Why hard-buff bad mechanics to try and make them slightly less bad instead of just reworking/removing them? EW1 almost always ends up being a net negative on michael's power: it slows down your early game and gives up your surprise element as soon as you reach tier 2, and all of this because there is a very small chance that you get a 4-man slugfest.

If EW1 is so bad to the point where you'd want to buff it to almost being nonexistent, why not just rework it?

It could be a secondary power, like you can turn it on and off to make you completely undetectable (spine chill, etc...) at the cost of consuming your stalking progress.

As for Scratched mirror, you can just decrease michael speed to 4.2 m/s, decrease his lunge and give him wallhacks while stalking.

That is an interesting way to rework EWI. Consuming stalk progress for pure undetecability seems nice. You can hit EWIII 7 times normally, which I never ever did in any Myers game, nor did I play against a Myers who did. Not even with insta stalk. So using stalk for this seems a good idea.

  • @Avarice10 said:

Definitely not, Myers is one of the strongest killers, he doesn't have a lot of mobility, and a slow start can really hurt him, but he has a lot of snowball potentional and he is the only Killer who can have an infinite T3 and mori survivors instantly.

He is add on reliant in high ranks, but he has some great add ons. Tier 1 Myers can also be more dangerous than T3. Lerys with the scratched mirrior, gl.

Maybe true on low to mid ranks where people don't really know how not to feed him.

His slugging potential is no good when Unbreakable is a common perk in higher ranks.

Infinite EWIII and Tombstone or just the TS piece needs a LOT of stalk and can be easily countered by not feeding him and doing gens. The Tombstone also heavily reduces his movespeed to 94.65% in EWI and to 104.65% in EWII and EWIII. So PWYF is a must have.

Mirror Myers on Lèry's needs a special build and is countered by common perks like Spine Chill and by... well... running straight (he's only 105% without blood lust).

He's not one of the strongest killers. He's the killer with the worst early game and can be easily denied of his power (if you know how). He's only strong against weaker teams where people like to camp pallets or if they think tbagging in your face or generally feeding you is a good idea.

  • Short answer: Yes.

    Long answer:

Myers' unique 3 Tiers should stay. No removing EWI etc. So how would I buff him to be able to keep up with GF?

    1. Buff EWI. It's his biggest weakness more a liability than something you can work with. If you don't get out of it asap, gens will fly. So I suggest to buff his MS from 105% to 110% and/or give him his detection immunity back (no spine chill, Premonition and no Object at all).

    2. Addons:

-Scratched Mirror: ms still 105% and detection immunity for the real old Jumpscare.

-Vanity Mirror: Buff ms from 107% to 110% in EWII. No ms penalty in EWI. Reduces TR by 4m. Yes you could have 0m TR EWII Myers with this, M&A and Dead Rabbit, but you would have a red light and would be detectable with object etc.

-Lock of Hair: adds 40s to EWIII for +2.5 more stalk points (instead of 5.0)

-Mirror Shard Addon series: The most useless add-ons. Just rework them.

    3. Buff Stalking. Multistalk, make it distance independent (like GF). Let Myers (as well as GF) have collision while stalking. Bubba, Billy, Plague and Oni all can trap you in a corner and insta down you. Why not our Stalky Boi?

  • What bothers me more is the slit at the right side. I think it is for helping with clipping since all long skirts have some sort of slit (which are 90% horrible). But on other skirts it moves and behaves at least like a slit skirt. Kate's dress is just stiff there. Either let it move freely or close the slit (which I like more). Also the sleeves don't have any textures from the inside. They are invisible. Just go on a Gen and look at her from different angles.

  • That is exactly what I was thinking when I heard the new sounds. A dying horse. I laughed so hard XD

  • They are there, but the map is so dark, that you can't see them properly.

  • Off the Record has also no effect, and I bet No Mither too.

  • I got microlags. Most noticeable while moving fast with Chainsaw sprint, Feral Frenzy, Lethal Rush etc.

  • So the only Hex perks this really benefits are Ruin, Blood Favour, 3rd Seal and maybe Noed, Retribution and TOTH. But the latter are at risk since some may come across the idea to just cleanse all dull totems.

    Great....

  • Hello darkness my old friend.....

    20200909122638_1.jpg

    PC, low quality.

  • Here's 3 perks that I came up with when I had an idea for a new killer some time ago.

    @LapisInfernalis said:

Me and my friends had the idea of Vlad being a DBD killer. Here is what we got.

This is still WIP so there will be more to it. But I would like your opinion on this.

