He can be pretty fun provided they're running a build that doesn't consist of Hex: Ruin, Hex: Undying, BBQ, and Tinkerer, and as soon as they get that sweet sweet tinkerer proc they abandon all chase regardless of how skilled the person is to protect their oh-so-precious gens. Then it's just boring, especially in solo, when you have little baby Meg who can't last longer than 2 seconds, Claudette in the corner doing nothing productive, and David with No Mither deciding to tbag, get hit, and dc.

Provided they have some ounce of skill and/or creativity, they can be pretty fun and overall imho is balanced.

So, what's the survivor approved Blight build?

I can't use any items. If i use key, killers insta lobby dodge or decide to afk in game. If lobby has multiple medkit or any item, killers always dodge the lobby. They don't get penalty this is ridicilous. Why killers decide what survivors gonna equip? Recently i saw remove looping post. I am sure developers gonna listen that post and nobody will play survivor anymore. Killers shouldn't see survivors in order to balance

    Who cares?

  • I hate DS as killer, so I don't run it as survivor

  • Hopefully never.

  • Alien doesn't fit. It's such a deadly creature that it'd be a waste of a license to have it be looped, pallet stunnned, flashlight blinded, and teabagged at. Comparing it to demo is also a bit silly. At least in the show the demo got beat by Steve with a baseball bat, tricked into stepping onto a beartrap, and set on fire by three kids. The alien in DbD would have to be some nerfed version that DOESN'T annihilate 4 unarmed humans.. It belongs in a game where it can be shot at with a gun, not getting genrushed and head on'd.

  • Perma banning is a bit overkill

  • Anyone who complains about BBQ are probably newer players.

  • Give me back release Freddy

Can we adress this combo already? Like jeez, playing against this in solo Q is the most boring bs to verse. Team mates are trash and cant focus gens nor find totems. All the jobs are due to me. I need to do everything. Like, I used to do everything before this combo already: Do at least 2-3 gens, unhook mates before next stage, get chased for minimum 4 minutes while being super greedy with pallets cuz my team mates cant stand longer than 10 seconds without 100 of them and then find the noed at the end.

Now? all of this + cleansing minimum 3 Totems on my own. Nothing is getting done. Its super unenganging because most killers ignore me once I loop them for 20 seconds. They realize Im not easy to down so they go for my potatoe mates.

Run/Undying is fine. Undying gives a much needed safety net for any hex perk, which survivors have notoriously destroyed upon spawning into the match. What exactly is so hard to deal with? Totems are still breakable, gens can still be repaired despite Hex being up. If your team is struggling, it's not because of the hex perks.

Call me crazy, I know. But a thought. Would BHVR ever consider free auric cells in the free track of the rift? I don't mean too many, of course. Like, a total of 400 for reaching level 70. That's not absurd, over 70 days you can get 400 cells. Enough for one purple cosmetic piece. Smart people could save them for 3 rifts worth and get a rift pass. Or after 2 Rifts, you could buy a character. I mean, that sorta brings up problems, accquiring licensed characters for free. But do you think it'd ever be a possibility? Think of, god save me for mentioning it, Fortnite. A little bit of premium currency over the battle pass. Surely it couldn't hurt?

BHVR is far too greedy to just give out auric cells.

I’m interested to know peoples opinion on this, after posting a discussion around if DS should be basekit to try and punish tunnelling.

Someone suggested that within, say 10 or so metres, of a hooked survivor and NOT in a chase, the hook timer either freezes or is halved in its speed, thus eliminating campers.

it’s an interesting concept and I’d like to hear some opinions about it.

Campers shouldn't be "eliminated". There's no reason for that. If anything, killers who camp should be enticed not to.

