Bear traps are not guaranteed kills, if survivors have the will to survive they will escape them just like the films.
-
Adrenaline is superior if you are good at looping, urban is the obvious choice if you want to avoid chases.

The only way to counter the DS atm.
You cant be dropped during animation, basically the killer has to hit an invisible perfect skillcheck without sound notification for that.Damn, Im glad that DS is gonna be reworked soon
It's actually an exploit that has been fixed on the ptb, juggling is the sanctioned counter by the devs for d-strike.
-
They read them occasionally but I doubt they will ever respond to any specific post.

A soft buff would be during a flashlight stun, or decisive strike that wakes a player up, they bring freddy into the real world permanently and he doesn't need to put people to sleep anymore. I think this would help make him fun for both killers and survivors in the long run, risk making him stronger at the same rate making gens easier to complete. In the real world freddy could have no terror radius lullaby to counteract his lack of invisibility.

This is a great example why I am against this change that just happened after a game. Lol

DS would have been fine if one person uses it, it's a big problem when 4 survivors uses it at the same timeDevs changes sounds better imo, your suggestion isn't bad, but any good killers will always be able to hit that skill check
Maybe another slight buff would be to allow a survivor to choose when to activate their decisive strike, activating it while another survivor blinds the killer with a flashlight would still give the intended effect the devs originally wanted by hiding the skillcheck wheel during a blind, but the change would be more versatile. Choose whether to activate it immediately or within a few feet of the hook, while the killer is swinging at a body-blocker or walking through a pallet, ect. It opens up many chances of skilled or well informed decisions putting the "decisive" in the time to strike.
This is one of my few frustrations with using DS, I don't like that it's forced at the beginning if I am the obsession. I think that DS and Sprint Burst should be button activated perks like Dead Hard.
It would be a welcome change, I generally take dead hard more often then Sprintburst since most gens are relatively close to a pallet that you can reach before the killer gets close, I usually just end up wasting Sprintburst anyways since walking around is inefficient in the long run. > @CoolAKn said:

Perhaps change it up where only the obsession can use it as advertised? For non-obsessions, this perk would still need to have some benefit and still be relevant to the name. Perhaps an alternate bonus to stunning? It would provide a slightly longer stun time for stunning a killer (flashlight or pallet) only while they are carrying another survivor.
I think the devs change is a decent pick for non obsessions, a couple second stun that keeps you on the killers shoulder. Maybe even a soft buff to pallet dropping speed to keep it in line with "decisive striking".
-
Agreed, bringing them down to baseline can only help the game in the long run, devs can then balance survivors around all 14 killers in place of how well survivors with certain perks do against the two "viable" ones, I'd like all killers and survivors to be fun to play as and against no matter what rank. It's no secret the only reason people bring sprint-burst, d-strike, borrowed time, self-care or adrenaline is because they are the only perks that can extend chases in high ranks, however they just lead to abuse against killers who cannot one-shot easily where a chase without nurses blinks or billys chainsaw turn into 3 gens popping without even getting a hook thanks to decisive. With them more in line survivors perks can get tweaked to make every killer viable and no survivor able to run circles for 3 minutes.

Freddy needs a whole new ability that doesn't leave him useless for 7 seconds.

I don't hate it, I don't even really know much about it but isn't it a game already? Why put it in ours when we could get original killers? If u wanna play FNAF then just play that game.I'd prefer a homebrew animatronic killer to a licensed one, more freedom for cosmetics and map design.

You're so oblivious to how much this can help the survivor side as well. It won't just help the killer but the survivor as well, c'mon what's the absolute that can happen? Give it a chance, if it's too much then they can remove it from the PTB.
It's just my opinion, if the devs want to test it on the ptb I'm all for it, in the end I have no sway over what goes into the game, I just prefer if the gameplay doesn't become second nature when it comes to chases where you don't have to keep track of different players, their health states, ect.

Umm, wow rude, I'm not brain dead. I can reach rank 1 killer and rank 1 survivor with ease (It's just a little bit harder to reach rank 1 with killer) without my suggestion but It's just convenient for both sides, NOT JUST the killer. Seriously tell me why is this such a bad idea? It would just make things a little more easier and can help Solo Q survivors out.
Cool characters
I don't see how that's even an "advantage" for the killer.....so @Killmaster was just being hateful for no reason.
I'm not being hateful but the current setup require killers to have to remember who they downed, who is playing as certain characters and require some skill. No reason to make the game easier when it doesn't need to be, especially for something as trivial as this. Also sorry if I came off rude, what I meant by braindead is that the game should require some for-thought and not simply be second nature for every chase, otherwise when two people are next to a hook and just healed the killer could easily tell who they hooked before and chase them, if the killer forgot who then that punishes them in place of rewarding them for nothing. It's sleight meta gameplay that helps increase the skill ceiling and cap between top teir and mid-teir killers. Just my two cents.

