I have 40 to NA east but the game loves to try and stick me on NA west (usually around 100-120ms) depending on load. I'm not playing a game on anything above 60 ping. Netcode isn't good enough for that. The game feels terrible.

Same scenario for me as well except I'm NA West and get put in NA East. I've been put in EU servers a couple of times before too. So frickin' annoying

Cause this is a horror game, darkness is part of the game mechanics, it helps to hide survivors, killers, items, etc.

making use of an in-game brightness control is totally fine, but going into the files of the game and messing with the gamma is a complete different thing.

The single fact that you are editing the game to give you an advantage in a game that in the practice is competitive, is sad and makes you a cheater.

I don't know anyone who actually edits the files of the game to make their game brighter. That's just Graphic card filters. As far as I know, there are literally zero actual DbD game file modifications required. I can also do the same thing with my monitor. Just as anyone with a brain can do with their displays.

As far as I'm concerned, you're only valid argument here is stretched-res which I agree with.

Because it gives a large advantage against players on consoles who cannot do that and makes it unbalanced against oc plyers

Turn the brightness/contrast on your TV up higher. Problem solved.

then you without a doubt play vs bad survivors

nurse without cooldown addons facing good survivors is a loose loose scenario 80% of the times

good survivor changes the way he plays vs nurse every time, based on the objects around him and based on what you do

long range blinks are just impossible to hit unless you guess in maps like the game where both killer and survivor cant see anything due to walls

short range blinks are ez, but long range blinks are inevitable since when you hit them, they run soooooooooooo far with all the stuns nurse gets

Nah. Nurse doesn't need any addons. 1.5 seconds less of a cooldown is not by any means, required. Simply play better.

At least someone that read and answer the question, if it doesn't avoid SC than fine with me, i couldn't care less if they change the way of holding M1 to just On/Off. I can understand its not an exciting part of gameplay.

And to answer fully to you, thats not the fact that SC was skillful or not that was worrying me, that was because many perks/power/add on rely on SC.

See I could understand that. If it prevented skill checks from appearing, yeah, it should absolutely go, but it simply makes M1, a toggle instead of hold.

I realize I missed out on context and that made my response very aggressive, I apologize.

  • @Nossy said:

Since no one answered and dodge the question, i suppose this is a glitch to avoid skillcheck so glad it will disappear. For OP, there is many ways to get around it (i proposed 2 ez myself), for the other lazy afk players, im sad for you that you have to use this...if holding a key is too hard for you then learn to loop and take care of the killer while the other less lazy can hold M1 for you....

What? It doesn't "avoid skill checks" in the slightest, it simply holds M1 for you. You still have to do the skill check part. Just you don't have to press your finger down for 80 seconds. Literally, the only skillful part of doing a gen is still there and required to be done, the stupid gimmick, on the other hand, is gone.

  • I have no ######### idea why the devs opted to not give points for chasing and being chased by Victor. It's so ######### stupid.

I also think that having Victor come back 6 seconds later after being kicked is stupid but that's a whole other conversation entirely.

  • Spirit is like every encounter you flip a coin, and then you either get hit or you don't. Or if the Spirit can do things other than hear well, there's nothing you can do. "Just don't make noise, don't make the grass move".

Twins, they're not good, just extremely annoying. First off, you get no evader points from the little Gremlin, which sucks because 99% of the time you're being chased by the gremlin. Also, whenever you actually outplay the Gremlin, he'll be back in like 6 seconds so yeah.

If it were a Spirit or Twins, I'd rather take the Spirit honestly.

I had a game where the survivor is at the exit gate, I expose and down him. When I go to hook him, he wiggles free. He runs back to the door and I down him again. He wiggles, now we both know that I can't make it to a hook. So I drop him on the ground after a minute I pick him up and he continues to wiggle. I place him back on the ground and let him bleed out. After the game is over he says that I was toxic.

So Forums what is your consensus, was I toxic?

As an additional note: the reason there were no hooks is that they ran 2 purple hook offerings to increase the distance between hooks. This was a 4 man swf, lowest ranked individual was a rank 3.

    Nah, he got outplayed

  • Shouldn't reveal auras. That's literally the only thing if anything that needs to be changed. I don't know why they even added that.

  • Ears my man ears.

Tap into that brainless Spirit main for a second.

  • My personal problems are the lack of evader points for pipping, huge ass hitbox, and his cooldown seems really short. I don't know the actual cooldown but it feels like whenever I kick him, 9 seconds later I can hear Victor being called out again.

