Dedicated servers will not fix these problems, merely lessen them to an extent. The devs will still need to do work beyond the dedicated servers to fix these issues. It's merely step one.

I totally agree with this. It won't fix the game, the devs actualy NEED to fix this game.

  • How can you even defend this game? Lol. It has the same broken mechanics it had when it released to consoles, instead of fixing them, they just continue breaking more mechanics, and adding characters.

Broken perks, Head On, Dead Hard, Lithe(mainly do to broken windows) Decisive Strike, not including all of the broken token perks. Broken healing mechanics, borken windows, broken hitboxes, and I play both killer and survivor. There are plenty of times where i was nowhere near the survivor with my swing but they still go down lol

Honestly I'm barely even scracthing the surface on broken factors of this game lol.

  • It kinda sucks lol. Double bloodpoints! But half the games 😂

  • Ive been playing Plague because I had rituals with her. So i couldn't grab fountains, which survivors were cleansing on left and right. For absolutely nothing. Then I seemed to notice that after they fill the fountains they actually all disappear.

  • @MrDardon said:

I can't read Head On anymore without my head saying "Apply directly to the forehead"

    Thanks Samination

Thats how i have been since release of the perk lol

This only just works once, after that the killer checks each time a locker located near the downed and you get caught too.

That depends, some killers do fall for the same trick twice haha. As long as Head On doesn't bug out (which it usually does when I land it more than once per game) I generally land Head On about 3 or 4 times per match.

I usually only have a locker save presented. Maaaybe once per game though, that isn't quite as common. Although the other day I saved a random with Head On that way, with absolutely no communication or coordination. I just saw he was being chased in an area and hopped in a locker just in time for him and the killer to round the corner and go down right in front of me based on total coincidence. It was amazing.

  • @Victory said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/57457/head-on

Basically, if theyre in front of the locker, at any point you rushed out of the locker, as soon as you land and regained control of your survivor, they will get stunned, no matter how far away they were when you landed. Its on activation, not when you land, thats what confuses people.

I don't think this is really correlated to the bugginess of the perk. I could be wrong but it just feels bugged, not like I'm miss using or miss timing the perk

  • I'm sure someone else has witnessed what I'm referring too. I don't think I'm just using it incorrectly or anything. I'm pretty sure the window is bugged. I just fast vaulted in the same game, landing a head on from a very far distance (plague was runnging away from the locker I was in, about 2 steps away from me. And I landed head on.

In the same game, i slapped her with the locker moments before she was about to open the locker and head on didn't activate. I made sure to double check that I wasn't exhausted and the perk was lit up.

  • @Ember_Hunter said:

It's good for SWF when one survivor goes down, and the killer is distracted, the downed survivor could crawl to a locker with someone with Head On inside, and once the killer picks the survivor up, it is completely safe to run out.

Probably one of the very few scenarios for what Head On is good for.

I have defintely landed these locker saves a handful of times already lol. I use Quick & Quiet so there are plenty of scenarios in game where I land Head On. I generally try and land atleast 3 per game but there are a bunch of times where I feel like I must have gotten him because he's right in front of me, and it doesn't work.

@DudeDelicious. That build of yours is actually quite nasty on any killer if your goal is to simply stop gens getting done at all lol! I may steal that build and use it on Spirit lmao! With prayer beads and a flute there will be no gens getting done at all just ppl running for their lives hoping they dont depip lol.

I use this build with spirit as well, i just use Hex: Thrill Of The Hunt in place of MYC.

  • I was just thinking about this.

I unhook my friend with my borrowed time, he takes the killers agro, gets tunneled, gets hit for borrowed, uses dead hard, gets hit for mettle of man, gets hit and downed, uses decisive strike.

The combo from hell. Why not add adrenaline for the perfect wombo combo?

Adrenaline, dead hard, mettle of man, desicive strike.

Just hope a teamate has borrowed on lol.

  • I personally have no issue fighting against the plague. If you never heal than she has no power at all. The actual puke is such a weak power, takes like 4 full pukes to actually harm a survivor which is like a realllllyyy slow m1. And if nobody heals she basically is a m1 only killer because her puke is very weak on it's own.

  • It isn't. It's a waste of time imo. Run empathy and find teamates and heal eachother. Or just do a gen.

    #genrush

  • I run enduring on my killer and the DS stun feels like almost nothing. Still wastes time, so it does its job but its more of a wasted perk slot than it was before.

