I am currently being held hostage by a hacker that stopped the end game collapse timer. Ive been gone AFK for now 15 minutes and that hacking nea is still there, wanting to make me disconnect. I can t just DC every time that happens considering the amount of those hackers. BHVR can we PLEASE disable DC penalty if we can't have a proper anti cheat software that does at least a half decent job. I love the game but r n bessides completely quitting I don't see any other option....
Pls BHVR, this even happened to me, multiple times, do something for Dbd's sake

Mm. Let's go point by point, because I agree with...some of this.
- The NFT thing is pretty overblown and is based on a lot of hyperbole, assumptions and gossip. Hell, while I'm not going to get into such a complex topic in detail, the actual science behind 'NFTs are going to destroy the planet' fearmongering (or should I say claustrophobia-ing'?) is...shaky at best and revolves almost entirely around hypotheticals.
- RPD...I'm not sure how survivor sided it actually is. There are some stupidly strong loops, but that's true of a ton of maps. Honestly, I find the map to be just as annoying for survivors as it is for killers. It's just a bad map.
- Yes, the Wraith/Slinger/Cenobite nerfs were silly, but there's nothing new there. At least they finally made Plague fun. Now do Pig and Ghostface.
- CoH needs a nerf, sure - but it's main issue is that it stacks with other healing effects and that boon totems are both too hard to find and too easy to replace. I'm sure it'll get one, at BHVR's usual glacial pace.
- Hackers...I'm not sure what can really be done. The only big name games I can think of offhand without hackers are almost entirely server based. Even massive, full on Esports like Starcraft 2, Fortnite and CS:GO are riddled with hackers, despite extremely expensive proprietary anti-cheats. Game hacking has become so sophisticated that it's very hard to counter. $80 a month will get you a complete hacking suite for basically any game you can name. It...sucks, but I'm not sure if there is an answer.
- Big companies are like ducks. The surface looks calm, but the little legs are going like mad under the water. I'm sure they wanted to get all the info they could before they said anything.
- Why are you upset at more BP? If you want to play VHS, go play VHS. I'll personally be playing it, and I'll also be playing DbD.
- This has nothing to do with 'ethical capitalism' or 'dog-eat-dog' (a much more apropo way of putting that rather than obscure Latin terminology). This is just standard practice - when a competitor comes along, you make your product look more enticing. That's how capitalism works.
- If this thread turns into a 'capitalism versus socialism' thing, I'm going to have to bring out the mori.
Fair enough

I'm sorry that you're disatisfied with decisions that you do not agree with. However, just to reassure you on one point - our calendar is planned months in advance, as was the Bloodhunt.
Ok, I'll believe you Mandy! (For real)
-
The sad thing is that with the previous patch nice buffs came for some killers, but it's just uncomparable to all the negative events that happened/are happening
-
Ok, that's it, you reached a limit point BHVR, you lost my respect at this point, you're gonna have to work very hard to regain reputation after this:
This year was a total disaster:
-Twins chapter completely bugged at launch, with later a nerf to Twins that made them Clunky
-Trickster chapter also very full of bugs
-The scandal of NFTs, which couldn't be your fault contractually, but still it could since we know nothing as always. It took McLean to defend you, and on that I 95% believe him, it's not your fault
-RPD added as a map, completely busted for how but it is and how much it's survivor sided, considering the 2/3 strong window loops, the 2/3 god pallets and all the safe pallets
-Wraith nerfed for no good reason
-Circle of healing added, which completely NEGATES the hit and run playstyle, and the risk of taking bodyblocks. For example you can tank all Hag traps and reheal before she has the time to reset the traps lost
-The most important of all, the hackers situation:
Yesterday, I my region, within 10 matches I faced 3 hackers, actually 4 because 2 were together in a single match. One held me hostage and I had to disconnect.
And these hackers don't get banned even after a month sometimes! Up to less than 10% of the Dbd pc top% population has them! This not counting the stretched res, the audio improvements you can set from the game files, the Blight lag switch, the filters to make the game brighter without increasing the gamma, etc!
And we don't know how many of them are closet cheating, just seeing auras for example, or using a cheating stretched res where you can see over any freaking wall
-Dulcis in fundo, the DDOS BHVR response:
Since the ptb, who knows how many ips get revealed by hackers, and the Dead by Daylight page and Dbd forums took 1 WEEK to advertise us of the hacker attack and to protect ourselves!
You take 1 week to respond to/make aware of the DDos problem, but you INSTANTLY put up a bloodhunt when there's the VHS beta????
That's it Behaviour Interactive, as always you showed that money is the only thing that counts, and that the "ethical capitalism" can't exist, for the "mors tua vita mea" principle.
-
Fine I'd say, a nice addition to the game, a killer where you have to play with sounds

