That's barely a nerf, should be more like only the person with the key can use the hatch or something
Considering how useless they nerfed moris to be
True. Keys should be personal and should have a 3s (or whatever) opening animation that can be interrupted. Then you'd need 4 keys for the Achievement, but that's fair.
I can understand the Mori nerf though. It was a pain to just die because the killer was an ######### and tunneled. The same pain like seeing 2 or more escaping through the hatch. The current item rarity bug in chests make it worse. Well.... I've finally found a purpose for all my Cut Coins at least.
-
I would appreciate something like this. Twins are the most unpleasant killer to VS after Bubba and Stidor-Spirit.
-
They always say that they use the concepts as inspiration.
Yes this can be frustrating if you liked it or if you are the artist, but why is it so important.
I would rather get some community outfits for lesser popular characters than the 100th outfit for Meg, Claudette, Nea or Kate. I stopped contributing concepts for Jeff for the same reason.

Survivors can't see you through the corn just like you don't see the survivors through the corn. It goes both ways.
That is not the same. I played as both sides on this map. And when I was survivor it was quite easy to lose the killer in the corn.
@[Deleted User] said:
There are no pallets or windows in the corn, so clearly the corn is meant to offer protection. You still can still follow scratch marks, you can still use your ears, and you can still use your eyes for survivors that are reasonably nearby (like, watch for the tops of the corn to move too).
Nurse in the corn has always been brutal because she has to make snap decisions when she lands. Best you can really do is avoid long-distance blinks.
No. There aren't and there weren't. Now imagine just doing as you say as nurse. I would be walking 80% of the time. You can do that oon a 115% killer sure, but even then they sometimes just disappear. Rotten Fields has always been hard (I play a lot Myers, I know the pain), but it was never like... this.
@Seraphor said:
They just need to make the corn a little shorter. That way you could see survivors stood up, but not crouched.
This is how it was. They made the corn higher, but I am lacking a Screenshot. Just watch a video of one of the many content creators.
I think they should make it shorter again.

Idk I just know I never get to use totems because they’re always cleansed before I can even use them, maybe have them blocked til they reach a certain stack to grant some kind of use
Hiding them better would do at least something. They removed the lighthouse totem (that atop of the hill) 2 years ago on some maps only to bring it back with the reworks. Best totem maps are all indoor maps and the saloon. Worst spots are on MacMillan, Autoheaven, Ormond, Farm (even the new version) and Haddonfield. The other maps are quite balanced.
They also need to spawn totems away from gens and Survivor spawn points.

It’s just annoying that hex perks which are not that strong or viable now can be deleted before killer has a chance to use em and build them up but survivors will always have theirs until they decide to use them. That’s my main issue and if you take undying that’s another perk destroyed just to potentially buy another couple min of a perk that could help if it’s not immediately destroyed I went from 20-17 in less than 8 games and won every game
That is something which I also don't understand. Old Ruin was very strong unreliable. Now it's OK and unreliable. All totems are rng and they should be everything or nothing. Their power should reflect that.
Or they should hide totems like on midwich or hawkins. Then I would be fine with mediocre power.
-
1) You said yourself, you are a Rank 20 survivor because you don't play much anymore, but still play a lot killer. Rank 20 is not the norm for balance. Of course it is easy to vs a true rank 20 killer with your knowledge. Not a surprise.
2) Yes there are many 2nd Chance perks, but a lot of them work only once (Adre, Deliverance etc) or are not very viable because of their restrictions (MoM, Soul Guard etc). There should be some adjustments to some of them though: f.e. DH or Adrenaline. They don't need to be tied to godpallets.
3) Spine Chill and Premonition just should not work against an Undetectable killer, like it was with an EWI Myers.

This and something like a castle.
I could also imagine a viking theme with a water map.

Remove his iri addons and maybe that’s a fair trade off.
Nope, because
A) it would make the Evil Incarnate Achievement impossible to get.
B) The pink add-ons combined are not the problem, since gens get usually done first if you don't vs complete potatoes who give you free stalk. The purple Tombstone is the problem since it has no real drawback. And just using infinite EWIII means nothing if everyone stays injured. You are just a standard M1 killer with slightly further lunge and slightly quicker vaulting. Nothing special.

this is not the internet but one Videogame. And the devs don’t want that kind of talk. And there is obviously a big part of the community that has a problem with this as well.
if you get hurt by not being able to talk like that in end game chat that’s kind of your problem. There is definitely no need to formulate texts like this.
The issue is that many normal words get censored. I don't care if bad words and insults are censored. Steam does this anyway, but at least it works.

