done efficiently in good games, killers tunnel due to them tunneling gens.
End game builds focus on the suprise power spike, noed is no exception. It needs the suprise factor and give incentive to do a totem before leaving. Just search for the totems before attempting the exit gate. It'll take you 30s at most if you've been perceptive all game.
You don't understand the concept of "tunneling". Trying to apply it to anything other than the act of BMing a survivor is disingenuous and designed specifically to justify playing extremely lazily when alternative, significantly better playstyles exist that aren't you being a BMing killer.
Tunneling is the worst thing that can happen to a survivor. How is it so hard to understand? You are literally denying 4 people of a trial because you want to be lazy.
-
Anything with high walls hard counters him. Don't get me wrong, if you're in the open or you're bat a junk tile you're dead, but more than half the maps are high-wall tiles, from.maze tiles to killer shak to main buildings to even generic buildings in some maps.
-
Gen rushing isn't a thing except in very extreme circumstances.
NOED doesn't punish genrushing, actual genrushing means the survivors woildnt go back for their teammate even without NOED. The perk exists to punish solo/casual survivors for trying to play the game.
Edit: Seriously, stop trying to claim that survivors doing their objective is evil. There is no such thing as "tunneling" gens. That's just BS that certain people (who are super fun at parties) came up with to justify playing cruelly in every single trial.
-
It's becaus new content gets people way more hyped than modified existing content. Personally I love the Wraith and Blight changes, but... I mean, what can I say, The Trickster just steals the show.

"nobody will be inspired to commit atrocities because they saw it in a piece of fiction" bro you very obviously know nothing about true crime lmao.
I'm not sure what point you are trying to make, but suffice it to say you really should do some research on the subject of why people commit atrocities, and why other people blame it on violent media. Specifically videogames, but generally speaking the same rules apply to pretty much everything.
-
No, but they are some of the strongest perks, so I guess you may as well use them.
-
There will always be characters that mirror real life. But it doesn't work the other way around, no-one will be inspired to commit atrocities because they saw it in a piece of fiction. There are people that will see characters they resonate with and try to imitate them, but truth be told they would act the same no matter what. If there are no fictional characters, they would latch on to real, horrible people that for with their disgusting self-image. To put it simply, they would commit the actions they commit regardless of whether or not Trickster exists.
I'm sorry you had to go through such hardships. Personally, people like The Legion tormented me and made my life a living hell. Such despicable psycho's are the reason I didn't come out until quite recently. I was hurt a lot and genuinely feared for my life every day and tried to convince myself I wasn't who I really was. But The Legion is one of my favourite killers, because I know that the characters aren't going to inspire more cruelty, they are a reflection of the cruelty that exists in real life.
I hope that this message translates well, should you read it.

Ok...
Too late. Brain is shutting off, and I’m putting Blight back in the bin.
That's fair. He has pretty much the same bad maps as Nurse, in case you were wondering.
-
Die horribly, screaming in pain and suffering.
Okay it's not that bad, bit it's close. Lery's is one of his worst maps so you need to be on-poont with going through doors. But mostly you have to chase as a basic killer and us eyiur powee for mobility, because good survivors will just turn corners.
Some pallets are playabke, like the ones in the showers and operating rooms if you are close enough.

There's a Mass Effect remaster that the internet is blowing up over and you think nobody remembers the series?
Fair point about LGBT relationships being damn rare at the time, but still.
No-one I ever talk to rembers it aside from vaguely recognising the name, it seems almost purely in the realm of games journalism these days and it makes me sad...

No, but I think you just proved their point.
See, "politics" is just a code word for "minorities" (most often LGBT). Mass Effect has a ######### ton of politics in it, from your own character's promotion being a political maneuver to the literal political council you answer to and work for. You make political choices all the time. The game is filled to the brim with politics and people love it.
I just wanted to overtly point out that it had LGBT+ characters befoee it was cool.

Oh, come off it. Mass Effect is ridiculously political for reasons that have nothing to do with anyone's sexual orientation.
Yeah, but also LGBT+ thread and I wanted to call it out because no-one seems to remember the franchise even exists, let alone had LGBT+ characters in a time it was very uncommon...

Wait, did you just call out Mass Effect, the franchise that's so progressive it let you have a homosexual relationship in 2007 and made zero deal about it?

I'm not offended by it. I really do not care or want sexuality to be a part of a game I play. I play a game for the game, not to roleplay the character I'm playing as being myself, and only playing x character because they're x gender. In saying that I also don't care if a character is gay, straight, or an alien that knocks itself up, but I still don't think it belongs in a video game. It's the equivalent of letting me know a character is a Republican to me.
First, it's a slasher game and like it or not sexuality has been a big part of the slasher genre since forever.
Second, there are heterosexual relationships.
Third, if we're being perfectly honest being LGBT+ is a much bigger part of someone's identity than being a cis striaght person. It's more about repping the people than it is specific preferences.

Even if a killer is weak good killer fundamentals will carry you against even good solos
Good fundamentals carried me as I learned just about every 115 killer. I don't think it's possible to overstate just how useful they are.
Hells, even on 110 killers they're decent. No-one expects Huntress or Deathslinger to suddenly mindgame like an m1 killer. Same with Trickster.

This is a game where sexual orientation is barely mentioned and I can't think of any relationship aside from that between Frank and Julie. For all we know every (non-licensed) survivor could be gay, that's completely up to the player to decide. Unless the sexual orientation of a character is functional to ther lore/persona, it could feel forced and out of place.
Besides, you don't fight homophobia by shoving homosexualy down the throat of homophobes. If anything that would push them even more away.
Of the top of my head, Nurse had a husband, David had a girlfriend, Dwight (Edit: Nope, it was Felix, knew something felt off) had a girlfriend, and of courses Frank and Julie.
Or to put it another wayz there have been striaght relationships in the lore for quite some time, and the Devs have been working hard to include all other forms of diversity, so why no LGBT+?
(And yeah, that's kind of the point. Adapt to diversity, or leave.)

It's different? No. Homo sapiens. In short, homo sapiens.
There are no subspecies of modern humans in the first place. Everything but Homo sapiens was wiped out.
Can you please stop changing the entire reply? It's getting confusing.

Non-time-based-Secondary-mode, like Old Doctor, Pig, Wraith and... Well, what do you know, The Trickster!
-
I loooovvvve him, he's so different but also he plays kind of like Plague and I miss being able to play her... I just wish his secondary ability didn't decay, but design, story and gameplay I give a really big thumbs up, he's just super fun!

Frankly speaking, referring to "socially sensitive" in the element of "game" is actually one of the right ways. Either "forced" it or. Or if you try to match the settings of the original game by force. Because the game's original setting collapses, it can eventually lead to the game's original meaning fading out.
Also, if you want to mention something socially sensitive,
You just have to make a game based on that.
The only reason inclusion is "socially sensitive" is because people don't want it, which makes no real sense outside of closeted phobia.
-
When you get to a tile with high walls, he becomes quite weak. I think that's where you're supposed to have his secondary power come into play but you can't save the damn thing for those moments so he kind of just overall sucks in maze tiles.
However, anywhere else he is a monster. That missile barrage, combined with decent aim, is just nuts. You can strip someone's health so quick it's actually amazing
-
I played a couple of games, didn't get hit with DS. But it's a PTB and people tend to be way more chill.

I think it will be meta for SWF genrush squads that all run it and all get the benefit. For solo players it seams kinda neat, but not that strong (which is a good thing because balance-wise you don't want to speed gens up as a general rule). Basically, why speed one gen up a little bit when you can run a perk that slows the killers objective down significantly more?
