That's never going to go down well with this community. Exhaustion is just too ingrained. Personally, I'd prefer for a slight rework that makes Sprint Burst a basic mechanic, and all other exhaustion perks change how it works (Lithe makes it only work on vaults, Dead Hard turns it into a small burst on-command, etc.) Then they can rebalance chases around basekit Exhaustion and people can stop pretending that it's necessary like slowdown perks on killer (it's not, it's just stupidly strong).

I’m not saying he was worse then, but if the same Trapper was in the game now, it would make him even weaker
I know, but you've also got to look at the game that exists around the killer. Doctor used to be considered one of the best after his buff, now people forget he exists despite nothing but a buff.
In Trappers case, he was stronger a year ago because people looped tiles and long grass was everywhere.

I've never seen any complaints about slinger that say he takes no skill.
Nearly every Slinger complaint thread since he was released, and on Twitter, Reddit and the steam forums.
Perhaps its died down recently, but when I was a Slinger main you'd swear I was playing Bamboozle Bubba or Forever Freddy.

It’s funny, since Trapper is extremely weak right now, but used to be even worse. He was previously unable to reset traps on the floor, so if you were at max capacity, there’s nothing you could do until you weren’t. Placing traps also used to take much longer, and the escaping system was much more RNG reliant than it is now.
The meta was different, trials were longer, the early game was less impactful, and the trap RNG change was actually just a nerf.
-
His power is the precise opposite of the meta. He wastes his whole early game getting set up, then spends the rest of the trial watching a grand total of none of his traps work because the survivors aren't stupid enough to bother looping a Trapper and just hold W and predrop pallets instead.
-
At least Slinger requires genuine skill, something most people like to ignore.
-
As far as we're aware, based on the amount of cheaters that can still play this game after being reported and still cheat, and absolutely zero evidence of anyone being effectively banned, there's no point submitting tickets. It doesn't lead anywhere.

I'm not an apologist. I'm realist. I'm a pragmatist. Are you still playing matches? If so, you are just as guilty in supporting the game as anyone else. I'm not trying to push your buttons. I'm pointing out this endless line of complaints has reached the point where it no longer gets results, in fact, it is a negative sum game. They no longer have any reason to listen to us because we have made the situation pointless.
It never got results, the Devs haven't cared in years. Their lack of competitors has made them extremely lazy.
But telling people they're spoiled, entitled brats just for asking for the bare minimum? People can't even play the game or dlc they payed for any more, it's when getting worse and worse for years, the Devs have made promises they haven't kept and refuse to acknowledge, and to cap it all they just don't do events any more.
Is it really entitled to ask for the easiest of these? I'm not talking about pride month specifically, I'm just pointing out that a few recycled items and a BP bonus is a better apology than literally ######### nothing.

And this thread, and some of the people in it, show why we can't have nice things. For some people it is never enough; you do something nice and they use it for an excuse to complain why they didn't get more. The Events (which are free) aren't as big as last time, we didn't get enough free Blood Points, my cause didn't get enough representation, and so on it goes. Seriously, you make Dudley from the Potterverse look like a perfectly normal guy.
It doesn't matter what the company does, there are a significant enough number of you that are going to take a dump on it. Do I need to explain negative feedback loops to you? At some point (probably reached it already) the DEV are going to say, "why do we bother at all? If we are going to be treated as souless, incompetent jerks no matter what we do, doesn't it make more fiscal sense to just ignore them? Wouldn't it be less stressful to just never listen to them?"
Some of you guys are like the parents who scream at and berate their young children who did well, but not perfect. Yes Timmy, I know you guys won the game but you gave up three hits. You could have lost it for everyone. What if there had been a scout in the crowds. You are WORTHLESS! Do you see my point?
Given that the Devs decided it was too much effort to simply add little bloodhunts or recycle old events, I don't see your point. Call me entitled all you want, surely if they can't make the game function properly on anything less than the latest and greatest, they could at least throw a few bloodpoints at us?
But no, they don't, and apologists try to make us all look bad for continuing to support this game despite its severely mounting issues.