Some quality of life thing I'd recommend is reducing the miss punishment by a second or 2, but the survivor's kick isn't canceled when it's started.

  • You guys aren't saying please. That's why it isn't working smh

  • I don't think hit validation is working at all. Matchmade with a VPN killer from Canada, (I live in Oklahoma and the game servers I almost always connect to are in Virginia), this man was downing everyone from at least 16 meters away. This man had a 7-second delayed stun from a pallet... 7 seconds. Still able to hit me before he got stunned btw.

When I get back home later today, I post the clips

  • Don't know if you're still looking but Devotion 19 with 5,693 hours. Don't know how many hours I had before Devotion was a thing though. My estimate would be about 500-700. Sorry :(

  • @danielmaster87 said:

Run the tiles, link the tiles. And each killer, you play against differently.

#########. I knew I forgot something. Linking tiles together is the most important skill to have as a survivor. Any survivor can loop but it's the ones that know how to connect tiles together that get 5 gen runs or long (and efficient) chases in general.

Another thing, try to maximize window use. You have windows forever, pallets are limited.

  • Most skill in this game comes from experience. It's mostly just learning what players are most likely to do. Once you understand this, you get a general idea of what the killer/survivor is likely going to do based on what most killers do, and during the game, you start to pick up on what this specific opponent is likely to do. We'll come back to this.

For looping, I recommend Cru5h. He has a video called how to loop almost every tile and he explains looping far better than I ever could using text. After watching that, post in the DbD discord to see if someone will AFK in a KYF so you can learn maps and generally practice tiles and maybe even practice chases. (If you absolutely cannot find anyone, you can post on my activity feed on the forums and ask me. I can pretty much only play during the weekend because of my job but it all just depends). PRACTICE GETTING FAST VAULTS ON DIFFICULT (AND EVEN EASY) WINDOWS! Know what windows can and cannot be fast vaulted and what windows are good or a hindrance.

I also recommend playing as the killer to learn what your opponent will see and ultimately be thinking.

Now that you, hypothetically, learned about looping and even slightly improved. We can go back to that topic I started in the beginning.

Now that you have a general idea of what killers are likely to, I want you to start really focusing on what this killer does. Do they fake pallet breaks? Do they mindgame? How do they mindgame? How often do they mindgame? Do they hug as tight as they can? Do they cut too wide? All of these things are very important.

There's so much more but as I said, it's mostly from experience. I'm sure someone else will pick up what I left out but that's it for the most part

I feel you, I also feel like the term "toxic" is VERY misunderstood in this community.

Just because you like to run DS or NOED doesnt make you toxic.

Just because you like to tunnel or camp doesnt make you toxic.

Just because you like to stun the killer and flashlight save your teammates doesnt mean you are toxic.

Being toxic doesnt have anything to do with the perk you bring, your add-ons, the killer you play or a particular playstyle. People shouldnt call you toxic just because you are ussing legit strategies in a game.

A toxic player is someone who likes to bash players in game.

If you insult people after the game, if you leave a game because it's not going your way, if you try to sandbag your teammates constantly, if you hold the game hostage, if you abuse glitches or bugs in the game because they make you gain advantage over the other players, that's toxic.

So stop It with the "oh you're such a toxic player because you stun me 5 billion times, you are such a toxic player because you killed all 4 of us thanks to NOED".

    Agree 1000%

  • The thing about the Prestige grind is that it's optional. People who already hate the grind from 0-50, aren't going to like essentially having to do it 3 more times just to get level 3 perks. I'm all for prestiging having more content (the only reason to ever prestige, in my opinion, was back in 2016 for Legacy clothing, otherwise there is simply no reason to), but your idea actively removes the option of not prestiging and being forced to do the same (albeit slightly reduced) ######### grind again from the players.

  • images.jpeg

BOdy IS 1 CharAcTEr tOo SHort.

  • People often say rescue mission or Evil Incarnate.

I managed to get both of them in a single game, so just play better guys. By play better I mean get worse opponents.

Hardest one imo, is Left Behind. ######### Left Behind. All my homies hate Left Behind.

  • You ever black pip or even depip for ending the game too fast as killer? As long as that doesn't happen killer is generally speaking, in my opinion, easier to pip with.

I hate the pip system with a burning passion.

  • @Heartbound said:

Everyone's complaining about hexes always being active and here I am running soul guard.

Every time I run Soul Guard the killer never has a Hex. Just like when I run Unbreakable I never get slugged. As soon as it comes off tho...

