This is, IMO, horrible advice for Killers, at least beyond Rank 18 or so.

If you just patrol Gens, you'll never down a single Survivor.

    Ex.

    You patrol.

You find 2 Survivors working a Gen.

You get one lucky hit, and don't pursue.

Both Survivors hang back and heal-up the injured one before returning to the Gen.

You are right back where you started, and one lucky hit will do nothing (again).

Meanwhile, 2 other Gens are being repaired the whole time.

Could you please post some video so we can see how you do this?

    Thanks.

P.S. It's actually worse than what I wrote, as by the mid-ranks most Survivors are able to heal themselves without a kit.

I'm a rank 1 killer lol. I can post a video if you'd like. This has gotten me too, and planted at 1-5. I honestly try and depip half the time so I'm not totally white knucling it every game lol. I'm not saying slug everyone and never hook anyone. But i definitely patrol gens over survivors, if i can get a quick easy down/hook I'll take it but most survivors will take their hit and go teabag at a pallet, I'll waste the pallet and leave to patrol gens. Sure, confident survivors won't even heal up, they'll just get right back too gen jockey status. That isn't always the case though, if i can prevent everyone from doing gens by forcing healing, especially with Nurse's Calling, that's a huge win. Someone is hooked, someone is going for the save, someone is being chased, someone else is healing.

That means nobody is doing gens and progressing the game.

Please elaborate? I've just had a really fun daily quest as Freddy, I was doing really well but before I knew it, Everyone was out of the gates, zero kills.

The biggest part of playing killer, any killer, is not to focus on survivors but to focus on gens. If you find a guy right away who isn't on a gen, chase him for a second to apply pressure and leave, if you can get a quick hit off, cool. Just don't let him distract you from your goal: gens. Patrol gens really hard. Especially middle gens. 3 gens strats are real. If you're really good you can get a solid 4 gen strat. You just gotta keep a level head and prioritize gens over survivors. Don't get caught in chases too long. Harass all the survivors, not just once. Remember: hitting 1 or 2 survivors quickly reduces gen time since they'll likely either be in chase, hiding, or healing. Which is all time spent not doing gens.

  • I was trying to find a video of this but there wasn't a good one. I'm going to try and get a KYF lobby together to test it. Find a 4 man gen, have 4 survivors with gen rush builds and 4 BNP purple toolkits and see how fast it goes.

Just to reiterate though, this tactic is a one trick pony. We truly cannot compare this to the time it takes to kill a survivor because this type of strategy will NEVER work in a real game. Not only that, but lets say the odds happen, killer cant locate all 4 of you, all 4 of you spawn on the gen, it just happens to be a 4 person gen AND you all happen to run this set up, you can literally only do this once. There are very few 4 man gens in the game, BNP only activates once and then its over. So comparing this too a killer chase, hook, kill doesn't really make sense. It'd be more comparible to a killer mori or something.

  • This is just how all assymetrical games are. Playing by yourself is stressful, especially against a coordinated team. Evolve, dbd, friday, Last Year, just happens. Sometimes against good players you just gotta white knucle it through and sweat a little lol.

  • I generally leave and watch Netflix. Watched an entire episode of The Flash (45 min episodes) while waiting for a survivor to leave a game once.

You can see hear the heartbeat and see the stain everywhere on the map? Because that’s what coms do. If you really think coms aren’t an advantage you’re stupid.

    I'm stupid. 💁

Coms can be an advantage, sure. Just don't start acting like they make the game unplayable for the killer. Coms are really not some unbearable advantage. Survivors still play the same way as swf or as solo. 1 guy gets chased, the other 3 start gens.

  • Good luck. Get ready for all of the contradicting comments. I posted something like this and everyone was just screaming at eachother saying "absolutely no one ever said Legion was op" and in the same post people were saying Legion was op.

Imo he's a mid tier killer that is hard to avoid once spotted. His strength lies in his ability to win chases. He isn't "uncounterable" his feral is pretty easy to avoid with a couple quick circles. He loses tracks so you can generally skate away from him p easy unless it's a really skilled player. Good luck with this post. Nobody agrees with anyone else on Legion, he's up and op at the same time and cant be fixed. He clearly single handedly ruined the entire game lol.

