Honestly I get more annoyed at Sprint Burst and Lithe than Dead Hard. The only time that Dead Hard bothers me is when it seems like the Survivor is only using an auto-DH hack.
-
Wanna know something that makes even less sense?
They've added that.
Meaning. At some point. Someone. Was like "Legions attacks should increase the cooldown on their power". Following a room be like. "Yeah! That's a great idea!"
Then they clapped, shook hands, and continued to make balance changes to your favorite game.
-
I figured it out. I threw so many games to get my mmr low enough that I can play to have fun, then just sacrifice the strongest survivor and weakest survivor and for the most part I stay around the same mmr.
At least it feels that way.
-
We don't have to like it, but by the end of the day we can't do anything about it.

That sucks.
I've been on the receiving end of similar messages many times as killer. Now all messages are blocked.
Never got messaged as a survivor though...
I think the saddest thing I've seen from this game is how obsessive some of these players get to be. I play PC for online gaming. I never played online multiplayer in any console. DbD had forced me to private my steam profile, and disable comments. However, players went out of their way to search my username online to find my online gaming profile for PSN, just to send me hate mail, calling me slurs, and telling me to kill myself.
I found these messages when I was setting up my PlayStation to watch Disney+ with my son (and family). It was my breaking point to start talking about this big problem in the community that isn't being addressed.
I learned you can disable receiving messages from everyone in PSN that night too.

No, they are not. Some of them are on your way and you can't advance through challenges without completing them. Otherwise you'd have to go around that specific challenge by attempting to complete a bunch of other challenges that are connected to each other.
I never once said "Wow drop 12-20 pallets while being chased by the killer. I'll do that passively through games".
Instead I equipped Windows of Opportunity and Object of Obsession, then had the Killer tunnel me till I pre-dropped all the pallets on the map, and suicided on hook.

Did I get all the dismissive comments these threads get? I just wanted to get them out of the way early before everyone else started to repeat the same delusional BS to dismiss this big issue in the game and community.
It's awful that you have to deal with this. I hope that BHVR starts to notice this issue, and does something about it soon. Try to find some positive community's to enjoy the game again playing survivor. The game is a lot more fun with friends - really the only reason I myself still plays anymore.

Is it balanced though?

surprised the new DbD art cover doesn't have Susie and Feng on it tbh, since those two characters are probably BHVRs breadwinners.
Time for the BHVR Office Xmas Vacation Holday Trip to a tropical country? Deploy the Feng skin!

p3 buff
the prestige 3 is useless and i think they should reword it in someway. having higher chance for ultra rare add ons and a skin is pointless now a days. i like the dripping blood skins tbh and its free but i would like something more for the effort of 3+ mill bp used on it.
face camping needs to be countered somehow, at least by first hook. getting downed by bubba or trapper and siting in the killer shack is kind of boring and makes you feel bad for killing yourself but like what are you gonna do? there is no way to get unhooked unless somehow people tank hits but with bubba its like you can't do anything.
and ttvs
i noticed and feel like the average ttv ######### talks and is bad at the game so they play surv to "act good and know what they are doing". i never AND I MEAN NEVER see ttvs on killer. i legit looked at twitch and its your average ttv just flashlighting and looping killers which i think is just boring to watch and not funny at all and you get a few killer streamers who just 1 trick killers.
the only ones i know is otz and true and zubatlel who actually plays a variety of killers and i guess there is some low view count streamers who do as well but just looking at the lobbys and twitch i just see survs.
i just hope the devs do something so more people played killer so
- more killer streamers to watch and enjoy.
- killers have more fun
- and last but least 3 q times are faster on surv and not the death sentence that we call q times that takes light years and then we end up being rank 1s playing in ash 4 since there is no one to play with us.
k bye
Cope is a streamer that plays Killer mainly, and isn't just a one trick (he plays some Survivor too).
They are planning to do something about the grind, maybe not something to Prestige directly. The grind is being talked about.
Camping is being talked about, the main issue is that they want to lessen the camping, especially face camping, but it's difficult to find a way that doesn't make something else stronger or abusable.
I think there is more Survivor Streamers than Killer simply because as Survivor you have more room to multi-task, so you have more opportunity to engage with your viewers.
-
When I run it, it doesn't feel like it's doing anything.
When I face it. It doesn't do anything.
Idk maybe the range is too small? or exposed timer is too short? Maybe it's in a good place, and just not being used because there is something better?