Sorry to disappoint, but there is counterplay against Spirit. Even on high ranks and against experienced players. It's just unconventional. It is quite possible to drop pallets/vault in time by listening to her footsteps (although that is hard on some maps), you can gain distance on her by stop running and backtracking without moving grass. You can also think about what the killer would expect you to do and do something else.
What actually destroys all this is the common usage of Stridor or not having Iron Will. If you fix that, Spirit is fine. And I've got a lot of experience with this. A LOT.

Why is garbage latency still a thing? Why is Haddonfield still a thing? Why is poor optimization still a thing?
cuz bhvr that's why, it makes me sad
1. Latency is normal since this is not p2p anymore. And even with p2p there is latency. You can just adjust better to it.
2. Because Haddonfield is licensed. And it will be changed soon like all the other maps as well.
3. Because that is, sadly, a problem with modern games. It doesn't matter if it's Dead by Daylight, Path of Exile or PUBG. You can't optimize for every hardware combination out there. Although it's true that the game should run better on consoles, since they have defined hardware.

Maybe try to picture what it might be like playing the game without a financial reward for mastering every aspect of it? Or, at the very least, spare us the self-aggrandizing humble brags and possibly consider that some game elements aren't especially well designed for the vast majority of players.
Thank you. I think some big streamers tend to forget that 90% of us don't play this game for a living. Even if I play every day I do it mostly for fun. I still want to get better, but my main priority is that we have fun together.

I got a lot of killer dailys too lately. It seems that when I play more killer, I get survivor missions and vice versa.

Just because of the fact that poor people like you are in the minority, it doesn't change my perspective. Nor my point. Limit ALL players to the exact same FPS limit or admit your bs bias. The end. We're done here.
Please don't assume that I'm poor just because I don't buy a new PC/phone every year. That money is better spend somewhere more important. I don't know about people like me being a minority since you can't provide stats.
You are the one who is biased, not me. You think that "all PC Players play with 60fps and have an advantage", not me.

I cant find the comment of the person you quoted but my thoughts are you shouldnt have to be a god at mindgaming and zoning to play a map. If thats a requirement for a map then it shouldnt be a map. I shouldnt have to try and mindgame a new survivor to get hits. Its easier to play the map as an average level survivor than play as an average level killer making the map very survivor sided. If we cared about how well the rank 1s do a map when its made then i guess everyone whos playing for fun can go [redacted] themselves.
True. No map should require God or even above average understanding to be OK with.

I'll rephrase it, the killer has bigger pros than the god pallets are a con if you're good enough. I don't think there are many teams that could consistently give me a challenging game on that map no matter what killer I am playing. It's killer sided, you just have to use your brain
Yes, it depends on the skill. Midwich forms 90% of Survivors in potatoes as well, but IF they know what they are doing (shift+w) it's your worst nightmare.
Sometimes it just depends on your playstyle which map is more difficult. For me, I hate Red Forest and Lèry's. I hate The Game when I play Freddy, but love it as Myers. Haddonfield is vice versa.
It's also very dependent on the killer I'm playing.
Fact is, if you get Survivors who know what they are doing than The Game becomes a nightmare.
I vsed a Legion recently who stared at me at a dropped safe pallet, because he knew he would never reach me without using Frenzy. And even that I dodged. It really felt unfair.
And maybe you'd all me stupid but I read in one of your comments that you like to tunnel (pls correct me if I'm wrong!) to get the 3v1 asap.
This is not how I like to play. I hate early tunneling as Survivor, so I don't do it as killer. Same goes for slugging or camping. I will do it if necessary, but not at the start of the game.

my most played killers on this map right now are actually wraith, plague, legion and doctor with spirit, nurse and hag all trailing behind.
It's an amazing map for M1 killers if you route properly, budget your time wisely and don't screw up anything generic . The pallets are obviously great, but you also have things going for you as killer. No way to break LoS on top floor, You have a lot of bottlenecking, just like in azarov's resting place but instead of it being map wide bottlenecking, you have giga unsafe unhooks with good enough gen spreads on top of them. It's not a map where you win by defending gens so good like on dead dawg or midwich, it's more of a map where you hit critical mass and punish survivors, like in spirit's map family residence but instead of the chases being super easy, it's more like you make it a 3v1 where all of a sudden the pallets are fine.
You don't have to eat every pallet on the map, and there are a lot of ways you can get "Free hits"
Gen immediacy on this map is also a pain in the ass for survivors, and navigation is too.
Because many chokes are closed, you can even herd survivors into each other, and you get your down with the benefit of split pressure, and if you do this right because pallets are so heavily featured over windows it's more usable resources and less reusable resources, so you make the game be in one area , preferably with interactions on the top floor and you make that area where you are strong.
Giddeon's pallet packing plant is a great killer map for good killers and it's the new Haddonfield for the incompetent ones.
That may be true, but all the killers you mentioned (except Nurse) profit from a small map like The Game or from half height loops.
Try this with Clown or Pig for example.
I know that this map plays different, but in my experience unmindgamable loops are boring and not good for the game. I'd rather have 20 medium sized loops and maybe 2-4 safe pallets, than this.
With a decent team you can frustrate the killer quite easily on this map because of all the pallets.

