It's not. But whatever you say. I'm sorry but you're not learning blink distances. And how to deal with survivors that know how to break LOS. How to beat double backs, etc. In about 5 hours.

Um, I know all of that and did before I even touched her. The hardest part about Nurse is learning basic mechanical skills, and knc eyou have that she is the easiest killer kn the game. Slap on IF and your favourite slowdown and it's over before it started.

She is the most overrated killer in the game. People worship me for easily 4king with her and call me a scumbag for losing as perkless Deathslinger. Makes perfect sense.

  • To be fair... She's really not. Five hours and you've got enough skill to tear through every team except proper tournament squads, I wouldn't call that a hard killer to learn. Not like Billy, or Blight, or Huntress, or Demogorgon, or Plague, or literally any other killer in the game except perhaps Spirit.

Question: Is Pride for people who are struggling with finding their sexuality?

Certainly not asking for myself or anything….

Absolutely, even if someone decides they're straight it's extremely important that they went through that whole ordeal.

Plus, it's not exactly like all of us have it sorted. Sexuality is... Pretty damn fluid for a lot of people, if we're being honest.

Grind is optional no one has to prestige. Not sure how thats all you have though. Been playing a little over a year and all my killers are P3 except 4 newest. Twins P2 rest P1 including nemesis. Have all survivors leveled to 40 with Nancy P3, Zarina P2, and about 5 P1. I also feel a gm without bbq/wglf is a waste of a game so that helps. Were people screw up is doing a bunch of levels of 50 then deciding to prestige. No point in investing past 50 if you prestiging.

The grind is not optional, I tested p3ing a character myself and the amount of time to get to P3 wasn't even close to the amount of time to get all perks.

I take pride in tunneling, and sometimes camping. Would be great if there were charms for those.

So did you just not read the post, or...?

I disagree with Scott here. Love his videos. Am subscribed. Less grind is an available option for all players.

    And what is that option?

  • Yeah, it's not super fun. Kinda makes me wish Coup de Grace was on a 40 second cooldown timer.

Edit: and also made you phase through pallets so that predropping them isn't such a good strategy.

I've told a friend who is extremely close to me and my father both a while back (I don't live with my dad but rather my mother and step father). I'm not sure about the friend...but my dad thinks that I should keep quiet for now just incase everything goes bad.

Also I hope you're happy after what you went through, I cant imagine it being great but atleast you're through it now ^^

Its good you have people to confide in! I don't know what its like for you, but I hope you come to a decision you won't regret, or at least to the decision you will regret the least. Either way you'll be taking a chance, but know that it's something that most LGBT+ people have to deal with one way or another. I delayed, and it wasn't so bad, but my reasons were admittedly rather different.

Yeah, but nothing can be done until we get a proper matchmaking.

Here's hoping that MMR Actually works, then. It sounds sarcastic, but I genuinely would love to get 8-hook 0-k trials just because it's way more fun and chill. Every time I do that now, I get like 3 hooks and the game is over.

  • Judging by the tone, this seems to be a personal question you are outsourcing.

  • @aroell said:

Because it’s not the same thing, gen rush has counters but tunneling doesnt

It doesn't, but personally I only consider it genrushing if it's actual genrushing. The legitimately uncounterable BS that gets the gates open in under 3 minutes (I think 2.40 is the current-meta lowest match length from spawn to last survivor out the gates?) that tournaments have multitudes of rules in place to prevent.

Nor does tunneling, really, but it's also not that effective a strategy against really good survivors. However it is a lot more prevalent and so is a bigger issue imo.

  • @NoOneKnowsNova said:

Ok I guess...I want to tell my family that I'm pansexual but I worry how they'd react, and that if they react badly that I'll have to deal with them due to me being too young to live alone... on the positive side I'm into someone but I dont think they like me back and I'm too nervous to ask anyways.

Glad to see others are having a good month though ^^

Do what you think is best, none of us can really help beyond whatever support random forum strangers can supply. I didn't come out as bi til I was almost 20, then trans three years later. And, as much as it hurts to have come out that late (especially the trans part), it wasn't the end of the world.

Maybe there's someone in your family you can talk to, or a friend? Someone that can give you a second opinion without outing you?

  • First of all, killers lose 3 gens in 90 seconds no-contest, that's how the game is designed. Second of all, good survivors beat any killer no-contest. That is also how the game is designed, just look at how unruled tournaments play out. Third, camping is only effective if the survivor is hooked in an important location, and even then it's not useful against actual genrushers. At that point the killer is getting 1 kill at best, perhaps 2 if the survivor forgot to predrop pallets or the killer is playing Nurse and in both scenarios is using NOED.