I'm on the fence about the whole make it base kit thing. Like how I see it, the perk never really was an issue for me to begin with, sometimes it sucked when the Survivors were so hard that the only choice I would have is to tunnel someone off hook, and waiting a grueling 16 seconds was practically costing me the game.
Most of the time however it was a non-issue, and I wouldn't even see it in the game till the scoreboard screen.
Though Borrowed Time has this weird place that sure you may never see it in a match, but you know chances are everyone is running it, and if you see someone not running it - you think they must be trolling. Like it's expected that every survivor HAS to take this perk, or you're selfish, bad, or something?
Right now I find the perk is in a really good spot. It does it's job well. You don't have to take it, and it balances out nicely in taking a whole perk slot. Like I'm more scared on what they will do to Borrowed Time if they made the perk base kit? I am more scared of the builds survivors may be able to do with that whole extra perk slot.
My vote on if it should be base kit or not? No.

Question - did anyone buy this already and does this offer something unique? Wondering because it costs 440 ACs instead of the regular 400 ACs a single piece would cost.
Just asking out of curiosity.
No it doesn't add anything extra. Just costs more because it looks so good.
-
You pretty much answered it yourself. 2 Kills is a draw for Killer. 2 Escapes is a draw for the team of survivors. Escape or die, doesn't actually matter on the Survivor side. Even the emblem system supports you dying. You can still double pip being sacrificed as survivor if you are in the game long enough and other factors.
-
It's interesting that a Killer is considered "S" tier when running a rare add-on. When Nurses even without add-ons is considered S tier.
-
Demo Doggo
-
I rarely ever see it anyways, and don't run it since it's useless. Any good survivors would have already cleansed the totems, and if not - they find it very quickly.
-
Honestly I want Killer to be fun again. I remember when I didn't dread loading as Killer to the point where if I don't have a Daily/Challenge to do as Killer - I just don't play Killer.
Before this year I could back to back Killer matches and enjoyed it win or lose. Now it's like even winning feels like losing, and this isn't just burn out. I had taken multiple breaks in between. Even going as far as to take a 3 month break, and still going back to the game was just stressful, except for when playing with Friends.
So make changes to fix that. Make playing Killer casually fun again.

The fact that you can't mix and match with other cosmetics.

Try playing Ace and you won't need Iron Will at all 🤣
-
Well the survivor still get's the free distance. They still would get the temporary speed boost for being hit, and on top of that it also ensures the invulnerability intended from Dead Hard. The only difference is that you're wounded.
So in a way you are buffing the perk, for a minor nerf. The perk would take less skill to use, and be more reliable in most situations, but on the other side you get the minor inconvenience of having to mend yourself if the Killer gives up chase.
-
I am actually scared, I am about to finish getting P3, and all perks on all my Killers, and the last thing I saw was a comment by Peanuts on another thread they were looking into "reducing the grind". I am worried that it will be like the bubba masks where you put in a lot of work for something, and then getting very little reward. It will suck if we get no reward at all.
-
NGL I am scared for them to change Dead Hard again.
Like we thought it was game breaking, and annoying to deal with now. How often do we have the team actually nerf strong survivor perks lately? Look at what happened to Borrowed Time.
-
Pretty good job so far.

Found a gen on this map.

I used to be really friendly, but it's just one "unalive yourself" too many that flips the switch and you just stop being nice to any other player anymore.
-
I had a guy actually get mad that his teammate didn't get hooked. Said they were useless and didn't contribute. Like bro, the only reason they didn't get hooked is because they couldn't get hit. Learn how to run from the Killer and maybe this wouldn't be a problem for you.
-
Oni, or Billy.
For some reason going at top speeds with Blight and hitting survivors is fine, but when I ready with Billy and Oni - Oh you can't figure out how to do that end of sprint flick.

Its not useless, its far more fair now, as it was highly abusable in certain areas of the game
and it's still abusable. To be honest I'm sure as long as the "drop down to add progress" exists on it then it's going to be swf's hot bully perk.

I honestly wonder how much of this game's issues retaining newer players is directly caused by the developers' 'pro trash talk' stance...
From what I can tell it's one of the leading issues that is making it so hard to retain players.
-
I would never say no to extra bloodpoints
-
Can we actually bowl on it, I think it would be funny to just whiff a bowling ball down the ally for the Killer to step out and get knocked in the face.
-
From what I can tell.
You hope.
-
So is Rancor.
But unalive isn't.
Interesting BHVR 🤔.
-
Watch out, I think I hear the people who complained about Spirit on their way in here to talk about "guessing" isn't a proper counter.
-
Is Blight over played? I find I don't face them much. Mostly Nurses, Huntresses, and the occasional Spirit.
I would probably put Blight as often as I see Freddy.