Legion is fine. Learn his counterplay and you won't have a problem. Everyone is just sooo against adapting to new playstyles.

when did they start paying us? its not your job its a game. u don't have to be an ######### to win

Killers see doing gens in a similar light as camping and tunneling. Are you going to stop doing gens to avoid being an A hole? Of course not. So killers aren't going to stop killing you because they're scared you'll think they're an A hole lol.

I personally don't camp or tunnel. I prefer to have two hooks happening simultaneously, which you can't do if you camp and tunnel but to each his own. Killing is your objective. Kill however you want.

  • Seeing the hundreds of posts on here. I really wonder why everyone is such an entitled baby. And I'm not just trying to throw out insults at anyone or anything like that, it just seems like a good description for whats happening in this game.

Survivors dc because they've been caught, killers dc because ruin breaks, survivors dc if they see legion, killers dc if they see claudette, survivors dc if they get downed, killers dc if they lose, survivors dc if the killer uses a perk they don't like, killers dc over cosmetics, survivors dc over being hooked once, killers dc if survivors do gens at all.

Like just play the game. Most of us have been in these situations and turned games around. As killer they'll genrush me 2-3 gens for one hook because I chased to hard. It happens, but you don't have to dc you can still turn the tables. Same with survivor, you can get caught first and still finish the game with an escape.

So I gotta agree with the poster here, stop DCing.

  • The only thing I don't like about that new generator perk is its going to stall the game. Survivors are going to camp near the gens with the entity and wait until the entity goes away, wait till the killer checks the gen, then do gens.

Alot of survivors arent going to attempt to do gens they're going to hide in bushes until all the gens are available. Otherwise the killer is going to patrol the gens really hard. When there's that many less gens to check, patroling is going to be way stronger. Survivors know this and are just going to hide lol.

  • You know, ones like No Mither? Maybe one could be an obsession alternative to Dying Light:

This perk would be unbelievably op. No Mither, Resiliance, This Cant Be happening, new dying light.

Do gens 34% with larger great skill checks. You want to talk about gen rush? Lol i don't even need a toolkit

  • Well he's only been playing killer for two weeks. Of course he doesn't know how to counter play good survivors. Once he has time into killer he wont have a problem with swf or ds anymore.

Can make a mean meme build, with Lightweight, Dance With Me, Lithe and Quick & Quiet can be hilarious to throw off Killers chasing/looking for you xD

Not a super strong build, but could potentially mindgame the ######### outta Killers

^ i have a buddy who swears by this build.

  • Its so good. My current build is lightwight, quick and quiet, sprint burst and adrenaline. Seems to be working really well for me.

Especially with the new perk head on coming, oh boy.

  • Killer wait times are even quicker than they were before. Survivor is taking even longer than they were before. Hopefully the devs can get lobbies in the pocket before the new killer comes out.

  • I hope they fix it.

  • @esn23 said:

When your on coms it makes a huge difference.. You can warn people ahead of time when the killer is heading in their direction, which means they have ample time to get the hell out of there.. That right there is and advantage that even the lowest skilled people can use..

There are already mechanics in the game that do that. If someone on my coms goes "killers is coming towards you" its like nooo waaaay. I didn't notice the red stain, the heartbeat, or the killer walking towards me! Thank goodness you warned me lol.

How are we the problem when even some developers have said legion is a mistake...

Because you're intentionally breaking the rules and disconnecting, therefore screwing 4 other people out of the game that they play. Not to mention to play with a killer they paid for. You might not like it, cool. But that doesnt mean you have to screw someone else, 4 someone elses over, because you cant handle change.

Guess what? i hate playing against a good billy and myers sometimes but you dont see me dcing whenever I see one lol i strap on my big boy pants and finish the game.

  • Because everyones a bunch of babies and can't adept to change. Can't wait for the next batch of babies dcing every time they see the Plague.

  • There isnt even context. It was just posted to make people mad lol. Nobody cares if you use a key. Nobody cares if you use a mori. Use whatever you want, play however you want.

  • Laurie Strode looks like Geoffery Fieger, Michigan attorney. Swear to god. Look him up.

  • Sounds like my kind of build

  • I played with a team where I was facecamped and instead of doing gens, they're all throwing themselves at the hook.

  • You didn't wiggle. I mean, sounds like you screwed them a little bit lol. Even if the hook is close wiggling slows the killer down. You should always wiggle.

  • Camp. Tunnel. Kill. Its your job. Do whatever you can to win. If you leave my items alone, I'll leave your camping and tunneling alone. Fair trade? Lol.

Exactly this atitude is the reason why queue times are so high.

