I think you are highly overestimating bhvr's coding capability lol

They don't even have a way to record games on their end to ban hackers like most pvp games have. We don't even have the feature ingame to replay matches and you think they could make a system that tracks previous games to change thousands of peoples mmr from games that are already over?

....yeah, you do have a really good point. on paper it does sound like a great idea, and in practice it likely would be if the company who owns the game had any knowledge of video games or coding

  • @FeelsBadMan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2561224#Comment_2561224

And what about if someone gets tunneled out of the game early and doesn't watch the rest of the game cause why should they? How would this person get an mmr rating from this match if he doesn't wait for the endgame results (gens done, chase time etc.) cause if his mmr just lowers cause he died first, we have the same situation we have rn with the current mmr.

why would he need to stay in the match to see the endgame results? the server sees the match results when it ends and alters his MMR accordingly. MMR isn't such a massively urgent thing it has to be updated every second, it can wait a few minutes

  • @FeelsBadMan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2561108#Comment_2561108

And how do you want to do that with ppl who DC or die before the match is over and leave to hop into the next game?

If those people don't wait for the previous match to be over, how would that effect their mmr? This suggestion would simply never work.

if one guy DCs then it should lower the influence penalties have on MMR for the rest of the match, i.e. dying should lower your MMR a lot less after a DC because it's not showing your lack of skill when a teammate just leaves

They chose a poor name that's true

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2561193#Comment_2561193

If it would go by hookstates and you keep facing worse and worse survivors by facecamping it would reward you.

Right now if you get tons if kills by facecamping you eventually face survivors who know how to deal with it and you either change your strategy or be content with the 1 or 2 k you're getting each game

nah, either you're lying or you don't understand how it works, but either way you're wrong

higher MMR = higher skill level, which you said yourself, if the facecamping bubba increases his MMR then he's fighting survivors who are better.

if MMR wasn't an indication of skill, then how would this theoretical killer ever face better survivors when his MMR rose? he wouldn't.

Not really, different sound volume, different height and different visibility.

I main Jeff, so I don't care about any of those things, I want to get chased.

But if you wanna be stealthy, you would probably play Ace for sound, or Feng for height.

I play other survivors only when forced by challenges.

Still, if that matters to you, you can just pick 1 survivor who you think is "best" and you still have no incentive to play any of the others.

Also I'm a Jeff main too, I really love his mad max berserker outfit. And he looks like me IRL, so that's a plus.

  • @Sonzaishinai said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2561119#Comment_2561119

And why is it bad that a facecamping Bubba goes up in mmr?

If a facecamping killer goes down in mmr they'll keep facing survivors that don't know how to deal with it. You are just rewarding their behaviour at that point.

After a while low mmr is just going to be infested by those kind of players and good luck getting out of low mmr as a survivor then.

It's good that a facecamping bubba who gets more then 1 kill goes up in mmr and eventually starts facing survivors who know how to deal with facecamping.

Then the person facecamping might think to adjust their playstyle. They never will if you just give them less experienced survivors against who facecamping works.

Ya'll seriously need to stop thinking mmr is there to stroke peoples ego. It's not an indication of skill. It never was. It's just there so by avarage you'll win about as much as you'll lose. No matter how you play

it's not an indication of skill

SKILL-based matchmaking would like a word with you

I think this type of play should be more rewarding than camping or just escaping. Mb not everyone but players will run away if camping/face camping becomes meta. It gets boring very fast.

sure, but basing it off of actual hooking makes it so your MMR really isn't in your hands, you rely on the survivors to save at opportune times so that you can actually get that many hooks rather than ragequitting or just not saving anyone

  • @R2k said:

Not a single game has MMR per character. It's not worth investing so much in so little. This is not gonna happen.

uhh, this game already does have that.

As I said before, that system is bad and force killers into babysitting survivors, which I just don't like. Survivors don't need to do it anymore. They can just escape after 5 minutes, so why should killer do it?

It would fix my loop hole for lowering MMR on some killers tho, where I just play for dead hook everyone, show them I can kill them to assert some dominance and then let them leave.