I mean, this is exactly what a Spirit-player is doing...
But yeah, people should not DC. But they will do that, so I dont bother that much anymore.
Is it? They're just playing a killer. The killer may not be fun to go against, but there's so much crap in this game that isn't fun to go against that it's not really fair to single out someone whose probably just playing a killer they like.

I know, right? More flags would be awesome.
-
They didn't drop the ball, they just didn't really do anything. Kinda the safe option, especially given so many people's completely misunderstood views on the LGBT+ community. Stereotypes are not the kind of inclusion anyone wants.
Edit: Still could have added more flags though.
-
In a few years when the lisences are starting to run dry, perhaps.
-
Yeah, it's called every single self-nerf add-on.
-
Nope, tunneling doesn't work agaisnt efficient survivors. I've tried. It's just laziness.
Camping and slugging, those are different stories. But tunneling? Completely inneffective, both BT and DS exist so you're literally preying on off-meta builds.
-
Nope, that's just how it works. Yay solo-preying.
-
It is, but they can't really ban you for it so they don't enforce it even on blatantly cheating streamers.
-
The game is mostly balanced right now, just not in a good way.
-
No, it isn't. The base detection range is whatever your current TR is + any Killer Instinct add-ons (they increase FF detection range without increasing your TR). The survivors don't have to hear your TR in order for FF to reveal them, so if they're Oblivious they're still highlighted by Killer Instinct. However, if you are Undetectable then you don't have a TR and so Killer Instinct won't reveal anyone.
-
But the problem is that with all traps he can be insanely unfair. I feel like the best version is centralised traps or getting traps from lockers.
-
Yeah, all survivors have to do is travel in pairs and use lockers and there's nothing they can do.
-
Yeah, I like survivor a lot more just because everything about it is less stressful because, well, it's not really in your control.
Also, you can have wierd experiences like somehow juggling a brown medkit through 6 trials.
-
Que times and BP.
Edit: Also, killer is very easy at low ranks. Maybe play on AU servers at rank 1.
-
NOED is an absolutely terrible perk that only helps you win if survivors try to cleanse all 5 totems. Otherwise, it's just a free kill that helps you feel better about your loss.
-
That would just engourage tunneling.
-
Sure.
-
Bubba. Easily Bubba. Throw on Bamboozle and every chase plays itself and you have enough lethality to be mindlessly, borderline accidentally dangerous even to good teams.
-
Okay. I see we have another person that wants the free wins of dumping on solo que.

