  • Just don't give a ######### about what these people are saying. Play what you like!

Spirit is strong because of her mind games and for some people this is unfun, because they cannot bully a killer who is unpredictable. For me, I rather face a Spirit than an omega blink nurse (given the nurse is good). I like the challenge spirit gives me. Am I guessing right? Or not? And what about prayer beads? Well.... just use Spine Chill. No Gen grabs anymore! Iron Will and Spine Chill are very strong anainst her. I recommend them to everyone who has problems with her.

  • @Raven014 Yes. As Hex Skillchecks are the same as Great Skillchecks they would. This is why powering through Ruin (aka ignoring the perk and just doing gens) would be ineffective at some point, because there wouldn't be Hex/Great Skillchecks anymore you could hit.

This would also cause Hex Ruin to lead to your ruin if you do not find it, as it should imo. Because it's the same for Hex Devour Hope. You can't find it fast after 3 tokens' Exposed Status? Well RIP.

  • @Raven014 I'm not quite sure if you understood what my point was, so I will explain again.

I would only reduce the GREAT Skillcheck zone (the tiny one). I know for a fact, that new players don't hit one of these as much (only by chance) because they tend to struggle with Skillchecks in general and are glad they hit it. Experienced players hit Greats most time which can lead to very fast Gen progress. By taking this away they are slowed down where newer players aren't because of said reasons above.

I hope this is now clear. But correct me if I misunderstood you instead :)

  • @PolarBear yes, this would be better I think.

But then would be The Entity exclusive for Nea and The Killer exclusive for Nea and Jeff XD

  • I just got an idea for this: The more gens are done, the smaller the Great Skillcheck zone is.

    O Gens: 100%

    1 Gen: 70%

    2 Gens: 40%

    3 Gens and more: 0%

    Why?

I, as an experienced player, thought about the reason why gens are done fast. And this is that many people have practiced hitting Great Skillchecks (wich add 2% progress I think). And why is that? Because the use of Ruin made them practice. So once Ruin is gone, Survivors fly through gens because they'll hit Greats the most time. Slowly reducing this zone makes "powering through Ruin" ineffective. They would either have to find the totem or they'll have to Gen tap to avoid it. Both consumes time. And have straight 2x 80s of Gens in the end can be massive, for there are most likely no more toolboxes left and you can patrol the last 4 gens better.

Why not the other way round? This would make it very difficult for the killer to find people when they decide to find the totem first.

Without ruin, this would give the Survivors a normal start but they would need more time in the end. And they'd have to be more aware of the map to prevent 3genning themselves. This would be punished even more.

[Edit: This would most likely not affect new players, because they normally just hit Skillchecks (Good ones) and most of them will search for the totem before touching a Gen again. This would only add a challenge for more experienced players.]

    What do you think?

  • My problem with Gen Rush is that, even with Ruin, ges get done so fast before the match even really starts. And how often I see Ruin destroyed in the first 30s, so gens are done even faster!

I should not need Ruin to not loose 2 Gens in early game. But pushish simultaneous work on gens is not good as is adding time for gens or add more gens to be done.

I like @Lametart and @Raven014 ideas with more/smaller Skillchecks but this would only be a temporary solution to the problem, for Skillchecks don't really matter to good or more experienced Survivors, only for new players. And with them Gen Rush was never a problem.

It is hard to balance this because it's kinda rank/experience dependent. And we all know what would happen if it would be more difficult for Survivors on high ranks....

  • And I'm getting Coldwind Farm all day. As Myers. Far worse.

But I would be annoyed to just get Springwood too. For the map is actually fun now.

  • @Skarkio Obviously this belongs here. Because if it wasn't here nobody would believe this. (This is irony of cause!)

  • @Skarkio Yes even in Parodies I invest time. As is Samination. Because anything that should be funny (as Parodies and Comedy f.e.) needs time to make because it has to be funny.

But I do not mind if you still don't believe me. I can understand that one can loose hope with some stupid things people say here.

    @Fibijean Thank you.