Edit: also, if we're talking about brainless strategies, the survivor meta is IW, 3 second chance perks and predropping pallets.

And that sure as hell isn't balanced. They may not have played as efficiently as possible, but it was enough to win against my Nurse. That isn't even possible except for those situations where I get a combo of bad RNG+Genrush.

Did I mention that those guys were seriously BAD? It takes no skill to do that, and yet it beats the best killer in the game playing efficiently as possible. Now, think of trying to win that as Wraith, Myers, etc. Literally impossible.

Yeah, no shite they were bad, that is literally the AU killer experience you are complaining about. Slam gens, predrop pallets, pretend you were good. That is the absolutely significant majority of teams I go against, and is why my m1 skills are so ######### rusty. It take sno skill to play that way and no skill to beat them, just plenty of hardcore camping and slugging.

  • @CoalTower said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2294931#Comment_2294931

I'm just saying that that isn't winnable for other killers. That shouldn't be a thing.

It is winnable, my average gen speeds are 3-4 minutes and I still beat those teams as a Plague main. It's just not very fun.

  • Because you clearly didn't at perfectly. 5 minutes is an average match length for me, and I win about half of them. As Plague. I still win a lot against 3.30 gens.

What you went against was a normal SWF team and you should have played dirtier. That's just how it is. Does it suck? Yes, but that's just the game, and at this level it's unfortunately still balanced. Now, of you wanna talk about 3-minite trials, or 3.30 trials, I'm here for that too. Because I ######### hate all of it and its not fun to play even if it is still possible to win.

  • It's so sad the amount of people that genuinely believe this.

  • May as well, the Devs did go out of their way to still allow hook suicides, it seems quite unfair to try and force killers to play on while survivors can just quit.

  • I love how controversial NOED is. Its not even a good ######### perk, so who the ######### doesn't want it changed? 2k facecampers and tunnellers?

Please, make it an earned perk and buff the crap out of it. Instadowns when the gates are powered is worth nothing but a free kill. Its like ######### Insidious.

  • The speed of the generators isn't the problem, it's the complete lack of interactivity required. Even when survivors spawn together, they spread out within 10 seconds and are all working on a gen, which is why I say it takes 90 seconds for 3 gens to pop instead of saying 80.

Edit: Seriously, generators are the worst part about this game, they're so ######### boring but skilless tryhards tear through them because they're too scared they can't run the killer.

  • @WishIcouldmain said:

That must be why I only see Knockout and Third Seal on Baby Bubbas and Hags because they're definitely strong perks. Solo Q while weaker can handle slugging unless it's with Nurse.

The reason you don't see it that often if because it literally only works against solo que and there's almost no solo teams, meaning the killer has to ge the SWF buddies first.

Trust me, I test all this bullshit. I check friends lists, I dodge lobbies to find good test sites, I play survivor. That's why I hate Tinkerer, that's why I hate NOED, that's why I hate Knockout, that's why I hate Third Seal. They essentially exist to prey on solo's. Even Tinkerer, because Discordance, Thrilling Tremors or Surveillance are much better against sweat squads.

  • @WishIcouldmain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2293799#Comment_2293799

That's why I believe there could be implementation of better communication in Solo Q. But perks should stay separate since a lot of these perks can be countered by basic survivors, And those perks also aren't that good, but can do good damage. And you told me once that you for a perk Lucky Break would heal or cleanse through a Legion and Plague. Giving them their powers damage. That's exactly the reason why these perks that you say should be changed get so much value. Because people don't play accordingly to how you should face a killer. I described a situation where a Plague was constantly getting Corrupt Purge since survivors would keep cleansing. So thanks for taking an initiative to improve Solo Q.

I don't think you quite understand why co-ordination is borderline impossible in solo que, or why removing the ability to see slugged survivors, where the survivors were slugged, and their ability to see you are so ######### OP against anyone that can't say "yeah, I'm by shack", which is not something that will ever be put in DbD.

  • @WishIcouldmain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2293773#Comment_2293773

I disagree. In my opinion they'd be pointless since nothing can fix a Claudette Self-Caring against a Plague. And I've gotten teammates who also know what they're doing and play accordingly.

So you think it's fair that killers can get the easiest win of their lives with Knockout/Third Seal?

  • Because they don't give a crap about the people wanting another Nurse and literally every killer that's released that isn't in her level immediately gets called "below par"

  • Why bully people IRL? It's the same mentality, they're small and want to feel powerful.

  • Some perks do need nerfed precisely because they impact solo que way more than SWF and always, no matter what may come in terms of direct solo buffs, will.

I don’t feel one way or the other about it, but I do think about Pride Month a lot.

