Well now that they've opened the door to neon ghost Fox tails I'm sure we'll get more gaudy stuff that clashes with the rest of the game now

I think they took the "the mobile skins are great" the wrong way.

I believe that with proper care and planning, BHVR could incentivize more people to play as male survivors. We've seen some positive shifts with the cosmetics in general, so I hope that this will soon encompass male survivors too. 2 deep rifts in a row with no male survivors just sucks…

Plus, where are our shirtless Gabriel, and Vittorio in shorts? Ya know, just sayin'…

They could fix gameplay issues male survivors face in the trials. I almost exclusively play male survivors (Jeff, Chris) and let me tell you, the amount of hiding places are few. Most trees are too slim, most half height clutter is too low (especially concrete blocks), most corners are too slim for your butt and most bushes are too tiny.

  • This is exactly why I stopped submitting. It did not matter what ideas I had for Jeff or anyone else had for other male survivors (there were many really fitting and great skins out there), it was always sexy sportswear for femal survivors. The ONLY one I really like is the Elodie skin, which was really nice.

Now the community will just vote for Sable, Mikaela, Feng, Nea or Kate. (There is still the tiny hope that all vote for Gabriel, Adam, Haddie etc just to make a point though)

Maybe I will submit a Banner or Badge, but no more skins. I'm done with the bias.

  • read the patch notes.

  • To all survivors: Let us all use Object of Obsession, take an item with us, drop it next to the Gen we work on and get a free 6% speed boost.

  • What I just noticed is that survivors need to learn to not just swarm the hook or downed person. I can snowball really fast with the Bluetooth hook, because they don't have the time to heal up or get into position.

  • I don't think it should be a perk but a mechanic for situations when ######### hook spawns leave you with a dead end. (sometimes there is nothing you can do against this)

After a survivor managed to escape from your grasp at least 2 times in a row, you can press q to hook them on the closest hook available.

  • @Memesis said:

Mage hand still feels like a cheap hit whether it's used before or after the pallet is thrown which feels bad but his other powers feel much more balanced.

The skeletons could be a little more consistent and the sphere could be tweaked to be better at finding survivors. The flying spell is really useful against w holders and closing distance.

The enchanted armor side objective is fairly interesting and worthwhile. Overall not the worst killer to face honestly

What enchanted armor side objective? I know the armor in the dungeon looks at you, but there more to it?

stop asking for a distortion nerf the perk is fine as it is. killers have a dozen aura reading perks plus add-ons that they can combine together to see the survivors aura most of the game and distortion is the only perk survivors have to protect themselves from it.

    Hmmmm....

    1. Distortion is active from the beginning with 3x use
    2. Recharges 1 token/30s when hiding inside of the TR (well usable against most killers), so it's basically active the whole match even against full aura builds
    3. Players who don't use distortion are tunneled out more, killed or on death hook first, while Distortion users usually weren't hooked once.
    4. Promotes unhealthy playstyles on both sides (pure stealth, no killer interaction, unintentional tunneling)

Other anti-aura perks have a condition to use: boon a totem (Shadowstep), get hooked (OTR), get a killer blind (Residual Manifest, quite fun with Blast Mine) or the good old hop into the locker (which is what everyone did before Distortion was good or even before it existed).

Distortion on the other hand gives you more stealth for being stealthy, which is terrible design.

If you don't want it to be adjusted, I guess you are too deep in your comfort zone.

Let me tell you something. If you stay in your comfort zone, you will never last more than 10s in chase. Get out, learn how to loop, then you will realize that you don't need this perk even if you have a more careful playstyle. You just can't live without the information on aura reading Distortion provides? Try Object. It is an underappreciated perk.

  • I also had this idea a while ago. I think 15-20s per token in chase are fine. It should only start with 1 token though. So you get one free anti aura reading (Lethal, 1st NTH/BBQ etc), then you need to interact with the killer to get more.

You should not go down there anyway…there are only 2 hooks so survivor can create a space where they cannot get hooked... The map needs a lot of work to not be horrid.

