I can confirm, your MMR will not start at a default if you've already been playing, since MMR has already been running in the background though it's not been used to create matches.
If you have a new account, it will start at a default, and it settles after about 10 games.
Will we see the rating and how it changes once it is live or will it just be in the background?

Not only on console, but I noticed that on PC as well. Freddy on Lery's is death for me. Especially with the new auras.

If they're going to lock us into one killer they could at least just let us choose the killer we want to be and then let us switch around before auto switching us to the killer we selected or something. Looking and messing with other killers is one of a few things you can do while waiting in a 5min+ queue off prime time.
Not only that but most killer knowledge transfers over, outside of maybe Nurse/Huntress/Spirit, so you'd probably want to set the persons MMR to half of their highest killer MMR, or they'll stomp bad players.
I like this Idea.

I don't think that's how the new matchmaking system works. I literally just got Oni and I'm rank 16 killer (cause I haven't played in awhile, p3 Pig main though lol), and got thrown into a lobby of fully decked all red rank swf group that had medkits with insta-heals, and toolboxes that had the iridescent cog add-ons, within 10seconds of queing
I don't really mind the change where we can't switch our killer though. It just means you have to commit to a killer when you search for a match. I play the game pretty care-free so I don't mind people bringing keys or anything, since I don't care about any unwritten rules people make I will occasionally bring a Mori when I feel like it. It's just a game and I wish more people would play it casually, I actually like being nice with the survivors and just farming points with the last one or two I leave alive.
Edit: I now saw your comment to someone else stating it hasn't been implemented yet. However if they are doing that they should make it the same for survivors since add-ons and perks still aren't shared between survivor characters, which essentially is their gear.
Cause if they only applied it to killer then a survivor could just use a low rank to get into the match and then switch to the survivor they have decked out and that would defeat the purpose of the change. And wouldn't be fair to a killer since the killer can't switch to deal with the higher leveled/geared group. Just cause they can't see the killer at the start doesn't mean they should be able to abuse a new matchmaking system to give them easy killers and bloodpoints for some higher level character.
However implementing that to both parties would be a good way for people to get their lower ranking survivors and killers up without having to worry about one person just being de-ranked and have a completely decked load-out
Your skill as survivor doesn't depend on perks. Or at least it shouldn't.
Let's see this example:
I have 2.9k hrs combined on killer and survivor. And approx 65% of this is on survivor. I rarely play Quentin (Daily only), so I don't have all the perks I want. I play with what I got. My usual setup is this: Iron Will, Spine Chill, DS and Kindred, whereas Spine Chill is my must have. Let's say I only have Kindred (1), Off the Record (3), We'll Make It (1) and maybe Unbreakable (1). I will have a harder time since I'm not used to this setup mostly (i.e. that I am loud while injured), but this doesn't hinder my ability to loop a jungle gym. This depends on my skill as player, not on perks itself. Sure having DH or not can make a huge difference, but if you are good you can compensate this.
Now think the poor rank 16 killer who would go against me because I chose Quentin. He would not have a great time against me.
I hope you get what I'm saying.
On the other hand: Each killer has an unique power. With some you will be great (Freddy for me), but with others you might struggle or havn't enough practise with (i.e. Billy, Nurse, Hag, Oni), so you get matched to appropiate opponents.
I don't know what happens to matchmaking atm, but I also had some low rank killers in my lobby (rank 1 survivor vs rank 10 or even rank 16). i can truely understand your frustration. matchmaking has been broken for a long time now.
-
I also noticed this:
Both used and unused spots have the same aura color. I don't know if this was intended or if it's a bug though. What I know is, that I get confused by this.

It makes sense. But I played a lot of games and it is not like you said. My worst killer is hag. I played her 3 times and I was against very good survivors rank 1-5. And i am bad as hag but it is bullshit for me to be placed against rank 15 or 12 because i know how to loop and i would ever win. So for me it doesn't make sense.
It is not in use yet. But they already implemented it.

So, we're not supposed to be allowed to alter our killer choice based on survivors picked and/or items they are carrying? Or spend bloodpoints while waiting for a match? Talk about lighting a dumpster on fire.
If you could change the killer during Matchmaking or in the lobby, you could abuse the upcoming MMR system by picking a killer you rarely play and then switching to your main killer to get more inexperienced opponents and have an easy match.
-
This is no bug, but a new feature for the upcoming MMR Matchmaking system.
-
Yep. Medium settings 75% resolution and 1080p.
CPU AMD FX8320 and a Radeon R7 on windows 10. Had no problems so far, but since about 30min before the update came out it was getting messy.
Server location: Frankfurt and London (I get connected to both)
Ping: about 40-60ms
-
I got the same problem and I know a lot of people who do as well. Messes with skillchecks and movement mostly, but also affects your camera when you do fast moves in a 360 or similar.
Also playing on PC. Ping is mostly 40-60ms with a stable connection.

