Every killer is viable at red ranks, because most of the players in red ranks play like yellows.
NO THEY ARE NOT.
Stop lying.
How the hell is trapper viable at red ranks especially against SWF? The weakest killer in the game.
-
I guess survivors just don't like a challenge and are fine with weak killers

Yep, that pallet bug and survivors never being able to stun killers and constantly getting hit through pallets sure was dealt with immediately...oh wait.
What about all those Spirit complaints? The Devs definitely took their side and immediately nerfed her into the ground...wait, they didn't do that either did they? Darn.
Ooh! I know one! Remember how people have been complaining about Deathslinger for a year? He's had so many nerfs that he's unplayab- wait nope that didn't happen either.
If spirit gets nerfed then your survivor main queue times will be 2 hours long.
BHVR isn't that stupid to completely kill their game by nerfing 1 of the 2 viable killers at red ranks

It was not Dead Hard, it was Lithe. You dont even know which Perk it was, but are still talking nonsense.
Every Killer is viable in Red Ranks.
trapper is not viable at red ranks
There is absolutely no ######### way trapper is viable at red, the M1 killer that has to collect his power and they are easily disarmable.

Nope, you are the problem. I have seen you play, you are not good. I wrote what you do wrong, and even 4 Solos will beat you easily if you try to mindgame safe Pallets.
But yeah, stay in your dream world.
Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh except I did ######### mind game that safe pallet.
They were going to die but because of dead hard (crutch perk) and how buggy aim assist was I bumped into a wall.
I don't know why people are telling me off for mindgaming a safe pallet when it literally worked. He vaulted over because of my mindgame. ######### am I suppose to do? Kick the pallet and have him run to the exit?
You do know myers is ranked D tier right? Can't compete in red ranks like nurse and spirit.

jfc next thing you know is that tony is gonna complain about killers not being 3rd person and survivors 1st person for the “horror”
tony doesn’t let anything go and it’s starting to become more irritating than amusing
Uh what?
See here's the thing killers almost always have "killer vision" in the movies. you can see their POV.
Survivors are always in third person EXCEPT when hiding in lockers and stuff like that, then it's first person POV.
This is a horror game with classic horror tropes. Being in lockers would be much scarier and fits the immersion of this game.

And then you will still lose the majority of your games. Not playing against SWFs does not make you stop trying to mindgame super-safe Pallets or losing people right in the open, because you are not able to track them. You are the reason why you lose games.
Let alone that there is 0 reason for them to disable SWF, because they already are able to get Data from games played where all 4 players are solo, since this is already happening.
I do fine against solos, SWF is the problem
-
@DoritoHead said:
I think it would help the scary atmosphere of the game that is at the moment just not there, however Head On should give the extra benefit of a third - person view.
So first person view normally
but with head-on you get third person locked 90 degree horizontal view

im going to be honest. swfs = killers 2021/ killer>>>solos 2021.
the new match making suppose to save the day for this case.
so far the killers have above 50% winrate which means that they are stronger than survivors overall.(some of them have 70+% winrate).
even in games like csgo or league you will only find individual of players out of milions that would actually have 70% winrate.
asking for more buffs to killers is kinda absurd dont u think? do you know if you buff killers the game will be ruined for everybody?(there will be no more solo players)
its already nearly unplayable for solo/new players because of toxic killers that are everywhere now. and truly strong killers wont complain about survivors being too op, because really good killers can do 50streaks with no much issues, just like otz and many others did.
believe me if you keep playing and play on both sides, with time you will come to agree with what i have said here. the game right now is balanced. some killers are weaker than others but u cannot buff them because they can be too op. and its too risky to buff those kinds of killers like trickster and doc etc.
think about the solo players community and not just the swfs. because killers got buffed a lot, the increase in swfs came as well, people are fed up with solos and then they invite others to join them because killers give them bad time, it goes both ways. but i believe the game right now is balanced for everybody.
nerf SWF
or
buff killers and solos
it's the only way

You are just not good at the game without any learning curve. Just accept that and have fun with your limited abilities and dont care too much about balance of topics which you dont understand.
Much better than just opening a Rant Thread every few hours. The game is not as imbalanced as some people claim.
I'd like to see BVHR disable SWF for a day and survivors now have to adjust playing solo.
But that's a learning curve SWF doesn't want to learn.

hard to feel scared of killers when SWF tbags them because the killer is so weak and can't do anything against coordinated teams.