    Still to do: Background, Perks

    Name: Vlad Drăculea

    Origin: Romania

    Gender: male

    Terror Radius: 32m

    Speed: 115%

    Height: Tall

    Weapon: Sword

Memento Mori (1st person): He summons a wooden pole in his hands, while the Survivor tries to crawl away (like Jake in the opening game trailer). Vlad then impales the Survivor through his gut and sticks the pole into the ground.

    Power: Armata Strigoi

You have the power of the Night. Every time you hit a survivor you get a Token up to a maximum of 3 Tokens. Use your Activate Ability button to transform into a swarm of bats and teleport to a location of your choice to consume one Token (like Nurse). The range depends on the channeling time. The Teleportation has a Cooldown of 30s.

The more victims die on the hooks or by your hands, the more powerful you'll get. Every Survivor who is killed or sacrificed will join your Army of Strigoi. The Survivor will spawn as Illusion (I call them Strigoi from now on) on a random spot for 20s. After this he will be invisible for 5s before respawning at another random location. Locations are: Totem Spawns, Generators, Exit Gates, Chests and other objectives. The Strigoi will act like a normal survivor, are seen by you as Aura and give an audio visual cue to you when a living Survivor is in a 8m radius to the Strigoi.

[Edit: The Strigoi would (when spawned at a gen) sit down and "repair" the generator. A Totem would be "cleansed" etc. Strigoi would also have collision so they are not distinguishable from a living survivor. Which means: If the Strigoi "cleanses" a totem you can't do this until it's despawned.]

Passive: You know how to keep your victims captured. When hooking a Survivor you nail them with a wooden pole onto the hook, making an escape impossible.

Survivors are not able to unhook themselves unless they use Deliverance.

Edit2 (this is also in a post further down, sorry for that. I was a bit tired):

    Perks:

THE ART OF WAR (Lvl 30)

When you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of your trials.

When you hook a Survivor the first time, you learn of 2/3/4 random perks this survivor has equipped.

[Maybe not so strong, but it could give you good information about some nasty perks. Or even to find ot if there is a DS or not, when you have an obsession perk. ]

    UNPREDICTABLE (Lvl 35)

Your connection to the Entity makes you unpredictable to confuse your victims.

Your Terrorradius varies during 60 seconds between 70/60/50 and 130/140/150% of your standard Terrorradius.

    Affects the Lullaby.

    Stacks.

[Here it could be a bit difficult to determine whether you TR is bigger or smaller. So I thought of a timer similar to perks like MYC, Bloodwarden etc. When the icon is black, your TR is bigger, when it's white, it is smaller. ]

    FLIGHT IS FUTILE (Lvl 40)

You will get your victims at all costs.

When performing a lunge attack, you lunge 20/25/30% further and your cool down of a successful hit is decreased by 5/10/15%. The cool down of a missed attack is increased by 20/25/30%.

[I would like to have a perk which extends your lunge (RIP Dead Hard). An alternative would be to make it quicker. The numbers could vary of cause. Just an example.]

WIP: Artworks for The Impaler (includes P3), the Mori (both perspectives) and the Map

Still to do: Add-ons and Background

    ARTWORKS:

    Perks:

THE ART OF WAR (Lvl 30) (Uncommon/Uncommon/Rare)

If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of your trials.

When you hook a Survivor the first time, you learn of 2/3/4 random perks this survivor has equipped.

[Maybe not so strong, but it could give you good information about some nasty perks. Or even to find ot if there is a DS or not, when you have an obsession perk. This is more for newer or inecperienced players.]

    UNPREDICTABLE (Lvl 35) (Uncommon/Rare/Very Rare)

Your connection to the Entity makes you unpredictable to confuse your victims.

Your Terrorradius varies during 60 seconds between 70/60/50 and 130/140/150% of your standard Terrorradius.

    Affects the Lullaby.

    Stacks.

[Here it could be a bit difficult to determine whether you TR is bigger or smaller. So I thought of a timer similar to perks like MYC, Bloodwarden etc. When the icon is black, your TR is bigger, when it's white, it is smaller. I also would like perks to affect the Lullaby (Freddy/Huntress) as well. This could be quite scary.]

FLIGHT IS FUTILE (Lvl 40) (Rare/Very Rare/Very Rare)

You will get your victims at all costs.

When performing a lunge attack, you lunge 20/25/30% further and your cool down of a successful hit is decreased by 5/10/15%. The cool down of a missed attack is increased by 20/25/30%.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/188750/what-topic-do-you-wish-would-be-settled-already

The two topics I hate the most are:

"Blah blah Spirit blah blah rage!"

