  • yes please. else this gets a plague 2.0 but not in Benelovence but in Evader Emblems

  • I really liked that he was completely invisible and you couldn't see him with any aura reading perks outside of his dreamworld. I also loved his own aura reading outside of his lullaby/TR when you were asleep. And I miss Ninja Freddy too....

i would like to have that back in one way or another, but plese not with that 7s falling asleep and the bad defense he had.

I got quite good with him and everyone tended to underestimate you (they thought every Freddy ran NOED, so no need to use it, they would do bones anyway), but it was always hard to win once you got to a certain rank/level.

  • and I get green rank teammates/killers as rank 3/4.

A lot of this is grey area/eye of the beholder level stuff. There are some people that are going to get upset with you no matter how “nice” you play. And a lot of this stuff can be avoid most of the time if you don’t act stupidly. 4 man slug early in the game? That’s what you get by congregating together and allowing him to do that. Stop trying to go for hook saves right off the bat, hide in case of BBQ. I see this crap all of the time, usually way across the map while I’m working on a gen.

There are always people who complain about everything.

I'm like yourself when the killer slugs at the beginning. But sometimes this happens without your intention or because of dumb teammates. Or because you all spawned together and u got sniped by Billy for example.

I for myself have no fun in crushing Survivors like that. It is boring.

What the heck does my playstyle have to do with anything? Of course they should change it, but don’t blame the players for using strategy. Put the blame entirely on the developers where it belongs. I’ve already posted elsewhere on a number of things they can do to make The Twins better.

This strategy is of the same dirty type of strategy that (insidious face) camping, tunneling without good reason (=I did that because I can) or 4man slugging in the early game belongs to imo. It makes no fun for Survivors at all. The same goes for kidnapping Viktor but on the Killer's side instead.

We all should be nice to each other even if we don't see us personally. We all know it is a really bad design. So I don't understand why some people still abuse it. Why don't be fair about it?

  • @Zaytex said:

Survivors should not even be able to kidnap Victor.

This is called bad game design. Same thing with the lockers.

This wouldn't be a problem at all if everyone would be fair and not doing it. But since there are always some toxic guys....

  • Not 3 in one match but 1 in 3 matches. Sorry if that wasn't clear.

except its not like hag because you're default speed and a survivor is not only unable to progress the game they are oblivious and will trigger killer instict when near teammates

its more like trapper without traps after a mori a minute in

Yes they can't do gens with Viktor, and when I don't come, they will crush Viktor and return to doing gens. If I come, they run around with him and can still vault windows and throw pallets. And putting Oblivious on with this is another reason to leave him on if you use Object of Obsession, since you have wall hack until you can touch the Killer's nose. I had 3 Objects doing this.

  • @CountVampyr said:

I think it’s pretty funny. What should I do, try to pull him off when I know Charlotte is heading my way? Best thing to do is to run as far from your position as possible and maybe lose her first. It isn’t kidnapping, it’s common sense. Plus, the killer can use add-ons to bump up Victor’s power.

So you say it's fair to punish the killer for using his power well? I wouldn't say anything if you couldn't use pallets or windows with Viktor on your head, but you can.

It is like old times where you could sabo Trapper's traps and remove them from the game. There is a reason why they changed it. Because some Survivors (especially bully swf) abused the ######### out of it.

That you think ruining the Killer's ability to use his power for 45s due to circumstances he has no control over is fun, tells me everything I need to know about your playstyle. Ever thought that others want to have fun as well? At least I try to be fair when doing so...

You can see your ping. If you think it's too high, then leave.

The Killer's ping is important. It didn't matter if you had 20ms but the killer had 140ms. You would still get hitten through anything. And even now you need to know if you are the person with the better connection or not. A killer ping in the survivor lobby is needed.

The killer can also see survivors' ping in the match. So why not vice versa?

I understand now what truly bothers me is that it never used to be like this. That's why I am so bothered by getting by that even though it was still close ish.

It was the same with p2p, but at least you could see how bad the connection was. I could easily play around a 150ms ping or even higher, because I could adapt. I knew I would need to vault or drop the pallet earlier, but now I only know my own ping and can hope that I won't get someone from further away or someone using VPN. To see the Killer's ping in the lobby and during the game when pressing ESC would help a LOT. So I can at least prepare myself again or dodge the lobby.

  • Many content creators tried to make it fair for console players with the dwightcrow charm. i.e. they gave you some minutes to put it in and then posted the last number/letter in chat.

i tried to get it 3 times by watching a fog whisperer with not so many viewers, but i didn't get it. after that i didn't bother anymore.

it is sad to see that they do it again. at least i hope there will be more than 10 uses per code.