I don't like the idea of Iron Will overriding Stridor. Grunts of pain are way easier to hear than breathing so it should stay as is.
This is exactly the problem! Stridor is EZ mode on Spirit.
The point is, that you still can hear breathing or see grass move. Steps are a bit broken right now but usually you can hear them as well.
I'm not a good spirit, but I don't use Stridor and I have rarely problems with tracking. Iron will makes it a lot more difficult right now, which I want to change so that Stridor is not necessary anymore but it would still help.
A good killer never should be ez mode. Not Nurse (she isn't), not Spirit etc.

I agree with you. There is a lot of pallets on this map. You can't play it as a killer.

So far I have a 100% kill rate on that map since it's update
With Nurse or on rank 20? Or was it just one match? 100% kill rate says nothing if you don't give more numbers.
@TTV_WAWAbyWibWib said:
I enjoy the map as killer, I think it's way more killer sided than the old version but you have to use your brain to prove it. There's more than just God pallets on the map and some of the "compensation" for it is just as venomous for the survivors if not (as in my opinion) much more than the pallets are to the killer.
I bet you play a lot of Nurse, since she's your picture? Than pallets don't matter to you. Yes there are dead ends you can utilize and other stuff, but for most M1 killers this Map is a nightmare.
-
Imagine being the last person. Now having to wait 42s for the exit gate to unlock does nothing. That survivor will just hide until the timer runs out and start on the exit gate after that. They will still escape if they don't go against high mobility killers or if the gates are spread out.

Old Freddy was fine. He needed little buffs. Maybe get back old version with teleport power.
And maybe make him not as defensless as he was. If you knew how you could use that against survivors, but having totems destroyed, gens finished and unhooks getting done while you had to just stand there and wait while they tbagged you was a pain.
I would propose a compromise: Grabs always work, but for injuring them, you'd have to get them into your dream. This way, Freddy could have some defense (f.e. either try to finish the totem and get grabbed or let go to be hit after some seconds).
I really liked his aura reading back then. Somehow I want that back.
-
I am a Freddy Main on red ranks and I never played with the Snares or the slow-down addons anyway, so I really don't care about the nerf. Pallets are placed before/after a chase and not during it, so 4.0MS won't bother me too much. He can still teleport across the map, clocks will be ignored in 80% of matches like before and I will still be good with him.
What bothers me more is, that they didn't do anything against the boring part of the snares: go to the pallet, place one on both sides and force the survivor through them.
Also the new addons are just bad. Now there are..... 3 useful ones instead of 6? Black Box is still bad, because it's literally single use. That shouldn't be pink rarity! Green or purple maybe......
I'm just glad they fixed Object and BT with Freddy, although I'm not happy with BT being generally active now. But that's another topic.

After having the pip bug for the past month, my rank is now out of sync every time I’m close to the next level. Level 4 in lobby but still level 5 “locally”.

Have we found out if this is just graphical or not? I’ve just hit red ranks and with reset in a day I don’t wanna risk being tunnelled and depip into 5 but also don’t wanna risk leaving it at 4 and finding out it’s graphical and being thrown back to rank 9 instead of 5 at reset
Don't nail me on it, but it is only a graphical glitch now. Sometimes The Unbroken Emblem bugs out and shows you gold, but it's actually silver/bronze. The pips reflect that. I'm not even sure if it still exists since 4.6.0 because I stopped looking.

Try to get a little closer to the terror radius and then shift your camera towards the killer to proc premonition to increase the odds of it registering. It’s a 45 degree cone and a 36m activation range so if LOS is poor then the killer might not actually be in the direction you’re pointing especially if they were already in the edge of those numbers. It took me two games to get it to work properly and the game it registered I made sure I could actually see the killer. The first game I tried like 10 points but was usually blocked by the temple on yamaoka or bamboo etc.
Also make sure you let the point fully complete from start to finish because if you cancel it prematurely even a bit with shift W and what have you then the point might not count.
Yes I noticed that as well. I got it now. Thx.

