Three gold and one iridescent survivors vs me a bronze 4 killer hmmm yep definitely seems fair don't see a single problem even though I haven't played killer for a while and matchmaking as the dumbest requirement to raise or lower it and doesn't seem to have anything for killer yep all fair.
I have had that many times too today.

I think the way mmr works for killer is it puts you at the average until you play enough to provide data. The issue rises when you play a new killer the game thinks your at least decent with said killer.
Personally i think its pointless no matter how much data you provide. If a god tier swf is in que long enough the mm favors speed over fairness.
Oh well, that could explain my issues! Thanks for letting me know.

And why are they still being shown even though they have nothing to do with matchmaking? Those my friend, are good questions
Yeah but the real problem is, that the new MM provides way worse players or way better players overall. This makes me wanna play Custom only. I mean its not like i would not play customs but i cant play customs on my own and i have like 2 friends which play DBD and the're like offline forever xD

I loop the killer into oblivion & get flashlight saves 10x a game, which is fun, but my teammates are terrible and fail a skill check literally every time they touch a generator.
Is SBMM back or something?
This is why i've uninstalled the Game (for now). I will come back later, when BHVR has managed to get their MM down^^
I would love to see the Matchmaking getting "buffed" xD

He can be adjusted after the cutoff date.
Thank god. I had this horrible idea in my mind too, that he probably cant get a balance patch after they leave DBD.
Man this is pretty bad for the people, who cannot buy them anymore after they are gone :(

What's up with the increase in sweaty nurses, not to mention nearly 70% of them i see running IF, BBQ and other perks that seem to be irrelevant with the way they play. It's like off rip downing someone and then the scream, slugging, then getting another person down. With a rinse, repeat and loop. I came across like 5 of these > THINGS < Today and I somewhat got progressively annoyed because it was nearly identical with each build. Mind you, i lost every game at either gen 3 or gen 5, there were NO inbetweens.
Frankly, i expected to be more annoyed if not frustrated at the windstorm wraith buff i've heard and experienced first hand which needs a tiny nerf so that they can't ZIP across the map in like 5 seconds. E.G: Downing someone from the other side of the map, hooking/Getting BBQ/Tinker and ziplining it to the other side of the map. It wasn't even funny how fast Spine chill popped off.
Somehow, I can tolerate him since he's actually escapable than the sweaty nurses who use the same offerings over and over for an indoor or open map like Grim Rose or Macmillian estate. Was there some changed i missed or was i just not left in the loop cause this feels like a new meta to me
Bro the Wraith Buff is disgusting for me. Everytime im facing a good Wraith, im often getting rekt xD I hate the forward Launch of the Wraith when he uncloaks. This is so hard to get used too as Survivor. I literally have no clue what to do when im out of position. 360s wont work in high Ranks. Idk, i guess im just bad xD
So for the Nurse thing... I pretty much like Nurse Matchups the most. I mean i mained Nurse for more than 6 months. Started on Controller and made it to Rank 5. Then i switched to Pc and made it into the high Red Ranks. Now im a Survivor main. So thats why i like the Nurse Matchup. What i want to say is, you should play Nurse for longer than 1 Month and you will know how you have to play the Mindgames against her. For the most Players Nurse is a pain if they cant get a down before the second Gen is done. I see so many Nurses giving up if they see, they cant get you. So thats why Nurse Matchups are so chill, because with every blink they miss, they get more and more salty and then they make more mistakes.

It is both depending on the skill levels involved.
Beginner? Killer sided. Their goals are much more intuitive than Survivor goals.
Intermediate? Survivor sided. Survivors have more ways to get better at the game initially than Killers do and have more ready access to good perks.
Expert? Killer sided. Once the Killer starts to learn to mind game, single out the weak link(s) of a team, and gets good perks... well they start doing very well. Very very well. Which is how Killer streamers are able to do very large 4k streaks. Also it is very rare to even get 4 expert Survivors on a single team through matchmaking.
Pro? Survivor sided. Even the best killers rarely defeat pro Survivors on comms.
I disagree with your Expert Tier and its killer sided. Did you watch some Rank 1 Killer Mains and how they perform? Basically you could watch SupaAlf and seeing him win in like 90% of the time...If he plays Nurse.
If you now watch other Streamers, which wont play the 3 best Killer of the whole Game, you will see, that the Time preassure is more on the Killer's side which means, its easier for the Survivors to escape.
DBD is Survivor Sided for many reasons. If you want to know more about that, i suggest you to watch thid Video, which will explain many reasons for my opinion:

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/de/discussion/comment/2376124#Comment_2376124
Heyho!

