I've been having a good time. Every trial has a cake burned, so more BP, and I'm just enjoying getting the new crowns and having fun with survivor (everyone in AU is playing killer for BP and extra cakes)
-
It wouldn't change much, it already synergises well with Sloppy Butcher and you're rarely going to get to the 15-20% debuff range because, well, it's a perk designed to make people heal more and slow the game down that way.
So if anything it might be a nerf, because people might end up healing less and just powering through the debuff.

Yet every game if been in has been a tunneling camping killer. Not a single bully squad.
So either you're tunneling and camping everyone as the killer, or you're not playing killer and so don't have an accurate view on the general survivor behaviour.
Personally, I'm in the latter catagory, because every event so far has been filled with just the worst survivors. It's like playing in the evenings, but all day long.

Only a bad killer will let that happen. Killers have everything to be sure they get most of the points.
... right. Forgot who I was talking to. I'll go ahead and keep calling the killer bad because I dropped every pallet early while my teammates split up on gens and got the gates powered in 3 minutes. Lol, bad killer, should've played Nurse with range add-ons. Oh, wait, that still wouldn't have resulted in any points becuase the number of BP's a killer can get is directly determined by the number of hits, chases and broken objects.
-
That could just be a loading error (it probably is) but it could also be a hacker, there seems to be a new cheating program going around.
-
@Sluzzy said:
With 4 cakes, got camped and slugged and only made 7K because of slugging and camping. The devs have put too much power in killers. There is no way to get points unless the killer cooperates.
Cuts both ways. If survivors just predrop pallets, do gens and leave in 5 minutes the killer gets basically nothing.
-
These events usually consist of back-to-back bully squads that punish killers for trying to play nice, so it's understandable. It's just casual's getting caught in the middle, I suppose. Which is stupid because this is literally a casual, unbalanced game but what can you do?

I'll keep that in mind for when I get tunneled as the survivor.
Don't worry, I'll just let the killer tunnel me, heck, I'll point at the hook while I'm at it.
You do that. I'll keep in mind all the empty fields I'm forced to play in because my teammates predrop every pallet and complain that they get no points, something I see far more than a survivor running even an okay killer for 5 whole minutes.
This game has some serious BP problems, but it also has arrogant survivors that don't heal, don't do gens, don't loop, and farm teammates. Any BP changes will reward (and thereby cement) those actions more than they compensate boring trials.

Sadly it does not
In my experience, it really, really does, especially when you have a second quote this is something they said literally right next to it.
Otherwise, theres no such thing as ever trying to straw-man someone.

The quotes OP used weren’t meant to directly quote you but instead acted as air quotes, putting more emphasis upon the phrase.
That still falls under the banner of "putting words in ones mouth"
-
It would be nice, but there's something else to consider: this game runs only slightly better on most PC's. Unless you're running a very good setup, you're still going to deal with constant freezing, only now at 60fps!
-
Ruin/Surge/Surveillance is a nice combo. Maybe Enduring to just walk through pallets?

I hate to break it to you and be 'that person' but OP isn't putting words in your mouth, at least in regards to this particular statement they quoted originally. All they did otherwise is infer/suggest, likely from their own negative experiences, that you must then also think the opposite of this is true IE "It's only fine for Killers to do xyz bc SURVIVORS are evil". You know that argument.
Yeah, and to cap it all, apparently I said it was "gaming as intended", which is literally trying to quote me on something I didn't say. I would understand if quotation marks hadn't been used, but they were, so that really is trying to make it sound like I said that.
-
Nah, this reeks of hacking. The coding is terrible, but having that much break all at once? That's like winning the lottery.
Edit: plus, people used to do that a lot early last year. Hijack trials for laughs.
-
Except that this is a game where you can very easily have 10 "bad games" in a row that's overflowing with performance issues and taking a break won't really solve that. Plus killers have been stretched to breaking point so I'd rather some salty than literally having less killers.

I didn't put words into other peoples mouths, you literally said I was bullying a killer by looping, don't try to pawn off your opinions on me. You said it now deal with it.
"Bullying? So let me get this straight, when I get tunneled, camped, and slugged it's "gaming as intended", but god forbid I can actually loop a killer around all game that's "bullying"? Yea killer main detected."
Yeah, keep pretending you're not trying to straw-man.
Please, find a single instance where I've even used the phrase "gaming as intended".
-
Cakes are extremely rare this year, especially for survivors, because they added in more event items and then lowered the number of event nodes.
-
Toxicity and a lack of protection.

Haven't played killer in about a week.

Oof.