I’m in my twenties and still haven’t came out to my family as bisexual.

My grandma literally cries every time my brother and my cousin makes a joke about me being a lesbian. And every time, I lie to her and tell her that I’m heterosexual.

I don’t plan to tell anyone in my family the truth, especially knowing that they’ll be against me. I’m not strong enough for that, yet. But for the most part, I am happy with my life right now. And I hope everyone within the LGBTQ+ community are or will be happy with themselves.

I'm sorry your family is like that, I know what its like to have to deal with that BS and it's not a good environment. But, well, the internet is a (sort of?) wonderful place to be yourself, and I'm so happy for you that you feel comfortable enough to share this! <3

  • Pretty good, actually. A random series of coincidences, mostly good ones, led to me starting on hormones on precisely June 1st, which made me absolutely lose my ######### when I realised like 2 days later.

Actually Pyramid's cooldown is very slightly faster, Punishment is 2.25 and Tentacle Strike is 2.5

It's not much but I mean, maybe that quarter second could be what turns a chase around, ya never know

True, but POTD moves too slowly to be effective against good survivors without animation lock, so I honestly barely consider him a ranged killer.

  • TL walls only become problematic when they're chained, and even then they're far weaker than a chained jungle gym unless they're chained directly together.

  • Because Nemesis is way more fun, has better built-in info and acts as a short-range Deathslinger with a much quicker cooldown than any other ranged killer.

  • Here's a better idea, just get rid of keys like what was promised.

Seriously, that would be a much better idea. Killers should see maps so they know it's dangerous to bring Hex perks, medkits to know they can't juggle, toolboxes to know the games going to go quicker, and flashlights to know people are going to get aggressive. Keys, though, are the biggest FU left in the game so of course people are going to get pissed. I haven't played Killer in 2 days because every other trial was a key for nearly a week.

Why do a lot of killer mains on here love victimizing themselves

I'm not a killer main and yet I experience far more toxicity as killer than as survivor, and as a survivor I even get toxicity from teammates so in theory the amount of complete dickheads should be much higher. But, no, something about this game really does make people okay with going out of their way to antagonise killers.

It actually does shut them down. Even if you have an amazing spot, they will still get the alert and will run away. Also if you are having a lot of issues with people running away from you when you try to stalk and they don't have spine chill, that sounds like you are picking piss poor positions to stalk and should reevaluate your play.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2290237#Comment_2290237

You really need to read my man. Yes, i have thoroughly stated that you can crab walk to a gen to counter play spine chill. That is why despite having stealth built into her kit, i did not mention Pig being hard countered by Spine Chill because as stupid as it looks you can crab walk to counter it.

What about GF and Myers. Once you get there you HAVE to look at the to stalk. You cannot stalk out of your ears. So what do i do then? Again, not the point where i'm approaching, the part when i'm there and i HAVE to look at them.

Also spirit really isn't an insta win with stridor. She wasn't even top kill percentage last time they put out stats. Also you can use stealth perks to counter tracking perks if you don't like that much. So yes it is comparable, no having your power stuffed by a perk is not a minor inconvenience and for one final time to really get my point across i am not talking about the crab walking to the gen, i am talking about stalking with GF and Myers because you have to look at them. Also no, stridor spirit is not insta death. I have escaped trials from a stridor spirit, as i'[m sure you have as well. I have played Stridor spirit and i do not have a 100% kill percentage with her. It is not insta death. I think it's stupid that she turns the chase into a guessing game and i want that changed. But if spine chill stopping GF and Myers from stalking (NOT APPROACHING WHEN YOU CAN CRAB WALK) then spirit doing that to chases is fine.

They have 2.5 second of warning and spine chill does nothing that paying attention to your surroundings doesn't do. I haven't used the perk in years and I still have no real trouble going against stealth killers.

I've got PGTW, BBQ, Surge and Eruption currently.

It's...difficult to try to use his power in meaningful ways. I basically have to guess where the Survivor will be when my screen freezes.

Omg I had the exact same problem with Legion and had no idea I was even doing that until I did the dx12 thing and it cleared up and the shock of not having freezes made me waste like 6 frenzies!

This game is so ######### broken that the only potential fix to freezing on any platform is steams custom launch options, which doesn't even remotely help the majority of the playerbase. ######### this chapter and ######### that one zombie that made my game crash by hitting me.

hehehe. i mean, to be fair, there weren't that many pallets before the remodel

There were about 16-20 and they were just as safe as they are now. As in, there's a peak to maximum safety and anything beyond that doesn't matter.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2290279#Comment_2290279

Tbh it's probably more true this time around because of how he freezes the game when he pulls out a tentacle.

Makes it horribly difficult to use his power.