I hope you enjoy your waiting times, seriously

    -A Killer

I also play killer lol. Survivor queue times are insane right now.

  • I spoke too soon. Just waited 15 minutes for a match on solo queue.

    Edit:to get dodged lol.

  • I stand on the hatch and go watch netflix until the survivor decides to leave. I played a game the other day and had 2 survivors left. I checked the exits and both gates were open but no survivors..check back and forth eventually there's a survivor (who refuses to leave) he plays butt dancing while i stare at him. I walk away and he follows me. So i slap him, and instead of leaving he keeps butt dancing at the gate. So i leave again and he's purposely failing skill checks with self care. So i come back and he finally leaves. So i go stand on hatch, and after maaaaybe a minute of circiling trying to see if the other survivor would try for hatch i notice a crow circling over some hay nearby. So i said screw it and put on Netflix. I come back 5 minutes later and the survivor is running circles around my body. So back to netflix. Another 15 minutes pass and I go check. Still circling my body. So i finish the next episode and go back, and the game is finally over. I can only imagine how long that survivor circled my body for.

  • I think the best way to get good is to come on the forums and cry about literally any perk or item the survivors have. That's what ive seen anyway, seems to work pretty well I think.

As soon as Survivors stop being able to tap my gens, I'll be willing to let dribbling go. Otherwise, it's fair play. Sucks to suck that you went down right next to the hook.

    I agree with this.

We'll make it saves you very little time over the course of a match, you are not constricted for time as a survivor who's currently not doing a gen. BT wastes a TON of time on a killer if you know that the survivor who got BT'd is good at looping.

But if you get a safe hook rescue BT won't even activate so its useless lol. When I play killer I dont camp or really even patrol, very rarely anyway. It wastes so much time. Survivors can have all the safe rescues they want, I'll be hooking another friend before they're even able to get that last save. Then after my hook I'll run back to the area and BT will never activate cuz I was so far from the hook.

If they have We'll Make It they are atleast able to get the weakened survivor healed up. Don't get me wrong We'll Make It isn't as clutch as BT because borrowed time is sooo clutch against the scumlord face campers but that's pretty few and far between. Most killers learned that face camping is a sure fire way to lose out on 3 gens lol.

Borrowed Time has the absolute simplest counter in the world:

    Dont camp.
Just stop camping and you'll literally never have to worry about Borrowed Time.

LOL @ calling BT useless, it's a staple perk for SWF and even as solo survivor it's useful to buy time since the saved survivor can indefinately loop. If you know the killer is coming back wait for the TR and then unhook--->profit.

Looping doesn't really have anything to do with Borrowed Time? And borrowed time is only even viable against a killer who camps, I used to main BT but ive learned that its honestly a wasted perk slot unless the killer is camping. Otherwise you just wait for a safe hook rescue. Id honestly rather run we'll make it over BT to get that safe unhook and (basically)instaheal combo.

are you serious right now? Are you actually fuicking serious? THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH CAMPING YOU DAMNED NOOBLET!

BT doesn't activate unless the killer is camping. Soooo....it literally has everything to do with camping.

  • I really like the idea of killers having multiple mori animations.
  • Ace takes the cake for the worst perks. Sure quinton and ace can run specific builds and their perks can be viable for specific things but neither of them are actuallt good
  • So when I actually DO get lobbies the Ping is always ######### AND the Ranks mix matched to [BAD WORD] being fair anyone, I got a Rank 2 Killer with Rank 8 me, a 15, A 10, and something else every match, all uneven. I was going against a Billy and we died SO HARD I thought my team just sucked but hell no this Billy was Rank 2 and it explained how perfefect he was with is saw, none of us were experienced enough to go against that.

You gotta think, this game is not exactly thriving. There isn't really a big enough player base to have the games rank separated anymore. From my understanding The matchmaking fix is too more or less remove rank and region from the equation so we can actually find games.

We're all going to have to get used to mix ranked games if we ever actually want to find matches.
  • Edit:Accidental double post.
  • This is such a strange complaint. You're upset that you can't stab someone before they've even regained control of their character? Lol. I'm happy they fixed it. Just don't camp and you won't even have this issue lol.

  • So the day before i posted this thread my matchmaking was working very well. Then I tried to play the day before yesterday and yesterday and matchmaking was so bad that I couldn't even find a lobby lol as solo or swf. So i just quit and played Apex both days lol.