That's why I like separate MMR for killers. I can create killers with high MMR when I want hard games for training and I can have easy games when I just wanna chill and play with meme builds.

also the seperate MMR for killers is really annoying because of how they decided if you had 1 good killer then every killer should start in astronomically high MMR and you have to go through a bunch of matches to get them back to a playable level that is actually appropriate to your skill

nah I'm saying hook STAGES, so if you down everyone in the first 30 seconds and hook them all, that's 4 hooks but that's 12 hook stages, you see?

so if you hook 10 people, that's 2 kills, and if you facecamp 2 guys out of the game, that's also 2 kills, but it's 6 hook stages and therefore worse than 10 hook stages

  • @R2k said:

And what's wrong with it? Want to climb Mmr- git gud. I mean actually good and not because u face camp survivors or afk untill your teammates open gates or bring keys.

Current system sucks. It doesn't show how good are players, it's only shows they understand how to abuse it. Difference between 2 hook face camping Bubba and 10 hook Bubba currently is 0.

i could see this if it was hook STAGES, so if you get 8 hooks, everyone hooked twice, it's not the same as a game where you just afk, which it currently is

The game is globally total garbage. The game design is flawed to a point i don't understand how some features, map, perks are still in the game.

Honestly, at that point, i would really like to discuss with the chief game designer to see how the ######### he/she could have validated so much bullshit into one single game.

    • Half the maps are completely survivor sided to a point you can't do anything as a killer when you face a competent team : 0 line of sight, buildings, pallets, windows, objects everywhere
    • Some perks are broken and have too much a game changer power : Noed, Devour hope for exemple
    • Hex regressing perks are useless and are cleansed in 30 seconds at a fairly good mmr
    • Fact that survivors can all equip full meta perks is dumb and unbalance the game even more
    • Aim assist on PC that ######### your aim up half the time
    • Survivors' items are broken aswell, unbalancing the game from 70/30 to 90/10

Atm i'm learning nurse. I'm terrible with her and so i'm bad everytime in any circumstances but it allows me to clearly constate the game's flaws, especially because i'm so bad that everything is exacerbated. Some feqtures are here for years now, unfixed even though we have asked the devs to fix their damn game.

What i saw is that killer queues are now instant no matter the time you play while as a survivor you have to wait for 10 minutes (EU region). It shows how the killer playerbase is massively quitting.

Also, their 50% kill rate is bullshit. I have a 50% kill rate, i get stomped one trial with 0k to 1k then i stomp the whole team the next one with 3k to 4k. Every trials i play are totally unbalanced and unfun but averaging them makes it look "balanced" on the paper.

With DbD we are far, far, really far from the quality standard fixed by Valorant, Counter Strike, L4D, old Battlefield etc...

    valorant

    quality standard

    idk about that one

    @Zozzy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2561112#Comment_2561112

Depends on your mmr. You are only just learning nurse meaning your mmr is low. Survivors are compacted at the low ranks because they have no reason to get better, and surviving is optional for their gameplay since most just want chases and to make saves etc.

Killer will kill survivors by just playing normally. They have no other objectives or reason for playing so are concentrated at higher mmr making q times longer the higher you go.

not necessarily true, if one of your killers had high MMR at MMR launch then they decided every single killer should be astronomically high

apparently being a good wraith means i'm an insane huntress and pinhead (killers i've barely touched)

  • @Dino7281 said:

You have explained killer MMR here:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2550621#Comment_2550621

I think survivor MMR should be affected by team results -> how many gens they did, how many escapes they had and game duration.

Killer MMR is good, but it works only if survivor MMR is correct.

so are you saying that with most 2Ks, the killer SHOULD theoretically have no change or a small change?

  • @Squirrel_Thicc said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2561090#Comment_2561090

Most streamers I've seen say the game is killer sided are insanely good hardcore killer mains who stomp most of their enemies. They're good at killer so they think everyone else is too for some reason lol.

I don't think I've ever seen a good player say the game was killer-sided, personally.

  • @Starr43 said:

I would love to see camaraderie pause the timer if 2 survivors were running it and both hooked side by side in the basement lol. I’ve never scene this scenario but I don’t think it would work anyway.

Technically it doesn't specify anything about the survivor's state, it just says they have to exist, so that might actually work. It would only last 34 seconds, but it would be really funny.

  • @Squirrel_Thicc said:

Anyone with any game sense can see the game is objectively survivor sided. Anyone who said or continues to say the game isn't is blinded by their own skill at killer.

Or their own skill at survivor, really.

  • @DemonDaddy said:

If she gets a nerf we will all know it's over survivor complaints cause data bhvr is using shows otherwise

I'm pretty sure they specifically said something about how even though she has the lowest kill rate they don't want to buff her. If you judge only from those stats, she's obviously the worst killer in the entire game. But we know that isn't true, she's just hard, and people who are bad at her drag the average down.