This and I believe there is an infinite with the portals.

what are you smoking they nerfed survivor for 2 years straight, now the sky is falling because they nerfed pain res by 5% ?

cmon bro.. everyone knows tunnelling/slugging was already main strat before update

Well... Survivor was beyond OP for years. If you don't know what I am talking about, just look at peak survivor gameplay from 2018/2019 or even way before that. Imagine a time where FtP came in form of an addon without any drawbacks and even had a variant to heal the person 2 states. Where DS was instant the moment you got picked up, where there was no holes/breakable walls next to the window in Ironworks, Storehouse or other maps. A time where Object distroyed 50% of the Killers.

Even though the mechanics were removed over time, survivors got stronger because they learnt to be more effective.

  • I think it's the same for me so far. But it will increase once the event drops on Thursday because all the toxic players come out of their holes during events.

But I guess the nerf of Gen slowdown might make some players tunnel more.

    I have 7k hrs.

  • @Rokku_Rorru said:

I feel the main issue right now is lobby dodging due to prestige being visible or just being able to see the survivors honestly, either give this information to survivors as well or remove it from the killer.

Just make re-entering the same queue not possible for like 5min if you dodged. If you don't want to play, then don't.

  • @NoctgamingHD said:

First thing first you cant convince me otherwise that killer arent at a disadvantage what so ever so dont even try you tryhard survivor out htere trying to act like every killer is on the same level get a life. SO i been gone for a few years and decided to come back, now i was around back when hex ruin could be gen tap to avoid it issues so that should tell you how far back i been playin. since i been back this is what i seen:

    1. SO MANY GEN RUSHING THAT BEFORE I EVEN GET ONE HOOK, 4 GEN ARE DONE. yes i run perks that should be fighting the gen progression but apperantly that means nothing what so ever at all. perks like dying light thantphobia ruin and more. nothing i do slow down progression of gen. think i havent had a 5 min plus game in over 30 game so far.
    2. Survivor speed perks omg this is the most annoying, cant tell how many time now even with a tracking killer or speed killer or range killer that player with speed perks can keep me running for them for near on the entire match, So many perks that arent affected by exhuast like holy cow seriously how are we suppose to fight that? on top of the gen rushing. one match had a kate denson with nothing but Hope, resilence and windows seriously running me for the entire match of 5 mintues while her team gen rush. every pallet and window in one location for her to loop non stop couldnt even reach her for near on 2 mintue till i reach bloodlust 3 and even then she out ran me.
    3. What the hell is up with this system now adays cant tell you how many times i be running killer and i get match with high tier players or teams with lights and more and no way to fight it.

Serious if this is the way the game is gonna go i cant even enjoy playing as a killer and have to deal with things like i mention what the point of playin killer at this point i decide to play nothing but rank 1 survivor, like seriously i made 7 killer in 7 matchs straight rage quit cause either am gen rush with my build or they can even cacth me cause i got so many loops and pallet around me. or speed rushing perks and allie that will grab killer attention or flashlight him. it great honestly and i love it. But now i understand what killer are going though. and gonna shout it all the time!!!

SURVIVOR ARE UNBALANCED, AND KILLERS ARE AT A DISADVANTGE OF IMMENSE MAGINTUDE!!!!

Just like you I was around when Ruin was counterable by Gen tapping, DS was instant, insta-heals were a thing, BT would down you if you did not have self care to heal you and Freddy was garbage but interesting. I just never stopped playing.

I can see, that you struggle to understand the change the meta or general playing behavior. Today even newish players can be really efficient, because there are so many good videos on how to loop, which perks are good and what not.

Thana and Dying Light are very niche perks nowadays because defending early gens has become more important and their value is either just meh because certain killers are too strong with it (Thana) or just straight up bad (DL). Try Corrupt Intervention, it blocks the furthest 3 gens for 2min. Also way more popular are perks which remove a big chunk of progress (PGTW, Pain Resonance, Surge, Eruption) or block gens (Deadlock, DMS, Grim Embrace).

On survivor side chase perks are very popular because killers tunnel a lot. Windows of Opportunity was buffed 2 years ago and since then you see it everywhere. The information this perk gives makes a bad looper into a decent one, a decent makes it good, a good insane and an insane looper will be a god.