    Bad perk nerfed worse.

He explained in his message what a haiku was lol. Haikus have nothing to do with anime. You didn't learn about haikus in grade school?

  • Some of my favorites would be...hm

    1. The Hag. I can't tell you how many times I accidentally run through a trap and scream because all of a sudden there's a loud noise followed by am immense terror radius.

    2. The Trapper. Here comes the trapper, you better watch out for his traps.

    3. The Shape. A killer with almost no terror radius makes for a very scary match. Especially when that killer is charging up his exposed.

    4. The Spirit. I love a challenge and oh boy, Spirit gives that.

    5. The Nurse. She's so fun and easy to kite. Well, I play on console so, there's that.

    6. The Huntress. Refer too #5.

    7. LeatherFace. I haaate fighting leather face, but I've been practicing swaying back and forth to dodge his chainsaw and ive been getting alot better at it.

  • When she's injured she legit sounds like a porn star.

Can make a mean meme build, with Lightweight, Dance With Me, Lithe and Quick & Quiet can be hilarious to throw off Killers chasing/looking for you xD

Not a super strong build, but could potentially mindgame the ######### outta Killers

I now use lightweight, quick and quiet, head on, adrenaline. I defintely would use dance with me if I had it! Seems like such a helpful perk. Head on completes my build.

  • He litterally just ran around all game. Doing nothing but scare randoms off gens with his lullaby I'm sure.

  • @Master said:

Thats why we asked for secondary objectives, being required to search for stuff in order to repair gens, fuel, parts whatever....

But it doesnt look like BHVR is doing anything in this regard =(

They do events all the time that add secondary objectives for the survivors all the time.

  • I started playing killer as the hag and then i fell in love with spirit. And legion is cool too.

The reason I like these 3 killers is map control, slap on perks like Nurse's Calling(Nurse Teachable) or Barbeque & Chilli(Leatherface teachable) makes them even more deadly. I prefer to rubber band all over the map, running Hex: Devour Hope(Hag Teachable) helps this playstyle as well. I try to be harassing atleast 2 survivors at all times, sometimes I'll break chase to go kick a gen and apply pressure to a nearby survivor. Also, If I was able to get a hit on the survivor before I broke chase, chances are if I go back to where they were headed I can find them healing.

These aren't necessarily mlg pro strats but I think this rubber banding, map control playstyle really helps when you start going against better survivors and playing other killers. Especially when you play killers that are slower/more prone too camping/tunneling. Playing as Hag, Spirit, Legion, even Wraith, Freddy, Michaels will teach you to avoid that and you'll be able to stop the big bad GenRush instead of getting too focused on one survivor.

  • If you can dodge a wrench you can dodge a ball.

  • I mean there's a difference between trying to predict where the killer will go and literally knowing exactly where they are.

I don't know if this is pro strat or whatever but ive had better luck just chasing more directly than actually mind gaming survivors. Most of the time killers will mind game themselves so hard they'll lose you on their own. I notice if I try to mind game too hard I'll end up wasting my blood lust.

  • @ABannedCat said:

A no-blink Nurse challenge seems pretty obvious, since thats litterally just not using her power. You can do that with every killer but Freddy, and Wraith.

I've seen it done with freddy lol.

Yea… because 84% of all survivor player are just dumb to use SC, right? :P

    Yes.

  • Toxic flashlight spamming, body blocking, t-bagging, and pointing SWF groups seem to be more and more frequent.

Body blocking is a legitimate strategy. Other than that, the rest i totally agree with. Super annoying.

  • @Wolf74 said:

    @Goldengeartwo

Obviously you need it, because you said:

"To me, I just don't see why Survivors can be seen as the advantageous side.

    …

Survivors have always felt considerably more difficult for me to play."

And that shows that you do not understand the basic gameplay of DBD.

Maybe that's why you think it is difficult to play survivor.

Learn the simple rules I posted above, play with them and if all 4 do, the game is pretty easy for survivor.

Survivor only start getting hard, if 1 or 2 survivor play like potatoes and don't do their part.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/777/Z87BR8Z5RMO5.png

This guy says "use self care" and also thinks that he has helpful DBD knowledge lmao. Rip.

  • This is a story all about how my life got flipped, turned upside down.

Anyway, be me, playing as nurse, trying to get the adept nurse trophy (kill all 4 survivors with just the nurses 3 teachables) so i end up slugging one person and hooking the other 3 in the basement. Perfect victory right? As soon as I blink out of the basement to go get the slugged claudette, one of the basement hooks Kobe's themselves right off the hook with their 4% and saves the other two.

