as a killer i tend to drag the game out to punish the other survivors. sorry not sorry.
to punish them for what lmfao, do you think they're a hive mind?

It's only annoying when it ruins a challenge I was doing, which isn't very often.
Usually it's just funny.

why do you think that?

Why do people make nerf threads without suggesting compensating buffs? I understand they're not necessary every time but these threads always come across as "I don't like X so they should get rid of it".
because that is exactly what this thread is, lmfao, "I lost a game and the killer was using these perks so these perks must be OP"
certainly not the first and definitely not the last

Because our dear devs release perks without cool downs during last chapters and think thats okay .There is no compensation for perks without balance that are abused each match .
Well of course they think it's okay, that's because it is. Lmao

Knight should really just be able to tap CTRL or something to swap between his guards on command, that would be a decent boon to his power level and a much bigger one to his QoL.
The Mark of the Jailer charm states he's a "tireless pursuer, exhausting his prey", but he's... really not.
Maybe they should give him extra chase length (maybe somewhere between assassin and carnifex) and he Exhausts his target for the length of the chase + 5 seconds (like Fearmonger)?
And maybe Carnifex can get a little bit of extra movespeed, but not more than Assassin of course
-
They're probably grinding shards for the new chapter or fragments for this rift.
Anyone AFKing is obviously going to drop in MMR because they aren't killing anyone, if you're meeting a lot of AFK killers you are probably at low MMR, so thank them for an opportunity to boost it a little higher with your free escape.

Why is basekit BT still active in eng game collapse? why can they still do body blocks while being totally safe from BT when off the record and decisive strike is turned off? why is it fair?
Shouldn't it be completely disabled? if all you have is a hook next to the exit and they do a unhook it's gg they won, why's that?
Basekit BT should not be a thing in EGC UNLESS they actually use the perk.
I figure because BT lasts like 10 seconds and DS and OTR last 60+ seconds.

@Sillymare said:
You can also nullify it by using a killer with a teleport or high speed movement ability by hanging out of the 32 meter radius wait for unhook and then rush in. Granted this won't work out well if it's near gate
Borrowed Time hasn't worked based on terror radius for like 2 years.

if making survivors blind was good enough then you would see it run lmao, I can't think of a time I've ever seen someone run third seal in my entire life.

Self care is the worst example you could of gave. It affects a single person that instantly makes it worse But heals slower than coh, you need 2 perks to make it decent

Even for a most likely bait they wanted to make it so "one perk isnt the go to compared to others" while making eruption only worth using on highly mobile killers.
even on highly mobile killers I think it still isn't very good lol, remember you not only have to be kicking generators, but the survivors have to be currently working on one you kicked at the moment you get a down for it to do anything

Literally putting them in deep wound cancels endurance. It's like you guys want to tunnel for free and with 0 consequence
if you're hitting someone a full minute after the unhook it's really debatable at that point if it even is tunneling, also your recommendation to counter the anti-tunnel perk is to tunnel harder and allow it to activate lmfao
-
@antag0nisticw0mble said:
I see all these complaints about dead hard being too good. It has a 40s cooldown, It's easily countered if you use your brain, several killer addons counter it by immediately placing survivors in deep wound, Most meta killer perks require 0 thought or skill to use, atm all I see is either aura stacking or gen kick meta stacking + pain res.
If you want to talk about a nerf why don't we talk about knights minions having no cooldown.
and eruption had a 30 second cooldown lmao, so I guess eruption was fine too?
there are literally 3 killer addons in the entire game that apply deep wound lmfao what
and one of them is a trapper addon and requires the person to actually get trapped and escape lol, and another is a pig addon requiring you to specifically fail a skill check on one of the boxes while injured
i'm sure the survivor meta perks require much more thought and skill to use and that you definitely aren't talking out of your ass lol
also knight's minions... DO have a cooldown, lol. what more do you want? it is quite literally his entire power, if he doesn't have a guard up he's just an M1 killer, and even if they removed his cooldowns he would most likely be mediocre at best.