Killer is exhausting sometimes that's true, but then you get potatoes the match after.

Oh and btw: they changed the Matchmaking. Ranks are just determining how many BP you'll get on rank reset. They have SBMM now. Basically an invisible number that gets bigger the more often you win. "Win" in this case means escaping when all gens are done or killing at least 3 people. It doesn't matter if you die when all others escape, because you looped the killer for 5 gens. You died so you are "bad" and loose. (Don't try to understand this logic). Because you haven't been playing for so long, the system does not have any data of you. So basically you play against noobs until the system has enough data. That would explain why killers DC left and right.

    Left Behind

Complete the final Generator as the last Survivor alive and escape through the Exit Gates.

You basically have to bank on your team being horrible but at least good enough to do most Generators. You have to complete the final Generator before the Killer closes the hatch, then you have to advertise your exact location to the Killer, and escape through the Exit Gates before they kill you.

The only reason why this achievement is still in the game was when it was added back in the early days of DBD and you could complete the other 2 remaining Generators after the 5 Generators were finished, Survivor leaving through the gates contributed towards you being the last Survivor alive. It's an achievement that has only gotten harder as time has gone on while basically remaining unchanged.

What the.... Who thought this was OK?

Since EGC got introduced it's become hard beyond reason.

  • @scoser said:

Every non-Vecna game right now as a survivor is extremely frustrating, because I know there's nothing I can do to make any progress towards this achievement. Even the Vecna games are pure stress as I try to spam chests non-stop, but whenever I get a hand or eye, Vecna goes into ultra-tunnel mode. Extremely frustrating trying to get this achievement so far, with how luck based it is.

There is also an achievement for Vecna where you need to collect the Eye or Hand off a survivor and get a 4k. It does not work if that survivor dies on hook which happened a LOT.

  • What was Left Behind again? They changed that like 10x. I remember getting that during the age of Hatch-standoffs by 99ing 2 gens next to each other on swamp and then leaving through the gate with the lamp-tech (opening the gate until right before the 1st lamp glows, wait for the killer to check, then do the rest).

Oh yeah! That achievement too is rough.

For the People and DS as well. Even if you use a single obsession perk it can still be someone else and if they use their perk after you, you are screwed.

I think it's just the ability to teleport that they won't get that match

Maybe because they want to get the achievement "Hand-Eye coordination" where you have to escape with either the Eye and/or the Hand.

I just found out that it exists.

You can also run an addon to decrease it further by 5 seconds... But sure, he does have rather long cooldown, 30 sec cooldown would have also been fine.

One can also look for the item which gives you speed when he uses the hand.

  • @UndeddJester said:

Well... The bright side is it's not THAT unrealistic to find a hand or eye of Vecna. The chests open really fast, and as long as you always take the item, they reset every 2 minutes. It's also not like it isn't worth doing, as sering Vecna aura when he's using powers is certainly in your benefit.

I opened 5 chests in my trial as part of natural roaming around, and still managed to escape. The probability of getting either item is 23% or so in this case.

If you open 10 chests in the trial, then that is about a 40% chance of getting the item. Of course you've got to use it and escape is the wrinkle, but it's not THAT impossibly insane...

I still feel like Haemophobia is worse... you can take map offerings and have a 50% gamble on the map, just to attempt, and even when you get there, how likely are you to escape uninjured?

And you need to be the obsession too. Good luck with that.... I luckily did that years ago when the obsession could not be changed.

  • People back in the day: Why are all of the female survivors so tiny and slim? We need some variety!

People today: The Elf is too tall! Make her smaller!

    Make up your mind.

  • Even then it's still a long cooldown. He has 2 chase spells out of the 4, so that is still 1 spell every 20s during a chase.

  • I think it would be interesting for those who did not play back then. But nobody would play killer, because survivor was beyond OP.

  • @Fuzzycube said:

it might be better to pre drop versus Venca.

Yep and then smash it in his face again.

  • Cross progression was not a thing so far, but it will come in summer. They have confirmed in the anniversary stream.

  • Every of Vecna's spells has a 60s cooldown. So basically every 15s he can use a different spell when cycling through them.