    @Kira4Evr said:

Wait, people complain about Nurse now...? Oh come on, why? There's literally nothing wrong with her.

I just have one thing to say to people who complain about Nurse... git gud T^T

Well, there's definitely at least one thing wrong with her, and that's the random bugs. The other day I played Nurse and got a bug where I tried to blink and it just made the blink sound like every half-second and I couldn't blink at all for a while, really very annoying.

  • @Aneurysm said:

Sluzzy I'm disappointed in you. You keep focusing on wraith but as a true survivor advocate you should know that -all- killers are overpowered! Except nurse, who should be 115 speed with 69 blinks at base.

Imagine if you could have 69 blinks in practice mode/bots though? (which obviously doesn't really exist yet, but y'know)

That would be neat just to screw around with.

  • You don't. You run a different build, or you get roflstomped.

As is the case with most killer perks.

  • SBMM mostly just pairs killers with survivor teams of vastly higher skill level, it's not really a very good system in any way.

  • I just play 1 survivor I really like because why would I play more than one? They're all the same mechanically.

  • @ad19970 said:

Hey, if you find slugging not unfun to go against, that's fine, that's your opinion. But the general opinion is that being slugged is just not fun. Of course the occasional slug is not a problem for most people, it's the 3 or 4 man slugs before hooking a survivor.

I think it's unfun in particular because it never really progresses the killers objective, or it only does that in an incredibly slow way, but it constantly means survivors have no breathing time, healing a slugged survivor takes a bit unlike unhooking a survivor, and in general a slug fest can make matches last very long, and just become boring because you are just constantly trying to pick each other up, and every once and a while, repair a bit of a gen. Meanwhile the chase gameplay can fall a bit short in comparison, which is arguably the most fun part about DBD.

But yeah, the reason that their are barely any perks aiding this playstyle is that most people do not enjoy going against a slugging killer.

"it constantly means survivors have no breathing time"

    1. That's kind of the killer's job, isn't it? To make sure you have no breathing time?
    2. Sounds like the shoe's on the other foot then, since most of the time it's the killer who has no breathing time and has to scurry around like a rat trying to scratch a few hooks together. Killers are supposed to be the power role, after all.
  • @Zeon_99 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2558278#Comment_2558278

Because killers were already saying that they were going to run it when Boons come out since it'll be insane slowdown and you can interrupt blessings. Since survivors wouldn't like it, Devs nerfed it immediately.

yeah honestly this community tends to be a little extreme with their views getting really mad when the devs nerf something, but honestly this one is just sad, the perk wasn't really even that good to begin with but apparently it has to see no play at all or else it's too good

it's like nerfing babysitter or cruel limits, like bro these are perks you should be BUFFING because nobody runs them

    My worst happened this month.

Played three games with spirit and I guess that is all it took to reach the unwinnable level with her. Getting mmr points with killer is too easy🙄

Matching feng costumes in lobby...decided to play (unfortunately). Got looped all game after 4th gen popped with 1 hook just went to the basement and phased to get deviousness up.

Fengs all decided to sacrifice themselves to the entity...I get brutal killer and mmr goes up. Their mmr goes down. Next game was normal...got 2 hooks this time.

Following game 2 bills and 2 davids same story get looped got 4 hooks...had to try to slug no good. I open the gate and stare at the wall. All 4 sacrifice themselves again and brutal killer. My mmr goes up again I guess yay (back 4 blood calling my name).

It would be nice to get a working system but you know variables right?

My best was looping a killer for 4 gens in the same month (I died in the end but made them work for it).

So how about your sbmm stories as either survivor or killer?

if they're killing themselves every match that means their mmr is probably fairly low, so I'd guess it's not that your mmr is too high but that they've rigged theirs to get lower than it should be

Second I'm not playing on pc so spare me of ur bullshi* about not playing killer that's biggest argument killer mains bring up when someone calls out bs play

And again I can use reverse card on you seems like u never played survivor u said if I put effort I would escaped sweetie if ur team is doing nothing and just running away from Myers and being scared u won't be able to do anything on ur own otherwise this game would be 1vs1 not 4vs1

honestly if you haven't realized you're wrong in 3 pages, nobody is getting through to you

from the rest of the stuff you've said in this thread i honestly doubt you did as much as you claim

you didn't even dispute my claim that you've never played killer because you know it's true lmfao, it's a valid argument because if you'd ever played you'd know how much effort it is and how insanely long it takes for double iri myers to get to tier 3.

i've probably played more survivor than you've even played in general, i've been playing since 2016.

people don't play myers if they really want to win, let alone double iri myers. Lmao

also lol? you said he was clearly doing it for the achievement because he wouldn't hook you but secretly he was doing it because he wanted to win? get your story straight dude, come on.