Homestly, the only real gameplay difference I've noticed is the amount of Nemesis's with NOED, which is just sad for multiple reasons.

  • Hey, look, it's the obligatory post complaining about how the new killer just camps and tunnels them, I was worried we wouldn't get one this chapter.

  • NOED, because I hate free kills and second chances. Rancor as well because it has a similar, though slightly harder to use condition.

Devour Hope, becuase it's holding back Hex perks as a whole and is the sole legitimate reason totem spawns won't be buffed.

Bamboozle, because ######### perks that force you to play scummy. It's like if survivors had a perk that only let the hook timer run if the killer is within 12m.

Tinkerer, because it disproportionately affects solo que because it requires extensive co-ordination to overcome.

Knockout and Third Seal, because they are literally just solo-bully perks and have zero other purpose than to 4-person-slug an entire team and then probably leave them to bleed out because that's the only kind of person I have ever seen running these perks outside of getting achievements.

I certainly wouldn't nerf BBQ, that might make killers use strong, counterless tracking perks and no-one wants that.

  • Spine Chill doesn't "shut down" any killer, they're just weak and you're reaching for an excuse.

Sorry to say, but I've been in plenty of trials with absolutely zero Spine Chill and they still run the moment I start stalking. Why? Because you have a bright white mask and they were paying attention.

  • Well, no. Surge is a completely passive perk whose only downside is only working on killers that only m1 to down. Which is stupid, but otherwise it's fine. Eruption, however, requires you to go out of your way to set it up.

  • Because in nearly every single trial you will get 4 stacks of BBQ without even trying and end up with 50-60k BP.

WGLF, on the other hand, requires you do go extremely far out of your way and directly compete with other survivors to get all 4 stacks, potentially ending up in a full game-throw. Or, you could get one or two stacks and not completely throw the trial. Either way, you're probably only going to end up with anywhere between 15-40k points.

  • @Pulsar said:

Darkness Among Us was the worst tbh

I feel like Binding of Kin was a horrific cross between Darkness Among Us and Resident Evil. It came with a plethora of bugs and horrific optimisation second only to RE, and a killer only slightly better to face than Old Legion.

  • Here's some numbers:

Survivors move at 4.0m/s, also known as 100% ms (movement speed). This speed doesnt change whether or not you are Healthy or Injured. When you are hit, you move at 6.0 m/s (150% ms) for 2.5 seconds while the killer goes through a 3 second cooldown where they are practically stationary.

Most killers move at 4.6m/s (115% ms) and have a 32m Terror Radius. This speed allows them to play tiles normally, what's referred to as "basic m1 killer". They move just quick enough that, if you make a mistake while looping a tile, they can catch you if the killer is good enough and you don't have any second chance perks left.

Some killers with powerful abilities move at 4.4 m/s (110 ms) and have a 24m TR. They cannot play tiles normally and, rare circumstances notwithstanding, have to use their powers in order to down you because that loss of 0.2 m/s is actually quite significant when it comes to playing tiles, though it has little impact on the rest of the game.

The reason killers move faster than survivors is, well, so they can actually catch them. Right now, one of the most effective things to do as a Survivor is to run in a straight line, because it takes around 30 seconds just for the killer just to catch up. When survivors instantly throw pallets when they get to them without even trying to play the tile, it becomes impossible to win unless the team just isn't repairing the generators. This kind of gameplay is essentially the survivors equivalent of camping and tunneling, and is why camping and tunneling are so prevalent. It takes one to beat the other, is essentially the problem.

  • The Devs don't understand proper PR and aren't confident enough in themselves or this game to make proper official statements. They probably don't even understand why the community gets so frustrated and vocal.

And the best part is that I'm absolutely certain this isn't even the fault of the community managers or the programmers.

  • You're not wrong, that's exactly what happened to me. Getting literal genrush attempts coming at me at least every other trial (yay 3-and-a-half-minute-gens) and then get screamed at in the post-game about anything I did? No wonder there's so few evening AU killers.

  • I'm sorry, but I got a minute into that video and the Spirit missed easy hits twice.

I'm not going to say whether you are right or wrong, I'm always desperate for any reasonable Spirit counterplay becuase I love playing Spirit and I want her to be fun to vs, but I don't think substandard gameplay is a good place to look for counterplay. May as just watch myself play at that point, gods know I screw up a lot with her.

  • It doesn't do enough against hardcore tunneling and too many... Less-than-thoughtful killers think that's somehow a way to beat good survivors (newsflash, it isn't, I tried it, strategic camping and plenty of slugging is significantly more effective, and by that I mean you don't get genrushed).

1 … 25 26 27 28 29 … 165
