  • It used to be. Then you find out how much ranks never really mattered.

  • When all else fails, go immersed or in a locker while is power is active and you hear him nearby. If he can't find anyone and essentially wastes his power, it can do real harm to his chances of winning and tip the scales in your favor.

Have you not been playing for the past year? What you described is how it used to be. Now it's the opposite. But continue on with your incorrect assumptions, I don't care.

I've been playing since the game's release 😂But continue with your incorrect assumptions, I don't care.

There was a time when it was survivor-sided, but it hasn't been that way for a year, maybe two.

The devs are killer-sided by the sheer fact that every release is in the killer's favor. It's obvious. And it's only going to get worse with the stupid beginning of the game mechanic.

When the patches start containing more than bug fixes for survivors, we'll talk. Until then, the patch notes speak for themselves buddy.

ROFL The devs? The Dbd devs? Killer-sided? 🤣They strip away and gut killer powers notoriously. Anything overly killer sided is fixed within days(Release Freddy). Anything overly survivor sided is fixed in weeks, months, if that (WAKE UP). Survivors are still strong as ever. The only difference is they removed some double pallet areas, nerfed MoM and BT, starting to ease the burden of god loops and adding breakable walls in hopes killers stop quitting the game. Survivor gameplay hasn't changed since release with the exception of totems and that's only if they feel like doing them.

I have over 1800 hours. Definitely not new to the game.

I can loop for a long time. I just disagree on your assessment of the pallets. But that's fine, we can agree to disagree.

It is killer-sided. Notice that all of the updates are killer-favored. There has been no buff or new thing for survivors in a long time (other than DLCs).

It takes 4 survivors and 1 killer to play a match. If BHVR continues to cater to killers, there won't be anyone to play with as the survivors will continue to dwindler. So go on with the assertion that it's survivor-sided. See where it leads you!

lol how is it NOT survivor sided? Survivors came out of the box GODLIKE since release and they're still strong today. They're the majority of their playerbase, so why would you think survivors aren't in the minds of the devs at all times?

  • @Thiccsty9 said:

Get rid of the fake spirit left behind when she phases. I personally think it doesn't make sense for it to stay behind anyway, this would allow her to be just as strong in some cases, while eliminating the ability to fake a phase. I just think overall it would help solve a lot of what makes her feel broken.

Let her see survivors while phasing to balance that out from her side of things.

  • I mean, is anyone taking YOU seriously? lmao

You are litterly proving my post right that's what.

You say the forums have a killer bias. I say devs have a survivor bias. Which one actually makes a difference? 🤣

  • @azame said:

After using this forum for some time the amount of killer bias here is insane. Any thing that even slightly benefits survivors is looked down upon. I think the main reason for this bias is do to the fact that in the past survivors were op but nowadays they arent that strong.

But because of the effects of 2016-rarly 2018 real survivor problems are ignored and that's not good. If we continue to ignore problems survivors face the player base will decline and the killer wait times will increase and inevitably the game will die.

Killer mains stop looking at survivors as someone out to ruin your game and look st them as a human wanting to have fun playing too.

I'm tired of the us vs them mentality why cant it be just "us." Why can't we look at all the problems as a whole and work to fix them. I ask killer mains and survivor mains alike play the opposite side and get good at it try to understand their struggles.

For you killer mains that say survivor is op go plag solo survivor at rank 1 and ask yourself do you want to play swf or that. For you survivor mains that think killer is op go play wraith on ormond and ask yourself is this even fair.

You guys know moris and keys right? Yeah they are both broken they both need reworks. The point I'm trying to make is that we need to get together and combine the community rather than divide and only then will dbd improve its health.

So what? Killers are what makes this game interesting, not survivors.

Don't we have two ugly dudes with chainsaws, two killers in white masks who stalk their prey and two killers with similar concept behind them (Legion, Ghostface, it might not be very obvious here)?

That somehow makes yet another clown less boring? You're not convincing me.

You said survivors use the same meta perks for years like it's something bad. And I pointed out killers do the same exact thing and it's completely fair for both sides to run whatever they feel like running.

Okay, so I was right about you. Thanks for clarifying.

Killers use the same 5-6 meta perks too. Your point is? Everyone is free to run whatever they want to run.

I'm sorry, what conversation are you having here? Did you just blindly reply to me without context?

You sound like that never happens. Survivors using the same meta perks has been around for years.

  • 2 v 8 just sounds dumb. 1 v 4 can be hard enough with game mechanics as they are, there's no way to make a 2 v 8 that's fun and fair.

  • Playing killer at times can be the most frustrating ######### thing, yet I somehow find myself liking that ######### show more than survivor somehow. I must be touched in the head 😅

  • Survivors can be the same way. Probably far more than killers, as there's simply more of them. And if they're streamers, it's even worse. Gotta look on camera, after all.

  • Multiple second chance perks on each survivor.