No offense but do you play this game casually? When I play games I like to be competitive and I find casual players dont really mind bad hits as much. Close call ot not it was not fair.

I got 3.3k hrs in this game and I play for 2 years now, if that answers your question.

I get a lot of players from eastern Europe here in Germany. They often have a bad connection and the hits are just uhhh. And it bothers me to get slapped through a window that is 3m behind me or get hit by hatchets around a corner. But I was never bothered by close calls like in your clip. there will alwys be some latency with servers. I also see DbD as competitive game, but I learned to live with some things. And close calls are some of these.

  • Survivor:

Adre, DH, DS, BT, Unbreakable, IW

    Killer:

Freddy with Ruin, Undying, Surveillance, BBQ, Corrupt, Dying Light and all rope add-ons

Clearly hit me though right? Switch back to p2p or show the killers ping so I can dodge these bad internet killers. VPN still works.

Looks normal to me. I have had worse hits around corners, through windows etc. And I usually get 35ms (Frankfurt) or about 50ms (London I guess), so my connection ist not bad.

This situation was a close call anyways.

  • And I always thought Nancy was flat like a pallet......

  • @MandyTalk Do you know if the hit validation makes it possible again to jump though the hatch with the killer right next to it ("Hatch stand-off")? Up to this day the killer would get priority over the survivor.

Is it "the fastest connection wins" now?

  • @Wesker said:

Can my hits be rejected if my ping is stable at 150 ms but my opponents have 40?

I don't think that we will ever get numbers so it can't be abused. The faster your connection, the better, I would guess.

That is also the case on Crotus Prenn. And there is also that "in front of the hill" totem on MacMillan, where it just sits next to the rock and not in that little corner.

which are largely irrelevant. cant heal or do gens, but you've turned the killer into a slow basic attack killer who's easier to loop. and you can still even vault and drop pallets. hag without traps lol.

Yeah, it does nothing except make you a bit slower. It's the same with Deep Wound when it came out or Plague before 1 Pool of Devotion was always corrupted.

Yeah, you're right. The fps gets especially bad the more matches I play. I have to restart the game and it's better for a bit and then gets awful again. This is an all-around horrible update.

I'd rather have a more barebones game that played well than a game full of bells and whistles that has a crippling framerate. I mean, what's the point of any new content when playing feels so awful?

Fun fact: A while back someone asked the Devs (in a Q&A I guess) which maps they'll do first. They answered that they will do the old ones first since they are more taxing on older systems.

I was like: Ummm, on these maps I got the best performance...

I tried to switch from medium to low a while ago but it only got worse (my PC is a bit strange XD).

I had no fps problems on the PTB btw. Maybe something is bugged again and Causes this.

I think unsafe pallets are a great way to 'shrink' the map in some ways for survivors to get from one safe zone to another, but there is a question of how much is too much. Remember, even ignoring the amount of resources, big maps inherently favor survivors over most killers, so making it too easy to just go on a grand tour of the safe areas is problematic. Ideally survivors should 'exhaust' safety in a local area and create a deadzone after some time on a big map. Otherwise the map gets harder over time too slowly and that is an issue that causes maps to become way too survivor sided.

It isn't bad that maps can be big, but the design needs to account for this inherent downside. I think its fine for standard looping to want medium sized maps, with larger maps encouraging stealthier play. This helps make the maps feel different and forces survivors to take advantage of the unique features of different maps.

I'm completely fine with a dead zone after some time, but there shouldn't be one right at the beginning except it is always in the same place (like on Sanctum). You don't have time to check the map for dead zones first.

    @TragicSolitude said:

Not worth trying to play on Ormond, as killer or survivor, because the framerate is such crap (PS4). I just walk around and look at the scenery, which is kinda nifty. It'd be niftier if the fps were higher, though.

To anyone who gets me in one of their matches and I barely interact... uh, sorry? (But not really, 'cause I can't do anything about it.)

Not only on Ormond for me. I get really bad fps drops on all maps now. And I play on PC (medium quality about 50 fps). I hope they fix it, because dropping down to 15fps is not great.

    @xnicolay said:

what? are you kidding man? the rework sucks, keep giving more advantage to mediocre survivors giving to them infinite pallets.

the map is terrible, now is worse. you just walk 3 metres and you can choice...having 4 pallets to drop like bot.

as survivor main, you can destroy m1 killers in that map, dropping pallets like rank20...

Are you referring to Lèry's or Blood Lodge? Because I had Ormond multiple times today and there were a lot less pallets than before.