This game isn’t scary and never will be. First person locker would just be frustrating instead since it would be hard to use the perks associated with them
Guess you never played against jumpscare mirror myers.
-
Anyways let's forget about head-on for a second.
First person view (or locked 90 degree horizontal view) would greatly enhance the horror atmosphere with this game and could add more fun to the game.
I assume there will be balancing to this to compensate but for the sake of the argument first person lockers makes a lot of sense gameplay wise and horror wise.
-
@Phasmamain said:

We shouldn’t nerf perks that are already kinda gimmicky and weak. We need to buff perks so that people actually use other perks
What you said about the horror aspect isn’t really important. Gameplay comes first and having a first person locker view would only add to the list of reasons to never use them
Head-on is not weak with SWF. There is no counterplay to SWF abusing head-on. I'm guaranteed to lose every single chase.
Head-on is only gimmicky and weak to solos.
next you'll say balanced landing is gimmicky and weak but forget to mention how strong it is with haddonfield.

If locker builds get nerfed more People will run Dead hard and DS. Do you want more people to do that?
Bro 90% of my games are 3-4 survivors using DH and DS.
Oh no the number will jump to 95%? What's the difference?
At least DS and DH have more counterplay than head-on troll builds.

@DoomedMind said:
Head-on zero counterplay ? My lord, the only times I got Head-On-ed is when a friend of the chased guy was waiting in a locker.
Actually, my good sir, if SWF are doing H-on plays, it means at least two people are doing nothing : the guy you chase, and the guy that is waiting in a locker. Plus the stun is not that long.
And if you can't bait one surv you saw goes in a locker... Be careful. Also, the survivor has to wait 3 seconds in a locker to activate Head-On. 3 seconds, it's long, you see him goes in a locker ? Immediately grab him.
your counterplay sounds good on paper but 4 player SWF with comms makes the counterplay much harder and near impossible.
And so 2 players are abusing head-on while the other 2 are doing gens.
K I'll go find the survivors doing gens. I'll chase them, they'll bait me to a locker I'll get head-on'd, Meanwhile 2 other survivors are back on gens.
K I'll ignore that and go to the 4th survivor doing a gen. I'll chase them, they'll bait me to a locker I'll get head-on'd. Meanwhile 2 other survivors are back on gens.
So what am I suppose to do? Avoid every single locker in the game and every single loop that includes lockers?
-
@Seraphor said:
"Head-on is a perk with zero counterplay."
This is blatantly false. You need to play both roles dude, and if you're going to complain about a certain perk, use it yourself first.
I was almost going to agree with this, and in principle it does make a ton of sense. But I can also imagine how clunky the camera transition would be, and when you're in a chase or something, that kind of disorientation is going to be horrendous.
"Literally the only counterplay killers have for head-on right now is ignore the locker completely or try to bait you out of it which is super risky and the hitbox is glitchy sometimes. It doesn't feel immersive at all and feels like poorly optimized gameplay."
Many games I've had there are 2 trolling survivors with head-on.
I chase a survivor, they bait me to a locker. Their friend uses head-on.
I lose the chase.
So either I continue chasing the same survivor I was chasing before, while their friend waits for head-on to be useful again. Then bait me into another locker and get head-on'd
Or
I chase the survivor that just recently head-on'd me only for him to bait me to a locker where the survivor I chased previously uses head-on.
So now I pretty much have to avoid every single locker in the damn ######### game (impossible on the silent hill map) and can't commit to any chases because they keep baiting me to lockers
It's not fun. There is no counterplay to this #########. What am I suppose to do just wait till crows appear on the locker? 2-3 gens will pop by the time that happens.
A solo using head-on that's perfectly fine. A coordinated SWF group trolling with head-on and it's a complete nightmare and it's very unfun.
-
@DragonMasterDarren said:
Honestly would like it, but it would make using Head-On borderline impossible
Head-on is a perk with zero counterplay for killers. It's also not a fun perk when going against SWF abusing it.
If a killer could sneak up by a locker and open it really fast that would effectively counter head-on. Of course the killer would have to know the survivor is in there first. There is still a chance the survivor can open it before the killer does, triggering head-on.
There could be improvements to head on like something similar to spinechill when the icon lights up if the killer is looking at you while inside the locker within 5-10 meters.
Literally the only counterplay killers have for head-on right now is ignore the locker completely or try to bait you out of it which is super risky and the hitbox is glitchy sometimes. It doesn't feel immersive at all and feels like poorly optimized gameplay.
-
@Phasmamain said:
It would make locker juking perks much harder to use. Do we really want to discourage a more fun chasing build?