i would argue againts shadow step, add iron will and survivors become virtually invisible, you cant hear them use aura reading perks or chase unless you previously wounded them, and even blood marks arent a reliable way to track survivors.
Quite honestly boons in general are busted and in need of a serious nerf
Lucky break is busted, not shadowstep. The only reason people don't notice it's because nobody uses it, and survivors like to get chased.
Lucky break + iron will is busted imo, especially with a medkit.
In indoor maps with tons of walls, good luck not losing a survivor, and even in outdoor maps you can do nasty stuff.
Even lucky break with the new perk overcome it's gonna be so busted, as killer you're gonna lose a chase every 2, or 2 chases every 3 AT LEAST

Blood pools are a reliable way to track survivors, because if it's a map with grass, then you won't need to use blood pools because you already know where survivors will go, and if it's an indoor maps like Lery's, you can see blood pools perfectly

Maybe he left trash tier, and maybe with his best add ons could be bottom of C tier, but with normal add ons/not ultra rare or very rares, he seems still trash.
The problem with him is survivors following you and disarming all your traps:
With Hag you can counter that, especially since object got nerfed (finally, good job devs on that), placing traps that will specifically get the harassers in your traps.
With Trapper if someone chases you, you can't do anything almost. You can't escape to another place as you can with Hag, putting a threat of a trap being there.
-
63% want it nerfed, this says something devs

i think circle of healing nerf that came with the release to the public was good enough, i used to think boons were a terrible idea but they aren't as bad to go against as i thought and they can be punished if you bring hex ret or haunted
franklins has gotten nerfs and buffs and i think it's fine where it is, franklins used to not deplete charges but instead after the timer destroyed the item and that was annoying if you brought any limited item. now franklins is more fair and isn't game ruining because you can still find your item and escape with it.
It isn't as bad to go against? It completely frees up the need to use medkits/use a teammate/self care/inner healing to heal, allowing the use of just toolboxes with no risk, and it COMPLETELY cancels the hit and run strat, you can just harass tons of Hag's traps, and go reset super fast.
Shadowstep and exponential are completely fine, but circle of healing is FACTUALLY busted

I appreciate your opinions guys, and maybe have a discussion on how much Oni's flick ° should be, the problem here is understanding what the devs think, because they can't simply say something "wasn't supposed to be like it's working atm", and it's removed. Or say "it was a feature not mentioned in the patch notes". It can go either way

Also, with circle of healing you just need 1/2 per survivor in a team, when self care needs every survivor to use it to have/use medkits to have the benefit

You really think all that time investment is really shorter than 16 seconds? And your point about subsequent heals are dependent on the totem still being up.
There are 5 totems, almost always equally distributed around the map, with usually one in the centre.
If the totem is in an angle of the map, and you're there, the killer won't know probably where it is and you'll get a heal out of it. Not much time wasted if you know the totem spots
If the totem is on top of a building, like it can be on ironworks of misery, you'll have to consume more time going up there, but that totem wil never ever get snuffed unless you go there WITH the killer, or get downed there close enough, because the killer going there completely wastes all his pressure
-
@Brokenbones said:
It's called 'Power creep' and it's a real concept among a lot of things like card games and video games alike
A lot of newer content will outshine older content. Funnily enough, DBD doesn't suffer too much from Power Creep since some of the strongest perks are, to this day, still free (Dead Hard, Unbreakable, Adrenaline and so on)
They obviously want people to buy the new shiny content though
Will outshine because the devs didn't think about rebalanced older stuff, which is possible sometimes in seconds just buffing numbers.
There are still perks like this is not happening still being hot garbage
-
@WeenieDog said:
Self healing perks have come to be questioned because of how good med kits + add ons are in general.
Circle of healing is just straight up better than 4 medkits, 100%.
Now instead of 4 medkits, you just need 1/2 circle of healing in a team, and all of you can just use massive toolboxes with tons of charges/keys with blood amber to see the killer. You don't need to worry at all about healing, and if the totem is snuffed...you replace it!
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Do you really save that much time though? In between finding the totem, blessing it, and then healing, how much time have you really saved?
It's the same reason why lucky break still exists, despite shadowstep now in the game.
Lucky break is massively stronger than shadowstep unless you're using no mither, because you still leave blood pools.
if you combine it with iron will, good luck for the killer in indoor maps, and most times it's a free escape even in open maps if you pre path the best escaping route.