Killers need a faster speed because they need to catch up. If they were as fast as survivors they could never catch them on loops because their hitbox is bigger.

  • Why though? Are they trying to get both to get insane tick tock clips?

  • @TheRealConsent said:

If you don't bodyblock after getting unhooked you won't get tunneled.

Sometimes you can't help it because the (injured) unhooker moves so you tank a hit for them (such animates). I also don't like bodyblocking if you were just unhooked, but if they swarm you anyway and don't have OTR (which you can hear) they have DS. So you just slug them. Either they use UB and are up again (so stay close) after 20s or wait until 60s are done and hook them. I have done that for ages when DS hat a 60s invincibility counter and it worked just fine.

  • @ad19970 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3731636#Comment_3731636

Simply rewarding killers for not tunneling isn't enough. Killers will still tunnel because it's the easy way out. Tunneling and camping also need to be nerfed to not be such effective strategies anymore, there is no other way around it.

Even during the Eruption meta, where killers definitely didn't need to tunnel, there were still enough tunneling and camping killers.

And to be honest, I still believe, even as a killer main myself, that at the moment you really don't need to tunnel and camp, even against really good survivors.

This is why i propose a mechanic where a survivor does not loose a hook state if they are hooked multiple times in a row. They still need to get rescued within 60s or they will go to 2nd stage/die like normal though. So the killer basically cannot tunnel anymore but time-out a survivor if they get hooked 2x in a row. This mechanic should deactivate ones 2 Survivors are dead as well as during the EGC. Maybe it should also deactivate when you do a conspicuous action, so it can't be abused.

Then DS would not be needed.

They were deliberately engineering the setup. It was a bully duo.

Just ignore them. They get bored fast. They are also not doing gens, so what's the problem? Or eat the DS and be fine for the rest of the match. They can only use it once.

    Not a big deal.

  • @supersonic853 said:

His power doesn't exactly use the extra range in any way. It makes very annoying TR builds. And if they did it because of how fast he can move we already have had blight and billy who can cross faster and farther than him. Seems weird for him to have a abnormal TR when we were trying to push for normal terror radiuses (that's why pig lost her 28 which was kinda unique and actually helpful to the character). So what do people think about it?

Better question: Do you want him to use 4x slowdown instead?

I think that his 40m TR is likely an experiment from BHVR to test how a high mobility killer with strong chase power deals with a large TR and if there are any major problems with it. I guess they maybe considered changing Blight and Nurse (and mybe Billy) in a similar way.

I don't see those "annoying TR" that often. I don't know why that should be a problem.

  • If you don't tunnel they cannot bully you.

  • It's not only a problem for you, but also those who have good ping but the killer hasn't. As killer get's usually the hit so it looks right on their end.

  • @Kl0bürste said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3689642#Comment_3689642

wanna know why? Cause with the abnormal gen speed, it is the only way to win the game in most cases.

The question is more where did the fast gens came from? Gen time was 80s for the better time of dbd and was increased to 90s because people were complaining about Gen speeds.

Prove as well as toolboxes have been nerfed over the bord (BNP was maybe buffed though).

True is, that gen regression has been nerfed mostly because there is so much nowadays and if people stack it it can be overwhelming if the Survivors go down too fast (thinking of old PR+Pop).

The only thing I know is that information about recources on the map is a powerful tool. Chaos mod showed that. Knowing where your teammates threw pallets is a great deal and make survivors more efficient. Also aura perks are not as viable if 3/4 use Distortion. The result is stacked Gen slowdown and tunneling. Chaos mod also showed, that better base game anti tunnel is needed (or a real incentive NOT to tunnel), as without OTR/DS it is way too easy.

TLDR: If we don't fix the real source of the problem, it will never get better.

Are you being ironic? Because he certainly wasn't nerfed to oblivion. And crying survivors don't always win, what kind of statement is that?

Looks at Freddy, looks at Hillbilly before the change: Blight is fine.

  • Just watch some Japanese players. Blight is perfectly fine.

You just got handheld by busted addons and a bug.

  • Now I know at least that the toxic anon players who can chat but are not on steam are from epic games.