As I said this matters how? Adds to story what? Idc what was his intention I'm not his puppet to do what he wants to or for example bringing my teammate to me who was on floor so she can pick me up so that he can grab me no sweetie we aren't here to help u we are here to play

it matters because you've been wrong about basically every single thing you've said in this entire thread lmfao

you can be all "omg i'm not ur puppet i do what i want!!!" but then you don't get to complain about YOUR OWN CHOICE to grief him and sit in a locker for an hour. you had already lost, you know that, the only difference is you lose in 10 minutes or 60 minutes, and you willingly chose to waste your own time for no reason.

also the fact that "no sweetie" is even part of your vocabulary speaks volumes.

  • keep in mind they have to sit in the locker for 3 seconds before it can stun you, so if you watch them go into the locker you can snatch them out real quick

  • imagine feeding the killer his tier 3, not doing any gens, holding the game hostage for an hour and then babyraging on the forums thinking it's the killer's fault. LMAO

    @justbecause said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2560225#Comment_2560225

Is pressing spacebar for stalking effort? Is pressing m1 to hit or repairs gen effort? Is playing this game effort?

bruh it's M2 not spacebar, that comment alone shows you've never played killer in your life (or at least not myers)

you were the one originally complaining that if he killed you it would be "zero effort", yet if you had put in any effort you would've escaped by the time he got tier 3.

  • A killer like that would be badass if it could somehow be pulled off, but I can't think of a way it would ever be balanced. Either it'd annihilate soloQ or get roflstomped by SWF, likely both.

  • ITT: absolutely nobody reads the actual post, creates baseless assumptions based on something they imagined

And guess what? People would absolutely believe you, the same way they believe this one. It's just realistic enough for people to buy into it/think it's real and get mad about it.

Yeah, I definitely haven't seen Dead Hard used effectively. Can't wait to figure out how to teleport to a window or pallet and regenerate a health state!

Then again, I really like using Sprint Burst, which teleports you 3 times further than Dead Hard and makes the Killer break off you and go after the survivor with Dead Hard.

maybe one day you'll have any idea what you're talking about but until then trying to explain it to you is apparently pointless.

  • @Munqaxus said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2558367#Comment_2558367

I have yet to see any data showing that Dead Hard gives you more looping time than Sprint Burst, Lithe or Balanced Landing. In fact, I suspect just the opposite since it only gives you 1 second of movement speed whereas all the others give you 3 seconds. I think the i-frames balances out the other 2 seconds of movement speed. Plus, it's more risk/reward than the other ones, since you have to time it very precisely to get it's full effect.

i don't think I really need to say anything else, I think you've already made it clear you've never seen a person use dead hard effectively even once. dead hard is not for dodging, dead hard is for teleporting to the next pallet/window when you would get hit and essentially regenerating a health state for free. the amount of time it lasts is completely irrelevant, it's not really the same as sprint burst or balanced landing.

I stayed rank 1 every time before mmr changed and still get matched now with pretty decent survivors. Still can get 3ks. Again, 4 kills every single game isn't my goal. And I can give you my gt to prove I'm a killer main. Again, survivors deserve counters to slugging, camping and tunneling. Don't like it? Don't do those things. I slugged end game on a game the other day. That survivor had unbreakable and got up and opened a door and got out. The other one went out the hatch becauae he was a head of me. I didn't cry and cry. It was what it was.

dude, rank is meaningless and the devs have literally said as much, because all it does is measure playtime and it has very little correlation with skill. why do you think they added sbmm?

    @Munqaxus said:

You don't know who is high or low MMR. You don't know if the streamer you are watching is Top MMR or just a mid range MMR. Just because someone plays a lot does not make them a high MMR. Just because someone streams doesn't make the a high MMR. You just don't have that information to use it in your arguments.

For all you know, the person you are speaking to is high MMR.

you can absolutely get at least a reasonable gauge of someone's MMR seeing what type of survivors they're playing against, it's like night and day. do you actually play this game?

