The Game is always the best map for Killers. The gens are very close together and If the Surviors bone themselves they are sandwich downstairs or up stairs..One, lets the Killer make sure they have no proper way of escaping (downstairs) and one is so open that It gives easy gen control (upstairs)
But all pallets are super safe...
-
The spawns are pretty consistent, the map is small, you can protect gens very well, has mindgamable loops

I know how to play against oni...lead him to my teammates and run away as he downs them. Then hide and self care. Right? /s
Fun but that's what noob survivors do. Stay out of his terror radius so Infectious Fright does not work all, and if he comes listen to his loud footsteps and try to hide

Just get a hit and farm the survivor forcing him to vault a pallet/window several times or get two hits on different survivors. If you're struggling on getting hits I suggest you improve on your regular killer skill.
"But what if they drop all god pallets" if a survivor is dropping too much pallets then you should drop chase him and try to get a hit on somebody else. Monitor & Abuse is great for this. Besides that, if a survivor is dropping all the pallets at the early game it means you won't have to worry about them when you have your power and the game will be easy.
If the syringe heals in less than 10 seconds you'll get 4 blood orbs, or 6 with add on. You'll reach 60/70 % of you ability and now you need another hit. Very difficult in my opinion

That's 3 objects. False advertisement. I want my money back.
One item, two add ons.

Play safe, throw down pallets immediately

What a waste of a green Med Kit and Add-Ons. The green Med Kit gives you 1 heal and you take away 8 Charges wlth the green Add-on.
I'd rather use Gel Dressing, hit a great skillcheck so I can heal 2 times and then use my syringe.
Good if oni leaves you. If he doesn't the medkit is still wasted using the syringe
-
I play Sally, I don't play spirit or huntress, at least now

@Altarf said:
You're giving him another potential hit on a healthy survivor without having to leave the chase. This doesn't "counter him". Even if it did, he could just leave the chase and nothing has changed.
If you want a real counter to Oni, try OoO or Spine Chill.
@Bwsted said:
Oni is countered like this: don't greed pallets.
That's it.
Your 'counter' just gives him a chance to get his power even faster.
@AhoyWolf said:
I don't see a problem, if you get healed in front of him and he hits you again you give him his power faster.
In which way? Is it more difficult to get a first hit, leave that survivor, and then get another first hit on a completely new survivor, or farm the blood from that survivor? The second, right? Syringe is similar to the first: 2 first hits against potentially really strong survivors.

This doesn't exactly address the OP, but it's on-topic, and I felt there should be a concise explanation of where we feel camping sits in the game.
It's up to Survivors to punish camping. When I camp, if nobody comes for the rescue, I stop because I'm losing ground. But when they come running, even if they don't rush the hook and just hang around and they're not repairing while the one on the hook is dying, I'm still profiting.
It is true that the Emblem system does not look favorably upon camping... but the best way to stop it to not to reward it.
I know all the arguments and counter arguments about it; I've heard them over and over. :)
One of DbD's core values is "player agency". We want players to have as much input on what happens in matches as possible. Eliminating camping as a strategy removes choice from both the Killer and the Survivors; it limits gameplay possibilities. Deciding to do gens instead of rescuing the one being camped is a moral decision: choosing the good of the many over the good of the one. Sometimes, the Survivors choose the good of the one over the good of the many; when they do, they often suffer dire consequences. But all of that arises from player choice.
I will not say "camping is good gameplay in DbD" as many construe my comments to mean. But the possibility, the choice leading to it, and the choices it requires Survivors to make are all part of what makes the game great: player agency. Removing those choices only reduces the range of decisions to make, which isn't good in the long run.
We have experimented extensively with anti-camping measures. In the end, the result was always that the camper just camped harder, or we had to break fundamental systems to accomodate the anti-camping measure.
I agree, nothing to say

Do you know how difficult it is to get 2 first hits with a loud, tall, m1 killer before his ability? Just how strong can immediately throwing down the god pallet can be?

Is this fair?