It's not like PC players have a smooth game with a smooth framerate.
-
I think it's just the result of poor management and a monopoly. Someone's pushing bad decisions and allowing a very thematic-based vision overtake what is a very gameplay-based experience.
Edit: I also don't even think it's someone working at the company, this feels like a lazy upler-management letting artists and visionaries run a development team with little checks and balances.

hi hi!! I'm just popping in to say that I think it's good to celebrate pride month because of how hard the LGBTQ+ community has worked to gain basic rights and respect. We may have our rights in some areas, but we are not necessarily accepted by everyone. The LGBTQ+ community is entitled to living their lives and loving whomever they want, but they are not free from hatred and being 'demonized' by communities. I am not a fan of shoving my lifestyle down other people's throats, but I will say that I am proud to be who I am and if I can celebrate that with other members and maybe see more people who share these struggles with me in mass media, I'd gladly support it :)!
You might be the most positive person I've ever met 💜
-
No they don't, this game runs like absolute shite on PC as well. A more accurate statement would be that they favour the rich, because it's only remotely stable on extremely expensive hardware.

I agree with quite a few of these except for the survivor wearing a Hijab- and please don't take this like I'm against people wearing Hijabs because I 100% am not- however BHVR have expressed a very clear intention to keep all modern religion out of their game. As far as I understand it, the Hijab is a pretty big staple of Islam (neither of the two other Abrahamic traditions use it) and adding in this may cause some... Serious issues with the playerbase, while violating that original intention.
That's true, but it is also a cultural thing and I've met a few people who don't follow any religion but still wear them because, well, it's a part of their identity. However, that in itself might also be a cultural thing, because NZ is really ######### wierd and really ######### isolated, so I have no clue whatsoever as to just how widespread that is.

Yeah, she is. I know she’s not a horror character, I was just saying it’s possible for a PS exclusive character be on other platforms in 3rd party games
Horizon as a series isn't a PS exclusive though, it's just that we have to wait for 4 years to get it on PC. Which is something at least because H:ZD became my one of my favourite games when it was released on PC last year.
Which sounds pointless to say, but it shows that Sony is willing to share their toys a bit more than they used to be so it's actually reasonable to hope for PS exclusive crossovers. If Microsoft and Bethesda don't ######### it all up, that is.

@Apollos said:
I like the idea that the characters have no real sexuality, so we can project whatever we like onto them. Besides that, the characters are rarely all that consistent so anything political about them like that would just sound shallow anyway. No thanks.
Which would have been fine, if not for the fact that the Devs added heterosexual relationships, apologised for the oversight, and promised to add LBGT+ inclusion as well.
Also, what politics?
-
@WexlerWendigo said:
Why are we still saying that including LGBTQ+ characters is political? A person’s sexual/romantic attraction has absolutely nothing to do with politics, people can’t be political based on characteristics they don’t control. Is it political for Nurse to have a husband?
It's a holdover from our rights being tied up in legal systems overseen by elected representatives who use our existence to sway votes one way or another. Just one of those things that the quagmire of democracy, bureaucracy and miscommunication has created.

Yup. BP overload is nice.

And both the lore team and gameplay teams are two completely seperate ones who's decisions do not really impact the decisions of the other so we can have both :D
The developer in me cringes so hard whenever I see someone trying to explain that (because it's so true). Personally, I wouldn't have a clue how to even begin with art (except writing), the only thing I ever did in that department was rigging, rough 3d animation and basic 3d asset creation, which I sucked at. Gameplay, programming and level design were what I studied.
-
The system is inherently flawed, which is kind of a good thing because for every good survivor theres 3 that predrop pallets and hold W to achieve a similar effect, and that's not something that needs encouraging.
Hopefully the Devs will do something different, like measure chase time Vs resources used and reward points for the least amount of resources used.

The Dwight that brought it also brought a key and led the killer to us then the killer let him escape.
Yup, that there's a big ol' hacker.
They do that sometimes, I found a Wraith that was giving themselves infinite All-Seeing and Midwich offerrings. That seemed to be it, the extent of their hacking was infinite consumables. It happens.

Okay that was back then this is now. In the west LGBT is hugely accepted, we have our rights we won the battle why do we still need to push everything in front of people? Its literally what's making people hate us again. LGBT acceptance rates are dropping and if you ask most 'homophobic' people its because of things like this. Its cause pride is constantly shoved down everyones throats and its annoying.
Actually, that's not true of anywhere but major cities, and even then they're not these magical places of equality. There's this idea going around that LGBT+ people are accepted and treated well and equally, but it's not how things happen in reality. Same as race issues, same as sexism. It's just not true and work needs to be done.
For example, a lack of visible trans people has left people with insane ideas. I know of many trans women that have to dress and act like drag queens in order for doctors and psychologists to take them "seriously". Adding trans characters would help show that this is absolutely BS.
-
Iron Will does nothing against a good Spirit, they don't even bother running Stridor. The counter is essentially predrop strong pallets and get really lucky.

Boy, if only there was some way to make games slower, more dynamic, and dangerous enough that survivors have to switch between who the killer chases so that everybody has a chance to work on gens, rescue people, heal others, search for chests/totems, and get chased by the killer.
Oh wait, they nerfed Ruin/Undying (and people STILL complain about it). Oh well!
But, you know, it's so unfair that those 5 minute games don't grant everybody maximum points.
You mean the perk combo that did nothing against the teams everyone complains about but gave killers the the easiest 12-hook win of their lives against everyone else, or more accurately let killers get away with hardcore camping and tunnelling so that no-one got points anyway?
-

if you are too lazy to do totems don't complain about noed if you rushed hardcore, and even if you didn't you still haven't done them, your mistake
It's not a matter of laziness, it's a matter of time and tripping over everyone's feet. As killer, I would love a perk that did nothing but block exit gates til all the totems are cleansed, it would be 10× stronger than NOED, especially if a team has even a single solo survivor on it.

