Bubba, Oni, and Deathslinger. Bubba I took a real liking to with the Nemesis + PWYF combo's introduction. Oni just feels like a beast and I love it. Deathslinger is just so fun. I like the sound of his gun, both firing, reeling in, and reloading. Like a killer ASMR 😅

Pyramid Head's ranged attack is problematic from a gameplay and fun perspective, both for killer and survivor. As a killer, it is rarely optimal to actually use it due to the huge audio/visual telegraphs and the severe punishment for missing. As a survivor, you are given an often binary choice: take the window/drop the pallet and get hit with the shockwave, or keep running and get M1'd. There is nothing skill based about this interaction because the ranged attack has a huge telegraph and little to no flick. It either gets used or it doesn't.
This highlights what it is in my opinion a very disturbing trend in killer powers within the last year. Simply put, the game is being dumbed down. Most of the killers released within the last year have one of two problems: they simply require you to "do the thing" without any real knowledge of the game itself or mechanical skill, or their power is so punishing with such little upside that it's better used as a zoning tool.
Freddy doesn't need to know how to run a tile when he can snare bomb it. Doc doesn't need to know how to run a tile when he can shock repeatedly. Demo's shred can be good, but you often get hits by not actually using it at all, and missing is worse than the alternative. Deathslinger is usually the same as Demo in that regard. And Pyramid Head is the worst of them all in terms of power reward vs punishment.
Braindead killer powers or unskillful killer powers simply aren't fun for either side. Whenever the question is asked of which killer people enjoy playing against the most, Nurse, Billy, and Huntress are often near the top. Why? Those are SKILLFUL killers, both to play as and against. It's ok for a killer to be powerful when there is an actual skilled interaction going on between the killer and survivor. Making reads on a Nurse but ultimately losing in a few seconds is fun compared to being snare spammed by a Freddy because the Nurse actually had to put time and effort into something and there was counterplay available to the survivor in the moment.
When you dumb down the killer powers, put a hard skill ceiling on the power, and limit the killer's upside, the whole game suffers.
Pyramid Head can still be looped, faked out, and gen rushed. Just like any of the other killer with "braindead powers".

It was an issue before, but it seems that, especially in the last week or so, it has gotten way out of hand. I main survivor but I play as a killer, too and no matter what, I try to play fair. Camping and tunneling isn't playing fair at all. In fact, I see it as cheating. If you cannot get sacrifices without playing fairly, then you shouldn't be playing at all. I've been saving screen shots and gameplay of anyone using these tactics and I'm seriously considering putting everyone on blast.
Anyone trying to defend these tactics is just as guilty. I don't care what you say, it's unfair and uncalled for.
What even is 'playing fair'? As killer, I'm up against survivors who use every trick in the book to gain the upper hand, but if I do the same thing then I'm "sweaty", "cheap", or I "don't belong in my rank". If you want to talk about fairness, then start by not demonizing killers for trying to do their objective.
-
Oh, it's no contest. Survivors.
-
I mained Hillbilly for like.. the first year or so of DBD and while he did the trick, the Oni is just more fun. Billy's better, of course, since his power is always at the ready, but the way Oni just roars, whips out the kanabo, and pounds the ground after a hit is just so satisfying. He feels like a real powerful monster... like an Oni 😅 He's a bit clunky for me (I play with controller on PC, sue me), but he really has stood out to me as one of the most fun killers to play as.

Adrenaline is hardly a second chance perk. Think of it more as a reward for completing all the generators.
Oh, it's totally a second chance perk. Down on the ground and vulnerable to being picked up and hook? SECOND CHANCE! Killer chasing you, about to land the final blow? SECOND CHANCE! Just call it what it is. No shame in it.
-
So, a counter so some of those pesky second chance perks. Can't have that! 🤣

See for me he's one of the more difficult killers to play against too, which is why I think I'm leaning towards him. I also like that he eats blood gobs.
The blood globs are great for tracking, too. Plus, just how he sounds when he goes into the blood rage, pulls out his kanabō, and clubs the ground with it after downing a survivor is super satisfying. He FEELS powerful.
-
I find Oni to be more fun. If you're good with the range, though, Huntress may be for you. Really depends if you wanna throw hatchets or hulk smash the survivors.
-
The new map is basically a big middle finger to killers.

PH is not weak the issue is the strong killer are op compare to him i believe PH will be on the same level as demogorgon so the fact this killer will be balance he will see less play later in the week
Demogorgon has portals and a gap closing lung that could hit in a narrow path. PH's attack can miss someone in the same narrow path and has nothing no way to pressure gens. He still feels weak to me.

Feels weak? ... please tell me you're joking
Nope.

I agree. It's such an archaic feature.

I play both killer and survivor. Survivor rank 1 and killer rank 2 at the moment.
However, I believe the new killer is too strong for red rank killer mains and needs a balance for the following reasons:
2-He has a quick mori, and there is no way to get out of torment unless you rescue someone from the cage
3- DS or BT does not work on the cage.
4- His ground power is too long and you can try to loop around but its still hard.
5- I feel that this killer does not require any real skill for you to be good with it and that isn't
For example: I love the Deathslinger because he requires a lot of strategy, he is fun to play and you have to get good with it to actually get kills.
I understand this new killer is different but in order to be a bit fair for everyone he does need some balance.
6- I went against a rank 2 executioner and he had Pop and we were never able to complete a gen. One of us had repressed alliance but because of the amount of time required for it to activate and it only works for 30 seconds when Pop works for 60 seconds.
I am not putting this post to be hated on, I am just trying to be fair for everybody being that I actually am a red rank in both survivor and killer and play both a lot.
2: His quick mori only takes affect when the survivor is on death hook. How is that too strong?
3: DS and BT work as intended (requiring the hook action). The killer sends them to a cage that is a huge distance away from where they are anyway, so they'd be safe if they're rescued in a timely fashion.
4: His ground power is avoidable via crouching. Otherwise, if you're in a chase, he's still loopable. A loopable killer isn't extremely strong and needs balancing.
5: Why do you feel he doesn't require skill?
6: He can only pop one gen after hooking one survivor. Sounds like you just weren't holding m1 enough.
-
As killer, I'll open their stream and hope they have a VOD so I can watch the match from their POV after the game. It's fun to see where they disappeared to if I lost them in chase so I can learn from it, or hear their reactions when I get a good play in.
As survivor, nothing. Doesn't interest me if we're on the same team.
I did camp Monto as Bubba, though. That was hilarious.