"Blah blah DS blah blah blah!"

    NOED. Never forget NOED.

    • Old BT effect. I liked it way more than the new Deep Wounds Effect.
    • Old Freddy's Aura reading and Ninja Build
    • Ultra Rare offering for Survivor. There hasn't been one since they retired the Moon Bouquets
    • Old perk rarities.
  • @Todgeweiht @Gcarrara @Boosted_Dwight @RobotInPyjamas

I did it: Full version out now. (See the link in the OP) I have already updated it for the next patch (4.2.0)

  • Myers TR is 16m in EWII, but I think that had already been mentioned by others.

I also think Vanity Mirror is quite weak in comparison to Scratched Mirror. Why?

    1) - 7% MS through all tiers. This makes EWI to a nightmare with 97% MS (down from 105%), and in EWII with 107% (down from 115%).

    2) No Undetectable Status. You need to mindgame/hide the red light. You are not immune against OoO.

    3) It requires specific perks to work properly (M&A, Tinkerer etc) and give you more sneak potential.

    My solution:

1)Reduces movement speed during EWII to 4.4ms (110%). EWI is still 105%.

    2) Reduces TR by 8m. Does not stack.

These are so good. I wish I could do stuff like this on console. I hate how limited we are.

Better Together looks amazing. Is the Yoda perk Spine Chill?

I forgot to mention that I really would like if dbd had an in-game Workshop where you can put these, so everyone can use them, even console players. It would also make things more easy for me to give perks other background variations. Maybe we will get lucky one day :)

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/187350/why-are-pc-players-so-sweaty

It's just your experience. I posted about the opposite thing 3 days ago and no one agreed with me. In my experience, console players are super sweaty. Top tier items, perks, and solely focused on gens. Hide when in the terror radius and everything like that. I had to switch off crossplay because I just don't know how to counter gameplay like that. It isn't fun at all.

Genrushing + Hiding + 2nd chance perks + Awesome items = Impossible to me.

You are right. It goes for both sides.

Sometimes I get sweaty Killers/Survivors from my own platform (PC) and sometimes they are from console. But they are sweaty in a different way.

Console Survivors are more like you described, while Console killers often proxy camp more.

But since we all have black sheep on our platforms..... I haven't got problems with crossplay.

I'm asking why though. Like, doesn't it get tiring being "that guy" who uses DS, unbreakable, adrenaline, deadhard? Like, sure perks like for the people, autodidact and solidarity aren't meta but they're fun to use.

The problem is that you have to be prepared for the worst. I use only 2 real meta perks: DS and Iron Will. The others being Kindred and Spine Chill. I would gladly change DS to something more fun, like Head On, but sadly there are so many killers who tunnel or teammates who farm off the Hook without BT. That is why DS stays.

And ######### is with everyone talking about object of obsession swf groups? Like, is that actually a thing? And GOD I hate going against PC spirits. Literally the most disgusting thing ever just because you pretty much NEED iron will and lucky break to go against them

Yes it is. Object in combination with swf can be quite hard. They tell their mates everything. Where you are, where you put traps etc. They also tease you very often and are good looper. If you play Freddy that is one person you almost can't get hooked if they are not cocky.

I hate spirit too. If they use Stridor it is all over. Else Spirit is fine.

And breakout could be a rebel soldier riding an speeder bike.

    Oh that is great!

  • This looks like Dance With Me + Lithe for me.

That no perks thingy is a bug.

  • @Todgeweiht @TheLastGreatStar @lugZas_exe @Boosted_Dwight @RobotInPyjamas

Here are some screenshots, and also a little preview of some new perks I did in addition to those in my updated OP. Maybe you would like to guess what these perks are.

    20200831204625_1.jpg

    And for Killer:

    20200831204215_1.jpg

I did enough perks so far to roll out the first version of this collection very soon. Maybe with the new chapter. I will inform you (if you want) and also post the link here.

This collection will still get new perks as I get inspired.

  • Survivor: Spine Chill and Kindred. I get paranoid as ######### when I don't have Spine Chill. Kindred is a must-have as solo q player.

Killer: depends. Pop on Freddy, M&A was my addiction on Myers, now it is PWYF & Nemesis, Devour Hope on Deathslinger... that is all I know.

  • @Mercês said:

Most of the people I know on PC play for win not for fun. I've always saw PC players as hardcore players, because why invest so much more money on a computer if you can just buy a console. PC players want to win, want to have every competitive advantage possible, which translates on DbD through better framerates, Nvidia game filters, and M&K.This also translates on a gameplay and gameplan involving doing whatever it's necessary to win faster as possible.