First things first I can't be asked to deal with toxic people today so if you have a toxic reply just move on and leave us people trying to have a good time alone

OK now that's out of the way Freddy is by far the WORST killer to go up against and I'll explain why

    1. His power to teleport easy to dodge however it can still be faked

    2. He also has dream pallets and snares to slow us down that's just adding insult to injury on maps like Lerys and Game

    3. He's got the highest kill ratio on the results list which easily beat spirit it towered over her which says that spirit is way more balanced than Freddy

    4. Can you even outrun Freddy I mean even without his snares he is difficult to outrun but at least possible but with snares you instantly get caught after vaults and drops

    5. Sleep timer a nice little mechanic but should work like pigs and only have 4 spread across the map so I don't have to waste half a match traveling to wake myself

If anyone has any ideas to help balance Freddy let's put them out there because in his current state I just suicide as soon as the clock appears along with two others in my match

And to all you Freddy mains who wanna cry about this post stop playing a pay to win killer and actually learn to play a killer who requires skill

He's not that hard to go against, unless you're inexperienced. Just don't go screaming to have him nerfed into the ground. He shouldn't be made weak against because survivors refuse to adapt.

I know the title of this thread is going to attract a lot of hate and that’s ok because everyone has their own point of view, but as a new player I feel I’m not faced with enough challenge in terms of testing my ability as a killer. And to the point of “low ranks are easy and high ranks are hard for killers”, I mostly get matched with red and purple ranks, I don’t use hex perks (I personally find them to be training wheels and I like to stand on my own) and I still find it way to easy to find and down survivors. That’s not to say that I always sacrifice all survivors, there are some games where I might not get any sacrifices, but far to often the game ends in my favor without me putting in much effort and I find it so boring. I want a challenge development team, let’s see what you’ve got.

Gee. You must be the most talented new killer ever. How can the devs possibly make killer more challenging for a prodigy such as yourself? 😄

  • Just make it so equipped items are removed when you switch a survivor, so by default they always have no item upon switching.

  • @Raging_Ryuga said:

Hey! I had an idea for Hex: Undying rework due to the nature of the perk seemingly being frustrating for both sides (survivor side having to cleanse 5 totems at times, killer sometimes losing undying first)

    Hex: Undying

A Hex totem that draws upon the power of all other totems in the trial, causing them to be blocked by the entity while this totem remains on the map.

When this totem is cleansed, it reveals the auras of all other totems on the map for 5 seconds. The entity releases the hold on all other totems on the map after 10 seconds, causing them to become unblocked.

This is kind of like, Corrupt Intervention totem version? Could be a cool concept, while less frustrating than current undying.

That could be cool for a new perk idea, but not to replace Undying as it is. Right now it does something that killers have been wanting for awhile. Taking that away now would just be a slap to the face.

  • @AChaoticKiller said:

It's not impossible to catch the survivor since it's so long and not very curved meaning a few killers can deal with it but it is pretty dumb.

Like if you break the breakable wall to the left of that window it does nothing you actually save time vaulting it due to how the loop works which is the survivor uses both windows to rotate around the building.

They should switch the window and breakable wall positions in my opinion so it's harder to effectively use it and so the wall is worth breaking because as it is the survivors are lined up to use both windows.

I know it's not "impossible", but the amount of time needed is insane, while they can still break off from that loop to go to a near by pallet loop and then reset back to god loop. It's just thoroughly unfair, especially when it's something each of the four survivors can run to and abuse it.

  • @AcePlundersStuff said:

Having survivors escape through the hatch is very frustrating as killer, and does not feel earned at all when you pull it off as survivor. It is also pretty annoying for the survivor who brings the key because the killer is probably going to tunnel the hell out of them. I heard some rumours about keys getting a rework, how would you guys balance them?

Do we even need keys anymore?

  • I mean it's par for the course for BHVR.

If I am honest... I kinda love long chases

it might look like I am tunneling but, if a survivor is really good, I take the opportunity to get better and forget about the rest of the game, since I don't care about ranking I'd rather take a lesson then "winning" I get my 20-40k Bloodpoints anyway

sometimes it's just more fun to chase 😘

Well, good for you I guess. Every other kill OP will face will want to play to win and not lose on purpose.

  • @Terra92 said:

I swear every game where I manage to do well in a chase, more than half the time I get a killer who will sit there on me, teabag me, shake their head frantically like they just won the E- Superbowl. I'm sorry that it took you eight chases to finally down me, but it's not my fault, dude.