or, better yet, inner healing, which is a generic perk now.
I disagree, I think Circle of healing is just stronger.
1 person can have it, and the entire team has infinite healing.
Also, at the start, unless the killer has lethal pursuer if you coordinate, bless a totem, hide corrupt, you just got an advantage just hiding.

The only solution I see to them fixing it in a way you want the powers to work is to just give the survivor i-frames as well as remove collision with the killer.
What do you mean? Dh already gives I frames, and if the killer swings when the survivors in going towards him, the killer goes through the survivor already.
Never ever it's gonna happen that they make dh go through the killer( and survivors) if the killer doesn't lunge, like it would be so much abusable

The survivor bringed the item to use it, not to have it sitting on the ground. How many times do I have to repeat myself, please read the previous comments.
"Not getting hit" how are you expecting a survivor to not get hit all the match?
The third alternative is not a solution because most survivors are playing solo.
The item staying on the ground is a real problem, because a survivor can drop it mid chase just when is sure they're gonna get hit, and then come back to pick it.
As you mentioned solos, it's a problem for them because they can't communicate to drop items on the ground.
At this point Franklin's is just useful on Pinhead, because you can't drop the box.
Edit: even with Stealth killers it doesn't work, because you can just press R at last, and no Franklin's is applied.
(Btw don't use mint rag and rusty shackles with it, it's garbo)
-
I edited the post again to include cases where dh hit validation is just an unfair and hopefully unintended buff
-
No, ruin undying was reliant on LUCK, so it could go in either 2 or 5 totems cleansed.
This RNG should not happen
-
Ok then, rework the perk in another way, BUT given counter to the fact that survivors can just leave the item on the ground and that's it, you can't use Franklin's at all sadly.
There must be a counter to this thing

Nah. It's fair. If you try to hit a target that can't be hit then you miss your hit. The only issue is the tentacle hitting dh instead of a pallet.

You don't lose chases that easily, but that doesn't mean that you'll be in a good position to use it when you activate it. What are you going to do then, wait it out in a single chase and lose gens in the process? The effect is not bad in a vacuum, but IMO you severely underestimate how restricted the perk is by being tied purely to bloodlust.
Fair enough, maybe if used in maps like autohaven maybe you don't get a chance to use it, and since pallets in the centre are almost 50/50s perhaps unrelenting unrelenting could even do a better job at risking swings that if failed give distance to the survivor (again, this on killers like legion/pig/wraith/Myers/Oni (to secure that first hit) where you don't have a chasing power (not Freddy because when they're asleep they don't hear the terror radius so you just have to hide the red stain)), but even on maps like Cowshed where there are a lot of safe pallets other than the jungle gyms, if they don't expect that when you're at a jungle gym, that's a free hit.
-
@Mr_K said:
Ever been chased by a killer when Tinkerer prompts? Not much changes. Chase music pretty much takes the place of the terror radius. Red stain hiding is already widely used so survivors are already adapted to not relying on it.

Yeah, we hear what you're saying.
What we're saying is you're over-rating it - by the metric you just gave, by about 2 stars.
Despite what you seem to think, Terror Radius isn't a primary function in chases from the survivor end. The best part of the Undetectable status is the loss of the red stain, but the reality of the situation is that any and all bloodlust dependence is a technical loss on the part of the killer; it's one of if not the most counterable mechanic in the game, on top of requiring a time investment which killers simply can't afford even in mid-tier play.
@TAG said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2606856#Comment_2606856
That doesn't really address the problem of what I'm saying. You don't get to choose when Beast of Prey goes online. When you do get it to trigger, you gotta hope that you're in a position where you can take advantage of it. If you aren't, your options are to either let it go to waste or deliberately wait until a situation for you to use it comes up (neither of which are good).
Once it's activated it's activated. You don't lose chases that easily, if the survivor is near even on the other side of a wall.
Terror radius takes place in a chase.
If it's so counterable being undetectable, how do they know in which direction you're going when behind a wall?
They don't, simply.
Most of the situations where you can see over a pallet are mindgamable, mostly.
So if it's a god pallet you break it, if it's a classic mindgamable pallet you mindgame it with skill and prediction, if it's a big thick long wall jungle gym you use beast of pray once they forced you to at least bloodlust 1 using the window.
With the new jungle gyms introduced "recently"( actually it's been a while now lol), even there there is always the same trick of changing direction you can pull off
-