The counter part is called small game.
Detective's Hunch is pretty awesome, too. Once a gen gets done, you'll see several totem locations.

I dont understand it that much. I'm not trying to be mean or anything but this is a game about doing gens and murdering people. Why should the gender/sexuality of these characters be so important. The characters in this game dont even speak. What is the need for them to represent certain sexualities?
Yeah, it's annoying.
-
Remember, you get Brutality from kicking gens and breaking pallets/walls too. Leatherface, Hillbilly, Oni, and Demogorgon all have powers that can be used in motion to quickly break a pallet and continue a chase, so I think they're good picks for Brutality (Unless you play Chainsaw only LF/HB)

Just sounds like pandering that isn't needed. It's just a game where people run from their lives from a killer. No one's stopping midgame to let you know their gender/sexuality. Really seems unnecessary, to be honest.

Nemesis. Bubba. The perfect marriage.

Ninja Dwight was fun to play, lol

Funny thing is, the perks on those killers compliment the others. The Oni benefits from the Plague's Infectious Fright and Hag's Hex: Ruin. Clown's PGTW is good in general for most killers. Oni's Nemesis has shown to be advantageous when combined with PWYF.
If I had to choose from that list, I'd go with Hag. Hex Ruin, despite its changes, is still useful when it can be left up for awhile. Next would be Clown for the same reason: Gen regression perk. Then the other two. I'd recommend Hag>Clown>Oni>Plague in that order.
-
Play for yourself, not for them. You're not giving a presentation in front of an audience, you're loading into a game, chasing people like a Scooby Doo episode, and giving them a slap once in awhile.
-
Haunted grounds + Devour Hope is pretty solid. PGTW, for gens (since 2 hexes already is enough). Last one's likely personal choice. Sloppy butcher for keeping them injured longer, Whispers for tracking, Stridor for complimenting her power.
-
Here's hoping. SWAT SWF's the handsdown the worst thing to go against in terms of fun.
-
Chain stab 2-3 people and the 3rd or 4th goes down in one hit and ends the frenzy.
-
It's not fear. It's wanting to have fun. SWF Swats aren't fun for me. You have it at it, though.

For me, he's just not interesting. Never cared for the films, either. The clown argument, while weak, is another issue I agree with. We got Leatherface because they were finally able to get licensed killers in their game, which explains why he's in the game despite the Hillbilly. We have enough copycats, I want different themes.
-
I saw the movie once, years ago, and he's just completely forgettable. If he's a killer going to be released, sure I'll get the DLC and p3/max him out to add to my collection, and even play him if he's a fun killer. I just don't really care about the movie or the character. Only matters, at that point, if they're fun to play :P
-
You don't have fun with Bubba? What's wrong with you?
-
I'd be fine with it, but only if it the penalty was harsher. As in, only 1 hatch may be carried at a time and no other addons could influence that.
-
You want to aim your bottles at where you don't want survivors to go. If they go through it anyway, they'll be slowed and possibly punished. Try to get them to drop pallets early to make chases easier for later in the match.

Oh yeah, let's go to the other side of the map when im in chase just to wake up to be in the dream in less than 1m 30s.... and give freddy free pressure only for existing.
And freddy forces you to run X loops if he spam snares....
Freddy shouldn't get bloodlust when he spam snares
Clocks shouldn't spawn in the other side of the map
The passive fall asleep should be 1m 30s
You know you can just fail a skill check on a gen and wake up, right?

Honestly, I'd rather play against Nurse or Spirit all day. Maybe I'm just bad. I still have to look for him because I can't hear him when he wants to shoot me. He can do it so quickly. It's so annoying. Also, it's a bit broken in some loops. He can get you so easily. I can at least hear the huntress throwing a hatchet at me so I can prepare somehow. I also have the experience that people kill themselves on the hook against him. I have almost 3k hours in the game, but I somehow can't acclimatize to this killer.
It's kind of like nurse. You gotta use line of sight blockers and feint movements.

Just you.

I thought it was fun. I used Deathslinger and shot the ######### out of the crows.
-
I mean, what would you expect survivors who got 4 escapes to say?
-
Rank 1 as killer is overrated. Besides getting an achievement for it, there's no benefit, which means there's no point. Regardless of rank, you're going to going against survivors of all kinds. And in the end, you should play killer because you WANT to play killer. Don't put too much thought into rank, as the current rank system is being discarded even by the devs.

So it's super easy for a survivor just a camp Hatch whilst the other person's being hooked.
As the killer has no chance of actually getting to the hatch that's basically going to lead back to the issue of slugging the second to last survivor whilst you go find the last one.
Just let hatch open when the second to last survivor gets slugged 🤣

I visit the TTV to see what Rank they are.
Most of the time they're Brown ranks, very rare I see a Red Rank.
Then I obviously close the window.
I like to see if they have a VOD so I can watch the match from their point of view.
