Can anyone confirm if death automatically means "deranking" in MMR?
Does anyone have details on if you died in a match does that count as you "losing" the game or whatever MMR treats it as? All I know about MMR is that if you do better than a person a higher "rank" than yourself you will rank up. Do we at least know if it takes into account how well we did in the game like chase time, gen time, saves, etc, or is it mostly based on if you survived or not?

They said in a qna that it isn’t based entirely on kills and escapes
Nobody knows. Just play to the best of your ability and see if the matches are fair or not.
They won't disclose that in case it is abused by people to go against lower skilled players.
Pretty sure that’s not how it works. But if you compare a completely equal match but in one you get caught in the end and hooked/sacrificed and in the other you escape then it’s very likely that the escape gives at least a better scoring than death. But that doesn’t mean death is always resulting in a negative score.
Nobody knows; they won't us how it works.
no? why would you assume dying means derank? it never did before, it wouldn't even make sense, if you mean dying before you done anything in the match then sure, dying would derank you, it should be quite similar to how emblems scored you but obv not exactly the same
And it's a good thing people don't know how it works. If they did they'd be able to manipulate it just like some people do with the pip system (ie purposely de-pipping to get easier games)
I would just play the game and not worry about ranks. Ranks hardly matter anyways
Exactly agree 100% if they let people know then there will always be players that will abuse it.
Sooner or later we will all get an idea how the system works.
I mean of course it can be abused by people to go against lower skilled players, if you run up to the killer and die right away, that has to be seen as playing poorly, aka, lower MMR rating
Actually, no. If it is an actual Skill-based system, it should be very hard to manipulate. People who want to reduce their own Pips still can without knowing how it works. People who want to Smurf still can, sadly. None of the garbage we face is mitigated by keeping it quiet. All it does is eliminate transparency and prevent us from saying, "hey DEV it isn't working" because we don't know how it works.