You answered your own question. This game has issues and the devs don't care to fix most of them. Why shouldn't I complain?
Because there's significantly more important issues in DbD that the limited resources of this development team should be used for.
-
They don't listen to Otz, they don't listen to anyoneunless the entire community comes together to scream about something for years, which is what happened with DS.
Also, BT was buffed, slugging is the nicest way of winning, and they've been buffing already strong loops for about a year now.
-
The complaints are justified, the Devs have really dug themselves a massive hole. Most of the playerbase can barely play the game because they've been too busy funnelling resources elsewhere and not into game optimisation. Next to that is the awful gameplay they're cultivating becuase they're too scared to shake things up (just look at the MMR complaints).
I get wanting a stable main revenue stream, but also ######### corporate greed. They could actually throw us a bone here with a stable ######### game, then try and pump money out of us. That's how good, long-lasting companies work. They do the bare ######### minimum in order to trick their consumers into thinking they're on the consumers side. That's literally the first thing I learned in business school.
Edit: Also, their PR is a ######### dumpster fire. I feel so sorry for the community managers, I know it's not their fault.
-
Nemesis is like Deathslinger. If you're a good aim, the survivor can't do much. If you're bad, it seems like the survivor is dodging you but in reality it was always on you to miss.
However, unlike other killers like that his range is much shorter and so looping is still a possibility even against a good Nemesis.
-
Okay, what exactly were you expecting? This is an extremely underfunded game with oversight that doesn't care and a Dev team that doesn't fix any serious issues, and you're genuinely complaining... About voice lines.
I'm just glad they have unique voice lines. I half expected them to be copied from other survivors.
-
Spirit's breathing bug. It made he rmuch more fun to play, much more fun to go against, and really seperated the bad players from the good ones.
-
Yes, how correct, the few linked liscenced sets are totally a good reason to link everything forevermore
-
The problem is t SWF, the problem is that when survivors are properly co-ordinated they have an I-Win button.
However, when they lack co-ordination, then it's the killer who gets a free win.
Camping and tunnelling are similar in issue to predropping pallets ,holding W and slamming gens. They all need to go at the same time, and the best way to do that is probably by reworking generators.
-
From what I can tell, NA is split into West and East servers
-
Firstly, I'd throw out the existing grind. I've tried to convince so many people to play this game and the moment I mention the literal thousands of hours required to get all perks, or the hundreds to get a couple of good ones, they nope the ######### out and I honestly don't blame them.
Secondly, I'd swap out some of the perks. BBQ, WGLF, Pop, DS, Zanshin Tactics, and Windows of Opportunity should be base-game perks. To lessen the grind a bit more, the weaker base perks can replace them on the characters they come from.
Third, I'd make the Shrine and new character cheaper, maybe even slash the price in half.
Fourth, I'd add an actual co-ordination system that encourages teamwork, like callouts. The last thing this game needs is selfish survivors and the current solo que experience.

This!!!
I’ve been saying this on these forums for YEARS (even on my old account).
But so few believe just how extreme the gaming landscape is in Australia and New Zealand. It’s ultra competitive, and this in turn can make online gaming highly stressful here.
I still rember playing Ark on American servers once. They were so confused as to how 3 of us took over an entire cluster of maps in a fortnight, while dealing with 150+ ping. Something about being down here just makes everyone ultra competitive, and you just sort of get used to it after a while.

Can you even switch server in game?
VPN and playing with friends. Just to test the difference between servers I jumped around the 3 main ones as both killer and survivor, and just to make sure it wasn't my ping magically changing the way people play I throttled my AU connection.
NA West is full of campers and tunnelers that do it right form the start and usually lose, NA East is honestly the most "normal" place I've played in the sense that it's consistently in the middle, EU is wierd and gets way sweatier when it's not in the evening but not in the AU way (we rush gens, EU is more about chase skill and showing off).
It's not like this is something I do normally, I just got curious after playing with some of my international friends and decided to test. Turns out AU really does ######### suck.
-
@aroell said:
Do you are taking out your anger on other survivors just because you didn’t win the match before?
No, it's just AU evenings. They really are vastly different to NA and EU, as a solo survivor I usually get matched with 2-3 person SWF teams and everyone knows to do gens. Unfortunately, they also like to predrop pallets.
AU killer is really one of the worst experiences this game has to offer. I've played on NA West, NA East and EU servers and it's just way more chill in every possible way.

its hard to keep being possitive of a product that is so consistenly failing.
recent memory, the skins for Leon and Jill being separate in the ptb and suddenly a locked set on release.....like how transparantly evil/money grabbing is bhvr really.
This reminds me of that Coca Cola story from the 90's, about how they had the idea to put thermometers in vending machines so they could charge people more when it was hotter and their sales peaked.
Only the idiot in charge actually put it like that when speaking publicly instead of saying it was to charge people less when it was cooler and there was less demand whilst slowly raising the base price to the planned high-temperature number.
I hate capitalism and corporate greed, but for ######### sakes BHVR could at least pretend to care.
-
Most people want chases to be a fair competition where there's always something interesting one side can do against a killer. The problem being that gens can go so fast that survivors can predrop every pallet and screw over every killer or just hold W to waste loads of time with no effort, so the game has to eliminate those two before chases can really be addressed.
-
They're a marketing tool, nothing more. And not even a well maintained one at that, given the people in the program that are definitely not good marketing.