  • @MadManRS If someone jumps in a locker, just carry him at the edge of the map where there are no lockers in range, then mori him. Same when he sits on a Gen/Totem/Chest. For the last 2 you could also wait until it's done.

You can't really do anything against dc's though. I think you should be granted the achievement when someone dc's nonetheless.

  • @Skarkio I thought it was obvious that this is parody too.....

  • @Acromio I know. But maybe this was too strong. Especially when combined with J. Myers Memorial and the old Tinkerer.

So I can understand why they nerfed it.

  • @Acromio I think that I understand very well. I just do not think that these balance changes affect the Evil Incarnate Achievement much. I have seen many people do this and did it myself twice (you can watch my video in a post above). So it is not impossible. Just difficult or time consuming as achievements should be.

  • @Acromio these were so long ago.

    1. Maybe it was too easy to get EW

    2. to 4. Irrelevant for Evil Incarnate

    5. This is just the same indicator as for Devour Hope/Hounted Grounds. Irrelevant.

    6. Irrelevant for Evil Incarnate.

    7. Would you rather like a Myers that bodyblocks you like Hillbilly? I think not. (at least as Survivor).

    8. STBFL was OP in the beginning but now it's OK. PWYF is a thing on it's own. It was too strong in the beginning and made Scratched mirror too powerful. It is a strange perk, with few uses but there are perks that are far worse.

  • I did this Achievement twice. For the 1st one I tried for 5 times (3x on a Farm map, 1x on Mothers Dwelling and 1x on McMillan) until I used The Game offering and got Potatoes. This was way before EGC came out. My build was the one Monto used: Dying Light, PWYF, Ruin and Brutal Strength

Then I retried it after EGC came out - and about 1k hrs DBD later - and did it on my 1st try on Wrecker's Yard. My build: Ruin, PWYF, Bamboozle and Brutal Strength.

Here is the Video of this last try (I think it was right after Rank Reset). In this video I talk in German. But I really don't say anything important. I hope this shows that this is still possible.

  • Sounds nice but one day in the not so far future, when you have 80 Devotion you won't have to buy anything anymore. Only for new characters and then this wouldn't be special anymore.

I would rather like some other special cosmetics for Killers/Survivors you have all perks on, especially when they'll make it a lot less grindy soon.

  • @Impala I'm more referring to the historical person. And this is why I would not choose the "Torturing Chair" of yours but keep your idea. Vlad was cruel, but no man of torture. So me and my friends (one of them studies history, so yeah XD) will think about this and I will edit it when done.

PS: just made the Icons for the Perks :)

  • @Impala Hmmm this sounds cool AND is very unique too.

My swarm of bats teleport was the only reference to the vampire I would have made but nothing more. This would have been (and still will be explained) when I write the background. It was something the Entity did to him.

  • @Impala Yeah I know that his power would need a tweak. I liked the teleportation thing but didn't want a new Nurse (the Devs said that they don't either) so I connected the (global) teleport with a cooldown. So you could either use it mid-chase or to get to places far away (BBQ, Thrilling Tremors etc).

Maybe a teleportation attack is an insta down. This would fit with this token idea well me and my friends had. But rather M1 at least once before you can teleport and you can store up to 3 teleportation tokens (with the cool down of cause).

    What about that?

Ps: I'm totally with you. Vlad should be in this game. But as The Impaler and not The Vampire like you said :)

  • WIP: Linearts for The Impaler (includes P3), Mori from both perspectives, Map

    Still to do: Background, add-ons

  • Perks:

THE ART OF WAR (Lvl 30)

When you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of your trials.

When you hook a Survivor the first time, you learn of 2/3/4 random perks this survivor has equipped.

[Maybe not so strong, but it could give you good information about some nasty perks. Or even to find ot if there is a DS or not, when you have an obsession perk. ]

    UNPREDICTABLE (Lvl 35)

Your connection to the Entity makes you unpredictable to confuse your victims.

Your Terrorradius varies during 60 seconds between 70/60/50 and 130/140/150% of your standard Terrorradius.

    Affects the Lullaby.

    Stacks.