Also, why is deathslinger banned in other DBD tournaments? I haven't even heard of any where he's banned but I wanna know why.
thanks

Wow it's a decisive victory for Haddonfield

There's more to game design than just "what I think is cool". It's a discipline that requires careful systemic thought about everything you put into the game. Being able to maintain a live game's design over time is just as important as putting cool things in. It's both possible and necessary to do both.
Agree, nothing to say

Probably not a good idea to post a video of the game designer and make fun of him. This is one of the reasons why the devs stopped being active on the forums

This is correct. As long as HHL affected some powers and not others, we'd have to make an independent judgement on every new mechanic involving a skill check. If you allow that kind of design, the number of perks that need individual judgements as you add more features slowly grows. It's not maintainable. You want as few exceptions in your design as possible. This is also why Kindred lost its "trumps all Killer stealth abilities".
Good, that's the official reason now, thank for the response Enthan!
Some sort of big idea of design is good but the perk still needs some buffs, it's too weak at the moment
-
Agree, keep not attacking him on a personal level, otherwise the post will get blocked

it was changed to be consistent, 2 killers have extra skill checks, id didn't affect the pigs so it shouldn't have affected doctors, that said it was also a bit of a buff because the hex no longer reveals itself until you get your first stack
It doesn't matter, the moment your receive the first stack the killer still needs 4 hooks more to get to 5, and 1 hook less before the alert is not so super. Cool, but nothing for a hex perk

Balancing for lower ranks matters more than some people realize. If something ends up being miserable to play against in a lower-skilled environment, it can very much push people away.
You have a point. But the question is: how difficult is it actually? Controller players can do it, bad keyboards too.
Also, most important: once you know doctor has it, just look at all the screen.
Is it so difficult for newer players? This is the debate

Honestly can´t decide whether to pick Haddonfield or Disturbed Ward, both are incredibly survivor sided and very hard not to escape on.
Disturbed ward has 2 infinites ( god loops) and 2 + shack god pallets, haddonfield has none but insanely good buildings

I'm personally voting Mother's Dwelling because it's one of the few maps where as Hag I can't do a decent set of traps. Each gen is in a corner of the map ( one near shack, one opposite angle to shack always, 2 in the remaining angles. ) , one always in the main building, hard to reach as hag, 2 + traps to waste for the gen and the windows + the gen has multiple places to fall into so you can't trap the way out;
With no add ons I can't even teleport to some traps because they're too far away, and it happens very rarely as hag luckily

Pop is insane with Tinkerer. You get the notification, walk over, get a free down, then pop the gen and get another tinkerer.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/UBMBWC1MCBDR/capture-png.png
This build was pretty nutty the few times I have run it so far.
Maybe a little less strong than ruin undying but it's also uncounterable and can't be taken away from you.
Surge? Ehhh, kinda weak. I think Oppression is straight up better since it's map-wide and you are basically kicking 4 gens at the same time. I guess you could run it if you are lazy and don't want to kick gens but I find pop to be the most satisfying gen regression perk to use.
Nope, you won't get a free down, and many gens have a window or a pallet near, or high visibility to counter tinkerer
-
@Pig_Is_Pog said:
What’s everyone’s thoughts on surge? do you think they should decrease the cooldown? increase the Progress loss?
Curious on what everyone thinks :D
1 With Billy, Huntress, Bubba, Pig Dashes, Demo, Pyramid, Blight, Oni, Victor the perk doesn't work, it's useless unless you don't want to use your ability.
2 It's less than 8 seconds, basically nothing.
3 Survivors will stay on the gens, they won't go down to 0, especially that slow, I promise
4 32 meters is nothing, too small.
5 40 seconds cooldown
But maybe has potential, who knows

His base cooldown is the same, though. His add-ons were just nerfed because they were very strong before. His base kit is very similar to before, just with the possibility of overheating now, but overheating when you're not using engravings is not usually an issue.
The fact of not being possible to reduce the cooldown is drastic, takes away a lot of momentum