I think the most popular hack is constant survivors aura reading "wallhack". I've met a ton of people who somehow see you from the other side of the map without BBQ or similar perks, who see you behind stones and threes while you never show yourself, etc. Recently I've seen a guy who used BBQ, but was able to see me while I was in a locker literally across the map. When I called him out, he started making up BS about "I just wanted to check a gen or something", even though I never touched that gen he was talking about. There are quite a few cheaters in the game if you count all those "legit" guys who actually try to hide.
So if they "see" you behind Stones or walls, it could be a good headset or they could have a stretched resolution (4:3). So Survivors can see over Objects and Walls. This is nothing new to be honest and its very sad.
So if its only that it could also be a streched resolution.

I get it for survivors but not killer. Like idk if you're being relentlessly bullied and punished for bringing a fun build or trying a new killer you should be allowed to leave and go to the next game.
I know how you feepd about getting bullied and want to dc but that ruins the Game for everyone else.
A good way to deal with it is tab out of the Game and open YouTube or Spotify and turn on a meme Song or relaxing music. Also turn the game volume down to 0. Then jumo back into the Game and chase, get break some pallets in chase... You know - basic stuff. The whole point about that is dont take the Match too serious and maybe take a break after the Match and come back later.
I would love to see a "surrender vote" for Survivors and Killer after like 4 or 5 Minutes of The Game. It should be an activated option, if the Killers has no one on Hook after that timer and for Survivors, if someone is afk and dies early because of it (or DC...). The other Team should get like 20% more Bloodpoints and should be saved from a depip at least. So if the Killer surrenders, Survivors have nothing to be afraid of (rank and bp wise). And they still had a kinda fun match. Same for the Killer side.
I think that would make everything easier. Ofc you could debate about when you can surrender a Match and so on.

I just got out of a game with a Bubba who was rapidly throwing infinite iridescent head hatchets…what the hell?? Two things, how do I report this if I’m on console and the killer is on Steam? And what do you guys think about this? Is this type of cheating going to be more egregious moving forward? What about the hackers who are discreet about their cheating? I swear to you some players have their killers moving as fast a cloaked Wraith without any speed perks, add-on’s, or bloodlust. This is definitely a big down side of cross play. If this continues I may have to stop away from this game for good.
There are 2 Types of Hackers (in pretty much any Game):
1 The "I dont care if i get banned - Full Aimbot, 300 mph Speedhack or whatever" - Hacker
2 The "legit Hacker"
I guess you faced the first Type of Hacker. I saw that hatches spamming Hack before on YouTube and its ridicoulus. I dont know if i would play that Match tbh.
There are also a lot more "legit" Hacker in the Game than you might think. They give themselfes like 1 or 2% extra Movement Speed"-Hack". and other subtile Cheats like always fast vault or such Crap. You shoudl keep your eye way more on that kind of Hacker, as they can be very difficult to spot. I recommend watching one or 2 Videos about that so you can spot them better in the Future and report them to keep the Game clean.
Sadly you cannot do more than report Hackers, but dont Forget to also report them directly to Steam. For that go to their Steam Profile and click on report. So if they wont get banned in DBD, they will get banned on Steam and also cant play anymore!

I have noticed this when i played on the xbox series x. It was very bad and on pc sometimes i have this too (ryzen 7 5800x, rtx 3070; 144 fps, anti aliasing off, wqhd). But on Pc its very rare, that it drops under 120.
I have to say i didnt play it on console for like half a year so the drops might be fixed already, so i dont know if thats still a thing.

BHVR has adopted a game style where everything has a counter and, I am generally a fan of this style of game. Coming from a long history with CCG's, everything should have a counter.
That being said, I think it's time for a Perk that counters Invisibilty to an extent. My thought is something like "Third Eye" perk for Survivors. Revealing Killers who are invisible but, also revealing yourself to the Killer.
What do you guys think? Currently, it would only really counter 3 possibly 4 Killers in the game at the trade off of revealing yourself to an Invisible Killer. This could open the door to more "Ghostie" type Invisible Killers as well if we have a proper counter for it.
Spine Chill? Flashlight?