[Here it could be a bit difficult to determine whether you TR is bigger or smaller. So I thought of a timer similar to perks like MYC, Bloodwarden etc. When the icon is black, your TR is bigger, when it's white, it is smaller. ]

    FLIGHT IS FUTILE (Lvl 40)

You will get your victims at all costs.

When performing a lunge attack, you lunge 20/25/30% further and your cool down of a successful hit is decreased by 5/10/15%. The cool down of a missed attack is increased by 20/25/30%.

[I would like to have a perk which extends your lunge (RIP Dead Hard). An alternative would be to make it quicker. The numbers could vary of cause. Just an example.]

  • @ReikoMori what I mean is, that if somebody hides f.e. on auto heaven behind some rubbish you can stalk them as GF but not as Myers because somehow the amount of the survivor that needs to be exposed to you is way less with GF than with Myers. I tried it.

  • This happens on every rank and as survivor/killer too. I went solo (rank 7) against a rank 20 killer, I had an red rank swf group as Rank 11 killer or I had a rank 2 killer as Rank 9 solo survivor. These rounds aren't fun at all but sometimes you can still destroy the higher ranked survivor team when you are lucky.

  • Only EW3 Myers has an increased lunge (God I love that one). Freddy's lunge looks weird because his weapon is short and they matched the animation to the actual hit box. So he has to cover the same distance with his Claws as the Trapper or Doctor with his long weapon. Nothing more.

  • Sorry I forgot Ash. I'm bad XD

  • @Science_Guy maybe we will get more information with the archives. I would really like to.

  • @Ember_Hunter Yes maybe Jeff is more the late 30s guy. I only thought that his beard makes him a lot older than he actually is.

@ShrekIsHot I always thought hin a bit older, because he had to work a lot before he was taken.

  • I would like to test it. Like a different game mode or something like that.

  • That could be nice but I would prefer more emotes than voice overs. Something like the middle finger when you are hooked (for all those campers) and emotes for killers like laughing, slit your throat and a specific one for each killer (f.e. Myers' head tilt)

  • my-image (1).png

This is my Tier List. I play normally at rank 7. Left is best, right the worst. The Freddy positioning is with Deam Pallets. Else I would put him somewhere in Mid Tier.

  • @Kind_Lemon

    1. OoO with Sole Survivor is no problem at all if you are the last, but I assume that your Sole Survivor was of lower Tier than OoO so the killer could have actually seen you. Else this would have made it easier.

Your idea to open both exits a bit is interesting, but too complicated. I tried it once and noticed immediately that there is not enough time for this. My other strategy was too luck based (waiting until the last 30s). Sometimes you have to think and act quick.

And yes I thought it would make more sense not to look for the hatch (unless I know where it is of cause), because the killer would too. And when I tried, he found me first or closed in front of me. So I stay away from it. And well... I survived the EGC more often.

  • I had no problem with DL so far. Brought in a Mori, found the poor guy who got bad RNG (or was the obsession because someone had DS), hooked him, tunneled him, mori'd him. Done. Then I played how I usually do: not tunneling any other survivor.

I even considered not to run a mori anymore for this, because the obsession is more likely a player who not uses DS which are often not that good, unlike the actual DS user.

Else I just try to proc a DS to get an easier target.

  • @Kind_Lemon There is enough time. Do you really search for the hatch? I only do against a Nurse or a Billy and/or when I notice that the exits are close together (I automatically watch out for them during the match). Else I sneak to an exit gate, hide (sometimes the killer will search them first before closing the hatch) until he closes the hatch. Then I open the gate for 4s (~20%) so the red light does not show, hide again until the killer checked it and then open it. Spine Chill is highly recommended for this!

This works 75% of all times. Other 25% are exits with LOS, Nurse, Billy or sniping Huntress.

  • @Tsulan Less work for me, when they come to me on their own :) I actually had an swf with a streamer and they all died to EGC because they wanted to save him. The salt in chat was glorious.

  • @Tsulan Nah, too much time consuming. I let them think they are good, save them for last and then laugh at them when they can't get out.

They just want a good show so they get it by just doing gens. How entertaining for the audience.