Clown only hinders survivors by mere 15%, while Pinhead's chains almost makes the survivor stop in place. I'm not saying his chains are super good, because they definitely could use buffs, but he's not even close to being a worse Clown.

clown doesn't stand completely still to slow down the survivor and forfeit most or all of the distance by default, clown doesn't have to really aim, the slow lingers (and it blurs your vision) whereas the chains get snapped, and clown's slow doesn't get broken by objects or literally the killer himself, so yeah clown's is definitely better

I think it's rather telling that meta perks are the Developers response to Killer-strategies that didn't have counters before.

    • Decisive Strike - Anti-camping/Anti-tunneling
    • Borrowed Time - Anti-camping/Anti-tunneling
    • Unbreakable - Anti-Slugging

Seems like the Developers see an issue with these specific strategies and are putting counter-measures into place to prevent them. Notice how the Developers keep adding counter-measures against those specific strategies such as Baby-Sitter and Soul Guard

and Dead Hard is a counter-measure to what, killers hitting you? that's a really toxic strategy for sure

  • oh wow, I didn't even realize they slipped in the "no more notifications" part, that's really lame

the perk was already not very good, idk why they'd remove that

  • @PigMainBigBrain said:

You should probably play more hours then, its still an SWF staple build. And it would still delete a killers power. Its like having a perk that automatically removes pig head traps at the press of a button......just no....

firstly, nobody who actually wants to win runs no mither

and more importantly, it doesn't matter if Oni can't get his power if everyone is running No Mither, because his power is for instant downing you and he can already do that by just hitting you because you're perma-injured lmaooo

  • yeah, they saw clown's bottles and they were like "wouldn't it be funny if you had to stand completely still while charging this, then aim and fire like deathslinger, and even if you hit you accomplish basically nothing?"

like if you miss it's an utter catastrophe, because half the time the chain flies off into another timezone forcing you to stand still while it does so

but even if you hit, you spent so much time standing still that the slow is fairly pointless

we literally had this exact same problem with Clown and how he slowed himself while throwing the bottle, and they were like "wouldn't it be funny if we took that and it was worse"

  • It's rather telling that all the best meta perks are just free health states in one way or another. DS, BT, UB, DH, Adrenaline, they all rewind to a better timeline where that hit didn't happen.

Most of these perks are at least moderately balanced by only triggering once per match (Adrenaline IMO is not really much of a problem, it's just Bizarro NOED and most of the time you win too hard for it to matter or die before it activates), but Dead Hard is maddening in that you get to do it every 40 seconds and can easily get multiple free chase extensions where you otherwise would've got hit, just for free, and the perk has been completely untouched for nearly 5 years.

  • Really simple answer, an imbalanced competitive game is not fun.

I mean, survivors were doing gens, correct? As long as that happened, you are fine. If they refused to, you would be holding the game hostage.

how is it the killer's fault if the survivors won't do gens?

  • I was talking to someone in endgame and they said their friend was "out of town", and "town" got censored.

True. You’re right in that, ghostface (and Myers) whole problem is that they get spotted quickly but I feel it’s because of premonition and spine chill. Why not just make it weaker on stealth killers or immune to it in general

(like how calm spirit makes survivors immune to being revealed with screaming)

Undetectable killers already ARE immune to Premonition. I don't think anyone actually uses that perk.

  • Yeah, the good ol' "slow someone down with clown bottles but completely throw the game and cure them and speed them up with the antidote". It's sad to think that even made it to Live.

  • Switch to PC, easy fix ;)

  • Agonizing, horrible experience so far.

Tried to play Trapper for a daily and I may as well have been AFK for most of the match with how little impact anything I did had in that match. Every trap gets disarmed pretty much immediately, everyone knows their loops, Dead hard/BT/DS/Adrenaline + Flashlight gaming, that kind of thing.

  • Stand on the lock of the hatch and they can't use it.

It used to reduce the effects of multiple status effects. They removed its effect on every status effect except exhaustion and didn't even increase the %-values even though the perk came into the game when exhaustion went away whilst running (and 33% more quickly whilst crouching) which is why Vigil has the low %-values in the first place.

The wiki says it still affects Blindness, Exhausted, Haemorrhage, and Hindered.

They removed it affecting Mangled because Mangled now always lasts until healed, so it would be meaningless for it to affect that status.

However it now persists 15 seconds when friends are out of range.

From the wiki's patch notes, the perk has only been buffed (albeit very slightly).

Or you could match the ranks. Or look at the points relative to the title. Many different clues!

The points not necessarily, he could've just noticed the killer got more than 32k and posted about it.

You can also tell from the killer name and level on the far right.