All images on the internet.
I don't need them to be barbies, just a little bit more detailed textures and not so stiff facial animations.
-
I think that all characters (mostly survivors but also killlers) up to the "Shattered Bloodline" Chapter need some better textures and meshes. With Shattered Bloodline characters started to look better and were of higher quality. They might need some fresh textures, but nothing big.
My highest priority would be the first 5 survivors, then Ace, Feng and David. Kate is ok for me but could use some minor improvements. Then go for the licensed characters. Laurie, Myers and Quentin first (although the NoES license is always a bit tricky), after that improve Tapp a bit (he's ok but not great) and give Bill higher quality textures. That would it be for me. Cheryl, Steve, Nancy and Ash look good, so nothing to change there.
I also would update all of the old Mori animations, especially Trapper and Wraith. Myers could get a locker Mori animation like in the movie if grabbing someone out of the locker with a tombstone.

Yes. For me as Jeff Main I want that as well.

If I remember correctly Object was intened to be a challenging perk which gave you a ton of information about the killer at the cost of you being volnurable the whole time. Back then it was only one of 3 Obsession perks for survivor and 2 of the 3 Obsession perks for killer needed you to be alive, while the other needed you dead. It was always a risk using anything obsession related as a survivor (or killer), especially later, when Remember Me and Rancor were added.
I think it wasn't meant to be a tool for swf to tell everyone everytime where the killer was, or to be toxic and annoying with it, like it is used now.
Same goes for other perks:
- DS was a tool to stay alive when needed (Remember Me or especially Dying Light could really screw you over when triggered early), but it became a 2nd chance perk as well as a big ######### you tool, when you weren't the Obsession and it activated during wiggling. The killer could never know.
- At first, MoM was to give you more survivability if the killer would focus you as obsession. It became a pain, because you never knew how many people had it and it gave you an additional health state after 3 regular hits. The killer couldn't do anything against it.
- BT wasn't meant to be the ultimate tool to farm someone off the hook, but to get someone safely off the hook if the killer was camping. If I remember correctly, it was one-use only and both players were affected by it.
-
If you want to face more Stridor Spirits and Infectious Nurses/Billys and have fun with being slugged all time, go ahead.
I may be a Freddy main for now, but you realise that Freddy is not the over the top best killer? Or any of the licensed Killers? That's still Nurse!
Freddy is picked more often because he's simple to learn and understand! I played him for over 2 years now and when he got his rework, I only needed a few matches to understand many tricks, whereas I needed WEEKS to get used to his pre-rework state and all his many weaknesses and how to use them.
Bubba promotes boring playstyles (Insidious Basement Bubba) but his power isn't over the top either.
You think that licensed killers are "pay to win" or auto-win Killers? Let me tell you this: the best survivor perks (except DS) or the best Killer in the game (Nurse) are all FREE lol! But me picking Nurse or UB, DH, Adre, BT etc won't give me a free win either.

with MMR , Solo Q is almost impossible , 15 games in the morning 50% exit rate for me ,15 games 0 exit in the afternoon, where it is fair ?
what this mean ? Casual gamers will begin to leave or go in swf . at this time = less players . more SWF means more killers leave the game ... so less players again and now you got a game who start to die GG .
how to keep playerbase ? make 2 game mode 1 with MMR for esport or whatever you call it
and 1 mode with old rank system more adapted for Solo Q (casual) and everyone is happy. at least give it a shot for a few weeks , BHVR knows how to do it because we are their beta testers XD .
Somehow the system worked for me. I'm used to die a lot since it's my playstyle to be altruistic in the endgame.
-
Not toxic at all. I had more complaints in chat after a Silent Tombstone match than a match with Devour.
They get an information at 3 tokens that you have Devour Hope. Their top priority should be finding the totem then.
In my 3.6k hrs I got mori'd with Devour in different situations many times. I never thought of this being toxic even when I was new.
Some players just say something is toxic because they think it's unfair. They want you to follow their rules. Don't do that.
Play fair and have fun. But don't let them do what they want for free.

Everything is more toxic than DBD, even World of Tanks.
If this rating works, I'm fine with that. Finally I can play killers I don't use very often without being stomped.
You know that current ranking is just bad? Over 2 years ago the rank reset was an actual reset. You were rank 1?now you're rank 10 again. A red rank player had usually 1k hrs or more, not like all those people with just 200hrs.
I want that back and not all of these self caring and urban evading Blendettes.