I literally have 6 far generators in my FOV in this screenshot, but while in-game I can barely see where I can teleport to.
(Cries in Freddy Main) Yeah. All auras are ######### in Freddy's World. Even for survivor. Worst on Ormond and Coldwind Farm.
-
@xlRadioactive said:
I played a game as Killer on Ormond and didn't notice until the end that one guy had Object of Obsession all the time. I literally didn't see him.
Also when I played on Coldwind and hooked a survivor with BBQ I couldn't tell if a survivor was working on a far gen or not and just prayed that I was guessing right
Can confirm this. I could barely see the hooked survivor across the map and the one going for the save (Kindred), as well as seeing Survivors with BBQ through the corn when I played Freddy. I was like: "Is that a Gen or 2 Survivors healing?" Freddy also makes the auras even worse since they seem to be dependent on the lighting.
-
They use sets to reduce clipping. I like the Nea outfit too but I hate masks (screams "toxic" for me). So I probably won't buy it unless they somehow give the option to disable masks.
-
@HeyAssButt said:
Am I the only one who finds the new survivor auras really creepy? They look like little aliens running around. Especially the females.
I think they look more like insects and bugs but aliens fits too.
-
this is because the new matchmaking system considers your rating/skill with every killer seperately. if you are good with nurse (=high rating), you will get survivors with higher rating against you. but if you rarely play wraith or don't do well with him (= low rating) you will get more inexperienced opponents who also have a low rating. if the killer could switch the character after entering the lobby this could be abused by selecting a killer with low rating to get easy opponents and then switching to your main killer to get an easy match.
survivors on the other hand are 95% the same with the only difference in size and sounds.
I understand that a toxic last minute switch is cancer. the only thing i could tell you is to deal with it. get a last sec key? think ahead, kill this one fast and prepare for swf. last sec switch to someone with a flashlight? prepare for flashlight saves or clicky clicking.
some people just used the time to level another character and switch last sec to their main survivor with no bad intention.
-
I can confirm that there are micro lags since the update and the auras look awful. I can't see Survivors who are far away with BBQ or any other aura perk like Kindred.
The lags turn Skillchecks to lucky hits as well as your movement.
-
I don't know what it is for sure, but i get micro lags every time since the patch. I guess it's something with the servers, because my connection is fine.
-
Can you see the person on the hook at the far end? Or the other person running near by? Kindred in use here.
You can barely see the slugged person.
Same. Only with a hooked person.
[Edit: Killer Aura. I sadly didn't get a screenshot during BBQ with my Freddy on Coldwind Farm, but I could barely see the Auras of BBQ through the corn. I was like: "Is that a gen or 2 Survivors healing eah other???"
End Edit]
Old Auras:
Please redo the change to the auras. THey are so hard to see now and look so weired. I play on medium btw.
[Edit 2 (sorry for that): I also noticed that the Auras get worse when you are in Freddy's Dream World.]

They shouldn't increase the time. That's incredibly unfair to people who experience issues with the game outside of their control. Instead, I think players should receive reputations, and if you DC too often, you get a bad reputation and get put in a type of bad sport lobby. You stay there until your reputation improves. DC penalties give up to 1 hour of timeout. Reputation would be based mainly on how often you disconnect from matches vs how often you finish matches.
Like those servers in other online games where they put cheaters until they stopped cheating for some time?
That would be an interesting alternative.
Combine this with a lobby symbol for your reputation so others can see what a bad guy you are. I'm thinking of something like the karma in TTT where you get something like "crude" or "trigger happy" when you shoot the wrong guys.

I was thinking of other ideas you could use for perks
- Blood Echo: Yoda and Obi-Wan feeling the death Aayla Secura
- Infectious fright: Aayla Secura, Adi-Mundi and Plo Koon screaming
- Gear Head: General Grievous replaces the skull (It would make sense with him since he was a great strategist)
- Dead Man's Switch: Boba Fett falling to his death in the Sarlacc Pit
- Retribution: Dooku about to get his head cut off
- Forced penance: Vader Choking that resistance soldier
I like the first three and will do them when I have the time.
Dead Man's Switch: I thought about that too, but Boba Fett has survived the Sarlacc Pit, since he will be part of The Mandalorian Season 2. Maybe Sidious falling down on the 2nd Death Star?
Retribution: Good idea, but I am not sure I can do it properly in the given art style.
Forced Penance: I already have a Force choking Vader for Iron Grasp. It would not be ideal to use this twice. Maybe Darth Maul when he chokes Bo-Katan Kryze in that mandalorian base to get their support.