Yes, that's one of the biggest situations where it bothers me! You're basically forced to run the killer up the main building, but that has two problems: 1) That can prevent a teammate from doing that critical center gen, like you called out, and 2) many of the drops and vaults from the top of the main building drop you right into one of the dead zones on the side, so the top of the center building isn't actually all that safe!

The other situation where this gets annoying is if someone gets hooked in the basement. For most basement spawns on most maps, the basement is underneath a fairly strong tile for survivors. Here, though, you exit the basement into a massive dead zone.

The basement there is the main issue. Is is one of the worst Basements for survivor because it has no true basement pallet or a good window.

The Game basement is a bit too strong with 2 God pallets but that map is truly killer sided, so I call it even.

I would love a bit protection on the basement side. Like an L shaped wall with a secure but not God like window.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1786069#Comment_1786069

Sanctum of Wrath always has a huge dead zone at ground level on the side of the main building that can spawn the basement stairs. The other side of the main building at least has that one vault you can either take or fake and one unsafe pallet, but it's still pretty barren. The ends of the map have a bit more to work with at least, but the sides are death traps.

Oh, I never thought of the sides next to the main building. I always work with the building, but I know what you mean. If someone was working on that gen and i did not want to bring the killer to them i was screwed. maybe a not so safe pallet or a Z wall would work.

  • @gibblywibblywoo said:

If they did it was needed. The main problem with Ormond was always size combined with the sheer number of linked tiles.

I know. But now it was too much. At least I'll get a ton of empty pallet locations for my Freddy now.

  • @Crowman said:

I find Shelter Woods to be better since the rework as it seems to actually spawn pallets where you think a pallet should be compared to before where you could run at what looks like a rock loop to only discover that a pallet never spawned there. Also they added a pallet spawn by the tree which before was basically a dead area unless you had Balanced Landing.

Still one of my least favorite maps, because it looks boring compared to other MacMillan maps.

I still hate it. BL can't be used on the tree now though.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1785925#Comment_1785925

I haven't played new Ormond yet so I can't comment on that, but it's problematic if a map isn't balanced either way since killers have map offerings as well. If the dead zones are anything like they are on Sanctum of Wrath, which it seems like they are from the screenshots I've seen, it could be pretty brutal for survivors.

Chapel's an interesting example too - kinda besides the point, but that's one of my favorite maps in the game for both sides. I've always felt it was well balanced.

Sanctum of Wrath depends... sometimes I get an OK layout, sometimes I ask myself if there were any pallets in the first place or if someone already wasted them all. Same with Wretched Shop. Even Swamp maps or Gas Heaven sometimes have no pallets in the center area.

Chapel never seemed like a "death zone map" for me. I always think I have a fair chance. Asylum on the other hand can have dead zones (usually one) but it is still very strong due to the main building. Removing one pallet upstairs and fix one of the 2 (NOT both) god windows could help M1 killers.

I just hope they fix maps and balance them for both sides. And not by removing all pallets from a building and make the window unsafe once the wall is broken (looking at you Groaning Storehouse).

  • @dezzmont said:

Ormond is a single map realm, which always is a bit problematic if its survivor sided because survivors have FAR more control over what realm you play on.

Its part of why Chapel is noticeably killer sided to make up for Ward being very survivor sided.

Ormond is a truly massive map with extreme gen spread, and a very large central building. These are very survivor sided feature, and when the map was balanced like a regular map but everything bigger it just gave survivors far too many toys to use in a chase.

It seems like they are rebalancing the large maps to have the same level of resources as smaller maps, but spread out further, rather than the same density of resources (or in the case of Ormond, weirdly more) across the larger map meaning survivors have more tools over the course of the game. So if you end up in Ormond as a survivor, its far harder for the killer to gen pressure you and it takes more time for them to transition from a hook to another down, but on the flip side there are more deadzones and each resource spent in chase more valuable because you risk creating more deadzones.

This encourages you to utilize the larger map to track the killer better and use stealth (as avoiding entering a chase is more powerful the more distant gens are), and helps counteract the inherent disadvantage killers have on large maps. If you want to go to a very large map there are more deadzones.

I understand the problem very well, but sometimes these dead (or death) zones spawn really bad. if there is no pallet in 40m radius but 2 gens, something is wrong. I also think that Ormond was too strong, but now it has the same problems as Shelter Woods and Wretched Shop. I understand that they removed the god pallet on the top floor and one of the windows downstairs, but now there is literally nothing exept the gen and a weird unsafe window.

I would rather get some unsafe pallets wich you need to play correctly, than a single mediocre pallet in an area where 2 gens are.

Or they should make the maps smaller.