I have played both roles and it works fine. I'm decent with Myers and I got decent Survivors as well in the 2 matches I played with him. I also tested it with killers I don't play often and I felt treated well so far. Even with Nurse, and I'm maybe average with her. Only the match with Oni was a bit bad for the Survivors. Although I played oni about 10 times until now. That was 1 out of 7.
Survivor was OK as well, at least with soloq. Swf was strange, but that might be because they were more inexperienced players than me.

That's a thing with the old rank-based MM too. De-pipping to drop ranks so you don't face red ranks.
If this goes live, people will have an incentive to increase their rank for BP, which in turn should end up increasing their MMR.
You can't judge how this SBMM is working based on ranks, because ranks are specifically what they're invalidating. You can be red rank and be #########, or you can be yellow and play perfectly. The idea behind the new MMR is that this skill is measured independently from rank, whether or not it works as advertised...
The problem with rank based MM, is how inconsistent the ranks are. Currently it looks a bit like this:
20-18 = have played less than 6 matches in total, brand new to the game. (about 20% of the playerbase)
17-5 = can literally be anything from brand new, to moderately experienced, with a few experts as outliers. (about 40% of the playerbase)
4-1 = can literally be anything from moderately experienced, to godlike expert looper, with a few hackers as outliers. (about 40% of the playerbase and the only people who play after 9pm)
Totally agree. I see so many red ranks with 300hrs or less now. When I started 2.5 years ago, red ranks had about 1k hrs minimum and R1s had even more. Old rank reset was so much better.

Some people mess with their files to stay in the low ranks because bullying noobs is fun for them and I suspect many that are against MMR fit this type.
Sometimes it's a smurf account.
I use one as well but more on the killer side to properly learn a new killer. Rank 5 ist just not good to learn at

I must commend you on your honesty, it is refreshing. And I couldn't agree more, I was in a similar position to you, i wouldn't say my SWF were toxic as such but as you rightly said they'll try and distract the killer while I sat and did gens. What I think people can forget is it takes virtually no skill to do a gen - you learn quickly how to hit a skill check and all survivors do gens at the same speed; I may be worse at looping just now than you, my decision making may be worse BUT both of us will do gens at the same speed. And same as you as a result I got to red without being able to properly loop, being reliant on a team mate telling me where the killer was at all times, getting protected by my SWF etc etc. It was only when I played solo I actually got good when I had to rely on my own ability and no one else's. Playing as a solo was tjs best thing I ever did.
I fully agree, there are plenty of reds who don't properly know how to play
Thanks!
I also played solo or duo later and still prefer it over 3 or 4 man swf. That's just so easy.
My starting swf was not just toxic (I consider Object as toxic), but they also had conditions. I was only allowed to unhook with We'll Make It or only in an emergency when none of them could go, and when I wanted to do the adepts for Laurie and David they said that I should stop trying it, because I was dying a lot. (I did them anyway lol)
And when I started to watch good players on YouTube or twitch, I never played with them again, because I realised how bad I actually was for a rank 5-4. I was watching Monto, Oh Tofu and Tru3 a lot. That helped with getting better or find nice builds.

Come on man 😂😂 Freddy alone in f tier. When spirit and nurse are sooo much worse. Freddy isn't -that- good and actually has lowsy chase mostly.
I mostly did it for the Meme, and because so many people think he's kinda broken, including me.
An average Freddy can destroy average teams. They will waste time while going for the clock, they get spammed with snares on a loop and go down. BBQ and Pop. Chase next. Repeat.
The average nurse is a lot worse than before her rework where many of them relied on 3 blinks or Omega blink. I meet more average nurses than good ones. Good nurses destroy any teams.
A Spirit has quite straight forward counterplay IF she doesn't have Stridor and if you run Iron Will. Average players will stop running and walking back or crouching somewhere. If you are at a loop that gets more difficult and often is a guessing game, but not impossible. And an average spirit is often not that great with mindgames. That's why she would be in A-S.

I have played 4 matches and so have found it to be better.
It does appear to be catching the ones who de rank on purpose and putting them against those of the appropriate skill level. That I find to be a good thing.
It also appears it might also be catching some of these rank 1, 2 and 3 killers aren't really at that skill level. I went against a killer with a rank of 1 that didn't play like someone of that rank. More like a rank 16 or 17 which causes me to wonder how the person got to rank 1 to begin with.
SWF. Many newer players get to rank 1 with the help of 4man swf.
I had such a group myself when I was a beginner and I regret it now, since they were toxic as #########. One of them would run Object, and distract the low rank killer (back then average rank chose your killer, not highest), while I did gens. I didn't lern to loop somewhat until I had about 500hrs. This was over 2 years and 3k hrs ago.
The amount of self caring, urban evading Blendettes against a Sloppy Butcher Legion on red ranks has drastically increased.