Its not the same thing since you can’t really counter eruption if you’re not on comms. Theres no way to know/ anticipate if a killer has or not so this argument doesn’t really work.
you can see who is currently in chase and who is injured, it's up to you to figure it out from there, just the same as the killer can see you're injured
if you think eruption is impossible to counter even with that, you must think dead hard is too :)

It didnt work as a counterargument, because unlike the killer in a chase with a dead hard user, a solo survivor on a gen has no knowledge on when to wait it out. The fact that you dont know the difference seems to say all about how usefull a discussion with you about dbd balance is.
not really true anymore when with the new HUD you can see when a survivor is in chase and when they're injured lol

I mean, it doesn't work as a counterargument because it's stupid as #########. Eruption incapacitates them from doing gens and... do you want them to counter that by not doing gens at all? If that's what people think, I guess the Eruption brain is a real disease.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3342138#Comment_3342138
It would only work on a lunge/power and on low latency on top of that. There's no validation anymore on DH. Try it on reaction on central EU server and you'll go down mid-animation in 3/4 of your trials, because 3/4 the killers are Russians lagging like there’s no tomorrow.
Dead hard screws the killer for chasing survivors and... do you want them to counter that by not chasing survivors at all? If that's what people think, I guess the Dead Hard brain is a real disease.

its not that difficult? It is beyond difficult to time a DH against a non-lunge attack. This is based on human reaction times vs the time to complete the attack. This DH is useless in deadzones unless you have a brain dead killer. I just finished a match against 4 dead hards. They didn’t land A SINGLE ONE successfully. It’s not hard.

We’re not talking about eruption are we? You can absolutely wait out the dh. You can bait the DH. It’s really not hard.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3341973#Comment_3341973
Sometimes I face slow survivors, sometimes I face the sweatiest of squads. It doesn’t change the way DH works and the human error / latency with its timing. This is just my experience. I do not have any problems with DH, and I usually see 2-4 in every game.
You can "absolutely wait out" Eruption, it got completely gutted anyway; DH absolutely deserves a nerf, it warps the game just as much.

It’s not debatable at all lmao. Old dead hard gave guaranteed value. Not gonna make it to that window or pallet? DH for distance and boom, you’re safe.
Dh is really not that hard to counter now. I’ve seen some of the videos people post in the forums about “DH IS SOOOO BROKEN!!!” and it’s them falling for the same old “I’m gonna run directly into the killer and DH” trick over and over.
Counter in the open - simply wait it out.
Counter at windows - let them dab into the window, or wait for the vaulting animation to start, hit.
Counter at pallets - anticipate them to DH through the pallet if you know they have it. Stop swinging thinking you HAVE to. The amount of downs I get on letting them DH through a pallet then downing them before they can drop is absurd. It does not work if you know the timing.
Something that’s virtually uncounterable is somebody who can properly 99 a sprint burst.
"Simply wait it out" - lmao
That didn't work as a counterargument for Eruption, so it doesn't work for Dead Hard either.

Yeah, I had a survivor do this in ironworks up in that control room with the lockers, they went there to lock all the lockers and got grabbed while I was teleporting (lmao), and I realized they had boil over and there was no hook in the building so I just dropped them and left
No survivor came to heal them the entire match so they just died lmao