  • Imo the cooldown before Victor comes back getting punted needs to be a tad bit longer.

The camera also shouldn't be locked while transferring back to Charlotte. That's just stupid.

Also, maybe getting chase points while being chased by Victor would be nice.

  • Sounds to me like you got outplayed.

  • Can we ever talk about anything other than meta ######### needing nerfs or the "if this then this"? I swear there are at least 27 threads about the same thing every day.

  • Simple solution. Everyone play Nurse.

  • ######### Jeff. More so if he's wearing the 4th-anniversary crown. :)

  • @Rubix said:

Dbd decided to warn survivors with a minor nerf when out of the blue they killed Mori powers, so good luck as I'm playing my keys every game until next update.

They did give us a warning to be fair. They said they realize how problematic keys and moris are and would be changed "soon". 1 "soon" later and moris were nerfed. Keys will be too, just more effort is required than changing a 1 to a 2. This community is so overdramatic. One change happens and it's always "what about...".

  • @Yords said:

I actually haven't seen much of keys, same as before.

Same here... I've had like a max of 2 key games in like 20 games, If we're not counting broken keys, it's more like 1. Everyone's talking like keys are in every game meanwhile I've only seen one black lock key and they said they brought it for the hatch challenge.

Keys aren't that bad IMO. Maybe it's because I play Nurse though.

  • First off, moris are offerings, not add-ons.

Second, being able to remove someone from the game after just one hook is insanely busted.

Good riddance, I say. I can finally use them without people dcing (or killing themselves on hook) because they think I'm going to mori them off first hook.

  • The only problem I have with Undying is the aura reveal. That simply should not be bundled with a Hex insurance perk.

  • @chargernick85 said:

For each hooked survivor gain a token. Each token reduces cleaning, healing, and repair speeds by X amount. Only way I would ever use.

Thank God I'm not the only one like this. I was starting to think I was losing my mind. Do either of you remember the big deal people were making because Cuphead was "too hard"? People were saying content shouldn't be locked behind difficulty and other nonsensical things like that. I was so bewildered because I found games like Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels to be fun and engaging, that was a normal gaming experience for me.

Gibblywibblywoo is completely on the money. The rise of MOBAs for instance is directly because of this. All of the modern MOBAs have (at least tried to) fix their games so that one person on a team can only have so much influence. Even in something like Overwatch, theres no kill counter.

The younger generations have made gaming communities wack.

Or when people complained about how Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice doesn't have an easy mode

He's still a little too new for me to consider him most balanced. His addon's are pretty meh, and the camera is quite awful on him. If I had to pick I'd probably say huntress. She is a fun killer overall and has pretty decent addon's but isn't addon dependent.

Huntress is a good pick. Everything aside from the addon that shall not be named and the long-outdated exhaustion addons (I mean come on, 30 and 90 seconds is a long ass time now that exhaustion doesn't go down while running) is pretty balanced.

  • @Sonzaishinai said:

Best change that i can think of for keys is to make them only able to unlock the hatch in the end game crisis.

It can be used to open the hatch after a killer closed it but wont end the game prematurally anymore. It also still makes that one achievement possible.

    Makes sense to me

  • @TAG said:

You also had to earn your Mori kill by being able to win chases against Survivors.

Because winning a chase against a single survivor is extremely difficult and time-consuming as opposed to doing five gens...

I agree keys need to be nerfed but I can win chases in literally less than 15 seconds as Nurse... Losing one chase should not have put you on death hook with no anti-tunnel or save potential (aside from locker ds which is getting changed).

  • Imo keys are almost ok, except they have zero counterplay aside from getting that person out of the game asap or kill them all quickly before the gens get done. This isn't bad if you are part of the Nurse main master race like myself, but becomes very problematic when you are not.

Keys need counterplay (so interaction, hell, even the potential for interaction other than the killer watching you open hatch in his/her/its face is necessary). Keys also have the potential to grant far too much reward. The potential for all 4 survivors to escape in 5 seconds without the killer being able to do anything, is problematic. One could argue that the killer would have already lost if all the survivors go through hatch anyway, but it completely cuts out the potential for the killer to come back with Bloodwarden or NOED or through skill (however unlikely that may be).

  • Wait people actually used moris? I used them like once every time a new killer came out to see the animation and then very rarely if ever, did I use them again (the majority of the time it's for a daily).

  • Takes more skill than Freddy so he's a-ok with me