    Rip me.

If you stop playing SWF, then I will stop camping and tunneling.

    Is that a deal?

What if I don't have a problem with any of these? they're things that are in the game.

  • Wait..this is a real complaint? I play both and never even noticed a difference lmao. I didn't even know they changed how much you could recover lol. Killers get mad about silly things.

This isn't preventing anything. You can still slug people haha.

  • I burned an ebony mori, which I honestly never do but I had 12 lmao. So I start the match, game progressing, yadda yadda. And there are two survivors in particular who are teabagging and taunting me allllllll game long. I get one hooked, no biggie. And then the one survivor is baiting me to down them, I can tell. So i down them and as soon as I grab them, the last gen goes off, so naturally I assume they have adrenaline and were trying to bait me with it. This was one of the teabaggers lol. So I hook them, and keep slapping them over and over. And then they 4% themselves off the hook and as I suspected, with adrenaline. I'm in panic mode now and am chasing them towards an open exit and I find the other teabagger who was healing so I see them with Nurse's calling. I down them and hook them for the second time. They get saved, and I chase them and down them inches from the exit gate, i pick them up and start walking towards a hook. The other teabagger tries to get a flashlight save/body block and I hit her once and drop the person and do a 360 swing and down the other. It was at this moment I remember: I HAVE A MORI.

So i mori both of them inches from the exit gate.

    Ah, sweet sweet victory.

  • Camp all you want, tunel all you want. But having a problem with survivors doing gens and avoiding you? That is the two main objectives as a survivor. Loop you, do gens. What are they supposed to do? Run around in a straight line until you kill them? Gen rushing and looping are the OBJECTIVE. There is nothing wrong with that.

Now teabagging and clicking flashlights at you is super annoying, realistically it doesn't alter gameplay much. I will agree with you its toxic and unsportsmanlike. But "gen rushing" and "looping" is survivors literal objective.

  • It sounds like most of you just don't enjoy playing killer. Even when I'm stressed playing killer, I leave the game having fun.

  • @artist said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/358217#Comment_358217

in your example you give off the idea of being ######### on by survivors. if the killer is destroying the survivors, do they not also have a time limit until they're all dead? you work slow, your team dies.

Agreed with you here. Both sides are very time sensitive. If a killer is doing really well survivors need to speedily do some gens to apply pressure. Just like if survivors are popping of gens before you get hooks, killer really needs to start nailing chases and get some hooks and damage some survivors to slow down the survivors and apply pressure.

  • @Ryuhi said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/360029#Comment_360029

TBH your advice is pretty specific to Freddy, as his strength in chases is non-existant but his ability to slow down the game CAN be very good when played the way you mentioned. Killers with no map pressure can't really afford to ignore survivors in favor of gens, at least not until they can force a 3 gen game (or a survivor or two is dead.) Its one of those rare cases where Freddy does something vital better than most of the roster, ironically.

I've actually never played Freddy, maybe I need too lol. My play style is super suited too mobile killers like Spirit, Hag, Wraith, Billy. I also really enjoy playing Myers, Legion and Trapper. Huntress too, even though shes sooo slow and I play heavy focus with huntress. I always try and get quick two smack combo with her hatchet/melee.

  • The issues is that both sides make up these imaginary rules and expect the other side to follow their rules.

Survivors rulebook: killer isn't allowed to tunnel, camp, use moris, use their ability, use the nurse, use billy, use Legion, use Freddy, kill anyone, hook anyone, down anyone, play.

Killers rulebook: survivor isn't allowed to break ruin, isn't allowed too do gens, wear cosmetics, bring toolboxes, or medkits, play a prestige character, play claudette, use map offerings, use any items.

Actual rules for both killer and survivor: win.

  • @Ryuhi said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/361015#Comment_361015

Then those players would just quit the game altogether, just like SWF only survivors would quit if they didnt have the ability to team up. Or just switch to survivor and stop playing killer. And of course these outcomes would make queue times even longer for survivors, extrapolating the problem.

You don't punish an entire group of your playerbase for something like that and expect said playerbase to continue to grow. You have to address WHY people are exhibiting a unified reaction, and respond in a way that addresses their DESIRE to do so. Its literally how BBQ&C happened: it was to incentivize killers to not camp by rewarding them for hooking different survivors, while also giving them the ability to track them (even if its tracking has 9000 counters now, but thats another story.)