1. Where did they go? Achievement would have to get changed... Somehow.
2.
The SKELETON KEY has a fixed chance (let's say 1% or whatever the vanilla chance is) to be found in a chestThis way, I wouldn't feel cheated as killer, if someone escapes via Key.Oh really? Someone having a 1/100 per chest to gain something that could just let them leave if they get it? +If a survivor uses them in 3 surv situation would screw over their team even more.
In 2 surv not much would change if they get it.
1) I forgot about that Achievement in this one. In my other post I used an ultra rare add-on to get all out. I have no fix for this atm while keeping the Skeleton Key for in the match only.
2) Well.... If in a 3 ppl scenario someone uses a key, there are already 4 gens done. it is possible to get the last gen done with 2 ppl left. let's say our key-user was chased when he escaped via hatch. now the killer closes the hatch and normally EGC would start. depending on the killer and the distance between the exits, you don't have a chance to get out because of the timing. 2 ppl are screwed. without the EGC those 2 could still do gens and try to escape. it was just an idea, because i hate those people who leave via hatch and then EGC ######### you up.
I'm completely fine if someone gets a key without using plunderers and escapes with it. i don't like it if they can just all leave because they used voice chat. the vanilla chance to find it is completely fine. i don't know what percentage it is.
-
4 years? What kind of bad guys are you playing against? I got mine after about 6 or 7 tries, where the biggest problem was the corn map I got every time until I used The Game Offering. No one hid in a locker when I tried it, they rather escaped through hatch (you couldn't close it back then). The last time I did this build was about a year ago and I got all. No lockers involved.
I don't have an up to date build, but my latest was this: PWYF (for not being a slug all the time), Bamboozle (your ace in the hole), Brutal Strength (for all the pallets) and Ruin (to slow the game down).
I only stalked, never hit people after I got tokens and butchered them all at 1 Gen left.

I’m not saying go against the realism of it. I’m just saying that I know myself and others don’t want cosmetics we payed for to randomly be all bloodied up during the game without it being our choice.
If you are not against realism (=the blood on the clothes after being hit), then why do you have a problem with it? The bloody effect goes away after the match. It doesn't harm your cosmetic in any way.

NOED used to be incredibly overpowered back in the day (noed & bitter murmur combo anyone?!), it's gone through various changes since then and honestly I think it's in a great spot as a Hex perk.
It's removable from the game before it even activates, just by doing totems. It also means the killer is down a perk for the majority (if not all) of the game. The game isn't just about doing generators as a survivor, it's about escaping - and doing the totems is part of that escape so I actually disagree with the OP's opinion that good survivors are stuck by NOED, I would very much think that good survivors outplay it every match.
Yep. I can confirm this. Even if not all totems get cleansed before, good survivors know where totems are and can find it easily. I haven't played in those old times, but I've seen videos. It was indeed very strong.
-
I can understand where your opinion comes from.
I, for myself, think, that if you don't have Iron Will or if the Spirit uses Stridor, you have lost the chase once you got hit. It is literally EZ mode. If she has good ears (aka Headset) and basic understanding where you might go, she will find you. No matter what. You on the other hand might be in her TR or in chase and won't hear her footsteps, because the music is too loud.
Change that, the rest is completely fine. It would also make Father's Glasses more viable.
-
It's the combination that is very strong. Especially during the end game. Every time when I still had my DS and got saved with BT I got out. Even with the exit on the other side of the map.
You want to slug at one gen left. One Unbreakable counters it completely, as well as Adrenaline. It only takes a Survivor who goes for the last gen and completes it in that time. All for nothing. I did this once and I coudn't even blame the Nurse for DCing.
Sprint Burst: Be outpositioned on a gen in a dead zone? No problem! Sprint away!
DH:
Press E to get dedicated.Got greedy on a loop? Made a mistake? Press E to live.Adrenaline: Why should I heal? Get the last gen already!
DS: 60s invincibility. Especially if you are next to a locker. Literally the "Get out of the prison" card during the EGC.
BT: Unhooked in front of the Killer? No problem! I don't get punished for it. I don't care if he get's tunneled. He has DS anyways.
Unbreakable: Killer wants a 4k? Killer sluggs for pressure? Not with me!
I play both sides and I can understand why some Killers don't like these perks as well as survivors who use them.
It always depends on HOW you use these perks. I for myself use DS because I hate to get tunneled (or even worse: tunnel-moried). Not to abuse it. If I use BT, I use it to get you out of the Basement vs a camping Killer, not to farm you off the hook without punishment.

