Sounds like they just used dead hard. And I'm pretty sure it always did that. I remember back on p2p the good ole ghost chainsaw hits you would get with Billy.
Nope, it didn't do that. With Victor you went through the Survivor and Pig's dash kept going

How do you abuse a perk. And what does swf have to do with it.
It could be abused in a way like cancelling Pig's dashes and other things seen in the video.
Especially the one with Victor, that can be the difference between winning or losing a match

His footsteps are surprisingly quiet but maybe because I main him I can hear his breathing just fine.
Plus we can’t forget his loud grunt when he vaults a window
Well fair enough, maybe with equalizer you can even be a super audio pro and find the best setting WITH EACH KILLER to perfectly hear his sound frequencies, but on legion/pig it's impossible even with an equalizer, they make almost no noise

I can see it giving some value on some situations, but the thing is really good survivors do everything to avoid being in a mindgame situation. They stay on places with good LOS, they pre drop safe pallets and they run to safe windows to prevent anything the killer can do. Just see how Ghostface usually performs, a killer that has Beast of Prey as basekit.
This is a good point. The problem is: what mindgame are the people playing ghostface actually trying?
Of course these mindgames are gonna be better if the tile is in a corner of the map where the survivor can't run away, tho if you know that a survivor runs away from a poop, try to predict that and it could be a free hit
-
@Fuzzels said:
Like go ahead and use it if you like, that's fine. But it's really not gonna work as well as you're thinking it will when you're playing against survivors that have more than 7 braincells
It worked against good survivors, especially considering the fact that they didn't expect that at all.
The only matches where it doesn't work is maps like The Game where you have 5/6 god pallets back to back that make you lose the match

Clown’s breathing is extremely obvious and loud
Clown with Beast of Prey is useless, yellow bottles will do the job better.
But Clown's chase music is VERY loud, so I dare you hear his footsteps/breathing XD

There's nothing wrong with being new. But you need to understand, there's a reason people don't use beast. It's not a good perk.
I'm not new, I have 2400 hours, and I started playing dbd since January 2017, and I know it's not as strong as other perks
But there's a difference between saying that there other better perks, and saying that a perk is useless.
-
@TAG said:
To my understanding, the problem with Beast of Prey is not the actual ability but the condition needed to trigger it. Tying the trigger entirely to Bloodlust means that you have zero control over where and when it happens, which can realistically lead to many cases of you having zero use for the Undetectable status effect.
If you can see over a pallet, with most pallets (unless it's Cowshed or The Game), most of these pallets are unsafe of half unsafe, that you can mindgame.
If you can't see over a side of a tile loop structure, usually that loop pallet is "safe" not really if you use Beast of prey
-
@Fuzzels said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2606729#Comment_2606729
Right. A killer instantly losing all TR doesnt just trick a survivor into thinking you've left the chase. Look dude you're obviously pretty new to the game, and there's no
again, did you read the thread before writing?
Ofc you're gonna get no value from beast of prey if you hope that survivors will think you left the chase.
Btw Beast of prey can have a value if you decide to leave a chase, since it lasts for like 2 second after the chase music is over, for a total of like 6/8 seconds of undetectable that you can use to surprise another survivor
-
@Labrac said:
The problem is that most killers' powers cancel Bloodlust. Doctor's shock, Clown's bottles, Freddy placing snares (I'm actually not sure on this one). Besides that, survivors can force you to break Bloodlust by simply dropping a safe pallet.
Yeah, there's that. But if you get in a situation, with a killer that uses beast of pray almost perfectly, like Legion or Pig, where you can do a beast of prey mindgame at a tall wall jungle gym for example, that's better than any chasing perk like enduring,brutal, and even bamboozle sometimes.
Also, "simply dropping the pallet". Maybe dropping a pallet is not always 100% safe, especially if you do an almost completely unexpected mindgame that nobody ever does with Beast of prey?
-
@Chocolate_Cosmos said:
Underrated? More like trash.
I mean don't get me wrong, it is not like that perk has 0 value and 0 usage. As you said you can play that perk and try to use it as much as possible but why would you pick this perk when you have like +96% of other perks much better.
Also you can just try to hide your red stain by looking backwards on loops.
Did you read what I wrote in the post?
Hiding the red stain is not always effective, they can still hear you terror radius
-
@Fuzzels said:
Lol no. Being in chase long enough to get beast means you've already lost the chase and saying a killer can't get 2 hits fast enough is just silly my dude.
If a survivor uses the speed boost of the first hit/sprint burst to get to a really safe pallet and drop it, you won't get a hit in less than 15 seconds, it's mathematical almost.
-
I edited the post with this mine new discovery of Pig's dash getting cancelled with DH hit validation.
This is definitely a buff, I hope unintended
-
Mandy do you have any information about the video that I posted? Also I just discovered that dead hard validation cancels Pig's dash completely where before you sometimes had the chance to outplay dead hard D:

As I said, I'm not discussing the balance of the perk and no it was not "balanced around it not working" it hasn't been changed since release as far as I can remember, and it was released well before the game was on Dedicated Servers.
Actually the speed curve you get with DH has been changed to go to 10m/s immediately, but it was a long time ago
-
https://youtu.be/ruFsdVAUmL0@Mandy said:
Dead Hard is not buffed first of all, it's now working as intended - it hasn't worked under dedicated servers as it was still reliant on the killers connection, whereas now it's reliant on the players connection to the server, so again whoever did the action first.
Also the blade wipe animations are not present etc so no time is lost. The only thing that I can see as a possible issue is that teh player screams as if hit, whereby they are not actually hit, and that's feedback that's already been sent back to the team (it's similar to the pallet validation feedback in that instance).
@MandyTalk Is this how it's supposed to work? Especially with Victor (and Nemesis also) its extremely frustrating getting destroyed with Victor because dead hard hit validation makes you go on cooldown instead of through the survivor.
Do you know if this was intended or not?
-
https://youtu.be/yi9Mmdh5VkU
This is the example of what completely outplaying the killer means and still losing SBMM because of noed/not being able to reach the exit gate, etc
-

So...you are mad about killers that aren't skilled enough? I thought most people complaining about solo queue were people constantly dying. You would think the DC and hook suicide games would be up your alley to challenge you a bit. Lol.
If you want a balanced pvp experience, you are playing the wrong game. Try... Anything that isn't asymmetrical.
Killers are not the problem (Noed Bubbas are), they're almost always skilled.
The problem that must get fixed is the survivors you constantly play with. Solo Q is super tough, not because there's no communication, but because teammates are JUST BAD, many times.
-
@Tr1nity said:

I dont really know, but it would probably require an overhaul that BHVR can't do.
It would require to add a chase skill/not suicide factor into the SBMM elo

His base kit is fine. No nerfs or buffs needed.
Nerf his silent bell and all seiing blood harder though
I think that Silent bell should be nerfed, but have bone clapper somewhat basekit. It's too much a downgrade playing without one of those 2 or Swift hunt. You take too much time to get out of cloak, and you move so slow.
-
This nerf should not go through, maybe the All seeing add on, but Wraith's basekit should he buffed instead, to give him an anti loop ability, and I think that giving him a BUFF to his speed out of cloak, where it lasts 1,50/1,60/1,75 seconds would be great

@Brokenbones said:
Y'all aren't looking at the bigger picture
Dying in a trial is techincally escaping it because survivors are sent back to the campfire upon death
They got rid of the 'Death is not an escape' as well I think
They had said it hasn't been found still
-
Also, with noed Deadlock No way out Corrupt you get even more 2k doing nothing.
-
@C3Tooth said:
That fact of Camping 1 to death then Noed 1 at end game and have a "balanced" 2k zero effort is why we cant buff Killer more or adding 2nd objective for survivors. Because they can have 3k every game from that.
Basically. 2k always, unless the first chase lasts ages.
Against all killers you can trade yourself almost always, but against Leatherface you cannot unless extreme coordination that solos DON'T HAVE

Yesterday i was playing Hag (without Franklins) and a full CWF changed to 4 flashlights at last second during lobby...
All of them had the same perks: Dead hard, Unbreakable, Soul Guard and DS.
On every chance they had during a chase, they would go into a locker and blind me whenver i tried to catch them.
There were many t-bags, blinds, removed traps, pointing, locker abuse and hook spam...
In the end, 1 gen got done, i got 28k points while they got 7-11k, everyone got slugged to death and they were EXTREMELY SALTY on the end game chat 😄.
https://i1.sndcdn.com/artworks-000224784341-4zsd46-t500x500.jpg
I enjoy more these matches when there's a lot of slugging instead of the other where one it just tunneled out of the game: many times when the killer slugs against me, it's like a bag of chocolates: you never know what's going to happen. These matches instead you know what's going to happen, always, no variety. Also no reason to play like a sabo/totem hunt/bodyblocker/flashlight savings build, because doing gens is always the choice, ALWAYS.
-
Oh, btw, I'm not a killer main, I play both equally