  • I thought about this a lot. The Killer gets punished with minus points in the Chaser emblem if he stays too long in a 16m radius around the hook if no other Survivor is also in this area. So why doesn't get the camped survivor bonus points in the Objective Emblem if the others do gens in that time (much like the points you get during chase) or get Benevolent points if others are healing.

  • @Gorgonzola said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/209294/bbq-shouldnt-work-on-survivors-in-the-dying-state

Do tou like bleeding out for 5 minutes because killers can't find you when they've already won the game?

That usually happens when I go for the 4k without BBQ. And I'm always sorry for that. Sometimes I just go for a 3k only to avoid the time spent for searching that last guy on the ground.

  • I'd rather be found by BBQ in dying state that with Deerstalker. Why? The killer having the latter usually means he wants to slug a lot during the match. BBQ is often used to find the last survivor after slugging for the 4k. I'm fine with that.

So no need to nerf BBQ. It's a good perk, but not too strong. And don't try the "but it does too much for a single perk". It just shows you your target's locations for 4s after hooking if they are >40m away and not in a locker or use Distortion. And it gives BP which has no impact on the match at all.

  • I see it that way:

You use Object, No MIther or a Key? I tunnel you.

You are only clicking and tbagging etc? I tunnel you.

You play nice and fair? I'm fair too and don't tunnel.

And I still get a lot of kills.

Not really, when you consider who is typically going to be running it. Billy, Bubba, Demo, maybe some M1 killers like Wraith. I run Lopro Chains Billy constantly and if they pre-drop the pallets that's totally fine by me. Just means I get to break the pallet and get a shot at injuring them. If they drop it on my head, I have enduring.

Same with Bubba/Demo, early drops just means an instant pallet break. Late drops mean I use enduring and they roll the dice if the attack is still going to hit them.

And it's still great on M1 killers. Respecting pallets is terrible on all but a handful of killers.

it is just what i noticed. i rarely see enduring anyway.

I almost don't believe a rank 1 killer is in here complaining about bloodlust being removed. When do you ever need it?

Nemesis + PWYF isn't reliable? You eat a stun, and 45 seconds later you are a 130% movespeed killer. If you can't keep track of the survivors I don't know what to tell you.

And you don't need enduring against good survivors? The loops will be run so tight your only choice is to eat pallets half of the time. Unless you want to respect, and let them get extra loops on you. It's a feel good perk and not super powerful without spirit fury on top of it, but I eat pallets all the time as killer because I don't want to waste time respecting. I only respect if they are making clear indicators they are going to drop the pallet.

And you just said "5% movespeed isn't that special" but here you are with a thread complaining about bloodlust. You know, a 5% movespeed increase per stack.

And that's why tinkerer is run with discordance. You can make it to most tinkerer procs if it's a solo player but if it's a discordance tinkerer you know not to waste your time going over to it unless you are really close; you would have had to respond to the discordance earlier.

Enduring is good as long as the Survivors drop the pallet on your head. When they start to pre-drop then, you have a wasted perk slot and even more wasted time.

  • @Deadman316 said:

For people like me that are terrible at looping, maybe I have a chance to escape more chases, I wouldn't bet on it though.

And what about the people who don't care for blood Lust in the fist place? For them it will be even easier!

  • I have played against Tru3 2 times. One time during the PTB where the Freddy rework was tested and one time against his Spirit, but the match ended prematurely because someone DC'ed weirdly at the beginning.

I was so ######### nervous because I knew he was live and I messed up pretty hard. XD

I also went against Otzdarva 3 times, but never as Trapper (sadly). It was very fun to go against him and he's a fair killer. One time he thought I was the Feng with object and he went after me pretty hard, but he apologized on stream and later in chat. Another time I was called a magician, because I got the very hard fast vault on the short jungle gym window.

One time I was with Monto and his girlfriend in a lobby, when he was here in Germany. It was also very funny and I didn't realized it was them until the end screen and could look at their profiles. I thought they were impostors.

And I was in the same lobby as Kller once, but that match was strange af. I don't remember much of it.

  • I have to think about a creepy horror version of Hansel and Gretel or any other fairy tale which plays in a forest.

The Devs said some time ago that they would use stuff from folklore too (Oni is one of these).

  • Freddy, then Spirit.

Freddy is quite easy to learn. I only use pallets and not snares although snares are better (less map dependent and more universal). Freddy is the only killer so far I can hold rank 4-3 with right now.

Spirit takes a bit to learn, but is much easier than Nurse or Billy. You might have difficulties with Iron Will users in the beginning but you will learn to deal with it. Don't use Stridor in the beginning. It will hurt your skill in the long run.