But the "why" isnt a good reason. Most killers on these forums even say that they just want an easy 4k and when they don't get that they get mad and dc. Honestly dodging SWF has become a meme, just like hating legion. The internet is swarming to these group mentalities because it's the "in" thing. Swf isn't even that huge of an issue. Sure, toxic teabagging survivors are annoying to face but they aren't unbeatable. It's annoying, but that has nothing to do with SWF. That has to do with a player being unsportsmanlike. Which that player will do the same thing to you wether he's a solo or SWF.

  • @jmaximo93 said:

If you post a video of you taking down a 4 man rank 1 SWF group with a level 5 Trapper then you have an argument. If you can't then honestly you're just trying to get a ride out of killers. As a survivor main I can tell you right now that even when I do SWF I don't mind the killer lobby dodging. Why should they be forced to play a match where they'll be at a huge disadvantage?

What kind of response is this? Lol. I actually personally HAVE done this lol. For the longest time I was a rank 1 killer, with all of my killers under level 10 besides Hag and Spirit. What you're proposing isn't impossible but it's a totally mute point and completely avoids the situation lol. I play both survivor and killer and stay rank 1 like at all times. I don't dodge as killer because swf is in the game, just like items and cosmetics and offerings etc. And as an average rank 1 killer i generally get a solid amount of 4ks. I lose to SWF just as much as solos and win against solos just as much as SWF.

With the new match making no longer considering rank or region, almost all my lobbies have terrible ping because I live in South Australia. I have to dodge several lobbies before I get survivors with acceptable ping.

Yikes. Is it really that bad? I live a little more central and my ping usually isn't that bad but the wait times definitely are. Make sure to wait for the ping to level out, sometimes my ping starts red, but after 10 seconds itll level out and turn green.

Edit: dont worry, summer is almost here and we can finally have dedicated servers lol.

  • @Eveline said:

What if they dodged because of ping?

I'm not against that. But 5 ping dodges in a row? And insta dodged, not waiting for ping to level out lol. Its unlikely.

  • @Apoch said:

Legion is the easiest killer and the least fun to play against so probably needs a nerf in the other direction for the health, well being and future of dbd

He's already considered the worst killer in DBD by a large majority of players. You really think he needs a nerf?

  • Dodging is still such a problem. I played solo yesterday and was dodged 5 times in a row and I just turned my game off and played something else lol. I'm tired of waiting 5-10 minutes to find a game, to get dodged. Its sooo tiring.

I've started playing almost solely killer because I just simply don't want to play lobby waiting simulator anymore.

Inb4: dont play swf, i wasnt. Inb4: you shouldn't be using items, I wasn't. Inb4:cosmetics. I wear nothing but free cosmetics.

At the end of the day though, none of this^ should matter. Survivors don't dodge killers over cosmetics or items or offerings (well some DC. But they're booty just like killers who dodge)

Heck, Most survivors love seeing a killer in awesome cosmetics.

  • Honestly I think Legion would benefit from a buff to the feral frenzy, either the length(no more than a second or two or else itd be op as all hell, rubberbanding all over the map)

    OR

Could benefit from a very small tweak, like less obstruction on the view of feral frenzy. Those pesky survivors do one circle jerk on me and they disappear lol.

Spirit would want to be only killer taken personally. She could blend into any game perfectly. Mortal Kombat would be happy to see fatality from her. Last year love to see her own kill zones. Her own ghost in a game like fatal frame would scare me. Brought to any game would enjoy her immensely even if was just a cosmetic.

Edit: Didn't even think twisted metal but damn would i enjoy her brought to that franchise as well. Though don't know what she would ride as a vehicle since comes from different time period.

I'm with you, spirit could translate to almost anything and be cool.

  • I don't know why I keep getting notifications for this post since I was the last person to comment. But it still warms my heart to see this post every time lolol.

  • Broly from DBZ. Dudes a monster.

Edit: ope. I totally misread that. I personally love the hag and spirit, I'm sure they'd blend right into another game.

  • Tunneling and camping general leads to being genrushed. If you are solely focusing on one person, you aren't playing very optimally. A good game imo is when I've hooked one person and by the time they got the save I already have another chase initiated, with damage and/or anothet hook. I generally try and ping pong survivors so that 2 are being hooked at all times, which means someone else/multiple people are going for saves, thus nobody is doing gens.

1 2 3 4 … 9
