I mean if you had any idea what you were doing, it was ACTUALLY impossible to get downed
30+ pallets being the norm, no entity blockers, no bloodlust. Out of all of these, only entity blockers would be introduced later in the year.
Not to mention the majority of main building windows were MUCH stronger. Ironworks didnt have a hole in the wall next to its window and outside there was junk in the way, in the front making it possible to loop it from the left and right. Wretched Shop had 3 windows next to each other, and another window on the other side of the main building. Any of the coldwinds were absolutely busted, since the old wall textures could easily be seen through. Not to mention stronger main buildings and Cow Tree being much longer.
The only killer able to deal with these (of course until Nurse came out) was Trapper. Who took roughly 8 seconds to set down 1 trap which could not only be disarmed faster, but also permanently sabotaged using either a toolbox, or Saboteur.
Oh but wait, Im not done yet. Perks! Sprint Burst having just a 40 second cooldown (was 20 at one point). "But wait, isnt that what it is now?" Well yes but actually no, it gives 40 seconds Exhaustion. Before it was just a flat 40 second cooldown. Self Care healing you in 24 seconds allowed you to heal mid chase, We'll Make It increasing healing speed by 300% and also applying that to self healing. Paired up with Self Care and you could deny a killer a hook by simply standing underneath it since you still had collision after being hit and you could heal yourself faster than the killer could recover from hitting you
On top of all the other broken ######### Survivors had, gens only took 60 seconds to complete with gen kicking not being a thing yet
I could go on about other broken ######### Survivors had, and if youre still not convinced Ill offer you to 1v1, you as killer and me as Survivor on an older build of the game. We'll see how much fun it seems then :)
you can play older builds?

Eh, maybe DC after a hook state has been made.
But if someone DCs at the start of the game, you haven't killed them, and it makes killing the others easier.
I see a lot of ragequits after being downed, I think that should count as well.

The killer stole nothing. You don’t win a match until you escape. Your toxicity cost you the match. You deserved to lose.
I hope all players like you, who think you’re entitled to insult the killer at the end of the round, get constantly match up against sweaty try hard Nurses that slug at 5 gens.
Very true, the match wasn't stolen, it was thrown away.
-
I've been thinking this for years; DCs should absolutely count as sacrifices.
Too many times I've seen people rage quit specifically just to deny the killer that "sacrifice 4 people in basement" challenge, among others.
Kills already don't even always count properly (I was doing the same challenge, and it would count my kills -1, so if I got a 4k it counted 3 kills, and if I got a 1k it counted 0), and this would be some relief from that too.
-
Good God. Your argument is, quite literally, "I just started playing and I want to always escape and I want to be the best NOW NOW NOW".
You literally have a thread complaining about Whispers saying it's broken.
You need to learn how to actually play the game instead of having a tantrum on the forums every time you get sacrificed.
By the way, that sacrifice was 100% deserved. Entirely your fault, do better next time.

As I said, thats the problem with SBMM. I might be going against way better survivors than you, or I am way worse.
Also I could have got 1 hook but I gave up. They would have just 99 the gate, taken hits, and teabagged me.
SBMM and the survivors other players are facing are wholly irrelevant to this conversation. You're playing a strong killer with a strong build and you got 0 hooks. This is a skill issue.

People are going crazy and I don't understand why. The skins aren't going away for ever if that would be the case I would totally understand it but they are just gone till next year and that is a concept that for me at least is totally normal.
Every other game I play does this since forever. Blizz does that with overwatch and hots and even with stuff in wow you can only farm on that specific Holliday. Lol does it too and I always assumed that how it works. You can get the skin while the event lasts and then you have to wait till next year and I don't see how thats fomo because even if you miss out you just have to wait. They are coming back they aren't gone for good. The only thing bhvr should do that I think all the other games do is lower the price for the old skins next year
Blizzard is REALLY not a good example, for really anything honestly
League, a game heavily influenced by Tencent, is shockingly also not a very good example for consumer friendliness.

Your idea of fun is invincibility?
Sure, enjoy your infinites and perk stacks until a killer hits you once and you instantly die from old moris. Lol
-
I can buy a Halloween costume literally any day of the year. It would be utterly ignorant if you could only buy costumes in October.
I'm sure I could buy a Christmas tree any time of year too, they're just a "featured item" around Christmas time.
Not everyone is rich, either; a lot of people don't have the money to simply impulse buy every single skin in the game like you apparently do.