@bjorksnas said:
They aren't many options for if you want to win a lot
if you want to play something else you have to accept that you might not do as well then if you selected something stronger other wise you are trapped in system of your own creation, and while it is the games fault for having things be stronger or weaker in comparison to each other it is also your fault to force yourself to have to do well. You can either have fun, or win, very rarely can you have both every single time if you only go for winning, maybe try a different angle.
Unfortunately, a lot of us don't find 4-minute trials or predropped pallets and expert W holding to be particularly fun, hence the whole "play-to-win" thing. Especially since the pip system is so ######### up that it took me nearly 20 deliberately thrown, attempted 12-hook trials in a row to do down 1 rank.
-
Actually, survivor is dependent on your team, not the killer. The Devs very clearly designed this game so that no matter what, survivors can always get a default win.

Looked up GaymerX and they seem like the exact reason we have these problems in the first place. And maybe people don't view as normal because we ourselves don't view the community as normal and treat it like some baby that needs everything it asks for? The fact the community is screaming so loud and DEMANDING they add in 'representation' shows that they view themselves as not normal and a special case. Acting normal would be playing the game and appreciating the characters not shouting at everyone because they don't have a gay character yet. And considering they're working with possibly the worst people imaginable to work with for this subject I can't imagine a single good thing ever coming from this.
When people act "normal", nothing happens. If no-one had ever asked for representation, the entire western media would consist entirely of cis straight white guys, with a sprinkling of racist, sexist, homophobic characatures. Because of that, they would only really be hiring and giving credit to, you guessed it, cis straight white guys, becuase the media tells them it's okay, which humans believe because stories are ridiculously important to our species.
Representation leads to normalisation, it doesn't happen the other way around.
Edit: Almost forgot, those cis striaght white guys would also have to be tough as nails and hard as old boot leather, because that's guy culture for you. No thoughtful, sensitive men allowed.
-
Actually, in that scenario they can only get up to 8k BP, and you were essentially bullying a baby killer which doesn't take much effort because, you know, 5 minutes.

I understand it's two different teams but Everytime this game adds anything at all it brakes a bunch of completely unrelated things.
I just want the game working properly before adding so much as a line of in game
So, what you are saying is that you would rather the Devs not release anything whatsoever? Literally nothing? No event, no cosmetics, nothing at all, until the bugs are gone and the game runs smooth?
So what, fire everyone else? Put them on indefinite, unpaid leave? What the hell are they going to do? They certainly can't keep working for bhvr, the company isn't using their talent and can't justify paying them once they've saturated the studio with unreleased content. Plus, the playerbase will drop massively because, well, no new content. That means significantly less revenue, so I guess it's a good thing that the entire art department got layed off.
DbD has to keep releasing content, there's no question about that. May as well add representation.
-

Pass if you want but I wouldn't care about them adding anything they can think of, After the game actually works. The state of the game and the revenue it produces don't match. The players (customers) are being ripped. You don't see issues like this in another game. I like to think to overwatch gameplay, bug fixes, then art lore etc. No one cares if the in game charter is straight or gay we all just want the game working properly first
I care, because it's a completely seperate thing with completely different people working on it that doesn't interfere with bugfixing, gameplay, stability or balance. Developers don't actually have interchangeable skillsets, after all.
-
I'm hoping they realise that, hey, you can have one character be multiple forms of representation without becoming a token, and that representation doesn't need to be in-your-face, and also that it really, really doesn't take that much effort.
Hopefully they continue to add cultural diversity, LGBT+ diversity and sprinkle it all with things like autism, varying social backgrounds, etc.
Also, still kinda wish they'd made Felix's pregnant girlfriend his pregnant boyfriend instead. I love those kinds of "you've gotta think about it" sentences. Hopefully they add some in future tomes and backstories, they really make me laugh and get warm fuzzy feelings.

But there’s no way to communicate who’s doing what in a solo game. Maybe if they didn’t tie to totem counter to a perk this wouldn’t be an issue
A totem counter won't tell people where the cleansed totems were, which is the big reason solo teams shouldn't even bother. Even if you have Detectives Hunch and a map, the other person won't. Also, all of that to counter a single perk is absolutely terrible game design.
-
The problem is that NOED is a free kill perk that killers don't earn and that survivors have to put in so much effort to "counter" that its actually the better play to let the killer get a petty little unearned kill than murder your own team by wasting minutes doing bones without being in a SWF squad.
Especially since multiple people doing totems is even worse for a solo team and wastes even more time.
-
Yes, survivors are leaving so fast that my survivor que times are increasing.
Wait, that doesn't make sense...