People always behave like everything outside of the meta us utter garbage, which isn't true. A lot of the perks can be used effectively, somewhat even surprisingly well, but they will never be meta in the forseeable future, because they are so special and niche.
You can be very effective with a Lithe build or even a Calm Spirit build, but here is the thing, you have to play a certain way in order to get millage out of those perks, and even then things can just not go your way: you didn`t alert any birds and the infectious Fright didn't make you scream! But the killer just randomly looked in your direction and saw you. Sad face :( While the meta perks will be helpful in any situation, thats why they are meta.
Still, I made a vow never to use DH as a survivor outside of Tome Challenges, and I guess I die more often because of it, but it also improved my survivor gameplay by a lot. The really good survivors can loop most killers for a long time, so they sometimes opt to not use DH and go for something else, just for fun. But those that still take DH are borderline invincible due to their mastery of the game.
Shh, they'll figure out that the best build is actually
Borrowed Time, Detective's Hunch, Lithe, and We'll Make ItMeta Perks* .Actually, all jokes aside, from my experience playing this game. I discovered that the "meta perks" are actually not all that strong in reality. They are merely just a reset button for fixing mistakes. However if you are good with survivor, then you don't make the mistakes that you would need the "meta perks", so then you can use Perks that instead make you better at achieving your objectives (which in my case is getting BP, and Emblems).
For example, my issue with Decisive Strike is I would take it, and never use it in a match. I would get unhooked, the Killer would try to "tunnel" me. I would go to the nearest safe loop, and then run the killer for 80+ seconds. Not much use did Decisive do me, however with Detectives Hunch. I can find the nearest gen, the killers hex totems, and know where chests are ahead of time if I need a heal/toolbox/flashlight in a crutch situation, which normally would take longer to find because of map rng.
I could use Dead Hard to give me a new health state, or dodge the killers attack to fix a mistake I made looping. Or I take Lithe, and do have the ability to reach the next loop, and lose the killer's chase temporarily to give me that sweet Evader emblem - since I already know map layout, and am skilled a pre planning my route mid chase, I don't need Dead Hard to correct a mistake I wouldn't make. So on and so fourth.
Edit: Oh and dozens of times players are proving that you can escape just as easily with no perks at all.

dude its not time locked, there are ppl who still havent boought the dlc and they still got it
I never said it was. I just posted my experience responding to AndronikJack's theories, the information helps figure out exactly how one gets the charm (whilst trying to figure out what is a bug) through the process of elimination.
Catch up, you're not on the right page.

This charm pulled my account out of retirement. We need to know how to get this charm. If it was a one day secret log-in event I'll be upset that I missed it through sheer coincidence. I've played most the other days, and gotten almost all the achievements (Still need the heal one)
---Ideas for how to unlock it?---
-Its time locked: You need to perform an action then wait 7 days
-Repeating an action 7 times
---As Survivor---
-Watch the TV in a match with Sadako, the secret intro is what is shown on screen, though its fuzzy
-Left a match holding a VHS. Or while Condemned / Condemned & Holding tape
-Turning off/on multiple TVs in a match
-Healing / Being healed while condemned
-Get Condemned Mori'd
Also the description for the VHS tape mentions
- "Can be inserted into another TV to spread The Onryō's message"
---As Killer---
-Onryo has 3 possible addons:
brown "Videotape Copy", purple "VHS Player", green "Ring Drawing"
- Ring Drawing: "Condemned Survivors spread their Condemnation to other Survivors, who complete a Healing action on them."
I'm hoping this is like the secret 'Vic Viper' charm, where its in the game you just need to unlock it. Seriously, if this was a secret 1 day event this will upset all of their completion players.
I still do not have this charm, and I was trying all sorts of esoteric actions to try and unlock it. If anyone has any ideas, please update. We need to solve this!!
I got it 7 days after buying the DLC.

I'm afraid of what even one hook would do down there. It's already one of the strongest basements in the game. A regular hook would still be very campable, depending on where they place it down there. Also, I just thought of something. Does the height of the downstairs even accommodate enough space for a hook placement?
Maybe a guaranteed hook spawn right next to each of the breakable walls?
Like just outside the breakable wall, so you don't have to walk to the fence, or around the corner. Yeah that might work as well, because it is that final stretch that gets you.
-
Because when you start blocking spawn locations based on 'if it's near x' then that gives the players the ability to get an idea of the direction they need to go to find 'x'
-
@Emeal said:
You should put this in Feedback/Suggestions.
Can we please have the possibility for a hook to spawn in the basement of Springwood.
Yeah that probably is a better place for it, thanks