  • @Otwell121611 That's good to hear :) It's also good to play all killers, even if it's just for the rituals. Problems against a Myers f.e.? Play him and you will notice his weaknesses soon.

  • I recommend playing both killer and survivor, because if you understand the other side you do a lot better.

"If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not feer the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory you gain, you will also suffer a defeat." - Sunzi, The Art of War

Another thing is not to care about tbagging. These people want to get you tilted. Just ignore them and wait for the karma :) This "Save the best for last" strategy works well against swf with mixed ranks because there is usually one good player with a lot weaker ones.

There are always matches you can't win because of different reasons. Just try your best.

A cure against hook swarming swf is actually Freddy. This is a feast. They'll usually disrespect you as Freddy and this is your strength. My best rounds against swf are with Freddy. And I am on rank 7 btw and get a lot mixed red/purple swf.

Freddy is also good to get used to bad matches, because you do not expect to do well.

  • @Farlan You are honorable you know. I was the same too, when I started with DBD last September, but now, 1.5k hours later (yes I'm an addict XD) and on purple ranks, I can rarely be nice anymore because of how exhausting playing killer can be. I have seen the try hards, the toxic, the trolls... I have learned that your opponents won't treat you nice even if you are. I will still get the salt in chat regardless what I do. If I lost they say noob killer, if they were overly altruistic so I stayed near the hook they say camper, if I played well they say my add-ons are op or they lost because I did xyz. Why should I reward them? They wouldn't reward me either when they played well.

Some people are nice, and then I am nice too, but I have learned that I cannot expect mercy as both killer and survivor. So I do not have mercy.

    And this makes me sad...

To be fair, if I'm not playing Nurse and a survivor uses Haddonfield map offering... I won't play seriously if two or more survivors have Balanced Landing. Those houses are zero fun to play around.

@tehshadowman33 yes Haddonfield is horrible for most killers in general and even worse if they have BL. This map needs a rework. But nonetheless I try my best. I do not like The Game either because it's so small and you can never really tell if the killer is up or downstairs. But I just make the best of it.

@EAX what exactly is the screenshot about? I only see you on the staircase and the Clown upstairs.

  • Myers was my first main killer and the only one on P3 right now. But I felt a disturbance in the Force, and begun to play Freddy. He started to become my new main and now with the rework (I really LOVE the palettes) I'm having more and more fun with him. I won't stop playing Myers but I just love Freddy's play style.

I also play Spirit, Wraith and Legion but not as much. Except Nurse, Billy, Bubba and Clown, I play the others for the rituals.

  • I have only played with the pallets so far. I'm testing Tinkerer, Pop goes the Weasel, Ruin and BBQ right now. I'm not sure if Tinkerer affects the Lullaby because M&A definitely doesn't. It works quite well so far and I often could save the gen Tinkerer showed me. I used the Sketch add-ons to teleport more often but I will try without and see what happens.

  • @HatCreature Me too. I'm curious if M&A also reduces the distance where you can see him. f.e. With 32m TR you would see him flicker in and out between 16 and 32m. With M&A this would be between 16 and 24m.

This would only be the case if the flickering is connected to his TR. Else not.

  • They want easy games. Or they use Deliverance and DC because they won't get it if found first. Some don't like the killer or the map etc.

But usually because of easy games they want.

  • 1. The overly altruistic and disrespectful swf when I play Freddy. Nothing is better than having many people asleep and a next victim.

    2. Tombstone taunting Survivors 1m to the exit when they do not know you have it.

    3. Save the best (and often toxic) player for last. When you finally get him, carry him to the hatch and close it in his face/ mori him on it.

  • I think BBQ or Thrilling Tremors with PGTW will be amazing. As maybe M&A, if his lullaby changes with the TR.

  • @Bongbingbing They said that the Dream Pallets would be a set of 3 add-ons and hinted the Garden Rake.

So it would be Garden Rake, Prototype Claws and Paint Thinner for this.

  • Reading Fanfiction, being at the forum

  • @PigNRun They did the same thing here like with Ghostface. Give the killer a power which is countered by the Survivors. Great.....

I think he should be able to teleport to any gen too.