Tournaments, mostly, where killers that aren't Nurse and Spirit struggle immensely as the survivors there are coordinated and incredibly good. Hag gets her Web destroyed as soon as she picks someone up, Blight is good but can be looped kinda, Pyramid Head gets rushed to oblivion, etc. Nurse and Spirit aren't on Struggle Street so they're seen as the only 2 viable killers.
Except the majority of the game isn't competitive but hey who cares about logic it's time to complain.
get to red ranks and the entire game is a sweat fest with only 2 viable killers

Swf isn't even that strong it's survivors separating on gens that make them strong , the gens go too quick and unless you slug you probably won't 4k but that's just the reality of playing at high ranks in what the devs have said themselves was a casual game not meant for esports so what do you expect? Survivors to start on the ground? I'm seriously waiting for you to make that thread I think you're the chosen one tony
No I expect killers to be buffed to be able to compete against SWF

question: are we talking about red rank SWF or tournament SWF? because there is a world of difference between them both.
against red rank SWF, every killer is viable. every killer can get 4ks. against tournament SWF, only 2/3 are truly viable, with some others chilling on Struggle Street.
but, how often do you face these tournament SWFs? from watching your VODs- not just the one that got posted but more of them because i was genuinely curious about how you play + the teams you face- it doesn't seem to be all too often. if the game was balanced around this highly-competitive nature, the majority of casual players would struggle. badly. both killers and survivors.
the best way to do it is to balance around good rank 1 players. not the best, not the worst, but good, casual players. this would obviously cause imbalance when pushed to the extremes but the best way to make the game balanced without gutting it is to make it balanced for good casual players.
also giving solos the same info as SWF then superbuffing killers + their mechanics. that'd be nice bhvr.
balancing the game around rank 20 survivors is allowing SWF to steam roll killers.
it's not healthy
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
wow it's almost like the massive power disparity between killers like trapper and killers like nurse contribute to the significant balance issues this game has been dealing with since launch-
wait, lord_tony post, my bad. forgot common sense wasn't allowed here.
buff solos, buff killers.
btw how's ash's lithe going for you?
the problem is all killers must be viable.
and yet killers like trapper and trickster exist to be so laughably weak.
How can killers compete with SWF?
SWF can't complain there is only nurse and spirit killers because it's not our fault they are the only 2 viable killers
-
they just trying to falsify stats so BHVR thinks wraith is good and will nerf him

Instaheals? You mean an anti-haemorrhagic syringe? That's not instant, it takes 16 seconds. And they did nerf brand new parts like 2-3 years ago.
Iri Axe -heads were insane. Huntress's hit-box is already the size of a mac-truck, and she can often somehow get you around corners. No Killer should be able to one-shot down from half a map away.
how about tapping the heal button and then getting an endurance effect.
that's bullshit that survivors can do that
-
@RenTheCat said:
I find it funny how they don't nerf keys or instaheals or brand new parts but somehow an extremely rare and expensive addon for the huntress that almost nobody uses and if they do it's because they had to grind A LOT gets nerfed immediatly.

yeah it's kind of messed up that killers get the nerfs first for everything.

excuse me ######### killer is far from easy.
let's talk about your crutch perks, DS, BT, IW, DH and unbreakable. They are so unbelievably crutch perks these are the most used perks on all 4 survivors.
-
down for the 5th perk slot, anything to help against SWF with comms
-
@Mandy said:
I think having a 5th Perk slot would be an absolute balancing nightmare personally. Plus some perks would probably need to be nerfed as run in a massive group of them could make things incredibly overpowered.
I'd also say, that in order to keep the balance you'd have to give Survivors the same extra perk - and again, that could make for some horrifically strong builds.
It's very very rare to see an unbeatable SWF squad, I've had one in months. And many, many killers play in Red Ranks (although imo Rank is not important as it's pretty much playtime) and regularly 4k their matches regardless of what killer character they are playing. We have plenty of killers on this forum who main characters other than Spirit or Nurse (and stream their games, yes I do stalk your channels :) ), Clown, Legion etc and they do incredibly well with those characters when others might not consider them "viable".
The truth of the matter is, if you're good with a character you will do well with them. I am absolutely awful with Nurse for example and can't land a decent blink because I don't put the time into her that I would need to, but I love M1 killers and do very well playing Wraith (even before his lil buff). They just suit my playstyle well. There's also players such as Scorpionz who's an absolutely incredible Pig main (also plays a lot of other killers) and is permanently red ranks and permanently does well in his matches - giving him an extra perk slot would be a yikes, as he demolishes now...without slowdown perks as well.
I think what a lot of people don't appreciate about DbD is that there is a learning curve on both sides.
but survivors already have an "extra perk" it's called comms
Killers can't compete with that kind of advantage survivors have
-

Red rank kill rate with rank-based matchmaking has been ~70% for years. At high rank all killers are viable and almost all of them are actually overperforming.
If you feel that very high skill matches are survivor-sided, though, that's totally possible. Still, there probably won't be any good data out there to support or contradict this until MMR is live and performing well. It's also entirely irrelevant in public matches so long as matchmaking is rank-based.
trapper is viable and over performing?
lol k

No one said they weren't, but countering SWF with OP things on the killer side isn't the way to fix things.
What we need is to buff Solo queue to be equal to them, and then buff killers to compensate. Preferably in the same patch.

How do you pressure gens with swf in chase? You don't
