Future fog whisperer? Isn't he current promoting preying on solo que whilst still complaining about SWF and making wild assumptions?
And even if the event ends up being largely the same, that's great. The 4th year anniversary was fun and it nets everyone an absolute ton of BP, and they can focus on actually fixing the game so that it runs relatively smoothly on anything less than the best hardware.
-
People aren't toxic for equipping them, no, but they really aren't good for the games health. Dead Hard is a free, repeatable second chance in a game where mistakes are crucial. NOED is a free-kill perk and nothing else, especially since its "counterplay" of cleansing all 5 totems is far stronger for the killer even if they actually have NOED equipped.
-
Probably the simplicity and ease of use. Bubba is the absolute easiest killer in the game to reliably 4k with with the least amount of practice, which isn't necessarily a bad thing but at the same time it's not fun to be forced to hold W and prethrow pallets.
-
The event looks like it's going to be fine, I don't see why people keep freaking out and complaining. Sure, the code for the cakes was worrying, but this is a buggy AF game.
If anything, it's the complete lack of other events that's a real issue. One of the easiest and most reliable ways of facilitating developer-consumer relations is by throwing virtual currency and basic menu-theme celebrations around. Bloodhunts and pretty colours would go a long way to calming the community down.
-
Unfortunately, most of it is laziness. Nemesis, for example, is a very strong chase killer that has counterplay, can't zone for free, and is very, very difficult to play. However, because you're always in danger while being within 5-6m of him while not at a maze tile or building, people automatically pretend he has no counteprlay even though that's exactly what Huntress is like but at a much greater range.
Survivors have been getting steadily more entitled as the game goes on. It takes a lot of skill and effort to play some of these killers but no-one cares about that, because the survivors skill and effort should apparently always mega-trump the killers. It doesn't matter that only a very good Doctor or Deathslinger can catch very doog survivors, no, apparently that's perfectly okay even though the majority of killers can't actually play these killers very well (the precise and perfectly legitimate reason we give for survivors trumping other killers). Or they could just keep predropping pallets and holding W, something I've been dealing with since long before Slinger arrived so the blame clearly isn't with him.
Nemesis has especially been pissing me off becuase he really does have counterplay, exactly the same as Huntress and Billy: dodge. Specifically, he takes a while to charge and so while looping you can avoid his attack or bait it, similarly to Pyramid Head but far more reliably. In fact, the only reason PH is an issue is because of his range being able to shut down loops pretty much no matter what.
Edit: and also PH is pretty easy because of his m2-into-m1 that his range gives him.
-
No, his counterplay now is based around his limited range. If he could hit people from 8+ metres away he would be just another Pyramid Head.
-
They heavily buffed Coldwind, but those loops aren't infinites. Which isn't to say they're fair.
But the game also isn't dying, it's just the least interactive it's been because survivors realised they don't need to loop killers, using the genuinely unloopable killers as an excuse. It's unfortunate that even Nemesis has been dragged into it, a killer who has more counterplay than Huntress.
-
And of course it's Sluzzy, complaining about a killer whose counterplay is literally just not use unsafe pallets.
I never see anyone screaming for a Pig nerf, why does everyone do the same for Wraith? He's just as meh to face as he's always been.
-
Being in control and forcing survivors to play better than me in order to win.
Of course, that's not a thing any more, now everyone just slams gens.
-
This one time a SWF duo sandbagged me an another solo right at the beginning of the trial (dropped a jungle gym pallet and fast vaulted a few times each to draw the killer to us 10 seconds into the trial), but unfortunately for them I had Bond, Lucky Break and am a vindictive #########.
TLDR, one of them got slugged right next to me and DC'd as I t-bagged her from the thin layer of corn I was hiding behind, and the other solo deliberately farmed the crap out of DC-girls friend after she got hooked in the basement. Like, all 3 hooks. She was even trying to suicide.
That killer was so confused as to how a full rank 1 team could be that ######### bad. Then we explained what happened.
That is the most petty thing I have ever seen in this game.
-
I throw knives until they go down, with no mindgames or hesitation. 30 seconds is an average chase time around a Long Wall Jungle Gym.
He's so ######### boring. That's literally it, you just learn his timings and get accurate and every time you turn a corner it's another knife or two, but that's it. There's no variance, that's his chase.

@Venzhas This wasn’t a matter of caring about opinions. Its about educating myself.