There you go, I don't move a lot in solo q in some situations, I like to blend and hide, bait gens, etc to get killer off teammates. If he can just find exactly where I am with that perk it just breaks the play style and takes no skill whatsoever to actually, you know, find people, which is a killer skill that just goes away with the perks I mentioned.
I really don't think you're quite understanding how Whispers works.
Whispers does not tell the killer "exactly where you are". It literally only tells them you're within 32m, which is the terror radius for most killers. It does not have any auras reading functionality whatsoever. It does not make any notifications whatsoever. All it does is say "hey, there's a survivor on this half of the map, you aren't completely wasting your time right now."

Plus using different perks could actually confuse the Survivors... for the first couple of matches
Why use the same perks if the Survivors are "Gen Rushing"
yeah, but BHVR hasn't done anything to them, so they aren't effective. lol
you use the same perks because they're the best you can use, changing to worse perks isn't going to help the situation

it's literally 2.5 free pops ( or around 4 pain res) and it's not like current slowdown meta is that much weaker with eruption being overtuned.
the amount of damage pop does is incalculable since it's 20% of current progress
pain res, however, is 15% progress
it removes 13.5 seconds of progress, which is more than 10 lol

if you want to counter an effective strategy then why would you use ineffective perks?

About the Knight: yeah, but he is more bugged than usual. Sound bug, power being unusable near objects, chance to increase speed, chance to lose your power for the whole game, VFX from his power becoming pemanent, it's the most bugged killer release since Twins, and two of the bugs are completely game-breaking.
Twins: yeah, but it's a game-breaking bug this time.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3280410#Comment_3280410
When the Nurse had a similar issue, she was kill-switched. Not everyone reads the forums to know of the bug, and a player might try to play and end up being forced to DC or wait for a game to be over just for a bug they didn't know was in the game. Also, it ruins the game for everyone else too, as suddenly there is no gameplay.
And about the Hag: the camera swing from her triggered traps sometimes doesn't work, the same thing happens to her instant hits (you sometimes can't hit immeditaly after you teleport), and you can't immediatly replace a trap after teleporting to it. Not as game-breaking as the other two, but makes playing her harder and less consistent.
Yeah Knight is pretty #########, though they did JUST release a hotfix patching a lot of his issues. I think they actually did fix everything you mentioned, besides maybe the "unusable near objects" part. Though, even if they fix every bug with him, he will probably still not be good. Lol

- knight
at high MMR.

I'm going to just go ahead and drop this real quick for no reason at all:
- His power utilizes three npcs, each with their own speeds, up-times, and skills, but the killer cannot specifically pick the one they want, they have to cycle between whatever's up next, removing any tactical deployment.
- He comes to a full and complete stop when he turns on his power.
- Survivors vanish from his screen as he's using his power.
- Actually drawing out a patrol path takes time and using anything on the fly leaves the guards basically stationary.
- His guards have a delay between when they're deployed, when they appear, when they notice a survivor, and when they actually start moving.
- The survivor can see the spawn-spot where the guard will (eventually) spawn
- Survivors see the radius the guards can detect them at, allowing them to stay 100% safe at all times.
- Survivors move faster than 2 out of 3 of the guards, making it impossible to hit them with the guards unless the survivors run directly into them (despite being able to see where the guards are from a great distance).
- The guards have extremely short uptime AND have a "turn off" button in the form of a banner that can be tapped to instantly dispel the guard.
- If the survivor DOES tap the banner, they gain both Sprint Burst AND Endurance, making them both invulnerable to damage AND lets them get away from any possible repercussions
- The AI on all the guards is exactly as bad as the Nemesis Zombies - a killer released a year and a half ago and STILL not adequately fixed
- If you have one guard deployed, you cannot deploy another guard and there's a delay between when the original guard goes away and when you can deploy the next one. Which kind of makes it COMPLETELY pointless to have three of them and EXTRA absurd that you can't pick which one you're going to deploy.
- His knights make a tremendous amount of noise, broadcasting their presence to all survivors, even if they ignore the visual warnings, and preventing the killer from listening to the survivor noises they need to track.
- The knight can't actually enter his power whenever he wants to, you have to tweak your physical location slightly to be able to enter it, making things even more difficult to do on the fly
survivors aren't actually faster than any of the guards, just that two of the guards only move 2% faster than the survivor, and survivors get such a huge lead when the power is activated, the guards will never catch up.
-
I'm surprised the guards trigger Spirit Fury.