@R2k said:
Killer shouldn't be abused and held hostage. I vote for no map offerings at all.
When a map has a game hostaging bug it gets immediately disabled.
There's no way to hold the killer hostage in a match, literally. Apart from being extremely good at hiding and ratting for minutes and minutes behind rocks, but even that can be dealt with

Once RPD is reworked to not be such a horrible map, I'd be fine with adding a penalty to disconnecting before the game starts.
But as of now, RPD is such a horrible map that I will always disconnect if I see an RPD badge.
@yummymarshy said:
I too would leave the game if anyone honestly enjoyed going to the rpd map
So to fix a map nobody likes (btw I think The Game is much worst, RPD is big but doesn't have so many god pallets, and it's massively good for Wraith) you promote a mechanic that can be abused multiple times?
-
@gnehehe said:
Unlucky, their game just crashed during loading when you used RPD/Hawkins/Midwhich offering ... Most important word from previous sentence was "U N L U C K Y".
And you can't prove they alt+f4'ed since streamers would typically say "ohhhh no my game just crashed, this is so saaaaaaad" in this case!
By the way, devs will never add a penalty for the loading crash moment ... deal with it!
This should be punished because if not people are gonna imitate and start dcing.
And, on the other side, if someone abuses things to "know" which killer it is, and stream snipe and harrass, well in that case that survivor eats, in the worst case, a 1 month ban.

"Q) As you've added more perks to help the killer control generators, have you seen any change in gen speeds?
A) The perks are, of course, useful- but they don't want to make it something they absolutely have to equip constantly. And if people are feeling forced into generator slowdown perks, then it's not good for the game and something needs to be done."
This part right here. Killers have been struggling with gens for over a year. Feeling forced to stack several gen slowdown perks and the devs did something about it, by nerfing Ruin, Undying, Pop and Lullaby.
Undying before the nerf was atrocious, ruin could literally respawn 4 freaking times.
Btw the gens problem has been such since the game launched

Many times he said bullshit things killers shouldn't have, and if most of the things that get said are buffs to certain killers...well it's just because the game in not balanced for them, and have little map pressure with their ability

That's not what the Developer Update actually said, please note there was an example given.
Having more balanced matches - where players are of equal skill, is going to allow our Designers to adequately see things on both sides not just killers. It will give them a much better idea of where issues are and what needs to be changed/balanced...it won't just be fixated on the top percentage of players, but it will allow them to look at things in categories for all players.
From a game like Rainbow Six Siege, but also DBD itself, I know that something can be "perfectly" balanced, but extremely frustrating to go against if you don't have a team, or simply unfun, or frustrating if you're a new player.
Is this what was actually meant for "we don't want to balance for top 1% of players" ?
Because I know that it is totally possible to have something balanced/fair for both sides, but at the same time available consistently against the the best players.
-
@Sonzaishinai said:
Not balancing for the top 5% doesn't mean you need to ignore them. If nurse suddenly had a 100% win rate in the top 5% it would be good to know.
That or they changed their mind. They also said we wouldn't have a clown killer.
Also machine. Definitively machine
"You're a machine Connor, just a machine"

Freddy is definitely stronger than Pyramid Head in my opinion. I love the idea behind Pyramid Head's design, but he is so telegraphed that it is difficult to get anything going against smart survivors that can largely just mitigate his powers.
I feel like Nemesis is slept on despite being the definitive jack of all trades killer with the most lit music.
There's no way Freddy is stronger. Unless you have the add on failed skill checks will wake you up, his anti loop is like old Clown but even worse, where survivors can leave even more easily the loop, and the teleport is not that essential.

Really? I must face bad ones, then, because I rarely face ones that get 4ks but face Bubbas (yes, often very campy) that get them all the time.
Yes, really. With Bubba you're pretty much forced to use the double speed combo or the speed + chilli combo, otherwise the default ability won't make the catch up enough good. Even the faster charges recharge add on is good.

I like Pyramidhead a lot in terms of design. He looks good, his attack makes sense, and while he didn’t have the cages in the game, it’s a good fit for his character.
Bubba may be the strongest, for having a one-hit attack that can down multiple survivors at once.
Are you joking? Listen, I'm a bubba main and a Pyramid main, and I know for a fact that Pyramid is better in all ways, even if as Bubba you try to use all the camping potential possible.

There isn't a way for players to really know how MMR is being calculated since there is no way to view your own MMR.
Which is fine, because a problem of the emblem system is that it's very easy to "game" the emblems to pip or depip.
If the players you face change with your secret number, then if you play multiple matches in the same way you should see changes

That's just me, though.
So just for that completely block a killer for appearing in the game, when you can use countermeasures and report and get trolls banned?