Your guess couldn't be more off target. Nobody pressured them, nobody called them homophobic, nobody did anything to them. Mathieu had a conversation with one guy who pointed out that despite them saying they weren't going to hint at characters' orientations in the lore, they'd actually been doing it since the Nurse was released, but only to heterosexual characters. The tweet was essentially saying "We're not going to restrict ourselves to just heterosexual relationships any more".

So, they got called out and then the tweet happened. Makes me think my guess wasn't so off target.

  • @Actionjacksn said:

What do you think guys, why LGBT is so important for the devs, because of the equality what it represents or because of the profit? If it would not be a trend right now, the devs would make stand for it?

If I had to guess, I'd say it was to avoid being labeled homophobic before someone accused them. Sort of a safety net that every other company uses these days.

When they started live streaming weekly they never shied away from showing fan art that had same sex relationships, but only now after 4 years they have to come out with a tweet that reads like they're being pressured. That they were inclusive and diverse shouldn't have been in question, but 2020 is a hell of a year.

  • You got Clown in an elephant suit. That's basically what a FNAF killer would be.

  • Survivor second chance perks punish killers harshly for just playing normally.

Getting a hit on someone and going in for the down? Dead hard is used and instead of ending chase and getting a hook, they chase continues for who knows how much longer. Have a successful snowball, downing multiple survivors? Unbreakable snatches a victory for the killer and can cause them to lose for capitalizing a situation. There's other examples, but the point is that it is incredibly frustrating as a killer to go up against survivors who EACH have multiple second chance perks. Not only frustrating, but also detrimental to the entirety of the match. If they didn't always have so many, the game would at least feel more fair.

The thing is people don't want survivors to gen rush. If survivors are actively looking for the last totems then it gives the killer more chance of downing them beforehand. Maybe as a compromise the killer can see the auras of all totems during the trial. That way if they have noed they can protect a particular totem if they want it to become noed.

Personally I just see noed as another reason solo players are encouraged to play swf.

I'd rather they add something else to counter the gen rush than make it easier than it already is to cleanse every totem. As for NOED itself, it's weaker now than it has ever been. It was strong before SWF was added to the game, since it simply activated with no need for a totem. Now it can not even see use. If a solo player sees NOED is up after gens are done, they can still get out. It doesn't encourage SWF, it encourages breaking totems and there's already perks and items to help deal with those.

  • There's so much spinechill these days that stalking seems counter productive at times..

  • @CashelP14 said:

They don't really need to counter noed. I personally believe that they need to add a totem counter to help solo players since it's harder to keep track of how many totems have been destroyed.

It would provide incentive for survivors to look for totems when they see only 1 or 2 totems are left.

A totem counter would be too helpful for survivors. Much like 99%ing an exit gate, they'll just not pop the last gen til the last totem is found and there goes any chance for NOED. Part of the fun of NOED is it coming out of nowhere, but a counter just, to me, seems like it'd only make it easier than it already is to prevent NOED from activating.

  • It's really not a big deal.

  • Try ArchdruidDrey's build. He's a doc main and it seems to work really well. BBQ&Chili, Iron Maiden, STBFL, and Surge.

  • I think that'll be addressed as they update the maps. The totem spawns have been better in their newer maps (New Lery's, Dead Dawg Saloon, Silent Hill map) so I think it's being done alongside those updates, which means it may just be a matter of time at this point.

  • @upsetelcor said:

Let me preface this by saying I am a killer main. I don't often play survivor, so maybe my view on things for survivors isn't great. However, there's a blatant issue with Pyramid Head. Why don't BT, DS, Pop, etc. work with cages, but moris do? The logic behind being unable to use DS and BT with cages is that they are HOOK perks. Okay, whatever. It's really yikes that this killer literally encourages tunneling, but that's just the game for you. If you can't use your hook perks out of the cage, you shouldn't be able to mori out of the cage.

Moris specifically say (we'll go with an ivory for simplicity) "Grants the ability to kill one Survivor who has been hooked by your hand during the next Trial."

Well, if the cages don't count as hooks for the perks, why should they count as hooks for moris? For that matter, if cages don't count as hooks, why can you hook someone and cage them, for the same 3 states?

For real, man. Pyramid Head is so bad for the game right now. The pure, unadulterated tunneling right now is absurd. Sure, sending a survivor to the cage puts them on the other side of the map, but you can still see the cage, so what's stopping you from going after the survivor again, when they're injured, pretty much completely defenseless and fresh out of the cage? You can't really avoid the trails of torment in chases without nearly guaranteeing giving the killer a hit or a down. You may be able to urban evade through it but in my opinion, there should not be a single killer that makes you put on a perk on the off chance you get them.

BHVR, you say you want the game to be fun for everyone, and from a killers perspective, this absolutely does not seem fun for survivors at all. The tunneling is absolutely rampant right now, and its making half your playerbase want to quit. God knows first 3 games as survivor I played, I got tunneled all 3, and don't want to play survivor at all right now.