It makes me not want to get better at chases. I'd rather be knocked down in 15 seconds and hooked, than to do well in a chase for a minute and get slapped around and told no like a bad nanny for an extra minute. Yeah it's good for the game but it's certainly not enjoyable to experience. I'm already high adrenaline from managing to somehow survive a chase for that long, now you want me to take a beating I didn't deserve?

Maybe if the killer had fun chasing you they wouldn't do that.

  • @Pipefish said:

If you have the opportunity to tunnel someone out of the game. Do you or do you try to spread it out. I know getting tunneled is no fun on the survivors end but neither is killer on large maps when you move at 110% speed and the survivors are gen rushing you by splitting on gens. Assuming you say you don't, what other strategies would you recommend, be much appreciated!

Depends on how the match is going for me or how the survivors are behaving. If I'm getting gen rushed, someone's getting bum rushed.

  • Buying with money. I'd use shards, but I want to use them to buy the last piece of Feng's halloween outfit I wasn't to complete during Halloween.

  • I think Freddy has much more in his base kit to help him out than doc. He can go across the map, have the anti-loop snares, fake teleport, and counter BT if the rescuer is asleep. Demogorgon's a second, also for teleporting and faking a shred slips survivor's up.

But it would be pretty much the same, wouldn't it? I mean if they would fix maps and loops so we wouldn't need Bloodlust tier 1 then it would be like playing WITH Bloodlust. It would take too much work I think for them to do so, why not just ditch tier 2 and 3 and keep 1? I mean almost everyone in this thread agrees with me on this idea.

So what if it takes too much work? They should be encouraged to do a better job. Bloodlust was added because of how unbalanced it was to use god tier loops and they should keep working to get rid of those aspects of the game rather than keep holding things together with band-aids and duct tape.

  • Ditch bloodlust entirely and have them work on fixing maps and loops so we shouldn't EVER need something like bloodlust again.

  • Disable exhaustion perks in general for a weekend and see how that goes.

So quick catch up on me. Long time killer main, started SWFing to learn survivor, climbed to rank 4 as survivor, but knew I was boosted.

So I started my solo career. I have been hard stuck at rank 6 but all I face are red rank killers and my fellow survivors also tend to be red ranks.

My question, how often do you all survive? I went from probably a 70% survival rate as a swfmate to maybe 15% as a solo.

I noticed as solo, I don't even play to survive anymore, I play to hopefully pip.

So please tell me friends are you surviving often? And if so, how?

If I'm solo, I'll usually try to pip. Escaping or not doesn't really determine victory if you've preformed well before dying. So, that's my goal when I'm in. However, if I'm feeling especially selfish I'll just leave the match when the gate is opened instead of risking my 5,000 escape points to unhook a rando. They might berate me in after game chat, but that's okay. Solo's gonna solo.

  • If you enjoy doing it, have at it. Doesn't sound like you've got much incentive to do otherwise with gen speeds as they are. It's just a symptom of the game itself needing more balance issues to be addressed. If you wanna get better, that's just going to take time and you might find yourself not having fun if you're having the same problems with gen speeds. It doesn't get any better as you rank up.

  • Literally no reason to turn it off.

  • @danielmaster87 said:

They're literally so stupid. You can potentially cheat out 8 hook states, and that just shouldn't be possible. The green and yellow moris can stay, but ebonies are completely game breaking. DS, the strongest perk in the game, won't even save you from it if you don't find a locker in time. If a killer's good they will simply power through Borrowed to get the down and mori off first hook. They don't even have to camp the hook, that's just being toxic. They're getting insane value just from hooking a survivor, because the next time the survivor gets downed they're dead. It's legalized cheating. Unless you're a red rank, coordinated SWF who are matched with a dumb enough killer that will chase and hook all 4 people before moriing anyone, there is no overcoming an ebony mori. Before anyone says it, yes keys are dumb too and should be removed. But the point is that something this incredibly broken and game swinging should never have been in the game in the first place.