I just don't like to play on console. I only have a small room and a small TV, so PC it is. And even while I'm on PC, that thing is 5 years old and wasn't the best when I got it. All the graphical and engine updates payed their tolls. From 60fps on high 2 years ago I now play on low with everything between 10-60fps. Lèry's is the worst. Sometimes I have 20fps during the chase on some maps. So playing PC does not always come with an advantage.

I first and foremost do what my role wants me to do. Survive as Survivor and kill as Killer. But I can also have fun. When I play killer it is mostly because the Survivors do something funny,as Survivor it is mostly me or others who do funny things.

But you are right on one point: more PC players play more competitive than console players.

  • 1. As Killer we were trained by toxic 4man swf, Object of Obsession, BNP, the old Insta Heal

    2. As Survivor we were trained by God Nurse, Crack Billy and Stridor Spirtit.

I always try to be fair but it is not always possible. I will do my best. If that means slugging for the 4k, then slugging it is. But I won't camp or tunnel if it is not necessary.

  • @ProfoundEnding said:

I only use one charm on my survivor's. If I equip more then that the waist looks way too busy. And it has to match my survivors outfit at least by color. I usually just use the nectar vial, mostly because it's so universal and it is of my favorite charms.

I love that Vial too. It's a really nice charm, also for some killers. I use it on the Clown and Doctor at the moment.

  • I like your ideas. Here are mine:

    Oblivious Status Effect:

    - You are Oblivious of the Killer's doing. You can neither hear the Killer's Terrorradius nor see his Aura while being Oblivious.

This would fix the broken Object of Obsession vs Freddy and Nemesis players. Sadly it would also nerf Kindred against freddy, but I think that is OK.

    -Autodidact:

Incresed the chance of getting a skillcheck by 30%.

This perk seemingly gives you no Skillchecks at all. So increasing that would be a nice buff to get tokens faster and more consistent.

  • The reason there was a complete different one. That killer just slugged all 4 people. It is boring but (which is right) is not bannable. If you don't want them to kobe or if you don't find them, that is probably the wisest thing to do.

This one here did it because he assumingly had DS and Unbreakable and wanted to punish him for it.

I don't know man, for me this is unsportsmanlike. At least when I face an Object, I definitely know that person has the perk and can act accordingly. But that killer just bullied a survivor because he assumed that he had these perks. Slug for about a mitnute because of DS... OK... or because of strategic reasons... OK.... but that? This is far beyond every strategic slugging I ever faced.

  • First of all: Sorry for that experience. It is always annoying if slugging goes this far. I, for myself, don't do such ######### because of certain perks. The only exception is Object of Obsession where I either ignore the player or tunnel them to the Entity. I just hate that perk and is completely OP versus Freddy (my Main).

I hope you reported that player, because this is more than just slugging to counter DS. This was on purpose. It was to punish you for 2 perks you might have not even had. I had a guy once who tunneled me because 2 of my random teammates had a bnp (at least that's what he said in the end) .

And what do you mean with crosshair btw? Did the player have a program which showed one?

I just use a simple diamond shape cut out of paper, which I hang with a thread on my screen. It is not very accurate, but I never get her axes right, because the trajectory doesn't start in the middle of the scream. It rather starts slightly to the left and a bit lower. Deathslinger is no problem though.

Or nurse. She always had spaghetti arms.

I mean there may have been some nonsense Freddy hits I've had in my time from a player with bad ping. But the majority? That's hardly likely. Plus can you really say all the people who also experience it with Freddy are also facing bad ping Freddys. His lunge and Huntress hatchet hit boxes are the worst for most people when it comes to BS hits; https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/185537/which-killers-get-the-most-bs-hits-on-you/p1

Is this a thing where people with bad ping decide to play Freddy and none of the other killers 😉 What ever it is about Freddy he has a lunge that reaches farther than it should.

All I know is that I get more bs Hatchet or Deathslinger or Legion hits than BS Freddy hits.

Maybe it is a self fulfilling prophecy.

  • @Peanits Can you tell us what is considered a weak connection? Or is that one of these things better be not known to reduce abusing?

I fear that if the limit is too high up, I will still get hit through windows even if I did 2 steps after the vault already.

And another question that just came to me: Will it fix the hatch problem during a hatch stand-off, where you spam M1 to get through the hatch but the killer always gets to close it first?

  • @Dwight_Fairfield said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1570167#Comment_1570167

Oh my goodness I feel like you guys have never faced Freddy and his go-go gadget arm hits before.

I am Freddy main, but I roughly play 2x the time survivor than killer.