It's okay to be wrong, OP. That's what you are, and that's okay. If it helps you, cool, but maths, sense, and the experience of others each do not agree with you.
I'm not saying it's strong, I'm saying it's underrated. Maybe a 3 star perk, and in some particular maps even 4 stars. In some maps tho it's 1 star because they can see you at almost every loop

It is when survivors are efficient on gens.
For me I noticed that once i got better at the game bloodlust practicly never triggered. When it triggers it's usually a sign i'm losing and need to step my game up.
You clearly have a different experience and i might try putting BoP on some more to try but it seems like a big gamble most of the time. The mindgame isn't guarantied to work either and like you said they could just dead hard your entire 15-20 seconds investment away.
In a game where if you don't get pressure quickly it ends in 5 minutes that's a huge loss.
I'll give it a try but i'm not hopefull
Give it a try! Yes, Ruin undying deadlock corrupt probably better.
But worse than enduring/brutal? I wouldn't say immediately, let's see

Buddy you've gotta just give it up lol. Everyone is explaining why it's not a good perk. You have a somewhat decent idea but the actual usage just isn't there. If you're playing against the newest of new survivors, it might work. But that's it. No one is gonna be running it and thinking "wow why didn't I ever use this before" because it's just not good enough in comparison to other perks you can be running. If you really want stealth, there's better options. Have an open mind and accept what everyone is saying, the perk is not under rated. It's just bad
I just disagree at this point. I'll provide some video evidence that it can work.
With pig it's pretty good: you maybe do the first hit with stealth, then, if they hold W in a straight line, it's (18meters of distance/(4,6-4m/s) seconds to catch up at least, which is 30 seconds. Half that time, and you already have bloodlust 1.
-
@dugman said:
Hypothetically becoming Undetectable in a chase can maybe help you mind game the survivor in some places, but since it only happens in a chase and only during Bloodlust it’s a pretty weak effect.
Personally I’d like to see them add a movement speed boost to Bloodlust, something like an additional +3/6/9% speed boost (based on perk rank) while in Bloodlust. Basically it would make it so if you use that perk then Bloodlust become increasingly more dangerous. Maybe even keep the Undetectable, why not? With enough of a speed boost this perk would be decent.
Imo Beast of Prey should work the moment you start a chase. It would be so much better, so many opportunities to evaluate how strong it actually is

Yes I know p2p was before dedicated servers. And dedicated servers is the better method. The hit validation is the way the game is supposed to work. Server sees both inputs and puts out the appropriate output. So when a pig dash attack is supposed to land the pig will swing but the survivor timed their dh correctly cause the swing to miss. So saying the validation isn't fair doesn't make since
It's not fair, because it provides something that wouldn't have happened if dead hard procced before the hit validation.
-
@Sonzaishinai said:
The problem of BoP isn't the effect, it's the activation condition.
Bloodlust just isn't a good mechanic. 15 seconds chase time withour any pallet break's (not to mention any random loss of chase cause of LoS loss) just to activate your perk is just way to long. Relying on bloodlust is just a losing strategy. And BoP does not change that.
I'm sure that you can pull of some sweet mindgames with the undetectable status but i think your better of learning mindgames that don't have a 15 second setup.
If this perk ever gets changed so it isn't tied to bloodlust it would probably be much better.
If it's 5 seconds to get to a pallet, 5 (usually more) before it's dropped, in just 5 seconds you'll go undetectable. 15 second is not that long, people don't realise.

Victor was never in p2p. What are you talking about? But imo dh in the instances is mentioned to make the killer is going to get a hit and then they get out of the way of the swing. So yeah it should cause the pig to swing during a dash if timed correctly.
Peer to peer dbd was before dedicated servers, now how the game worked for almost 2 years with dedicated servers is the way it's supposed to work