  • I hate Bubba. I hate everything about him. His looks, his sounds, his camping.

I hate him even more than Spirit with Stridor.

  • The Matchmaking is garbage since they changed it to the +- 6 ranks rule and changed the rank reset. There are many Survivors in red ranks who don't belong there and got carried by their team (best example: Urban evading Blendette).

When I started to play over 2 years ago, I could at least tell, that my opponents would have approximately the same rank as me. Around rank 12 it could weirded because of swf not being matched by the highest rank, but by the average. It resulted in 2 reds with 2 newer players in an swf be matched against a rank 10. It was annoying, but better than now.

On my second account where I practice some killers I rarely play, I'm rank 14 and I also get a ton of red ranks. Wich is not OK at all.

I agree in some parts, but you see, I don't blame the players for it. The game offer ways for players to be toxic and reward toxic gameplay (i.e., camping, tunneling, etc.). Sometimes the killers are good people indeed, but they decide to camp because it is a very viable strategy and sometimes it is easier to do just that. So my suggestion here is that the devs should look at this more seriously, because they are reinforcing toxic behavior and the environment of their own game becomes more and more toxic.

And to change that you don't need to do anything radical you know. Just offer more incentives for the killers to stay away from the hook and/or implements small punishments if they stay close.

    That is also true.

I play both side answer is No too but there nothing we can do but play differently........

Not directly. But maybe showing people what their actions do could. I think sometimes we forget that there is another person behind that character. Being toxic in a game is like spilling some stranger's coffee just because you can or find it funny. The only difference is, that in a game you can hide behind your monitor and don't need to fear a reaction from a real person.

If someone would just spill my drink because he thinks it's fun, then I would at least make him pay me the money for a new one. Some people would start a fight.....

So maybe we just need to think that there's real persons behind all of these Survivors and killers, before we make our move. I think the majority of us are nice people in real life or at least not general #########.

Touchè I would agree 2 wrong don't make a right but killers aren't rewarded for camping we actually lose points for it. Tunneling I can see being irritating but it is a strategy that's worth doing from time to time but it's also costly to the killer in the long run if not done correctly. I feel like alot in the game needs to be reworked but the devs just slap a band aid over it and call it good tbh. And I mean looping the same thing over and over yeah it's like stun me with a pallet and go to the next one that's why there's more than one it's kinda ######### to keep me going around the same one lol but at the same time usually it ends with that person getting downed

The bad thing is when the killer abandons a chase and goes after the just unhooked survivor again. You use your DS and then? If you are unlucky you were in a bad spot or it's a ranged or high mobility killer and you get hooked again only to be tunneled to death because your DS is gone.

I lost count of those matches I did not even touch a single Gen or totem or chest or whatever and got tunneled right away. 5k BP and a depip because the killer just wanted to. Because he didn't care about other people's fun.

you don't but all players play different have there only kind of fun which may not be fun for others

    I try to play fair.

But then I ask myself: Do I want to be treated like that? Do I want to get tunnelmori'd? Do I want to face an Object user? Etc etc.

To most of these questions the answer is No.

I know that some people don't care, but these shouldn't play multi-player games then.

a lot of killer are camping and tunneling and playing the most try hard scummy they can right now with the double BP event going on.

    and survivors too.

That doesn't mean that the can't be fun for everyone. I can get 4k with 30k and let the Survivors end the match with 20k and above. And all of that without all the cheap tactics.

Why do I need to be the only one to have fun in a MULTIPLAYER game?

  • Well.... I can definitely confirm that a lot of killers tunnel, camp or tunnel mori just because they can and without reasonable reason. I don't mind defending the hook during EGC or when someone is clearly there. I don't mind getting tunneled if I would use Object or No Mither. I don't mind moris if they are on death hook or after a fair amount of time after the unhook, so the player could at least try to blackpip.

But getting tunnel-mori'd, camped or tunneled without any reason match after match is just frustrating.

I dare say I'm a fair player. I don't use Object, I don't tbag or clicker with a flashlight. And as killer I only play like a dick if the Survivors do. Else I try not to tunnel or at least give that person a second chance if a team mate messed up, since you can't always choose your team.

I know there's perks like BT, UB and DS, but I don't want to be forced to use meta perks just because of some bad people. I would like to be a good player without these crutches, but sadly they are necessary. If everyone would play with/against others like they would want to play against themselves while having fun, then nobody would need all the "unfun" stuff and this game would be a better place.

I like this game really much. 3.2k hrs since 09.2018 tell that much, but this behavior drives me away more and more.

Where are all the honorable and nice players that used to be here?