Then you got killers like the spirit, hag and trapper that can make getting to gates impossible, it really shouldn't be allowed on all killers.
So can Nurse, Oni, Demo Billy, Wraith with Windstorm, Legion, Freddy with Snares, Huntress on a good Map and good aim....
BBQ shouldn't be allowed on high mobility/ ranged killers either? Sorry, but no. Hardcore restricting perks to cedrtain killers is not good at all. It is bad enough that certain perks don't work well with certain killers because of their power: f.e. Monitor&Abuse/Distressing, Insidious on Freddy/Huntress, Sloppy Butcher, Hex: 3rd Seal, Franklin's.
There are also a ton of Survivor Perks which can be "abused" by mediocre players: f.e. Borrowed Time, Dead Hard, Decisive Strike, Adrenaline (aka the 2nd Chance Perks)
-
Many killers use it to have a chance against quick gens at the beginning (aka Gen Rush). They want you to punish for not doing Totems during the match and only focussing on Gens. It is totally fair. It is no problem to get rid of it, if everyone does at least one totem by themselves or if you have one person with Small Game or a map.
I cleanse the totem if I see it. Period. It is more difficult if you play solo, so a Totem counter would be quite nice.
No need to remove it. Better fix the gen times and the early game.
-

Don't try to abuse DS and that won't happen ; )
Wouldn't you do it, if you really get tunneled? Sorry, but I won't stay on the ground for a minute and then get picked up, because my mates are egoistic. And I'm really talking of tunneling here. Like when you get off the hook, and the killer just wants you again. No toxic behaviour on my part (I hate to play like that) or your mate farming you off the hook without BT. I'm facing so many tunnelers, I can't just not use DS because if I don't, I'd die.
This is why I use lockers for DS. That is not abusing. I just want to get some air after being unhooked. Not to do crazy stuff during the 60s invincibility. And if I try that crazy stuff (because we are in desperate need) and get slugged, I'm fine with that.
-
Spirit: Our statistics showed that Stridor is used by over 80% of Spirit players. To counter this abuse, we decided now, that the Spirit can't hear sounds of pain while phasing. This also gives Survivors a fair chance to avoid the spirit while phasing if they don't use Iron Will.
Freddy: Removed Bloodlust when Freddy uses a snare/Pallet to be consistent with other killers. Also we decided to remove Freddy's ability to put Survivors asleep with a hit, since they automatically fall asleep over time. Therefore increased the possibility of Skillchecks in the Dream World and removed Clocks, since players find it annoying to go across the map to wake up.

Because survivors don't have to try. You can literally do a gens with one hand now so nothing surprises anymore might as well just start with exit gates open
No I'm just creative when I try to dodge the killer. And that includes lockers. And well.... sometimes I misjudged the timing and got trapped.
I only hate they can trap you in the locker for hours. They do this on purpose, because after 5-10s I would have used Head-On if I had it. No need to stay there with the Chainsaw up until I get crows.

How do you even end up in that situation?
1) Dodging Bubba and misjudging when he starts the saw. So he ends up at 99% and traps me in the locker. Same for Billy but less common.
2) DS. And the killer having more patience than you think.

Just had a likely 4k (guaranteed 3k) turn into a 2k because I picked a Claudette up while looking at a wall and some David not even in my FoV blinded me.
Sure, just one more screwed up way for survivors to get extra chances for no reason sometimes.
Yep. I know that M&A as well as Shadowborn can mess with blinds (larger FOV) but when you are not using these, I expect that I can only be blinded from directions I can see and not from the back of my head where I have no eyes.

It was shown in the video that even without addons you overheat for over 25% of the total overheat meter just to use the chainsaw to dash with.
It also was shown to have an extremely slow overheat reduction in said video as well unless your fully overheated.
Like I said: Anti Slug-Billy. And I'm completely fine with that. No fun depipping because Billy happened to have Infectious with everyone around.
-
If I have Iron Will and the Spirit doesn't use Stridor, I'm fine with her. the mindgames are fun and a nice challenge. But no Iron Will or the use of Stridor is EZ mode from the moment you get hit. She hears you. And we all know Spirit's have good ears (and headphones).
Good (snare) Freddys can be a pain too, if they chose only anti gen perks, but as a Freddy Main myself, I can deal with it. (Know your enemy etc.)
Legion is annoying. They tend to disturb you all the time. But I think it is more because I can't endure them any longer (because of Archive missions etc.).
-
This is why I fake, 360 and then pick up, look at walls, use Infectious or play Doc.
But I noticed that they can blind you somehow, even if you can't see them in your FOV. The only thing i really hate about flashlights.
-
Indifferent, because I can wait until tuesday to try it myself.
-

waiting 15s just to use a chainsaw is what has killed billy no one will play him, survivors with 20 hours on survivor complain about him being op after versing a player with 1000 hours in billy
the 15s cooldown is initiated when you hold your charge for too long instead of using it directly. It is meant to be anti slugging, so Billy can't chainsaw everyone quickly (which isn't fun).