you take a perk that needs some help, buff it too much, and then nerf it beyond where it was when it started.
this has happened to thana, and now it's happening to eruption. why? why make eruption worse than the version of it that you yourselves already decided was too weak, and buffed?
what is wrong with moving eruption to 8% of total, and instead of pacifying survivors, it either blocks the generator or inflicts deep wound on injured survivors within 5 meters of the gen?
blocked generator is the same as pacification, but guaranteed. then you can tune the numbers to not be so swingy and discriminatory towards solos vs swfs.
deep wound is the same as pacification, but the survivors decide when to mend, and can counterplay by healing up.
either one is better than aura reading, which is an effect i don't need when my next 10 seconds are going to be picking up the survivor i Just Downed and then carrying them over to a hook. of all the times to have an info perk activate, i desperately don't need it to activate immediately after downing somebody, i would like it to activate while i'm looking for a new target.
just. it's really disappointing to see you guys make the same mistakes over and over again, and it's frustrating to have to deal with the consequences of those mistakes for maybe a year before they get walked back, if they ever do.
just look at thana. it was fine. then it was buffed. then it was too strong, so it got nerfed beyond where it was before, and now noone can use it except plague. is it eruption's turn now? i'm not even sure what the aura reading is going to do or be useful for, to be honest. slugging? i still have a guy to put on the hook at my feet, after all.
please just, take our feedback into account. i'm not even asking for you not to make mistakes, just please listen to us this time. we told you eruption was too strong and would be a problem, now we're telling you it's going to be too weak and unuseable. please trust us.
BHVR has an awful tendency to see something, understand that it's too strong (even if in some cases it's only a bit), and know that they need to nerf it... and then nerf literally every conceivable aspect of it instead of just one thing, so it goes from "seen every game" to "never seen again", because for some reason they can't nerf something only somewhat so that it remains playable, it absolutely has to be eradicated.

Perk most definitely needs to be gutted; as of rn its basically, Pain Res, DMS, and Infectious fright all combined into one perk.
The perk had zero downsides and is easy to use with a very short cooldown, with little to no counterplay. The change BHVR made still offers slowdown but the perk won't be overtuned, especially because killers tend to run multiple slowdowns.
It had no downsides, now it's only downsides.
"Still offers slowdown" - do you think people run pop goes the weasel?? This isn't 2018, that perk was nerfed hard. It does 20% current gen regression - twice as much as Eruption, yet nobody uses it.
Current Eruption is not worth running unless maybe you're trying to slug, and even then it's still bad.

They already nerfed many of survivors meta perks in the last perk rework, including DH.
to even call Dead Hard's rework a nerf is debatable, it's still the best survivor perk, still extremely strong, still a 3rd health state, still has virtually no counterplay when combined with a pallet, etc.
but now you get a hit speedboost off of it lol, so it just has different situations where it excels, but most of them are the same as before, sometimes you even get better results than before.
-
they made Eruption worse than Pop Goes the Weasel and nobody uses that perk, they may as well have removed it from the game entirely lmao
hopefully Dead Hard is next
-
so no, you can't name even one that was introduced in the last patch? lmao
your claim was that the latest patch, a bugfix, introduced more bugs, when it seems to have fixed about 20 and introduced 0.
-
You can see the realm name in the corner, you are currently in it lmao
-
Taking ages to download really isn't BHVR's problem, it's either the place you're downloading it from or (more likely) your internet. They don't pick your download speed lmao.
Can you name any bugs that were introduced in the latest patch, which fixed like 20?
You should get a PC because you can play basically every game ever made on it, usually with improved performance and customization, while also listening to music and doing your taxes, not solely because you want to play DbD.

It's a joke. Also, your original post has apparently had all text stripped from it.
Deathslinger probably isn't getting changed any time soon. He's not tragically weak, and he's not OP either, so the dev team has bigger fish to fry.
I'm sure they might buff him some time in the future, but that also might be in like 3 years, lol. He's a pretty decent killer already, not weak and not oppressive either.

Think of it this way: A plumber with 20 years experience is almost certainly going to be more skilled at plumbing than a plumber who just graduated from trade school and got their license.
What you're arguing flies in the face of common sense and nobody makes this argument outside of video games. Because it's utterly foolish and everyone knows it. The correlation isn't 1:1, nobody's arguing that, but to argue an utter lack of correlation between time played and player skill is nonsense.
I'm not even trying to "learn Huntress," I'm just taking her to P3 and maybe never touching her again. That's got nothing to do with what's going on here.
It's patently absurd on its face that this is the way matchmaking works. Everyone knows MMR doesn't work, and MMR should't even carry between Killers the way it currently does. Several of them play so differently from each other that the baseline player skill set might not even matter from one to the next.
if you're not interested in playing her and you're only prestiging her, then... why are you playing her? lol

Then why did people tunnel less with old BBQ when it works the same way?