no, this post was specifically a suggestion to make it only work when you're carrying a survivor

The real solution to this problem is to buff solo Q to have communication roughly on-par with a SWF, and then buff killer accordingly so that they can handle SWF (which would in a way be every match).
-
@Malkhrim said:
So currently the Twins, the Hag, and the Knight are bugged? Yikes.

twins is seemingly only bugged on PS5, but then again twins have pretty much been bugged since they released, so...
what is the bug with hag?

@RaSavage42 said:
So... nerfing Gen regression perks is buffing Gen rush???
And what about Corrupt, DMS, Thrilling Tremors and Deadlock???
Dying Light and Thanatophobia???
It's more like Survivors realizing that they are more efficient on Gens rather then completing a Gen then taking a lap around the map... so on and so forth
So no matter what happens with regression perks... it's more like 4V1 being the game
you rarely see people using most of those perks tho, lol
thana is only good on a few killers, I can't think of a time I've ever even seen someone use Dying Light in years, Corrupt is mostly only good on a few killers (which don't really see play, and therefore corrupt doesn't see play), and tremors/deadlock/DMS aren't even regression (neither is Corrupt, but yeah)
-
ruin definitely was, they not only halved the regression speed but also made it snuff itself when someone dies, which was not even necessary since it's generally cleansed by that point anyway.

The players that really need to be brought out behind the shed are the petulant killers that DEMAND MORE PENALTIES so they can keep getting their easy 4ks. How selfish and self centered does one have to be to not have considered any of the threads that survivors have made about how unbalanced and unfair solo play is and has been since 6.1. If someone is going to blatantly ignore the valid reasons why survivors quit games and just stomp their little feet to MAKE IT STOP DEVS!!!! BAN THEM!! HURT THEM! They have nothing but my pity and contempt. The game is broken and terrible for a majority of the players but all you can do is think about your own easy game. I CANT COMPLETELY DESTROY ALL 4 SURVIVORS ANYMORE because THEY QUIT!. NO FAIR!!!! Seriously. You people need to get a grip and some class, empathy and sportsmanship while you’re at it.
uhh... Wat?
DC penalties are not going to help killers win. Quite the opposite, in fact, because when a survivor DCs their team gets totally screwed.
Who is calling for bans and violence in this thread? Nobody but you? Weird.

but if they did move around first and then quit as soon as they see the killer thats definitly a rage quit.

fun is viewed diffrently, BHVR tries to balance things out but there will always be miserable rounds, for both sides. If that is something you cant take and quit all the time because you can abuse low penalties then you need to get into some other game, dbd is obviously not for you. The penalties are gone atm and lowered for pc and look what happens? the game is unplayable because people like you abuse that fact to quit over every oh so slight inconvienience.
thats why we need penalties. And we need them back ASAP.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3280422#Comment_3280422
it robbs the killer off of his hook sacrifice which can screw with challenges. Its a pitty behaviour in denying the well earned hook because they take a game too personal. They dont care about the points in that case.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3280423#Comment_3280423
last weekend when i played we also had a trickster and i was duo swfing with my friend, we had one rage DC as soon as they got down. Ofc the trickster kept playing normal cause why not? its not his fault and he probably wanted those points, maybe had even a challenge. I surrendered but he proceeded to give me a halloween toolbox that was laying on the ground and let me escape with it through hatch. Idk why people hate on trickster so mutch, good ones can spray you with their knives like hell but i dont see where the issiue is. Is nowhere near annoying as onis one hit power or thombstone myers. or a facecamping bubba.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3280445#Comment_3280445
well right now everyone does ragequit because of the most stupid and willy nilly reason, even if they think the grass on mcmillian isnt green enough smh. Thats why i dont play DBD anymore until we got the penalties back, its worse than after the 6.0.1 update.
if you just got death hooked, it doesn't even rob the killer of a sacrifice, because it still counts you as sacrificed because you were literally mid-death
on the other hand, I played several matches as survivor today and I think every one had someone ragequitting near the start of the match

I wanted to say "just let them touch your banner", but lol, you are right ^_- BTW, Clown Bottles make this challenge pretty trivial, too. Actually you need to damage a hasty survivor, so I am not that sure if hook camping actually works, with the basekit BT being in effect.
Camping does not work, I tested it on an AFK survivor and got 0 progress.