Mori's need reworking, not outright removed. As a killer it's fun to do the killing animation. The requirements should be made more fair, perhaps. Instead of hooking someone on their last hook, let the mori be used then. It's still strong in that it doesn't require the survivor be picked up on their last hook so no save is possible, but it would feel fair because they were on death hook anyway.

  • If someone's on a hook I'll generally try to get them off, no matter what's at play. Helping your team mates increases your own chance of survival, even with a mori. Just because a killer brings a mori doesn't mean he's going to get the kill.

  • It's a safe bet that TTV survivor's are going to ruin your day for their audience.

  • @WalkedMoss92 said:

Every single game, EVERY SINGLE GAME I've played today and yesterday I've died on second hook WHILE running Kindred, or I was completely tunneled off hook and admittedly hooked again. No one helps with gens, no one heals me, no one helps me off hook. I get absolutely cucked EVERY single game by useless teammates and tunneling killers.

This game only seems fun to people who play toxic, or to people who actually have friends to play with.

I've spent so much time and money on this terrible game, I wish I could go back in time and stop myself from starting this game.

The glitches will never be fixed, the hitboxes will never be fixed, the ranking system will never be fixed, the point system will never be fixed, and the trashy teammates and the terrible killers will never get good.

If you're having it that rough in solo queue, just go in and be the most selfish S.O.B. you can be. If you do actually run into some players that are more to your liking, you should consider reaching out to them to form a party so you're not going at it alone.

  • Exactly how many times does a Bubba actually down all 4 survivors in one attack in their killer career? It's a low probability, because it requires ALL four survivors to be close enough together and for Bubba to hit ALL of them with the small window of opportunity that saw charges allow. There's almost never a reason for all survivors to be that close together, for that long, right in front of the killer. If it happens to you often, maybe consider running away instead of whatever it is you're doing currently. 😋

If the game is dying suggesting people are no longer interested in it then why did

850 000 people watch the teaser for the next killer? Teaser was literally posted 1 day ago 🤔

Watching a teaser =/= active players. Lots of people still watch the game, but don't play it themselves.

The full Tombstone is balanced like that, as well as having a speed penalty so you also have to spend time stacking pwyf. Honestly survivors who have even the smallest bit of awareness should be able to easily slam 5 gens before he gets to tier 3.

Tombstone piece on the other hand is stupid and shouldn't be in the game, but I don't think OP was talking about the piece.

Why is the Tombstone piece stupid and shouldn't be in the game?

  • Isn't it balanced by requiring much more time stalking? Why does it need to go just because you have braindead teammates?

  • I consider myself a "both sides" player, but I do tend to play killer more often. Though, not so much of late as killer games frustrate me more and more.

I spent a lot of today watching different Fog Whisperers trying to get a Dwightcrow code and finally got one! Here are my tips for getting one for yourself:

    1. Work your way down the Fog Whisper list to find a smaller streamer that has less competition. I know you might love Otz, but his chat is massive and the odds aren't in your favor. Link: https://deadbydaylight.com/en/news/fog-whisperers-program-2020
    2. Actually watch the streamer long enough to learn their methods for giving out codes. They usually only give out a couple per hour. Streamers that give out a portion of the code and give people time to type before giving the last few digits are the most fair if you're not a speed typist or are on console.
    3. Have your game shop open and ready to redeem the second the streamer gives out the code. Time is of the essence. Console players and PC players without duel monitors should probably be watching the stream on their phone or laptop for multitasking purposes.
    4. The odds will get better as the event goes on. If you think you're at a disadvantage, you might wanna check streams at odd times when less people are watching or wait until next week when the hype has died down a bit. Everyone that's dedicated enough should get the charm eventually it just sucks that the beginning of the event is so bottle-necked because everyone is rushing for it.

Honestly? ######### having to do any of that. This whole Dwightcrow thing is just evidence of the devs going back on their word to end exclusives. The charm is a symbol of betrayal.

I see it as a perk that shouldn't exist. When combined with other strong perks, it can really punish a killer for doing their objective and in some cases make it so a survivor who should die will escape. It's not a perk that should be in a game like this time is already against the killer.