  • I would love this. It help with your own improvement, but also helps to understand certain situations better, which would usually make you think someone might be cheating (aka "how did the killer see me here?").

It would also serve you as a prove against cheaters when you send a ticket. This alone would be worth it. Not all people can record or stream because their system is not strong enough.

YYeah Okey that would be okey. I too thought you want like really short ddwars wich would be a advantage

Nah, that would be insane. Not gnome size level, but like the standard fantasy Dwarf height of 4-5ft.

  • @UndeddJester said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3728357#Comment_3728357

Oh aye, I was thinking of a D&D dwarf, just canonical they only like 4-5ft tall if memory serves 🤔

It was more the fact that like Chucky, a smaller character is harder to track, so you get this question about pay to win if you have a D&D that is identical to survivors, just shorter.

Like Oddjob from Golden Eye was better than everyone else because he messed with people's natural aim vs. the default model.

If you go more towards the 5ft then you can use the small female height and make them "broader". Similar how they used the male skeleton for the female Elf because she is so tall.

  • This and finally introducing team based MMR. I am sick of people just leaving in the end because getting sacrificed when all others escape means you lost.

My playstyle also causes me often to end up as the only one dead (similar to the scenario you mentioned). It is quite frustrating that the game does not recognize this at all.

  • @UndeddJester said:

Not that I'm against this in concept at all... and I think is a fun non-serious post...

However to actually think about it because it epuod be cool... in terms of feasibility, how do we do it?

The only thing I can think of requires a gameplay deviation, where the Dwarf is shorter, but cannot fast vault or something... and we're now in the different body types survivor can of worms 🤔

Unless we throw some Entity fabric of reality BS, and said dwarf is given a human form when pulled into the entities realm... but that is not as satisfying...

    Tricky problem Dawi!

This was actually serious with a little bit of humor.

They might have tested something with My Little Oni. I guess a small character would need own animations (doing a gen/healing would be standing upright; vaulting could be like a different kind of climb like small killers use like Onryo, or like Chucky).

I think different body types are OK as long as they fit. I thought of a Dwarf more as another non-human survivor and not as representation for people affected by dwarfism (which is a huge and important difference).

Its not discrimination. Its just good business.

You should ask yourself what led to Feng, Nea and Kate being so popular in the first place. Even the OG females don't have that much attention in comparison. Vittorio could have become a very popular male character because he has an interesting story, but BHVR butchered him because they did not know what to do with a guy from the middle ages. The fact that he only has one remotely fitting cosmetic of the time period and the rest is modern or Victorian tells you everything.

It doesn't help also whenever a male gets a rift, its either licensed or incredibly ugly, everytime.

Nea sat with the most deep rift with Mikaela

I have been waiting for a Jeff Rift since the beginning. He has one single non-recolor rift outfit which is ugly as hell (the video store one with the purple shirt).

I wanna bet that he will get a rift after Sable and that she will either get a Void or Blighted outfit this year while Jeff gets nothing again.

And that's completely fine and valid way of playing any game. Mainly way less stressful :D

That's why I really don't care about how many hours players have. I am going to figure out, how good they are in the game and adapt based on it.

But give up just because someone has more hours than me is lame… I will rather play against better players than worse, because it let's me improve, not just noob stomp to boost my ego.

I usually also don't dodge against players with high playtime (except I have a super difficult archive challenge on a killer I am bad with).

I tend to see it as a challenge and often those people are very predictable. Years ago when I "only" had 2k hrs I faced a 23k hrs swf (2x5k,1x 6k and 1x7k hrs). I was only doing my Trapper daily, but I still thought "OK they will at least step into SOME of my traps". Turned out that they were clicking and tbagging everytime to get on my nerves. So I decided to be the noob they wanted. I had only 2 hooks by the time the last Gen got finished. By that time they were overconfident and I wanted to use that. I downed someone and baited them into doing a CJ tech which failed horribly. Long story short: I got a 3k (without NOED) and they were mad.

What does that tell us? Even if your opponent has a lot more hrs than you, you can still beat them if you know what they want to do.

  • Queen addon. And take a large map. Ending up on The Game or Midwich makes this basically impossible.

1 2 3 4 5 … 64