Yeah a balanced idea for an unbalanced killer, sorry you want every match to require no brain to play and just down everyone within 15 seconds of a chase.
Balanced in your mind but to those on this forum without delusions on what is considered balanced your idea would make her worse than freddy lol
If you can't keep track of a survivor during a blind 2 second blink then you deserve to lose them. Nurse and billy are overpowered in their current state, other killers are relatively balanced besides Freddie. They are the goal the game should strive for, not more killers who don't require any skill to play in the long run.

Do I even have to say it?

No point in playing past a couple days if your not making real progress and bloodpoint gains.
-
I have more of a problem with bubbas movement speed while revving his chainsaw, billy is at-least counter-able by doing 360s and loops, maybe a 90% movement speed while revving would keep him from just walking behind you then reving for an instadown vs a regular hit.
-
I think shes fine as is and can steamroll with good addons, with proper trap placement she can counter loops easily.
-

For people questioning my proficiency and who only have to say "get gud" this was at solo que red ranks against a billy with BBQ, the only thing that would have stopped him from 4king was that he didn't chainsaw instadown and instead went for standard melee hits on a smaller map Shelter Woods which leaves his bbq relatively useless.

I don't even want a hard nerf literally a 20-30 second cooldown to stop him from snowballing every game with down, hook, bbq, unhook, return to hook, down unhooked, hook, bbq, hook, down, unhook, return to hook ect ect. It's not fun or interesting gameplay. He's in a constant chase after first hook that doesn't end.
-
Rank should be based on total escapes vs sacrifices. Good survivors and good killers will meet somewhere along the line and balance each other out.Mister_xD said:cause its too ez to rank up.
if killers were stronger, only skilled survivors would be there. but since they are back at nerfing them again, ist gonna be even easier for unskilled survivors to get there. -
I’ll take it, I only play survivor anyways. Not really any heartfelt story to gain simpathy on why I should get it, I’ll just wear them for status occasionally.
-
I think it's marginally toxic, for some reason most 3 gen strats I've run into are Bubbas who relentlessly patrol 3 gens at endgame and refuse to hook anyone if they get a down. It's just bm at that point, nobody wants to wait 30 minutes to tap a gen run repeat, most of us just want to get onto the next game, sure a SWF friends can easily counter a 3gen but solo ques are too disorganized to realize it before it happens. IMO it just isn't a fun play-style for anyone.
-
I think it's just solo Ques who don't want to deal with nurse/billy. SWF aren't going to leave and will bring out all the meta perks/items.

Sure, survivor controls the position of the skillcheck while the killer can counteract to wiggling, has to hit through bodyblocking survivors, plan his path around pallets and avoid flashlights.Seems like a solid idea.
I like the idea but this is a fair point.
Anyway the devs have confirmed changes are coming to Decisive Strike and they already know what they're gonna do with it. I don't know what the proposed changes are though so if anyone could tell me I would appreciate it!
The plan is that the survivor can stun the killer just like it is now for a certain amount of time. The difference is that the survivor isnt dropped anymore and that other survivors have to assist with flashlights/palllets to free the grabed survivor. DS is supposed to be triggered manually, guess like deadhard with a button instead of a skillcheck (that wasnt really precise when they explained it though)
I feel it will definitely push decisive out of meta, BT/Unbreakable/Adren will take it's place as the get outta jail free perks.

Not an argument, hiding behind a gen isn’t a counter to bbq, I can’t control other survivors who can’t loop either and get downed with 10 seconds. Unless you can get gud and 4k without bbq your opinion is irrelevant.
Its all the argument that is needed. Good survivors dont come to the forums crying Hillbilly OP plz nerf. I dont have a problem at all playing against the Hillbilly with BBQ and alot of people on these forums dont have an issue with it either. There is plenty of counters to use against the Hillbilly with BBQ. Most notably the mind games if you dont have a gen near by that you can hide your Aura.
- If the Billy is far away when he hooks someone and there is no gen near by you can fake your direction. The Billy is going to have to anticipate your location when he gets near you. Its not hard to throw him for a loop.
- Put solid objects between you and when he hooks someone. The Billy under most circumstances has terrible maneuverability when sprinting if there is alot of debris and buildings near you put yourself between them so that he dosent have a straight shot to you. It will force him to stop the sprint and enter cool down allowing you more time to sneak away
- The Billy only gets BBQ aura reading when a survivor is 40 meters away at the point he hooks someone if the perk is tier 3. 40 meters is a large distance. 8 meters greater than his base terror radius. If you see him put someone down and he is going to pick them up haul ass to his location. I can promise that unless your in the ass end of the other side of the map you will get within 40 meters of him before the hook. If you cant get within 40 meters then you were to far away anyways and should refer to the last two points.
Seriously this ######### isen't rocket science. So yes, G.I.T.G.U.D
Do you know what people would do if hillbilly actually wasn't a problem with BBQ and I posted this? They wouldn't even bother acknowledging my post because they'd know I was wrong, everyone here seems to be defending BBQ and billy vehemently, why is that so? If it wasn't a problem you wouldn't be here, defending it. There is no effective counter to aura reading, walking one direction for 5 seconds still gives him a general idea of your location and your not sprint-bursting out of the area without leaving scratchmarks. Sure you could try urban evading if your lucky but he will either eventually find you and if not he will simply fly back to the hook the second someone is unhooked and they are not getting far with blood pools, let alone trying to sprint away leaves scratch-marks for him to follow.