The killer I ran into found everyone almost instantly I'd say, we're talking two story maps and knowing exactly where they are from across the map. It's a handicap ability, a participation trophy ability.
Whispers is not good enough for that. If you had ever used it in your life, you would not have even made this thread.
They were probably running a different perk to give them aura reading. Whispers is practically useless on a two-story map, in The Game it's active for basically the entire match and as such gives you absolutely no information, it doesn't even let you know what floor the survivors are on because it largely ignores any verticality.
-
@Veinslay said:
I can't use a long patrol route during a chase cause I get disoriented easily and lose track of the survivor. Not being able to see the survivor while making a route seems like too much. Also it would be nice not having to hit the attack button to direct them to kick a gen or break a pallet. If you end the patrol selecting that object, they should just break it. It's cumbersome pressing another button and it's not always responsive so it won't take and they end up not breaking the thing im trying to get them to all while i'm losing distance in chase
i have the opposite problem, sometimes my guard will just decide he wants to break something before i even get to click the button
-
I've been seeing a lot of DCs too, I had two different matches today with 3 DCs.
What astonishes me is people will ragequit when they just got hooked for the 3rd time, it does nothing except rob them of all their points and occasionally it actually gives the killer a few extra
-
The censor is complete and total dogshit, this is true.
I've had it censor integral game mechanics, like perk names, character names, downs, kills, etc. many times. It makes communication in endgame chat almost impossible, when it decides to, which is about 30% of the time. Then you have to play charades, like "the thing that happens when the killer hits you and you fall on the floor", and then watch half of that sentence get censored for no reason too.
-
i don't see why they would need to killswitch the twins for something that only affects the person who chooses to play the twins (which is nobody, by the way)
you can just not play the twins, there's no reason to FORCE you to not play the twins
it's not like The Knight where you can get like triple movespeed, which somehow even that doesn't get him killswitched
-
he was so mad about this happening to him in a match that he made an account just to post about it, and I think that's funny.
-
yes, it's very annoying looking at his stuff in the store while he's just constantly screaming
not to mention annoying to look at weapons when he keeps putting them away to get the kanobo out
similarly it's almost pointless to shop for weapons for the Spirit because she'll never show you what they look like lol

IMO there's always been a problem with this game where, if you wan to understand what's going on, you have to close the game and either read a wiki or have a streamer explain it to you. There are always a bunch of weird technicalities to everything and often you have no opportunity to know about them just from playing because it will be something like, "When you're in your power, the survivors hear an audio cue but you don't hear it."
why do you have to close the game to get on your browser?

Yes, another post about how broken nurse is. Because how can devs think she's justified when EVERY (And I mean every) round I play against her leads to at-least 2 first hook suicides or DC's and no more than 2 gens being completed max when people don't leave immediately and actually try. She's unplayable in her current state and needs work, why won't devs listen to people? And why do they think she's balanced when her kill rate is only low because likely 60-70% of her rounds have DC's so aren't included? Anyone can master her and garuntee a 3k-4k after a few hours of playing her, especially with broken perks like eruption.
imagine actually using eruption on nurse lol
if you're a good nurse you aren't stopping for that long to kick generators
her kill rate is statistically low because she is hard, and people who are bad at her play her and 0k
BHVR has acknowledged this more than once

Unpopular opinion: There should really be a cap of some sort
similar to how survivors can bring multiple exhaustion perks but can’t stack them
there should be something similar put in place for certain slow down perks e.g Call of Brine, Eruption, Overcharge, Pain res ect
Maybe make it so when kicking a gen only 1 regression perks effect will take place, or if a gen is already regressing via Eruption then it can’t be damaged again with perks like Jolt or Pain res until the regression stops
yes, i can't think of any killers where you actually want that much slowdown, you gotta have information perks and/or chase perks too so you can actually get hooks instead of just making the game take longer

There's nothing special about Knight's camping. When the unhook happens, the guard despawns. It's a built-in countermeasure. His camping also comes nowhere near Leatherface's or Myers'. So what's the big idea?
exactly, unhooking makes the guard disintegrate, camping as knight is not much better than camping as any one else and doesn't even slightly compare to camping as Leatherface