Here's one of the chases that shows how he starts throwing knives at the bottom of a set of steps and the chases me around the corner as he is running faster than me chucking knives:
Thats hard to tell because we cant see him in comparison to your movement speed. I guess it was legit tho.
But besides that: Holy Cow! How fast did he down you...???

Moin,

Any advice for better aiming is welcome
I played Trickster on Console and on PC and i have to say he is easier to handle on Console. There is less recoil on Console, or at least it felt like that. Just push your thumb stick slightly down to compensate the vertical recoil and then aim left or right. Its as simple as that.
-
Tunneling and Camping on the Hook is part of the Game. Survivors got some Anti tunnel/camping Perks and mechanics to prevent that from being successfully used by a Killer.
There is BT, DS and some other (kinda non meta) perks which can help. You can also fake the u hook, take a hit and then unhook the Survivor. A better Version of that is take a hit and try to bait the Killer away from the Hook, so other Survivors can safely unhook.
In most cases (if you have at least 2 Friends with you), there is little to no chance for the Killer to make hook Camping work, if you are prepared for that scenario.
If its a Basement Bubba or a Oneshot killer:
Rush Gens and escape ASAP, there is not much you can do about it and chances are high you will get downed too. Good swfs let their mate die and move on to the next match.
-
@onemind said:

Just dont play Trickster. I know, my comment will probably not help you that much, but you will have a way better time without the Depipster. Unless you want to derank, i would probably choose other Killers.
You should try Deathslinger or Huntress, they are pretty fun i can tell. Deathslinger is easy to play and you can do a 360 Quickscope! You can also fake a Quickscope and bait Dead Hard x) It's so much fun if you got his meta Perks.

it seems like im almost there but not pulling it off in most situations. is the yellow flashlight bad or does the timing just gotta be perfect?
- down the Survivor
- pretend to pick up the Survivor. Look down with your head and if youre playing Killers like Demo, who can fake the grab, press CTRL but dont finish the Animation (for a portal ir whatever). This way you can fake a Grab.
- A wild Survivor appeared!
- Quickly turn around and smack her/him.
- repeat if he/she stays nearby. After like 2-4 Times of Faking just grab the downed Survivor and make sure to look towards a Wall or a big Rock! You could also spin around like doing a 360 before the Grab to confuse the Bunny Feng with her Flashlight!
- Profit.
You really dont need Franklins but you can take it with you, if 3 or 4 Flashlight got picked.
-
Perk:
Scavenger: You can pick up Items of Survivors! If you collect the Item of a Survivor, you will gain 2/3/4% additional Movement speed if you look in the Survivor's direction, which dropped the Item. Lasts for 60 Seconds. 80/70/60 Seconds cooldown and only once per Item.
Does not stack with similar Effects.

No? His buff should be that Survivors have to remove knives manually, one by one. That will give him some slowdown and map pressure, somewhat similar to Legion
This sounds a little broken but its a nice idea if its not too strong. Maybe they could it balance like its a deep wound state or something in that direction.

And how you want to buff that in his kit? Giving him Freddy Teleport? xD

He offers no counterplay during a chase. You cannot outplay him in a meaningful or punishing way. However, he continues to lose games despite being extremely oppressive in chases.
He cannot receive any buffs, lest we send him into real old Legion territory. That's why Legion himself hasn't received any changes despite being the weakest Killer at high levels.
Basically, in layman's terms, his design is bad and leaves him in a precarious state where he cannot be buffed and will remain unfun.
Sprintboost, Breaking Line of Sight.
Also avoid getting chased by hiding (use stealth cosmetics and maybe iron will).
His biggest weakness are large maps with lots of objects and tiles. He has little to no map preassure. Thats why he loses many matches.