I don't know why everyone keeps saying Freddy has an omega lunge. He hasn't. Have you ever played against Legion with his butter knife? Their hit looks always strange because of the tiny weapon and their short height. Same for Freddy.

Or maybe you just get killers with higher ping which makes it even more weird. I have 30-50ms to the server, so I expect the hits to be accurate.

  • I ignore them. Sometimes they follow you around and tbag, which is good because it is one person off the gens.

When they notice that I ignore them, they often get cocky and make mistakes, which mostly leads to them DCing or me laughing at them on the hook.

i've been in plenty of matches where all 4 were running SC, and even if I was 'stealth' killer they'd be 50 yards away before i came up to the gen.

it's about as much gameplay as breaking pallets all game on Ormond

And why don't I have these problems? Even with a full SC group.

If they happen to be all Blendettes I use Autoheaven. Best map for pallet Freddy. I get destroyed by Object of Obsession more often than by some guys with SC.

It has been the same for 4 years (only buffing tier 1 and 2 to 36m because everything else is useless) and I never heard complaining.

Why does Everything need hard downsides? Many people complain of Survivors only running BT, DS, DH Unbreakable, Adre or IW. Why wanting to nerf a decent but not OP perk? Have you (or anyone else who wants a nerf) ever thought how strong stealth killers would be if they would get Myers old detection immunity? Then people would complain that stealth is OP plz nerf.

Those perks have their problems, certainly. But I'm not talking about them.

Tackling the meta is it's own problem. But Spinechill is apart of it, including the perks you just mentioned.

So it's best to go through them 1 at a time.

Since when is Spine Chill meta? I see more DS, DH, IW, BT, Unbreakable and Adre in all my matches than SC.

Spine Chill is a good perk, but not OP or requires a nerf. That the killer has to look away to counter it is no big deal. Unbreakable, DS and Adre have a much stronger effects on a match than SC.

  • No. It gives no directional info and still requires eyes.

Also it can be fooled by moonwalking. A technique I frequently use on Pig and Wraith. Myers and GF are a bit different and at least Myers should get his detection perk immunity on EWI he had before.

GF is much stronger than him and does not require this buff.

  • Just no. A perk that would completely ignore DS would only make tunnelers stronger. I hate tunnelers. That's why I use DS. And not to be reckless.

Just slug, use k.o. or play PH.

  • I would love to see the ols ultra rare/common rarity of perks again. I didn't play back then, but I liked it very much and used it for my icon collection.

I like your Idea. Paying the double price seems OK, since most times you need more BP than that to get to the perk. Especially on P3.

  • Sorry to hear that from you. We can only hope they fix the MMR to get it out soon.

  • Just make it that hatch only spawns when only one survivor is left. No more get out of jail keys with 2 or 3 Survivors left.

  • BL was commonly abused on Haddonfield where it created God loops with the buildings. I don't miss it, and never used it either. Too situational and often wasted when falling off small elevations. I stuck with DH instead and now I don't use any Exhaustion Perk at all since you get dedicated with DH and all the others are too situational or more of a hindrance (SB).

Thx. Yeah, Aayla looks a bit weird, since I was lazy and used the original for her scream. Maybe I will improve it later, but I have so many ideas now, which want to get done first.

I was thinking of other ideas you could use for perks

    • Blood Echo: Yoda and Obi-Wan feeling the death Aayla Secura
    • Infectious fright: Aayla Secura, Adi-Mundi and Plo Koon screaming
    • Gear Head: General Grievous replaces the skull (It would make sense with him since he was a great strategist)
    • Dead Man's Switch: Boba Fett falling to his death in the Sarlacc Pit
    • Retribution: Dooku about to get his head cut off
    • Forced penance: Vader Choking that resistance soldier

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r125_IWLAEE

What do you think of this?

    iconPerks_infectiousFright.png

  • If I recall correctly they said they will come eventually to the store. They didn't say with what delay exactly but they were talking about a year or so after the original release and that themed cosmetics like Blight Cosmetics would only be in the store these special times.

I don't know anything more. I have all the Rift cosmetics, so I could be indifferent about it, but I also think that they should release the Tome 1 cosmetics in the store with the release of Tome 5. The free ones purchasable with Shards and the other ones for Auric Cells. That would be my idea.

  • I would like that. Same for Billy's Chainsaw.

  • Oh. OK. I hope they get banned.

I had a 3man Russian toxic swf on the PTB yesterday while I was playing solo q. They tagged, hopped in and out of lockers whether I was next to them or not, used mouse wheel macros with their flashlights etc...