It's fine to think he was balanced before, but this video is not evidence to support that.
I've said my piece on Billy; I think people are overreacting to the changes. He's still good. I wasn't aware that they changed the curving mechanic at all or increased the cooldown after a chainsaw hit - can you link me that? The wiki has nothing on it and I don't see anything in the 4.1.0 patch notes.
You clearly don't play billy or know how hard it can be to get a chainsaw hit. But let's talk of ideas not people. The cooldown not can't be reduced (no add ons), it is different from what it used to be, tuned carburettor doesn't count for fast charge, or mother's pillows.
3 seconds of full cooldown is now, before with Thompson mix and tuning guide was 2,2 seconds, I counted the seconds. Much faster

People would literally let the killer hit them while camping a pallet to get the free stun and "collect the ds" immediately after the pallet break animation never allowing the killer to pick them up. Killers would get DS'd all game by every survivor for no reason.
Basically

That's become the thing now. Ever since The Ghostbusters reboot creators learned they can erase any negative comment/review by calling that person toxic. If someone doesn't say anything positive about their product they delete it to give off the impression it is perfect.

@[Deleted User] said:
I'm not sure what this video is supposed to prove. It's titled "Busted Billy" and shows a player destroying a survivor team at five gens. Is that meant to show that Billy was in a balanced state before?
I don't like some of Billy's new add-ons and I do think that Behaviour could have done a better job with them. Still, nerfing his charge time add-ons in particular was a good change in my opinion. As for overheating, it's a mechanic that I only rarely find myself fighting against when I play Billy. The one clear exception is if I'm running engravings, so I rarely run those now.
Billy is still an above average killer and can make extremely good use of the Ruin/Undying/Tinkerer meta, especially with the Apex Muffler. I don't think he's in a bad place now at all.
It was balanced before, these were just bad survivors. The cooldown of the chainsaw was shorter, so you had to leave the gen before billy was right on your back. Tuning guide + Thompson mix made the cooldown of the chainsaw acceptable, so cutting distance was actually a viable thing. You still couldn't mouse 1 or do anything for 2 seconds, but you could start moving immediately basically. Now what? Trash add ons not consistent, overheat mechanic for no reason ( no good survivors will get downed in less than 30 seconds or get all slugged so "huh overheat mechanic or billy op) never ever, even in dead zones you could force billy to m1 and waste ton of time to split pressure; curving mechanic nerfed; cooldown after a chainsaw hit also slower, all nerfed.
-
@Pior_Morte said:
The add-ons rework was great, gave him a lot of interesting add-ons and nerfed the insta-charge billy, some add-ons changes are questionable (why Junkyard Air Filter better than Pighouse Gloves? Why does the Tuned Carburetor reduce your speed to 110%?) but overall was great.
But the Overheat Mechanic is awful, absolutely disgusting.
So it's a yes. Btw the tuned carburettor turn you into a 4,4 killer, the worst possible thing ever

Then what is it? If you don't think its the best perk you probably just suck at chases.
Decisive Strike 100%. Prevents you from being tunneled, in total in a match gives 4, perhaps 8 full minutes of invincibility basically. Object is not that useful because what killers must be good at competively is not surprise factor, but map pressure and being quick at 1 vs 1

I've put enough money into the game for cosmetics and stuff. Those cosmetics are worth less than $10 a pop, so that money should be going towards making sure I can play this game on PS4. The money I've put into this game so far hasn't resulted in what I'd call a huge improvement. I'm not sure anything can really fix the damage that moving to dedicated servers did. Some games I'll go for 10 grabs; 9 result in the survivor running away untouched, and 1 actually ends with a survivor on my shoulder. Mikey's EW power bar going backwards, survivors running through Plague's vomit untouched, the survivor getting lost on the ground because they teleported when I downed them... yeah. If I could give a $10 donation to move the game back to P2P hosting, I might consider that. But that'll never happen, so I'm keeping my money.
Well it's respectable, pretending to have something after having ALREADY bought stuff

I agree that this is tunneling. This is another reason people use DS, yet you've done nothing to disprove why your solution wouldn't work; simply because you're being punished (with your solution) because your teammates are special. There's nothing there that's in your control, no way out of that situation, if someone decides to farm you without BT.
A 1 vs 4 can't be balanced because players are misorganised. This is going to get fixed with the MMR system, so the better you play the better your mates will be.
Btw you are still discouraged to farm, you lose points for the pip.