@MadLordJack Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and defining what it means to be trans. I really appreciate and honor your journey although, with you permission and comfortability of course, I’d love to hear more about your journey.
I never knew it was more of a hormone thing than a genitalia thing. I know that some members of the trans community don’t mind it, while others do & thats what makes it such a hiccup for me.
I guess because I was uneducated and grew up during a generation where the world was so ignorant to what exactly trans women and men actually go through and weren’t willing to allow them to speak up for themselves, it kind of blinded me. I’m so happy this generation is so vocal and accepting. And despite what the LGBTQIA+ have gone through, its amazing how open and welcoming the community is to people. Again, thank you so much 💜 I really appreciate your post.
I'm actually from a rural town in a sparsely populated country that, despite a progressive government, doesn't have particularly progressive citizens outside of its biggest cities. I know exactly what it's like to not know. I actually had the opportunity to go on hormone blockers before puberty, but there was just no real education there and asking questions was... Ahem, "frowned upon".
Plus, I'm really lucky that I prefer girls, because queer woman are really accepting.
Although being trans comes with a lot of downsides, most of which other women will totally recognise and that have little to do with social acceptance. The most annoying things for me are having to shave every day with suddenly very sensitive skin, sudden (admittedly light) acne, requiring a bra, and remembering to wear seatbelts properly. Which as I have learnt, is very, very important. Like, that is so ######### important. I wish ladies talked about that more often because holy crap is that annoying. Also, like, just sensitive everything. My skin is so soft now.
Edit: any specific details you want to know? I can't speak for all trans people, or even for all trans women, but I can share my specific experiences.

Why caring about other's opinions ? Just be who you want and love who you want
Because as nice a sentiment as that is, those other people with opinions are often the ones in power.
-
Yep, he needs a solid rework-buff. Used to be one of the fairest killers in the game, now his backrevs are luck-based, his hitboxes are insane, his add-ons mostly suck, and his overheat is oppressive.
-
Being trans is... Complicated. For the most part, we were just born or developed wrong, it's honestly a bit hard to tell which is which but they lead to the same conclusion: We aren't the gender we should be. Which comes with a lot of problems, depending on when you come out.
But, it's not really a matter of choosing, we just... Are. I pretended to be a guy for over a decade, and even though that was my biology it wasn't me. I actually never developed any ability to handle testosterone, so anger management was a pretty huge deal. The whole time I tried to suppress my transness and live normally, but I knew it was BS of the highest order, so I came out. And then we get to the tricky part of being biologically trans.
Short version? It's in the hormones, not the genetalia. Hormone Replacement Therapy is what changes your gender, not surgery. Many trans people need surgery to feel comfortable with themselves, but it's not what changes your biological gender. Most trans people seek to change their biological gender (body) to better match their identity, but the degree of change is entirely up to the person. I don't really have any plans myself, surgery is expensive and I'm not wealthy.
And something else I want to mention is the WHO making it insanely ######### hard for people to transition. I got lucky, my gp has a trans daughter and didn't put me through all of that horrible, awful psychological testing and the year-or-years-long waiting list just to be allowed to recieve HRT. But that's what happens to most trans people. They officially give up because they're treated so poorly by people that are supposed to help them.
I don't want to leave it like that, that's not a very happy note, so I'll say this: we are who we are, and we can't change that. But thankfully society is beginning to accept us, and even though some of us are really different it's becoming easier and easier to simply exist. Also, yay hormones. Being able to change your biological gender is the best.
Edit: Also, a lot of us tend to struggle with sexuality as well, especially those of us that choose to not get surgery. Thankfully, society is also becoming more accepting on that front, too.
Edit edit: also, I am super open and actually had to remove some details about my specific biology because I didn't want to upset anyone. You can totally ask anything, so long as you have an open mind.

Sorry that I am telling the truth. If you think that you need Ruin/PGTW/Corrupt Intervention on every Killer, this is a you-problem.
Like, I use exactly 4 Perks on all of my Survivors. On my Killers, I use 14 different Perks.
That's strange, usually it's the opposite because survivors have so many genuinely good perks. Just to list a few, there's We'll Make It, Botany Knowledge, Botany/Self Care, Inner Strength, WGLF, Unbreakable, Soul Guard, Iron Will, Lucky Break, Built To Last, Bond, Kindred, OoO, BT, DS, Aftercare, Q&Q, Prove Thyself, and that's just the perks in my normal rotation. Didn't even mention Exhaustion perks or Adrenaline, because I don't use them. Also haven't unlocked the new perks yet.
As opposed to killer, where you have 3 minutes to stop the gens getting done and automatically lose 3 in 90 seconds without counterplay, so slowdown and info are mandatory. Ruin, Ruin/Undying, Discordance, Infectious Fright, Surge, Surveillance, BBQ, Tinkerer, and Lethal Pursuer. Maybe, maybe Corrupt Intervention/Lethal Pursuer.
-
Survivor used to be 20-30 minutes, then it spiked to 40+ minutes, then it dropped down to under 5 minutes about a week ago. Killer is always instant. AU, late evenings.
-
I dunno, probably Ruin.
-
Laugh, knowing how many people think this is the problem when in every other trial I watch them quickly spread out and end up on 4 different gens before the perk shuts off anyway.
-
She is a very good killer, arguably one of the best, somewhere alongside Oni, Slinger and Pyramid Head. She just also happens to be very, very difficult.
-
Nope, map was disabled before I could play on it.
-
Yeah, a multiple use second chance isn't exactly healthy for the game. Exhaustion perks are bad enough, but Dead Hard has no other use except as a big fat "Undo" button.
-
Losing to bad luck is the worst thing in this game. I'd much prefer to lose to someone who earned it than lose to guesswork.
-
Doctor is stronger, but neither are OP. Doc just happens to have a nice selection of add-ons and a stronger antiloop.
-
Yeah, it wouldn't be a problem if the game was fun for both sides, but the moment survivors start holding W and predropping there's nothing to be done but camp hooks in a 3-gen deadzone.
It's also a good idea to not kick every pallet, there's plenty that are reasonably playable, but unfortunately it's often the case that you don't have a choice.
-
I've had this bug every single time I've been slugged in the last few weeks. I don't know if it's playing audio for the killer and not for me, or if I'm silent for the killer as well, but it's really dumb either way.
-
Most of those killers aren't really that different on controller Vs M&K, its mostly just Nurse, Huntress and Deathslinger.
Which isn't to say it shouldn't be a thing, it's just not as impactful as console players might think it is. Which, if anything, is just another reason to add M&K support.