I mean...I can see your point with that last statement because people in this game seem to take losing very seriously and blow it out of proportion ALOT, but if Nurse was really as easy as you say then I would think we'd be seeing a whole lot more Nurse players than we do now. That's not the case though. I don't know about you, but I've played against exactly 2 Nurses in public matches within the last 3 months being in NA west servers. I would think that more people would be willing to sacrifice a few losses in order to easily dominate almost every match they play in after the fact. Again that's not the case though. These days you'll mostly see Wraith or Spirit.
Even after you get the hang of Nurse and her blink distances the skill cap doesn't end there. Depending on how good the survivors are you need to adjust how you play against them. Sure it's not hard to catch a survivor who runs in a straight line or a survivor who always doubles back, but a survivor who knows how to not be as predictable as most others can be a real pain to catch when they do things like break los, hold forward, and fake a double back one chase, and then just simply hold forward the next. They'll really know how to throw off even a good Nurse and even then when you still manage to catch them after like 45 seconds, then they still managed to buy a decent amount of time for there teammates to sit on gens. And not to mention the many bugs she has to deal with and also console, where I play her, where you're even more limited by things like bad frames and controller trigger dead zones and all that jazz.
You're absolutely right though in the fact that you don't need to master Nurse in order to win most matches and that's because the majority of survivors are just bad. I don't know how else to say that. They're just not very good at the game. Very rarely when I win a game as Nurse do I think "Wow I'm so glad I was Nurse. There's no way I would've been able to win that match with any other killer." In fact I'd be willing to bet I could win about 80-90% of the games I win on Nurse using someone like Ghostface. That's just the fault of the poor matchmaking and rank systems. People with 100 hours will play against people with 10,000 hours. That's one reason why I personally feel like an mmr system would be good for the balance of the game. It would shed some light on a bunch of things.
At the end of the day though we can just agree to disagree I suppose. Like I said I'm aware of your dislike of Nurse so I doubt either of us will budge but yeah that's just my input.
I understand why people think Nurse is hard, I just don't like that a mediocre Nurse is more than a match for nearly every single team, judging by my own mediocrity and win rate. Thats what I consider easy.

Wish i could sell unwanted ######### sure but they dont care, and honestly there should be a grind. Theres a lot of characters and if you wanted everything in the game it should take some time.
It should take hundreds of hours, not thousands.

5 hours to destroy all but tourney squads?
And the second easiest killer in the game?
Come on. I know you don't like Nurse, but even you have to admit you're overexaggerating here.
Nope. Having a harsh initial curve doesn't make a killer hard to play. People just massively overrate Nurse because of the first few humiliating trials.
-
That's a pretty normal trial for me, and what I've learned is that it takes no skill to beat, just survivors that will throw a trial. All you do is hook someone kn a strategic location between some gens and facecamp them.
This, by the way, is the reason I don't really play killer any more. It's miserable.

It's not to get the hand of. You can easily get the basic of understanding of any killer including Nurse, Blight, or other top tiers. It's to master the killer. To truly become unstoppable in the face of all the tricks of good survivors.
But you don't need to master Nurse. Almost every other killer, in order to achieve her win rate, you absolutely need to be the best. Nurse? Nah, just be okay and dont miss much and you're good.

No one has to prestige though that is OPTIONAL. Every perk on your character is optional you only need 4 your good with on a character. The major grind P3 with every perk is optional. Level 50 with all perks aint bad with bbq/wglf, offerings, bp codes, and events.
Did you not read what I wrote? I don't prestige and it doesn't really matter because prestiging takes no effort compared to... You know, just getting perks.