Seriously man, I don't understand why BHVR added a killer who literally does something the community has been bothered by for literal years and it needs to be changed. If tunneling has irked the community for years, why make it so easy for PH? He can pick survivors up, just like every other killer. He shouldn't be any sort of special about it. I understand it's supposed to be a cool new mechanic, but in reality, it's making people genuinely not want to play. There is no sort of fun in being tunneled, and it should not be encouraged like this.

Feel free to tell me I'm just whining if you must, but after seeing it from the killers perspective and the survivors, I really do not see where this is good for the game at all.

I don't know... Preventing BT, DS, and the choice to tunnel almost seems like Pyramid Head applies... pressure. Y'know, that thing killers are supposed to do?

  • @ZaKzan said:

why would the devs appeal to 20% of the playerbase at the expense of 80% of the playerbase?

You'd think they should, since a match with 4 survivors and no killer wouldn't be very entertaining.

  • Sloppy Butcher, I'm finding, is really useful on him. If I use a basic attack, it's almost always for the first hit, but actually downing them has been with his power more so than another basic attack (thus, surge feels like a waste on him). BBQ is nice and all, but I also don't always hook with him, since caging saves so much time when it's available, so infectious fright is good for downing, caging, then going after those who screamed around me. STBFL is interesting, too The last one, you could use BBQ, I guess. I did find that Dark Devotion was actually quite fun with him. Slap the obsession, break chase, and sneak up on the others. Spooks them real good. 😄

  • Now I can't have Bubba carve them up with his chainsaw while they're hooked :( That was fun.

  • @Snowstruck said:

I just had a doctor that tunneled/camped me till I died.

He nodded at me when he hooked me for a good 10 seconds, spammed his shock, etc.

He kept losing chases to go for me off hook.

He would go straight for me and was bming.

Like dude whatever, tunnel me all you want, but do you have to bm to piss me off?

And all I have to say is.. I pallet saved someone (his mistake?) and had a crown..

God I hate this community so much.

When you deny a killer a hook you don't think they might take it badly? Missing out on a hook can be devastating to a killer's momentum and is frustrating. What did you expect? The killer to applaud your bravery?

  • @FlamingkittyUmad said:

First of all, the obvious: getting a crown as killer is a thousand times easier than for survivor. Anyone who says otherwise is objectively biased and wrong.

And ON TOP of that, characters who already have the crown (killers AND survivors) can still grab the crown, denying other people. and as a surprise to absolutely no one, Killers are doing more tunneling and camping than usual to ensure survivors don't escape, and unless you're playing in a SWF group you're already at a major disadvantage as survivor.

This event is just barely better than the lanterns event where killers could entirely deny survivors by permanently destroying all lanterns on the map. if you want to make this event more fair, let the last living survivor keep their crown on death OR change the "survive" objective to do a gen or something. I know survivors suiciding on hook to quickly secure a crown could be a problem, but not nearly as much as a problem as not being able to get a crown because you play solo queue

Yes, let's go back to the times when survivors could sabotage our event hooks. That's so much more fun. Killers will definitely want to play killers during such an event. Right? Right?

How are you not getting the point of @JimPickens?

thats kind of sad but also pretty hilarious XD

I understand his point. I just found it to be bad and funny.

  • Of course gen rush exists. The term itself was coined because of the play style. Ignoring totems, ignoring healing, ignoring rescues just to complete gens as quick and efficiently as possible. It results in a very quick match, fewer blood point rewards all around, and the killer will generally not have had much fun. That's why old Hex Ruin was used so often, it actually helped slow gen completion down. On the flip side, a killer's equivalent to gen rushing would be tunneling/camping. It's the easiest way to secure a kill, but the survivor will not have had a fun match.

  • @JimPickens said:

Yeah. I played silent hill 1 through 3. I also watched the nightmare on elm remake. I've never played resident evil or five night at freddys.

My experiences with these properties does not make them more or less horror. In fact have you played all those silent hill games? You watch the remake? Does that make their exclusion any less legitimate? Of course not it doesn't make any sense

You haven't seen the film and bring up those horror franchises as examples? That's hilarious lol

  • You also mentioned you never watched it.

  • Bringing a drag queen into Dbd just sounds stupid. I'm all for the Leatherface skin-mask ideas, but that's at least keeping it in the horror theme.

  • I want an Oni skin that looks like an actual oni. Red skin, blue skin, oversized kanabo, the works!

Deathslinger skin would be a Smoker from Left 4 Dead. Plague, a big, fat boomer.

Spirit: A nurse skin from Silent Hill. She's got the twitchy movements that would work well with it.

  • As someone who has legacy, I don't see the big deal. Back then, they were cool, because the cosmetic choices were extremely limited. The cosmetics you have today, though, are far, far better than just some glitter slapped on. I personally wouldn't mind if anyone else got legacy today, because they're really just not that impressive to me.