I'm wondering why he doesn't have to clean up his chainsaw after using it on a survivor, would it be gummed up with survivor bits? But I don't even wanna Google whether that would be a thing or not irl.It would make an interesting perk, "Thick Skinned" attacks that would damage two health states, only inflict one. Good soft counter to noed, rancor, ew3 myers, billy, and bubba.

@Someissues said:
30 seconds cooldown? Do you want to make him as useless as the Spirit?so are we gonna put 15 seconds cooldown on Nurse next?
The cooldown is after he downs a player with the chainsaw not after everytime he revs it up, sorry if I didn't make that clear in the OP. It's to stop snowballing when combined with bbq, billy can fly around the map as much as he wants but the second that chainsaw downs a survivor it should get a cool down to give players breathing room.

Right now he is too powerful and snowballs games too quickly at highranks when combined with bbq survivors have no chance and it turns into a slugfest. My proposal is simple, put a 30 second cooldown on his chainsaw after he downs someone with it. This way he cannot just fly across the map immediately after hooking someone. It’s a soft nerf but atleast gives survivors some breathing room for stealth and not just instadown chainsaw, hook, bbq, fly across map and repeat. You misunderstood the devs.
Yeah they said not every killer is supposed to be viable at high rank.
But that does NOT mean that all killers have to be turned into unviable killers
Unviable would mean that the killer no matter how hard they tried couldn't hook a single survivor, 2k is viable, at high ranks it should be a stalemate with both killers and survivors using every trick in the book against eachother, I'm talking Mori's, addons, instaheals, ect. I'd save this for a different topic but IMO rank should be based on perks and addons not pipping. A weighted score before you enter a lobby determines how toxic a killer and survivors would be in that game, this would also require no changing of perks in the lobby. This way you don't get tombstone myers on rank 15s nor 4 bnps against a rank 20 killer.
-
They just need to balance the game around SWF and have built in voip for solo ques, it's literally the only solution that won't kill the game completely for groups of friends.
-
No change the devs are willing to make would ever make sabo viable again, it's simply too situational and diverts too much time away from doing gens to be worthwhile in any capacity. Decisive is essentially a free hook pop for every user and only requires one person, where-as sabo requires you to not only disable the hook to 99% but then be close enough to drop it next to the killer. Valuable gen time wasted.
-
@RagingCalm said:
The OP"s proposed change would have very nasty unintended side effects. Just make the Carburater Tuning Guide not as strong. It is literally the effects of over 3 add-ons in one, and only green rarityWhat would you consider billys main ability? One shotting with the chainsaw or being able to fly across the map with it? The killer can still use his mallet for downing a survivor if he doesn't want to waste his chainsaw, it would simply extend the chase a little longer allowing for more gen progress to be made. If Billy wants to oneshot someone then he can hit him with his chainsaw and suffer a cooldown, so he simply cannot fly to another player across the map. It's a valid balance change that I think would make him more fun for survivors and a little more forethought for killers to consider whether chainsawing someone is worth losing map control temporarily.

Okay what is the counter to Bbq and billy? Define “get gud” besides looping, sprintburst, bnp, flashlights, and decisive? Do you have any valid discussion or insightful opinions? There is zero stealth play once a billy hooks someone, just constant chases with the threat of instant downs. No counterplay. Period. No other killer has a secondary ability that can apply as much pressure as Billy’s chainsaw with bbq. You all know it’s broken, without it most killers would 2k-3k at high ranks instead of constant 4ks.
Insta chainsaw doesn't exist, he has lost "insta chainsaw" when he changed Tinkerer in the last chapter, all killers should be just strong as Hillbilly, he has to be reference for other killers.
Learn to play first, this game can don't be adjust to people without any skill.
I'm referring to his ability to one shot survivors with a single hit, shutting down most chases quickly. I'd argue that Huntress, Myers or Clown are more-so what the devs should strive for in terms of balance. Besides the occasional permanent EW3 Myers I don't feel cheated in games with them and generally enjoy the chases/mindgames involving them. Billy is just flat-out annoying,, my problem is moreso with his synergy with BBQ and less with Billy's mechanics all-together however in comparison to other killers his abilities are leagues above others with clowns toxin coming close third behind the nurses blinks. To put it in simpler terms playing against a billy with bbq is just plain unfun, my change would atleast give people a chance to hide before he appears right next to them, billy can close the distance in under 5 seconds on big maps leaving very little time to hide, by the time he hooks 10-15 seconds could have passed anyways, it gives time for people to maneuver or finish gens after a down. Bbq isn't a big problem on slower killers, but on billy it is too much.

Simple if survs use one perk most say is crap saboteur if you break the outside hooks even downed he has to drag you to the basement so tell me how often are people sent to the basement at red ranks not many because its always quick hooks no escape so again break the hooks make it harderSabo is a joke perk in it's current form, better balance would be two hooks allowed to be permanently sabo'd. This way you could shut down certain parts of the map to work on gens, you could still sabo a third hook but the first one would respawn like it does currently.