Yes, and they're usually 1v1 or 3v3 or 5v5. A game that has lopsided teams like DbD can't be balanced for competitive play as well as casual play like a game that has equal teams. Because unlike a game where both sides have the same number of people, DbD requires that one side by more appealing than the other in order to keep the matches going. In that respect, DbD will always be a bad choice for an esports game.
Anything is a competitive game if it's relatively balanced. eSports has little to do with it compared to mindset.

It needs to be both fun and balanced if you don't want to have to play against bots. And balance is more important than fun, because a balanced game with average gameplay is always more fun than an unbalanced mess with good gameplay.
Not really. Balanced games attract the competitive scene that people play games like DbD to avoid.
-
Actually, the game needs to be fun, not balanced. Killer isn't very fun right now, becuase you have no control and the gameplay is uninteractive, so survivor ques are insanely long.

It's easy to do all 5 bones in a solo queue game? Also what if you do all 5 bones and he doesn't even have noed?
You're not supposed to think that hard.
Okay, but seriously though, that is like my dream trial a killer. Everyone, waste time doing bones because of this perk that I totally have, I swear it won't backfire in any possible way!
-
I would rather they actually rework it into a decent perk instead of the enormous "get ######### one person, because I equipped a perk and that makes me better than you" that it currently is... But also, I'd rather it was just deleted than have it stay as-is. It is such a bad perk that exists purely for a free kill, that's so insanely unfair.
-
At least until the next chapter, but if they don't address at least the optimisation issues then I'm probably going to take an indefinite break.
-
It cuts the grind in half. For that alone it's one of the best perks, but it also has okay functionality as a tracking perk, too.
-
At least No Mither has its use as a perma-anti-slugging perk, one that goes especially well in a Sabo Squad (######### facing that again). MS does almost literally nothing but encourage basement camping.
-
Who cares of we get a new chapter if almost no-one can play the game without their console/pc dying?

I agree the outfit thing is an issue, but that could be fixed by paying attention to the names on the right.
That bandaid only works if you're not snowballing.
-
On the one hand sure, on the other, bullying killers should be discouraged.
-
Not until they make it a true anti-tunnel perk. I still get hit with it despite not tunneling, because among other things it doesn't go away when healed or when getting a flashlight/pallet save. Plus scummy teams like to dress in the same outfit.
-
Yeah, perk tiers are a tool to inflate grind, but this game has so many perks that the grind doesn't need inflated.
-
They're not, they just have no reason to impliment them. So far as they're concerned, and based on their behaviour and not their words, the grind is perfectly acceptable.
-
Decide who has the macro power andwho has the micro power. Right now, survivors have the micro power but in such a way that it translates into macro power via time wastage.
-
I think the event will go fine unless they don't fix the unstackable cakes, but the midchapter will be the nail in the coffin of optimization.
-
I dunno, it's nice that killers have a way out now...

I read it. You just did not add anything to it. How you would balance chases around "basekit exhaustion" When a lot of killers already suffer from hold W meta. That would now give them a free sprint burst to make it even more miserable playing those characters
If you read it then we wouldn't be having this conversation, because I clearly stated that chases would have to be rebalanced, which doesn't require specifics of such rebalancing to be included but should prevent comments such as yours. If you want details, I'm sure you have some good ideas that can fill in the blank.
-
Yep. Plus, Surveillance is bugged.
-
I'm boring, I just call them their killer name.
Except Legion, Plague and Deathslinger, I call them Suzie/Legon, Adiris/Plag and Slinger/Shooty McFace.
Edit: Also Bam Bam.
Edit edit: or Bonk Bonk.

Sprint Burst..Basekit ? RIP a lot of m1 killers. That would be the true death of killers like demo, Freddy, trapper, trickster, etc. If all 4 survivors just had sprint burst and created huge distance every time
You clearly didn't read the whole comment or you would have seen a little something about reworking chases around exhaustion.

Honestly I really don't think he does because of quickscoping and M&A. Just by merely existing in line of sight without shooting you force survivors to juke around and lose a ton of distance. Sure you can be really good and land some crazy shots but it's really not necessary as just the threat of him shooting is enough most of the time.
And having such a small terror radius with no lullaby like the other ranged killers allows him to walk up on survivors unless they're both out in the open and see him coming.
Now, to answer you... No, those survivors absolutely suck. Randomly tapping to the side doesn't slow you down and makes the shot significantly harder. Plus, quickscoping is extremely ######### hard and requires pinpoint accuracy with no aim.