Yes, it would be huge to have replays, especially because then you could actually prove if someone was cheating without having to have psionic powers and be recording every single match you play - it would be as simple as sending the replay file to the devs.

Just would be nice a bonus to have some extra fireworks as they are a fun item to bring, even if they are the weakest option for the item slot.

unless you make it a problem by trying to down anyone at any point in the match you mean?

Well, they actually stay in your inventory and you can use them next year, so it's not as offensive as, say, the New Moon Bouquets I've had in my inventory for like 6 years that I can never use.
They shouldn't just automatically convert, in case you wanna save some for next year, you should be able to convert as many as you want into something else or just sell them back or something like that.

Having a chance to escape from getting downed every time that you're injured always seemed odd to me, especially when compared to other perks like DS. Both perks work in the exact same manner. They both require very specific situations, and precise timing to pull off, but unlike DS you can keep using DH over and over. And with there now being base kit UB to coincide with other perks like off the record, makes the need for DH to be multi-use seem rather redundant.
I don't think "being injured" is a "very specific situation" tbh. For most people it happens every game, and it it doesn't, you're totally dominating the killer anyway so you don't need it (and obviously no second chance perk would trigger, you'd have to use your first chance first lol) But yeah, it's a second chance bonus health state perk you can use an infinite amount of times with almost no requirement for activation.
Also, I think you meant BT, not UB.

Even if Dead Hard weren't so strong, it's just incredible annoying to play against - it feels bad to hit into it and it feels bad to "counterplay" it against a decent player who doesn't blow their Dead Hard as soon as you come within 10 meters.
-
He can vault over pallets, yes, but unlike Legion he has a short time where he's basically stunned, and it deactivates his power, so if he wants to do another charge he has to wind up the charge all over again. Depending on the loop, you can use this time to just get to the other side of the pallet, or leave and try to get to another loop.
Also keep in mind he has a 1.5 second windup on his power - he raises his hand to signify he's about to use his power, but there's a delay before he can actually charge. He also has a short cooldown before he can M1 after he lets go of M2. If you're too close, you can try to just run into him to confuse him so he either cancels or misses the charge. As long as you aren't getting hit by the actual charge, you won't get infected, so getting M1'd is always better.
If he grabs you, infected or not, he applies 20 charges of infection to you. At 100 charges you're infected, and you passively gain 0.8/second once he gets you to 20 charges. Therefore, you have 100 seconds, almost 2 minutes, until you're infected if he grabs you once. Each additional grab will knock 25 seconds off this.
Hopefully this helps.
-
If it was actually balanced, chances are it wouldn't be the single most picked perk in the game bar none, in the highest percentage of builds for either side.
-
Yes, words as simple as "town" or "down" (an integral mechanic of the game lol) are censored, it's really dumb

Oh wow that's impressive holding your stealth on that map haha. They must have been blind tbh lol. But honestly nicely done! I can't even do stealth at the best of times lol
I'll be honest, it was most likely more on them than it was on me. They went on a lengthy rant about how they believed Ghostface and Doctor were bs unfun crutch killers because they could "find you so easily" (no, I don't know why they think stealth lets you see through walls)
They were also convinced that I was "crouching the whole game" and they additionally seemed convinced that crouching was how he activated stealth, even after I myself told them it didn't work that way, and went on to tell me that they see killers play without using their power all the time, and those are the people who are actually good at the game because they don't need their killer power as a crutch.
It was pretty insane tbh lmfao

I've played on it a few times and it's just... a mess. It's just so ugly compared to everything else we have. I appreciate that they're trying something different, keeping us on our toes. However, to me, it's not "horror". It's not scary. It's not something that I'd dread going to because theres really nothing that could scare me. For example, a stealth killer couldn't really sneak up on me here because it's so open and so many line of sights. Other fast killers just bump into things. It's a no from me lol.
I do like the occasional multi story "shack" with the ground floor, basement, and upper floor lol. More of that please
You'd be surprised, I played against a streamer on Borgo the other day as Ghostface and they unironically raged about his stealth for like an hour after they were sacrificed.