To be completely honest, it's not like Stridor Spirit was that popular in the first place (in my experience).
Well thats because swf is op. Spirit is an easily accessable Killer with a strong Power, which is also able to handle OP-Tier Swf Teams. Nurse is also able to provide that but she is incredible hard to play, while a Survivor doesn't need as much Skill and nerves to play as a Nurse. So Killers would rather pick a Spirit instead of a Nurse. It's as simple as that.
Now that Spirit is out of the way, only SupaAlf can stop Op Tier Swfs. Just a little Joke, but swfs (which are not average in Skill) are a big Problem imo. Tbh i would 100% agree with those nerfs if swf didnt exist.
But now i guess they need to nerf Spirit a little more. -10% Movement speed while phasing, an animation when she's phasing and her Ring Addon should be removed. It will fix every Problem for Survivors, so they will have a blast when playing against her :^) /sarcasm off

We definetly need a fix for that big issue on BHVR's List for high priority Targets.

So you could uncap your game fps from 120 fps to unlimited by changing it in GameUserSettings.ini and Engine.ini.
I still have those settings but are not being applied when starting the game.
For those who have a monitor with a higher refresh rate than 120 kinda sucks (including me)
I would love if you could uncap them again.. Please BHVR :)
Uhm... I think it still works...?

I agree with your opinion that Swf is too strong right now...but i dont feel like this would be the best way to balance swf.
I think a SWF Stop for 1 or 2 days a weed would hurt some Streamers and Content Creators and it would lead to a huge Gap amongst the Players.
Lets say Thursday and Friday would be SWF-Free Days, then on those days, you would have many Killers that would play the Game and only on those Days. But there wouldnt be as many Survivors like usually, because they cant play with their friends.
I guess this could lead into a chaotic Matchmaking on certain days/times.

What's wrong with the Trickster? Our Team just got destroyed by a good one.

killer op in the high ranks and troubled in the red ranks? but are you sure you play dbd?
i said killer is op in low ranks and swf is op in high ranks/red ranks.

Your example:
Survivor A : 976
Survivor B: 1100
Survior C: 734
Survivor D: 1490
Killer: 1075
Still sounds a lot better than survivors with 3000 hours and killer who got the game yesterday
Skill does Not necessarily refer to the hours played. Survivor D could also have 5k hours, while the Killer could have 1-2k hours or even less. Or Survivor C could have 2k Hours, while Survivor D could have 6k hours.
As i said the hidden MMR does not refer to the Total Time spent playing.

I think you blissfully missed the sentence "problem of the RANK BASED matchmaking and the mechanic of widening the matching parameters with longer queue times".
And the picture only shows me either exactly what I said above or a swf using a rank 11 to fool the matchmaking that is in use right now.
I can show some of my lobbies if You want that show the mess of mm we have right now but i am finishing work right now and am on mobile and would have to black out the names.
I pretty much dont care about Queue Times. This might disturb some Players but i guess most people would rather wait 2 Minutes longer and play a truly balanced Match, than wait 1 Minute for a Match and having a bad experience.
Yes, i know about the Matchmaking right now and believe me when i say, i also would love to see a change but i cant imagine how a SBMM could make it better. I bought Cold War and this Game is a mess because of SBMM. Having some bad vibes about SBMM as many other Players too.
In my initial Post i delivered a possible fix to the balance issues. I mean this has to be done before BHVR introduces SBMM. I am sure SBMM wont work without what i said in my initial Post. (Just scroll down on my Post). Also Dowsey said that too and i believe this is the Key to a truly balanced Game/Matchmaking.

Example killer has skill of 10
Vs team Alpha: everyone has skill of 9 (total 36)
Or vs team Beta, 3 guys have skill of 12 and a guy has skill 4 (total of 40)
Killer has far higher chance to win over Beta if hes luckily found the guy skill of 4 first.
Not necessarily. The 1 "unskilled" Player most likely will sit on a Gen 24/7 and hide if the Killer is near. Also if this is in an SWF Scenario, The other 3 Players will call out where the Killer is going, so the Killer wont find the unskilled Player or maybe not fast enough and Gens will Pop fast. If he is going for the other 3 Players, which have more experience in your example, then he will waste also a bunch of time because the Survivor are more experienced in Loops and wasting Time, which the Killer is not prepared for. Also you have to think about those 3 better Survivors: 1 or 2 will offer themselves as bait to the Killer and waste so much Time.
Chances are good, this will be an easy loss (at least for the Killer).
